Let's Do It

Took a couple of steps toward the front porch.
And then his memory flashed back to Real Sofia’s smile and laugh, and the one-two kick to his gut made his feet slow.
He remembered Toby’s arrogance and reminded himself that the man wasn’t his friend, so it wasn’t like Ethan owed him any loyalty or consideration. Not when Toby didn’t know—or seem to care—how to treat his woman.
And Ethan remembered Sofia’s unmistakable unhappiness.
He took one last step toward the porch, pressed Sofia’s scarf to his nose and filled his lungs with the thrilling scent of orange blossoms. He exhaled sharply, hoping that God still looked out for children and fools, because he was surely a fool.
Then he shoved the scarf deep into his pocket, wheeled around and went back to work.

About the Author
A recovering lawyer, Ann Christopher has been published since 2006 and writes contemporary romance and romantic suspense. Her very first book, a tragically bad starter novel, will forever remain under her bed, where it belongs. She’s also written a young adult horror novel, Monstrum. Now available, it’s the first in her Bella Monstrum trilogy.
When she’s not writing, Ann likes to do the following, in no particular order: read; cook; eat; hang out at Target looking for new stuff she doesn’t need; crochet; quilt; play with her 2 rescue dogs and 2 rescue cats; and travel the world with her family. Her favorite cities are Washington, D.C., Venice and Paris, in case you were wondering. She lives in Ohio with her husband and over-scheduled teenagers.
If you’d like to recommend a great book, share a recipe for homemade cake of any kind, or have a tip for getting your teens to do what you say the first time you say it, Ann would love to hear from you!
