Wicked Dynasty: The Untouchables | Book Two

The second I saw Audrey standing near the dorms, my heart started to race. She looked stunning though she tried to blend in with the rest of the incoming students. She would always stand out in a crowd. Her raw beauty assured me of that. Without hesitation, I jogged over to where she was waiting and quickly pulled her between the two towering buildings.
Her lighthearted laughter warmed every nerve in my body. She wrapped her arms around me as I lifted her up, pinning her against the dilapidated brick building. Our location wasn’t picked by chance. Derek has scouted the campus the day before and found the dead-end alley. It wasn’t a five-star hotel, but it didn’t matter. I had Audrey in my arms without a camera or surveillance crew in sight.
“Jesus,” I whispered. “I’ve missed you so much.”
“I hate this, all of it. I hate being away from you and Dakota. I hate that you’re stuck back in DC with that awful woman.”
“I don’t know how much time we have, but I don’t want to waste it talking about anyone else.”
Audrey took my face in her hands and pulled me closer, her legs wrapping around me as I lifted her off the ground. I’d almost forgotten how it felt to have her in my arms as my heart surged. A steady heat rose throughout my body as our eyes locked. I let my gaze travel down her flawless body, my shaft throbbing at the sight of her erect nipples poking through the fabric of her dress.
God, she excited me. The soft mounds of her rear were barely covered by the short dress. My body ached for her as I pressed her against the wall again, a groan slipping past my lips. She covered my mouth with hers, our tongues dancing together as the heat from her body drove my desire forward. I took in her intoxicating scent and the taste of her lips. Pulling away from her mouth, I kissed her neck before moving lower to the curve of her shoulder.
My fingers trailed away from her perfect backside to where her wet core waited for me. She shuddered as my finger ran along her entrance, barely brushing her slick pearl as she wiggled. Audrey let out a soft moan, her mouth becoming slack as she rested her head against the wall. I watched every expression with exhilaration, the tip of my cock now dripping as her sweet nectar ran over my knuckles.
When she arched her back, I plunged my fingers deep into her waiting body. Audrey tightened around me, her nails digging into the nape of my neck as my shaft strained against the tight confines of my jeans. Pressing my palm to her pearl, I worked her body in a steady rhythm until she could barely whisper my name. Her legs tightened around me, pressing my fingers deeper inside of her as I bit at her nipples.
As desperately as I wanted to take my time with her, the frantic desire was overwhelming. With my other hand, I quickly unzipped my pants, struggling to free my rigid cock. When at last I plunged myself into Audrey, her body tightened around me. A sharp gasp slipping from her lips as she pulled on my hair. We stayed locked together for several seconds, relishing in the depths of her tight body as it adjusted and milked my cock.
The edges of the outside world started to fade around me as I pulled away from her until only the tip remained. Her eyes opened, locking on mine as I slowly filled her once again. Together we found our rhythm, my pulsating member growing increasingly rigid with each stroke. I couldn’t hold out any longer. When her body clenched around me and her lips sought mine, an explosion of euphoria pulsed from my loins.
My heart raced, my cock pulsing with each thrust as I filled her core. She called out my name as the orgasm gripped her. Together we reached the pinnacle before I slowly pulled away from her. I wanted to stay and bury my face between her legs, but there was no time. We’d barely righted ourselves when footsteps approached from the only opening in the alley. With one final glance of affection, I kissed Audrey before stepping a few feet away.
“I wish we had more time,” she whispered.
“I know, I do too. This whole thing is so messed up. At least we have a few more minutes. How are you holding up?”
“Good considering everything that’s happened. I hate being away from you and Dakota, though. Is he okay?”
“He’s doing just fine,” I growled. “What about Kylan? Is he still sniffing around like the dog he is?”
Audrey glared at me. “Kylan has been wonderful, actually, and thanks to him, I’ve been able to spend the last week with Derek.”
My jaw clenched. “Sounds like things are going great for you then.”
“Oh, don’t start that crap,” Audrey hissed. “All of us knew that we were going to have to lay low. I’m so happy I got to see you. Can we please not fight?”
She looked so beautiful with her disheveled hair and little pout. I couldn’t help but smile as I nodded. I wasn’t going to get much more time with her. I didn’t want to be fighting about Kylan or my brother. Eventually, someone would make her aware of the fact that Dakota and Molly had been seen together a few times already. Still, I wouldn’t be the one to share that information.
Maybe it was selfish, but Dakota’s life wasn’t mine to share, and I wouldn’t be the reason Audrey was upset. Especially until I knew more about Dakota and Molly’s relationship. I had a hard time believing that my brother would be dumb enough to get tangled up with her again. Still, anymore, it seemed like anything was possible. A cluster of students walked by us, barely taking notice as they talked amongst themselves.
I glanced up just long enough to see them pass, but my eyes caught something else. A few yards away from the sidewalk, on a bench that I’d confirmed was empty earlier, sat Kylan Klaus. His gaze was hidden behind sunglasses, but the set of his jaw made my cheeks flush. From where he was seated, Kylan had a clear line of sight to where Audrey and I had been making love just moments before.
My stomach lurched as he nodded at me. Still, Kylan didn’t move in our direction. Barely a second had passed when I turned back to Audrey. I kept a close watch on him from the corner of my eye, yet he stayed seated. Had he seen us? Perhaps he’d been watching us the entire time.
“It looks like we have company,” I hissed.
Audrey looked out at the bench and shifted her feet, looking down as her cheeks flushed a deep red. My focus turned to her complicity. A foreign sensation swept over me, driving home the confusion and anger as I balled my hands into fists. I would beat him to a bloody pulp if he wanted to comment on my hidden rendevous with Audrey.
“Did you know he was following us?” I asked. “What aren't you telling me?”
“Declan, please don’t lose your temper, okay?”
“Don’t lose my temper? What the fuck is he doing here, Audrey?”
“Listen, Kylan isn't the bad guy that you think he is okay? He found out you were coming and didn’t stop me. I didn’t know he was following me, but I'm not surprised.”
“I can't believe this. You’ve been with him for a week, and already he’s got his hooks into you. I knew this was a bad idea from the very beginning.”
“Excuse me? You're acting like I had any other choice but to go along with this. What was I supposed to do, Declan? Turn my back on my mother and walk away from my family?”
“Well, you sure as hell didn’t have any problem with me and Dakota doing it!”
“I don’t want to fight with you,” Audrey snapped. “I'm sorry that Kylan followed us, but we were still able to see each other. I’d like to see you again too.”
“What about Dakota? He wasn’t happy about me coming out here alone as it was.”
Audrey pursed her lips. “I don’t think that’s a good idea. I love Dakota just as much as I do you, but he and Kylan have a history.”
My mouth dropped. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. “So let me get this straight, your new friend approves of me coming out for our little sessions but not Dakota? Does the big man feel threatened by him and not me?”
“Stop it! This is ridiculous. Kylan is only doing what my mother contracted his company to do.”
“Since when did you start playing along with all of this? This is insane. Do you know what he’s doing? He’s tr
ying to drive a wedge between us.”
“Right now, you are the only one driving a wedge between anyone. Kylan has nothing to do with us, and I wish you’d stop bringing him up.”
“Well, it’s hard not to when your new friend is walking in this direction. Forgive me if I don’t stick around for the warm welcome.”
Audrey groaned. “Declan –”
“Don’t,” I hissed. “I don’t know what’s going on between you two, but he’s got his sister working Dakota from one end, and he’s twisting you from the other. Mark my words, Audrey, the Klaus siblings are out for themselves and no one else.”
“He’s different,” she whispered. “Kylan has changed since you and Dakota met him last. You should give him a second chance.”
“No, sweetheart, he hasn’t changed. He just found a new way to hurt Dakota and me both.”
I spun around and stormed out of the alley, barely giving Kylan a second glance as I did. I knew myself well enough to know that if I spoke to him, it was going to end in bloodshed. There was nothing more to be said. I wasn’t going to keep playing into Kylan’s games. Knowing that he was okay with me being there but not Dakota was the final nail in his coffin as far as I was concerned. He didn’t see me as a threat, but I was going to change that.
Derek saw me storming away from the campus and called after me. It wasn’t until we were both in the back of a limousine on our way to the airstrip that I told him everything that had happened. I hadn't expected the conversation to take such a dramatic turn. Yet by the time I was on my return flight to DC, everything had changed. Now I had the confirmation I needed to bring down Molly and Kylan Klaus. All I needed was Dakota's support.

Dakota
“How are you feeling?”
“Fine. This isn’t my first ribbon cutting, you know,” I muttered.
Molly chuckled. “Of course it’s not, but it’s the first one that you’ve organized with Declan and the only one that you’ve personally endorsed. This new hospital is laying the foundation for your future.”
“It’s for a good cause. We’ll get pushback for using taxpayer money. Still, the neighborhood needs something closer, at least until we can get the violence under control.”
“You know, not many politicians would come to this neighborhood. Fewer still would take an active interest in it.”
“And that’s part of what’s wrong with the system right now. If we were able to get more funding to areas like this, we might actually see a change.”
I watched as the buildings around me became increasingly desolate. That area of the city had gone untouched for decades. The population of immigrants and low-income families was through the roof. Yet I’d met several of the locals and knew that they wanted a change. The people were tired of seeing their youth in body bags before their eighteenth birthdays.
“You’re going to get some pushback for the recruiting office you’re adding,” Molly said.
“I know, and I stand by the decision.”
“They’ll say you’re targeting at-risk youth.”
“I’ll tell them I’m giving at-risk youth a path when there are no others. I’m offering an incentive instead of a death sentence.”
“And the youth program?”
“By the time some of these kids are old enough to enlist, it’s already too late. If they join the program, it keeps them out of the juvenile system. I’d rather see the taxpayers’ money going towards their enrichment, not imprisonment.”
Molly fell silent, her lips pursing into a smile. I quickly turned my attention back to the changing surroundings. We were getting close. My heart pounded in my chest despite the laid-back exterior I had crafted over the years. To say it had been a challenge having Molly around would be an understatement. She knew me on an intimate level and recognized even the slightest fracture in my persona.
I hadn’t let my guard down in the last two weeks. Today would be the first time I’d seen Declan in person since he’d met up with Audrey. Hopefully, we’d find the time to talk without Molly lingering around. She’d become my shadow, much to my horror and my mother’s delight. We slowed down to a stop outside a run-down building. I knew the bones and structure of it were sound, but it still it wasn’t much to look at.
The back door opened to the flashing of cameras as Molly climbed out, and I followed. Plastering a smile on my face, I waved to the crowd that had gathered outside. I took my time making my way to the podium, shaking hands, and stopping for selfies with my followers. In a few years, they might very well be the people electing me as president. I wanted to make up for the time I’d lost and start fresh with the people. They were my future, and I knew it.
I climbed up the steps, waving again to the people before the noise started to die down. I gave them the dashing smile I’d cultivated over the years. This was my world. I was destined to be a leader and bring real change to the people who needed it most. That didn’t mean my heart wasn’t racing. Sucking in a deep breath, I started into my carefully-penned speech.
* * *
“Holy crap,” Molly exclaimed. “I knew you were good but hot damn. I think you might be better than your father!”
I cringed. “Thanks, I think. I just said what came from the heart. I just want what’s best for the people.”
“And you conveyed that beautifully,” Molly said. “You know, when we first started working together, I thought I was going to have to coddle you along. I must say I’ve been pleasantly surprised.”
“Well, I aim to please.”
The car moved away from the run-down area. I couldn’t wait to drop her off at her hotel and meet Declan for drinks. He’d coordinated the event flawlessly. When Molly moved from her seat to mine, I tensed at once. She kept her distance, but the familiar smell of her perfume wafted out my cracked window, stirring old feelings both of desire and betrayal.
“Listen, I know you are dealing with a lot right now. I just want you to know I’m here if you need someone to bitch to.”
“Sorry, but an ex-girlfriend isn’t high on my list of confidantes.”
“That was a long time ago, Dakota. We’ve both grown up and moved on. We are a great team.”
“Declan and I are a great team,” I said.
“I wouldn’t know, but I’d love to find out,” Molly whispered.
The double meaning in her words was clear. Yet, there was no desire stirring inside of me. Instead, a prickle of anger coursed through me. Sharing Audrey was one thing. There was a bond between us that was unbreakable, but I didn’t share that same link with Molly.
We reached the outskirts of the city. My brother's apartment wasn’t far from there. We’d planned on meeting at the restaurant in an hour, but I suddenly needed to get away from Molly. I quickly signaled the driver and had him pull over.
“Seriously?” she snapped. “This is ridiculous.”
“It’s got nothing to do with the conversation,” I lied. “I just need some fresh air. I’ll see you tomorrow for our morning briefing.”
“Listen, I didn’t mean to ruffle your feathers, okay?”
“It's already forgotten. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Before she could argue, I jogged down the block in the direction of my brother’s apartment. It was only a few blocks. I made it just as he was headed into his own car. He paused when he saw me running from the opposite side of the street. I couldn’t help but notice the amused grin on his face as he slid into the car. By the time I was seated next to him, I was out of breath, and Declan was laughing.
“You know if you needed a ride, you could have just asked.”
“Shut up,” I grumbled. “Molly made a pass at me…and you for that matter, I think.”
Declan nearly spit out his drink as the car lurched forward. It was comforting to know that I wasn’t alone in my utter shock. I’d run the conversation through my head a dozen times on the jog over. I had to put it behind us, though. Maybe it was just the adrenaline from the event that got to her.
Hopefully, tomorrow wouldn’t be as awkward as I suspected it might be.
“Wow, she moves fast, but I can’t say I’m surprised. I had an interesting trip to see Audrey.”
My cheeks flushed. “Oh? I’m sure you enjoyed it as much as I will.”
“I wouldn’t count on that. I don’t know what they are up to, but Kylan Klaus has definitely been working his charms with Audrey. He knew I was there.”
“Did you talk to him?”
“Of course not. Anything that comes out of that man’s mouth is poison, and I know that, but Audrey was actually defending him.”
“I need to go see her. I’ll talk to Derek and make something happen,” I seethed.
“No, you won’t. You can ask Audrey, and she’ll tell you the same. I bet Derek would agree as well. Kylan has it out for you. He basically said I could see her, and that’s it. Now with Molly going after you, it’s a game to drive us apart, and you know it.”
“You’ve always been paranoid. Kylan’s got it out for me, alright, but I think Molly was serious.”
“Oh God, don’t start stoking your ego now,” Declan muttered. “Let’s look at the bigger picture here. Kylan has made it clear that you can’t go near Audrey.”
“I don’t give two shits what that man says,” I snapped. “I’ll do whatever the hell I want, and right now, that’s to run a couple successful campaigns.”
“You mean you aren’t going to fly off the handle and go out there?”
“No. I realize that might be shocking for you, but if this is what Audrey wants, then that’s what I’ll do. She doesn’t need us both trying to boss her around. That will just push her away.”
Declan’s mouth dropped open, but I ignored him. He was just being dramatic. I wasn’t happy about Audrey’s decision to go along with Kylan’s plan, but I had to trust her. Plus, there were other things that needed my attention. I could understand and respect her loyalty to her mother, just as I hoped she could respect mine to my own future. It still stung. I wanted to hold her. The thought of Kylan touching her was enough to drive a man insane.
