“So, what are the rules of the exchange?” Jerome asked in a calm manner.

“Just take out whatever you guys wish to exchange for a piece of Dark Star Ore. If I am interested in it then the exchange will take place immediately,” Ryan said in a calm manner.

Everyone immediately took out the Heavenly Treasures and other kinds of treasures that weren’t of much use to them and could be exchanged for Dark Star Ore.

Ryan was not impressed with all the stuff that the participants had taken out, except for one thing. It was a weird egg of an unknown Death Fire Dual Attribute creature. The egg was just a little bigger than a human fist. He used his Asura eyes to look into the egg, and he was able to see a weird-looking scorpion-like creature inside it, with the body of a scorpion and the head and wings of a dragon. This creature had six eyes, three on each side of its head and two horns on its forehead. The creature had a Cultivation Level of Early Mortal Emperor Realm.

“You are extremely lucky, Ryan. This scorpion-like insect is not as simple as it looks,” Yama said with a grin. Ryan and Dargar perked their ears on hearing Yama’s words. They could tell that he knew more about it.

“This is a Winged Dragon Scorpion which is an Elemental Insect of Death and Fire. Its reputation is even more fearsome than that of Hell Mantis but I am unable to fathom why its egg has appeared on Grandura, as it will never hatch on Grandura due to the lack of extremely pure Death Elemental Energy here. The Death Elemental Energy requirements of this Elemental Insect are a whole level above those of Hell Mantis,” Yama said with a mysterious expression, but his words had shaken up Ryan and Dargar.

They had never thought that they would actually see an Elemental Insect on Grandura, that was even more dangerous and powerful than Lachesis. The best part was that Ryan had the means to rear this Elemental Insect. He couldn’t help but feel giddy deep down. He had been searching for an Elemental Insect of Death Fire Dual Attribute for creating his second Evil Fire Spirit, but he’d not been able to find one in the entire Forest of Tears.

So the rarity of Death Fire Dual Attribute insects can be imagined.

“Where did you get this egg?” Ryan asked the participant who had taken it out for exchange. He was a meek-looking boy, but Ryan could tell that it was all a façade. Ryan knew this participant quite well as he was also from the Third branch of Eternity Family Clan. His name was Arthur, and Ryan could sense an intense, well-hidden Killing intent from Arthur. It was not directed at him but at Yate, which intrigued Ryan.

“I found it lying in the Inner region of Death Mist Forest, but the most curious thing about it was that not a single Mortal Realm being dared to come close to it including Undead creatures. I tried to form an Equal contract with it, but it didn’t even react to my blood. It seems that this creature’s requirements just too high,” Arthur said with a self-mocking smile.

The expressions of everyone changed on hearing Arthur’s words. They looked at the normal-looking egg with different gazes. Many people wanted to try their luck in forming an Equal contract with the creature inside it, but they didn’t dare to show their desires as they would lose the chance of getting a piece of Dark Star Ore from Ryan.

“Let’s do the exchange. I am quite intrigued by this egg,” Ryan said with a smile. Arthur possessed a Weapon-shaped Martial Spirit so it was but natural that he would go to any lengths for a single piece of Dark Star Ore. The egg and a piece of Dark Star Ore exchanged hands under the envious glances of a thousand or so participants.

Ryan was feeling extremely giddy deep down, as he had finally found some good stuff to end the Divine Trials on a happy note.

“If there is anything you guys like, then tell me,” Ryan sent a Mental-message transmission to his fellow group-members. Raban and the rest were quick to act and quickly pointed out the things that they wanted.

Ryan quickly exchanged each of them with a piece of Dark Star Ore, and in many cases, Ryan gave a number of Dark Star Ores pieces which was sufficient for the entire group of the participant, with whom he had conducted an exchange. So it didn’t take long for Ryan to distribute all the pieces of Dark Star Ore in his possession.

Two-thirds of the one thousand or so participants were unable to get Dark Star Ore, so they could only look helplessly at the ones that had gotten hold of a piece of it, as those people had started to fuse the Dark Star Ore with their weapons the moment they got it, so the ones with ill-intentions would have no chance of robbing them.

Ryan had made sure that Yate’s group and the groups that had joined hands with his group didn’t get a single piece of Dark Star Ore. Yate and those other group-leaders were looking at Ryan with bloodshot eyes.

“Ryan, it is not a good thing to unnecessarily create enmity amongst us!” Yate warned as he clenched his fist. No one knew that Ryan was already out of Dark Star Ore pieces, which was the only reason why participants who had not received Dark Star Ore were still calm and composed, and were trying to talk things out with him.

“I am already out of Dark Star Ore pieces,” Ryan said with a laugh as the Emerald Fog around him started to spread in all directions. The participants were horror stricken as they quickly retreated, but they were unable to process Ryan’s words until it was too late.

Ryan and his fellow group-members knew that if they didn’t escape, then they would suffer the anger of around seven hundred participants.

Ryan was able to manipulate the Emerald Fog to carve a path for him and his fellow group-members back to the cave at the border of the Forest of Tears and the other Treasured Land where they’d hidden previously.

He had also made sure that no one was poisoned by his Emerald Fog, as he’d only intended to scare them.

  Ch. 29

Ryan and his fellow group-members were extremely excited when they returned to their cave. They quickly started using the Heavenly Treasures that they’d just acquired.

Ryan, on the other hand, left the cave soon after, as he couldn’t let the others see him create an Evil Fire Spirit. He just gave them an excuse and quickly left for a cave that he’d previously seen while he was out collecting Nascent Soul Fruits. He headed straight towards the Inner region where the cave was located.

In the meantime, the entire Outer region of Forest of Tears had become extremely chaotic as the seven hundred participants vented their frustrations at not being able to get a piece of Dark Star Ore. Ryan couldn’t help but smile on seeing their actions.

These seven hundred or so participants had wasted a lot of their time by coming to the Forest of Tears so their reactions can be understood. They quickly exited the Forest of Tears with the intention of finding some more medallions, or risking their lives to acquire a Heavenly Treasure, which would then allow them to reduce their losses to some extent.

Ryan reached the cave within a few hours. It was filled with extremely dense Miasma because of which no one was living in it. The source of this Miasma was a bunch of mushroom-like Plant Spirits that were growing in the cave, known as Nether Mushroom Plant Spirit. The Miasma produced by them is quite vicious, even for Undead creatures, as it corrodes the soul of the beings that come into contact with it.

Ryan got down to work immediately as only fifteen days were left until the end of the Divine Trials. He started to create runes of Evil Fire Spirit Martial Skills out of Devil’s flames, following which the runes then fused with the eggshell. It didn’t take him long to finish creating the runes and fusing them with the eggshell simultaneously. He next dropped his blood on the eggshell following which the egg was engulfed in Devil’s flames. The intensity of the Devil’s flames that burned the egg went up with each passing second, and the biology of the Winged Dragon Scorpion hatchling underwent drastic changes with each passing second. Ryan placed the egg to the side and started cultivating Fire Elemental Laws, to recover the Liquid Spirit Power of his Fire Attribute Soul Core. After a few hours, a pentagonal-shaped rune, which was entirely condensed out of Devil’s flames, flew out of the Winged Dragon Scorpio
n egg. The rune flew at extremely high speed towards Ryan, who had already stopped cultivating since its creation. He turned around and let it hit his back following which his shirt was burnt to nothingness. The rune fused with Ryan’s body which resulted in a pentagonal-shaped tattoo being formed on his back. Its shape started to undergo changes and it finally turned into the Vector tattoo of the Winged Dragon Scorpion. Ryan felt a very strong connection with the Winged Dragon Scorpion, and the Devil’s flame that burned the egg started subsiding with the formation of the Winged Dragon Scorpion Vector tattoo.

The Winged Dragon Scorpion which had been in hibernation for millions of years suddenly woke up. It was a little alarmed as it felt a very strong connection with an unknown being.

It had been in an extremely weak state, which was why it had been unable to break out of its egg. The first thing it did was to beg Ryan for some extremely pure Death Elemental Energy. Ryan didn’t waste any time and immediately started to channel Death Sword’s Death Elemental Energy to the it via the connection between them.

It was like rejuvenating water to the Winged Dragon Scorpion! It was overjoyed upon absorbing the Death Sword’s Death Elemental Energy as it had never absorbed such a pure Death Elemental Energy, even before coming to Grandura. It was like a Black Hole as it devoured the Death Elemental Energy voraciously.

As the Winged Dragon Scorpion started to recover its strength, it started to release a powerful Savage aura which was enough strike fear in the hearts of a Mortal Realm Being, though this aura was nothing in front of Ryan’s Baleful aura. The aura continued to increase as the Winged Dragon Scorpion continued to recover its strength.

All Mortal Realm Beings in the vicinity of the cave quickly left in fear. A smile appeared on Ryan’s face on seeing the Winged Dragon Scorpion recover its strength, as he knew that it was just a matter of time before it broke out of the egg. Ryan started to cultivate Fire Elemental laws in the meantime.

Ryan didn’t have to wait for long. After three days, cracks started to appear on the eggshell.

  Crack!!!

  Crack!!!

A black pincer pierced through the eggshell as the Winged Dragon Scorpion emerged from its egg. It was as big as the fist of an adult human and pitch-black in color. Its most striking features were its six blue eyes, three on each side of its draconic head, and two horns on its forehead which were burning with Devil’s flame. Its tail had a sharp sting which gave off a very dangerous feeling to anyone looking at it. The best part was that it was also a Primordial Inferno Undead creature just like Lachesis, which was something Ryan and his Martial Spirits had been expecting; but it was a male, unlike Lachesis.

The Winged Dragon Scorpion was looking at Ryan with immense curiosity, as he’d already given up on living after he’d come to Grandura, but then out of nowhere a human had turned him into a Heaven Defying existence. He had inherited memories, so he knew that he was no longer a Normal Winged Dragon Scorpion, and was extremely grateful to Ryan. If he had not hatched within the next few years, then he would definitely have died.

Ryan was extremely happy to see the Winged Dragon Scorpion, and extended his hand to pat his new partner. The Winged Dragon Scorpion didn’t mind and lowered his head a little as he could tell Ryan’s intention. The Savage aura around him disappeared. Ryan noticed that just like Lachesis, he lacked a presence and was akin to a ghost if he was not releasing an aura. If not for his connection to him, even he with his heightened senses and Asura eyes would have a hard time keeping a tab on his movements.

The Winged Dragon Scorpion started to behave like a cat within seconds of Ryan’s patting him. For some reason, it liked it, just like Lachesis did. Ryan looked at the Winged Dragon Scorpion in a stunned manner before a smile appeared on his face and he started patting him even more.

“What should we name him?” Ryan asked in an excited manner.

“How about Enkil?” Yama suggested, and Ryan and Dargar liked the name.

“Do you like the name Enkil?” Ryan asked the Winged Dragon Scorpion. He readily agreed to the name and he nodded his head.

“OK. You will be called Enkil from now onwards,” Ryan said as he again patted Enkil.

Ryan called back Lachesis, in order to introduce her to Enkil. Ryan had allowed her to play around after he had acquired Nascent Soul Fruits, and it didn’t take long for her to return. Lachesis looked at Enkil with caution, though she could tell as she entered the cave, that he was just like her.

“Lachesis, this is our new friend. His name is Enkil. Try to get along with each other, and you can have some fun,” Ryan introduced Enkil to Lachesis. Lachesis and Enkil simultaneously nodded their heads as they looked at each other, as if greeting each other. It wasn’t long after that they started to play with each other, and Lachesis no longer looked at Enkil with cautiousness. Ryan, Yama and Dargar were happy to see this scene.

Soon both of them flew out of the cave to play while Ryan sent his consciousness into his Soul World as Earl had again started to emit powerful energy ripples which had again turned the white side of his Soul World chaotic.

“He is at the final stage of his mutation,” Yama said as he looked at Earl in an odd manner.

“Let’s hope that’s for the best, and that he gains some terrifying Innate Ability,” Ryan said as he looked at Earl with excitement.

On Endless Divine World, Solomon, Heron and Herman had ugly expressions plastered on their faces when they saw the participants that had absorbed Heretical Fiery Liquid being executed. This had more than diverted their minds from Ryan, so they had no idea about Enkil, but if they had known about him, then they would have already have spat mouthfuls of blood.

“I will return in a few days. If there is some problem, then contact me and I will return immediately,” Solomon said as he disappeared from his single-room house. Herman and Heron sighed as they too left Solomon’s house and returned to their respective cities.

They knew that it would take some time for their father to calm down and forgive himself.

On Grandura, a gloomy atmosphere shrouded Heavenly City because the funerals of the participants that had absorbed the Heretical Fiery Liquid had taken place only a few days before. The Business District which was generally the noisiest part of the city had also been devoid of any kind of noise since the day of the funerals.

Ten days of mourning had been declared by Rudolf and Nero following the participants’ funerals. Sundering Valley was no different from Heavenly City. The number of people in Sundering Valley had drastically reduced following the disappearance of the screens in the sky.

Sheldon, Danr and Brian were no longer present in Sundering Valley. They had only gone there to check out Ryan’s Evil Fire Spirit, so they had no reason to be there anymore.

Only the family members of those participants who were still inside the Treasure Space remained in Sundering Valley.

Ryan, Yama and Dargar were looking at Earl in an excited manner as he had just finished his mutation and could wake up anytime. They soon had bewildered expressions on their faces as they looked at Earl, though, as the latter had transformed dramatically into something unknown.

Numerous seals appeared on his body right after his mutation had finished. The appearance of those seals meant that he’d gained Innate Abilities though, and they’d all been sealed by the Heavenly Laws. Earl had become a Death Fire Dual Attribute Martial Spirit just like Yama, which had shocked them as it was not easy for Martial Spirits to gain an attribute. So now Ryan had two Death Fire Dual Attribute Soul Cores.

Earl opened his eyes soon after. They had become manyfold colder and more fear-inducing after his mutation. He had also started to release Baleful aura just like Yama, which meant that he had become a Taboo Martial Spirit. Earl’s Baleful aura was quite potent and vicious, but it was still incomparable to Yama’s Baleful aura.

“It seems that I have gained a lot this time,” Earl said with a laugh while Ryan, Yama and Dargar had dazed expressions.

  “
What the hell did you evolve into?” Dargar asked, as they could tell that Earl had changed into a completely different being.

“I am still a Heavenly Fire Elemental Martial Spirit, but of a different kind. But I have gained all the Innate Abilities of Heretical Fire Devils so it isn’t wrong to say that I have mutated into a Heretical Fire Devil Martial Spirit,” Earl said with a hysterical laugh.

Ryan, Yama and Dargar were agape on hearing this from Earl, but soon smiles appeared on their faces.

Their expressions changed though when they noticed that Ryan’s body was shrouded in Unholy black light and Fiery red light. One of the seals on Earl’s body disappeared following which information appeared in Ryan’s mind regarding the new Innate Ability that he’d gained from Earl.

That Innate Ability was the trademark Innate Ability of Heretical Fire Devils which allows them to gain insights and increase their understanding in both Fire Elemental Laws and Death Elemental Laws whenever they burn living beings to death with their flames. Because of that, this Innate Ability was named Devil’s Enlightenment.

That Innate Ability was the main reason that Heretical Fire Devils were able to cultivate at an astonishing pace compared to other kinds of devils. Ryan had gained this new Innate Ability from Earl due to Earl’s successful mutation. It was not that Ryan was special in any manner: every Martial Artist that mutates his or her Martial Spirit is able to unseal one of its Innate abilities.

“What the hell!” Dargar said with a look of disbelief. The expressions of Ryan and Yama were no different. The Innate Ability that Ryan had received from Earl was too Heaven defying in every sense.

“Holy shit!!” Earl cursed in disbelief. He had never expected that Ryan would gain Devil’s Enlightenment from him straight after his mutation.

“Devil’s Enlightenment will allow us to quickly gain strength,” Yama said, as he was the first one amongst Ryan and his Martial Spirits to regain his composure.
