Chief's Angel (Biker Rockstar Series Book Three) Page 16

by Bec Botefuhr

“Hey old fella, fancy a dance?”

I stand, taking her hand and leading her out onto the dance floor. She smiles up at me; her grey eyes, just like mine, are sparkling under the lights. I grin at her, and look over her shoulder to smile at her Mom and sister. Things are good; things don’t get much better than this. We move to the music, and pride swells in my chest. She’s like the glue in our family; whenever shit gets bad, she wraps herself around us all and sticks us back together.

  “Real proud of you Mischief.”

She beams, “It was beautiful, wasn’t it Daddy?”

I love it when she calls me Daddy; almost as much as when she calls me Chief.

  “You were fuckin’ beautiful.”

“You look alright yourself, for an old fella.”

I snort, “Giving me a complex.”

  “That wouldn’t be hard.”

We have a great relationship. Sure we’ve had our ups and downs like most but when it comes down to it, my girl is the shit. “You make a real pretty bride baby.”

“And Momma, didn’t she look beautiful?”

I stare over at my wife, and grin, “Fuck yeah, that woman never looks anything but.”

“I hope we are as happy as you in twenty years’ time.”

I smile, meeting my daughters gaze.

“You will be Mischief; you wanna know how I know that?”

She nods, smiling up at me.

“I know that because you and Trav have that something. Couples get married every day, and a lot of them never make it and you know why? Because they never had that something. That something that makes them want to wake up every day next to their person; that something that makes everything seem brighter when that person is around; that something that would tear their hearts out if it was taken away. I gave away that something along time ago with your Mom, but luckily I got a second chance. Finding your someone changes you kid; and ain’t nothing in the universe that can argue with it. You and Trav found your something in each other and that’s how I know you will have your happily ever after; just like me and your Mom did.”

I look down at my daughter and find her with tears in her eyes. I’m not worried though; I know they are happy tears.

  “Daddy?”

  “Yeah?”

She blinks and the tears run down her cheeks. I lift my hand to her face and using my thumbs, I wipe away the moisture.

“Thank you, for everything you have ever done for me, and Momma.”

I choke up as I stare at my baby.

“Here is the thing, Mischief; I would fuckin’ die for you and your Mom.”

“You know what, Mr. ‘Big Tough Biker’?” she whispers, wrapping her fingers around one of mine, just like she did when she was born, “I know that. I have always known that.”

  THE END

For those who haven’t read the first two books in this series, you can follow Chief & Angel’s story as secondary characters in Phoenix Rockstar & Heart Song. Those two books belong to Violet & Travis (It’s their story) but it all ties together in the end. I recommend reading them all, enjoy!
