Donut Swipe Right

“I have a friend who helps me research people when I need him to.”
“Research?” She frowns.
“I’m a very successful man, Elizabeth, but I didn’t get this way without carefully vetting and choosing the people around me.”
“You have your own personal private investigator on speed dial?”
“I guess you could put it that way.” I chuckle, pulling her closer against me. She sighs and rests her hands against my chest.
“Darcy, we’re so different—” she starts, but I’ve prepared a well-thought-out rebuttal.
“Which is one of the things I love most about you. You aren’t from my world,” I admit, hoping she doesn’t take what I’m saying as an insult. “During the three days we spent talking, I felt more honest with you than anyone in my life. It wasn’t a game. It wasn’t calculated. It was real. The connection was easy and natural. And then that night… Fuck, Lizzy, I never expected it to be that strong. But it was, and it was perfect. Tell me you felt it, too. Tell me you aren’t going to walk out my door.”
She shakes her head, pretending to play with one of the buttons on my shirt. “I feel it, too. In fact, I was going to reactivate my account tonight, after work, and message you.”
“Then you’re not mad?”
“No, just the opposite.” She looks up me before rising to her tiptoes and placing a gentle kiss on my lips. I hold steady, wanting to get everything out in the open before fucking her on top of my desk. “Is your name really Fitzwilliam Darcy?”
“Yes,” I laugh loudly. The irony of our names didn’t fall short on me. I took it as a sign, furthering my belief that we are meant to be. “But everyone calls me Will.”
“Everyone calls me Lizzy, everyone except my mother. Who, by the way, gave me my name because she believes in love so much, she wanted me to have my own Mr. Darcy.”
“Then it seems this was mean to be, because if I told you why my mother gave me the name Fitzwilliam, you’d think I was copying your story.”
“Aren’t we a pair?”
“I love you, Elizabeth,” I whisper, leaning down to claim her lips. My body is humming with need, and I’m done waiting to feel her wrapped around me again.
“I love you, too, Will,” she whispers back, closing the distance. She opens her mouth to me, deepening the kiss immediately.
“Lizzy,” I say against her lips.
“Hmm?” she whimpers.
“I’m going to fuck you now, but you have to be quiet. Do you think you can do that?”
“Yes.”
“Good,” I say, breaking away and carrying her to my desk. Fuck, this is going to be good. I’ve been fantasizing about taking her like this for days. “Now, be a good girl for me and strip.”
Reaching a hand underneath my desk, I press a hidden button, locking the door to my office. The sound of the lock clicking into place causes her to smile knowingly.
“Yes, Mr. Darcy.”
EPILOGUE
Elizabeth
We did come from two different worlds.
But we were right for one another, and we knew it from the start.
Our differences balanced each other evenly, and with the power of love on our side, we overcame and surpassed every obstacle they placed in our way.
Will wanted to get married right away. I thought we should take our time. He won the marriage argument the day I found out we were expecting our first child, six weeks after our afternoon in his office. It was like fate telling us how it was supposed to be.
We had a quick ceremony on a private beach in Hawaii. Dee, Linc, and my niece, Emma, were the witnesses. It was romantic and perfect.
Dee likes to claim credit for introducing us, leaving out the part about the app. Will and I laugh about it, grateful she made me swipe right that day. She still likes to make dirty references using donuts, but I don’t mind them so much anymore because life is too short, and everyone loves a good donut. Glazed or filled. Sometimes both at the same time.
But a little word of advice for those of you still looking for your Mr. Darcy in a world filled of Mr. Wickhams.
Donut swipe right unless you’re willing to find love.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Surviving on caffeine most days, Tracie Douglas lives in the mountains of Southern California with her husband, two children, and one dog. She spends her days chasing children and the fur baby, all while maintaining the illusion of sanity.
Her nights are spent toiling away at the keyboard, creating a world filled with hot men and strong women. She loves to read and write all types of books but tends to lean on the darker side of the spectrum. She’s pretty handy with a crochet hook, too.
Tracie loves to hear from her readers!
