"You've had it out for me since day one. You took him from me."

"No, Misty. You pushed him away because you were smothering him, then wouldn't get a clue when he told you to fuck off. I honestly don't know how many times a guy has to tell you that before you finally get a clue. Even after we married, you continued to pursue him. The way I see it, you are nothing but a gold-digging whore."

"How dare you come into my home and make these accusations against me. Go to hell, Brooke," she said, standing.

"Sit down, Misty. I think you want to hear what I have to say. We no longer have an open position here for you any longer, but the company is willing to relocate you. We'll help you get your house sold, pay all of your moving expenses and give you a nice sum of money until you get settled in at the new location."

"And, what if I don't take your shitty offer?"

"Well, that's up to you, but...you'll get the company's regular compensation package, which would include your rate of pay for three months. You walk away, find a new job and never, ever come back to Prescott Oil and Gas, because I will make sure that your ass will never step foot in that building again. Do we have an understanding?"

  "You're a bitch!"

I smiled at her, "I can be when you mess with what belongs to me."

"I want to speak with Dylan, now!"

Tristan cleared his throat, "Excuse me, Ms. Adams."

"Yes," she said, twirling her hair in her fingers.

"Mr. Prescott has made it very clear that he wishes to no longer speak with you, and that Mrs. Prescott has the authority to act on his behalf, since she owns the other half of the company. Therefore, she can do as she pleases."

"This is bullshit, and you both know it."

"No, Misty. What is bullshit, is the fact that you don't know when to stop or how to let go. So, I'm going to help you do both."

"Where the hell are you trying to transfer me to?"

"Oh, I'm so glad you asked. We are excited to offer you a job at our Williston, North Dakota location."

"Are you fucking kidding me? That's out in the middle of fucking nowhere!"

"Exactly. It's the perfect place for you to start a new life."

"You can forget it. Take your offer and shove it up your ass! I'm not moving, anywhere."

"I'm very sorry to hear that. Here is your severance package," I said, pulling the envelope out of my bag. Your security clearance has already been revoked, and Mishka from Human Resources will be packing up your personal belongings this afternoon, and will have them sent over via courier by the end of the day. I wish you the best, Misty," I said, standing and pushing the chair in. "You have a wonderful day. Oh...and one more thing, if you ever try to contact my husband again, I will see to it that you are dealt with in a much less civil manner."

  "Is that a threat, Brooke?"

"No, Misty. That is a promise."

I grabbed my bag, turned and walked out the door that Tristan was holding open for me. One problem down, one more to go.

I was proud of myself. Misty was finally out of the picture for good and we could move on as a couple without the worry of her hanging over our heads. I wasn't sure how Dylan was going to react to the news of me letting her go, but that would be an argument for another day. That's if he was even upset. I felt bad for dragging Tristan into my little plan, but when I had mentioned it to him, he was more than willing to help, since he had witnessed her crazy behavior firsthand while she was dating Dylan.

"Thanks for your help today, T. I really appreciate it."

"No problem, B. You're like a sister to me, I'd do anything for you."

"What if Dylan's pissed at you for helping me?"

"Please. He can't stand that bitch, either. He'd probably laugh if he knew what we just did."

"I don't know about that. I could have put the company in jeopardy. I really hope she doesn't try and sue us."

"Don't worry about her. She didn't care about her job, anyway. She just wanted to be close to D. Besides, you have record of her stealing and you gave her a severance package. Sounds like she got a pretty banging deal to me. No lawyer in their right mind would take her case. Plus, the legal team at Prescott, would eat her alive. You have nothing to worry about, boss lady."

"You're right, thanks. I guess I'm just over thinking it."

"Yep. But you're good, don't worry about her stupid ass, anymore. Where to, now?"

"Home. I need to change as I'm meeting Mandy for lunch and Alexi is supposed to drive me. Ugh, Tristan. Will it always be this way? You know, you and Dylan's team driving me everywhere?"

He chuckled, "It will be for a while, Brooke. He's still concerned about you, but he'll let up, eventually."

  "Perfect," I sighed.

Walking into my room, I quickly changed and met Alexi in the foyer. The day was going much quicker than I'd anticipated, and the closer the time came for my escape, the more anxious and nervous I became.

  CHAPTER 15

  Tristan

I'd spent the days taking care of Brooke, per Dylan's request, or as I liked to call it, babysitting. I wasn't overly happy with the arrangement, since she'd lost her fucking mind and put my friend through hell. It pissed him off when I'd voiced my concerns to him about her mental state and the fact that she may never be normal again. I was a loyal friend though, and I set my own bullshit feelings aside to help him out.

I hated to admit it, but the more time I spent with her, the more I liked her. She was very different than her sister, Stephanie. I'd met Steph through Dylan and Brooke when she had been attacked. I spent many hours at the hospital getting to know her, protecting her and caring for her. Our friendship grew into much more and I was falling in love with her. I hated being away from her, but I knew if I didn't take care of her sister she would kick my ass and withhold the pussy that I loved being balls deep in for hours.

I was going to marry her, I knew that much. She wasn't like the other women I had dated. Stephanie was a mature, confident woman, whose curves would knock any man on his ass. The fact that she loved to be tied up, spanked and fucked hard...was an added bonus. And Steph commanded respect from everyone around her, unlike her sister.

Don't get me wrong. I loved Brooke, but sometimes she could be a real pain in the ass. Always whining about that stupid bitch, Misty, whom Dylan had absolutely no interest in, whatsoever. As a guy, I didn't get it, but Stephanie had explained a little to me why Brooke was the way she was. So, I decided to give her a break. Had it been anyone else, I would have told my buddy to walk the fuck away. For good.

When she asked for my help to rid Dylan of the parasite known as Misty, I was on board, one hundred percent. That bitch needed to go. I'd told Dylan time and time again, to be the biggest dick to her, but he wouldn't. He wanted to let her down easy. Well, after two years of being a clueless, fucking rat bag, I was on Brooke's side.

She was up to something, though. I could feel it, and I'd be damned if that ornery, little shit of a woman was going to pull something on my watch. Dylan certainly had his hands full with that one. I guess, maybe, that's what I liked about her most. She knew when to be kind and loving, but had a fiery personality when needed. Truth be told, she confused the hell out of me.

I dropped her off at the penthouse, so Alexi could drive to her to meet her friend, Mandy. Another bitch, I didn't understand. She was definitely a beautiful woman, but a little too forward for my liking. Alexi was in for a shit storm if he fell into her trap, which I had a feeling he might. Brooke was certainly up to no good, with her matchmaker bullshit. A warning that had come straight from Dylan, when he mentioned the plans for lunch with those two.

Women. What was it with them always trying to fix their friends up with men they knew nothing about? I came to the conclusion, that I would never understand.

Now, Stephanie, that was a woman after my own heart. She didn't play that bullshit game. You always knew exactly where you stood with her, and that was usually right on my cock. The first time I fucked he
r, I knew I'd met my soulmate. I loved a woman that knew how to take control in the bedroom, and one that knew when it was my turn.

I enjoyed tying to her my bed, but I equally enjoyed it when she did it back. And that night with the vibrator...well...it was fucking hot! My favorite though, was when she let me watch her with another woman. Holy shit! I had never seen anything more beautiful in my life. The way they caressed each other's bodies, while tongue kissing each other, made my cock harder than it'd ever been.

I'm what you would call a voyeur. I liked to watch. And by liked to watch, I meant anything of the sexual nature. I enjoyed watching women fuck each other, and I'm not afraid to watch another man fuck my girl either, as long as they both knew who she was going home with at the end of the night. Threesome's are my thing. I'd been involved with a few, including one with my buddy, Dylan, back in our college days. I don't think he enjoyed it quite as much as I did, but hey, to each his own. You liked what you liked, and I liked watching all holes get filled.

That probably made me the world's biggest perv, but I didn't fucking care. I was who I was, and if no one liked it they could piss off. I didn't live to please others, only myself and the people I loved.

I sat, waiting at my desk until I heard Alexi and Brooke leave. I figured I owed to my friend to let him know that his woman was up to something, and I was pretty sure it was no good. She was always getting herself into dangerous situations she thought she could handle on her own, but couldn't. Yes, I had to fucking intervene, once more. I picked up the phone, and sent my buddy a text.

We need to talk. ~ T

Tell me everything is okay. ~ D

Yes. Everything is fine, but...I think Brooke is up to something. ~ T

Fuck! What is she up to, now? ~ D

I don't know, but she's a little too put together, if you know what I mean. ~ T

Yeah, I kind of picked up on that this morning before I left for work. She was rushing me out of the house. ~ D

Well, I might have had a little to do that. ~ T

Let me guess. Misty? ~ D

  I laughed hard.

  She's already called? ~ T

You knew she would, she's fucking crazy! ~ D

  You're right, I knew she would. ~ T

Thanks for the heads up on that, asshole. ~ D

Hey, man, that was all your wife's doings. I was just along for the ride. ~ T

You're full of bullshit too. You love watching chics scratch, bite and pull hair. ~ D

Ha! You have no idea, man. ~ T

Fuck off! We're not talking about that shit. ~D

Oh right, we're talking about Brooke and the rat bag. ~ T

So tell me, how did my girl do? ~ D

Surprisingly, she did great. She handled Misty very well, even when she was asking about you. ~ T

Fucking, crazy bitch! All she cares about is my money. ~ D

And your cock. She turned your money down. ~ T

  Really? ~ D

Brooke offered her a nice relocation package, but she told her to fuck off. ~ T

Where was she willing to re-locate her to? ~ D

  Williston, ND. ~ T

Dude! I just spit water all over and I'm in a damn meeting. That's funny shit right there. ~ D

Yeah, I had a good laugh at that one, too. I gotta hand it to your wife, she's brilliant. That's one way to make a bitch disappear. ~ T

It's really not that bad up there, you know. ~ D

I know, but would you want to move there? ~ T

If I wanted to keep my job, I would. ~ D

  Point well taken. ~ T

  She's dumb and crazy. ~ D

No kidding. I'll let you get back to your meeting, but I'm giving you the heads up, man, your wife is up to something. ~ T

Keep an eye on here. I can't leave early today. ~ D

Will do. She's with Alexi, right now ~ T

Oh man, I feel sorry for that guy. ~ D

  Me too! ~ T

I hope you warned him to run as fast as he could away from Mandy. ~ D

I laughed even harder, this time.

Nope. I told him he should go for it. ~ T

  You're an asshole! ~ D

  Yep! ~T

  Gotta run. ~ D

  Catch ya later. ~ T

Placing my phone on my desk, I cranked up my computer and went to work, trying to figure out what Brooke's next move would be. I checked to make sure that he hadn't removed the tracking device that was on her car, since I had noticed her checking out it when we'd left earlier that morning. That's right, I was onto her. She must have thought I was some kind of idiot not to notice.

The device was still in place, but if I knew my buddy's wife, she would try and throw a curve ball by taking a different vehicle, since taking her own would be too obvious. I checked the other tracking devices on Dylan's vehicles and nothing was out of place. Perfect! I would find her when she made her big escape.

I was pissed though, because I had been racking my brain all morning, trying to figure out what the hell she was up to. I came up empty. I had even called Steph to see if she had an idea, but she was just as baffled as I was.

Maybe she needed some alone time with her mother, without everyone poking around in her business. That had to be it, and Dylan was going to have to learn to let her go just a bit or he would end up smothering her. I could see that in her eyes this morning as we were leaving Misty's.

Brooke was a woman who needed her freedom. Although at times she was shy and timid, she was able to manage things on her own. These were observations that I'd made over the short time I'd known her. I understood how Dylan felt about bottling her up and keeping her safe, because that's how I felt about Stephanie too, but I knew well enough that you couldn't take a person's freedom away from them. And I think he was slowly coming to this realization.

I sat back and laughed trying to picture Alexi's reaction when he met Mandy. I couldn't wait to hear the stories and give him shit, because I knew he'd probably fuck her just for the fun of it. Alexi always came off as fun, loving caring guy, but deep down inside the guy was an animal. His good looks attracted women everywhere we went, but he wasn't the type to settle down. He'd make a woman feel like she was important in the moment, but kick her to the curb once he'd gotten what he wanted.

I guess you could classify him as a douche bag, as it certainly wouldn't be the first time I'd heard a woman refer to him that way. But Alexi never held anything back. He was always upfront about his intentions, and that meant-no strings attached.

The more I thought about Mandy, and all of her short, broken relationships, the more I realized that she just may be the perfect woman for Alexi. I swear she had dated and slept with every guy in the local Denver area. The night she came onto me, I ran as fast as I could. Sure, we would have had a good time, but I didn't want her running off telling Brooke how I liked to spank 'em and fuck 'em. There were just some things that were sacred and my sex life was one of them. However, Alexi was anything but innocent. He had his quirks and fetishes too, and if Mandy was lucky enough, she would soon find out just what kind of a freak Alexi could be.

  CHAPTER 16

  Brooke

Alexi and I had gotten caught in traffic, causing us to be about fifteen minutes late in meeting Mandy. I hadn't seen my best friend in so long and I wondered if I'd even recognize her. We pulled up outside of Manuel's, which is where I'd first agreed to meet Dylan before we were even dating. Back then, it was quiet, little place with hardly any patrons inside. Today was a much different scene, as the place was full and very busy.

"C'mon, Alexi," I said, grabbing his arm and walking into the restaurant. "I'm really excited to introduce you to my friend."

"Ugh," was all he said as he rolled his eyes.

I knew those two boys, Dylan and Tristan, had filled him in on my little plan to play matchmaker. They probably gave him a ton of shit about it, too. Dylan was always on my ass about my matchmaking ways, but I hoped for Mandy's sake, it paid off.

&
nbsp; I spied Mandy sitting over in the corner, waving at us like a raving lunatic. "Oh my God, Brooke! It's been so long," she said, hugging me tightly.

'Hey, Mandy. How have you been?"

"Great! I moved into a new condo and I'm working somewhere else, now."

"That's terrific news, it sounds like you're doing really well for yourself."

"I am. I love it! So, who's the hottie with you? Because he sure as hell doesn't look anything like Dylan," she said, tossing her hair over her shoulder.

"Oh, how rude of me. Mandy, this Alexi. Alexi, this is Mandy."

"Well, it's very nice to meet you, Alexi."

"Nice to meet you too, ma'am," he said, in his Russian accent.

"Where are you from, if you don't mind me asking?"

"Prague," he answered back, not giving her anything else.

"Cool. Would you care to join us for lunch? That's if Brooke doesn't mind."

"No. I don't mind, at all."

"Ah, Brooke," she said, clapping her hands. "I'm just so excited you're back, and that you're okay. I've missed you so much, and Dylan, oh that poor guy, it was heartbreaking watching him search for you. I made sure to call him every week to see if there was any news, and when there wasn't, the tone in his voice broke my heart. He's a keeper, Brooke. You need to take care of him. He's suffered a lot."

Alexi and I took a seat across from Mandy and ordered our food. I don't think he was quite accustomed to American food, let alone Mexican food, just yet.

"I know, Mandy. He is a keeper, that's for sure."

I got up and excused myself, "I need to use the restroom, I'll be right back."

My conversation with Mandy wasn't like it had once been. I use to be at ease talking with her about things, but so much had changed. I had changed. I didn't know what to say, anymore. It's as if my words were stuck and I could no longer convey what I was thinking or feeling. I felt socially retarded.

I now only felt comfortable around people in my tight, little circle. That couldn't be good. How was I going to interact with my peers when I went back to work? I was beginning to understand what it was that Dylan was concerned about all along. I had regressed, while everyone else had grown and moved along. Dylan understood, because he understood me. Just as he always had.
