Healing Him (The Den Boys Book 2)

by A. T Brennan

As I sat back I studied Cody, trying to see how he was doing with what had just happened.

He was sitting with his eyes closed and his lips slightly parted. They were wet and pink from my kisses, and I had to fight the urge to lean in and kiss him again.

“Cody?” I asked when he opened his eyes and looked at me. “Was that okay?”

“That was amazing.” He touched his fingers to his lips and smiled. “Wow.”

I knew that was Cody’s first kiss, and I was honored he’d chosen me to share it with. Love bloomed out into my chest as I watched him, but then Jonah flashed into my mind and I felt a surge of regret go through me.

I had no idea what to do. It was true I was in love with Cody, and I’d told him the truth about how not being able to be with him didn’t bother me. But I couldn’t deny the feelings I had for Jonah, and was mourning the loss of what could have been.

  “Isaac?”

“Sorry. Just thinking.” I shook my head and focused on him.

  “About Jonah?”

  “Yeah.”

“I meant it when I said I didn’t want to get in the way of you and him.”

  “I don’t understand.”

“Why don’t you go out with him again and see what’s really there. If you want to start something with him I’ll be okay with it. I promise, it won’t hurt me.”

“Are you sure? I feel like things shifted here.”

“They did. But I’m sure. We don’t have to decide anything right now. Okay?”

“What did you think of him? He said he flirted with you but you freaked a bit.”

Cody bit his lip before shrugging. “I thought he was hot, and nice. I liked talking with him and wanted to flirt and be coy and all that shit, but he reminded me of...”

I put my hand on Cody’s thigh when he trailed off, and noticed how he didn’t even flinch.

“I get it. He is kind of an alpha male.”

“Is it hot, being with a guy like that?”

“It is.” I nodded, grinning. “I’ve only ever been with guys who consider me the alpha. I love the fact that he’s big and strong. Like he could do anything with me and I’d love every second of it.”

As soon as the words were out of my mouth I wished I could take them back, but Cody’s breath caught as his face flushed.

  “Wow.”

  “Yeah.”

  “So you’ll see him again?”

  “I’ll see him again.”

  “Good.”

  “Are you working today?”

  “In about an hour.”

  “Want a ride?”

“Thanks. Chill while I take a shower and get ready?”

  “Cool.”

I watched as Cody stood and headed into his bedroom.

I had no idea what the fuck had just happened. I’d kissed Cody, he’d told me he loved me, but then he’d wanted me to see Jonah again so I could sort out my feelings. Talking about my hook up had turned him on and prompted our first kiss... what the actual fuck?

I’d been hoping for less complicated when I’d come here, now it felt like I could barely see complicated in the rear view mirror.

Choosing between them should have been easy. I was in love with Cody and he loved me, but I couldn’t just walk away from Jonah. It was true I didn’t know him very well yet, but it felt like there was something there. Something very real and worth exploring.

  Chapter Six

  Jonah

  “Hello?”

I picked up my cell phone without looking at the call ID. The only people who called me instead of texting were my parents and a few of my siblings so I assumed it was one of them.

  “Jonah?”

  “Isaac, hi.”

I recognized the voice on the other end of the line immediately, and looked up from my computer screen.

“Hi. Is this an okay time to call?”

  “Yeah, I’m just at work.”

“You must be really dedicated, it’s almost nine o’clock,” he said lightly.

“It’s my turn to stay until the night worker comes in. Makes for a long day,” I explained, a smile tugging at my lips. “I’m just working on some files. How are you doing?”

“Good. Still waiting for my job site to open up again.”

It had been three days since I’d left Isaac’s house after our little talk about Cody.

I didn’t know what it was about Isaac, but from the moment I’d met him, I’d felt something. I was drawn to him, and it wasn’t just the fact that he was gorgeous or had been receptive to my flirting.

I hadn’t been able to get that night out of my head. He’d been so perfect, so beautiful. I’d never had a partner I connected with like I did with Isaac. Everything about our encounter had driven me crazy. Every kiss had enflamed my desire, and every touch had made me crave more. I’d been right there on the edge myself when he’d admitted how close he was, and taking the time to jerk him off had given me a chance to calm the fuck down so I didn’t nut the second he touched me.

Watching his pleasure, hearing his cries... it had been amazing. He’d fully given in to the moment, and it had taken every ounce of self-control I had to stop after we’d both found our pleasure.

I’d wanted him, fuck I’d wanted him, but I hadn’t been able to get Cody, and by extension, David, out of my mind as soon as I’d come back to earth after that mind melting orgasm.

“Making good use of your time off, are we?” I asked teasingly.

“If you call gaming and sleeping in making good use, then you betcha.”

“As long as you’re enjoying yourself.” I chuckled.

“So, I talked to Cody last night.”

“Oh?” My heart sank at the tone of his voice. He sounded serious, and serious usually didn’t work out so well for me.

“It was a little surreal,” he said after a pause.

  “What do you mean?”

“He admitted that he has feeling for me.”

“By the tone of your voice I’m guessing they’re strong feelings...”

  “He said he loves me.”

  “And you love him.”

“Yeah.” He sighed. “But that’s not the surreal part.”

  “What do you mean?”

“He asked me about us, when we left together.”

“What did he want to know?”

“He wanted me to tell him about what we did. In detail.”

  “How did he react?”

Did Cody have some sort of masochistic side where he wanted to hear about things that would hurt him?

  “It turned him on.”

  “What?”

“Like really turned him on. He kissed me.”

“Is that the first time he’s kissed you?”

“It’s the first time I’ve been able to do more than give him a hug. The last time I touched his thigh he panicked.”

  “And he kissed you?”

“Yeah. Then he wanted me to kiss him.”

  “How did he handle that?”

“He was fine. He let me touch his cheek, use my tongue. It was night and day from how he usually is.”

“So what does this mean? Are you and he a thing now?”

“No. He realized I have feelings for you too and he told me to explore things with you.”

“And you think he’s really okay with that?”

“I think so. It’s kind of fucked up, but I think he really is.”

  “So what do you want?”

“I want to see you again, if that’s okay.”

“Yeah, I’d like that.” I couldn’t help grinning, even though my mind was racing. “What are you doing tomorrow night?”

  “Not a thing.”

“Want to come to my place. I make a mean spaghetti and meatballs.”

  “Sounds awesome.”

“Great.” Just then I heard the front door chime. I stood and headed to the main doors. “I have to go, someone just came in. I’ll text you my address. Does seven work for you?” />
  “Seven’s perfect.”

“Okay, then I’ll see you tomorrow.”

  “Bye.”

“Bye.” I ended the call as I turned the corner and almost dropped my phone when I saw who was standing in front of the main desk. “Cody?”

  “Hi. Can we talk?”

“Um, sure. Do you want to come to my office?”

  “Yeah.”

I nodded for him to follow me, my head spinning.

He didn’t seem as nervous this time, and he’d been able to look me in the eye while we’d talked. That was progress.

When we were in my office I closed the door. I motioned for him to sit on one of the plush chairs I used for my sessions, while I sat on my desk chair.

  “So, what’s up, Cody?”

“I hope you don’t mind me coming here.”

“Of course not. Is everything okay?”

  “Have you talked to Isaac?”

“I just got off the phone with him.”

  “Oh.”

“Cody, are you here because you need a friend, or a therapist. I need to know which hat to wear.”

  “Friend.”

  “Okay. I can do that.”

“I’ve been thinking a lot about things, and I...”

  “You what?”

“I’m confused, but I can’t get the two of you out of my head.”

  “Have you changed your mind—”

“Not at all. I mean, I can’t stop picturing the two of you together.”

“Isaac told me how that affected you.”

“Do you think I’m a freak?” he asked in a small voice.

“Not at all. It turns you on, there’s nothing messed up about that.”

“Do things like that turn you on?”

“Picturing two men I find attractive being intimate? Yeah, it does.”

At that moment an image of Cody and Isaac laying together in my bed, their lithe bodies wrapped around each other as they kissed flashed through my mind. The picture was so vivid and hot my dick instantly hardened, and the fact that I was wearing dress pants instead of jeans made that fact extremely obvious.

“What are you thinking about?” Cody asked softly as he looked down at my crotch, biting his lip before looking back up at me.

  “You and Isaac together.”

  “You get it, then.”

“I get it.” I nodded, my voice husky.

Cody looked at me closely, and after a moment he stood and walked toward me.

“Cody?” I asked when he stopped in front of me.

  “Can you stand up?”

I nodded and stood. We were less than a foot apart and I could almost feel the heat coming off his body, even with the distance.

“I want to try something. Is that okay?” he asked, looking up at me. His blue eyes were bright and open, and I didn’t see any fear in them.

  “Okay.”

Cody pulled in a deep breath and stepped closer to me, closing the distance between us. We weren’t quite touching, but I could feel the material of his shirt brushing against mine.

Slowly, almost gingerly, he moved his hands and placed them on my shoulders. I could feel jolts of electricity sparking where he was touching me, and then he moved up on his tiptoes as he gently pulled me down to meet him.

I instinctively held my breath as he kissed me, afraid of scaring him or pushing things out of his comfort zone. His lips were soft against mine, but there was some pressure in his kiss. I balled my hands into fists and kept them at my sides, barely managing to bite back a groan as his tongue touched my bottom lip.

The kiss was pretty chaste and innocent, but it rocked something deep inside me and a floodgate of emotions opened up. Unable to stay passive any longer I parted my lips and ran the tip of my tongue over the seam of Cody’s lips. When he opened to me, welcoming me into his mouth with a sigh, I couldn’t stop a moan from escaping my lips.

“Try touching me, please,” Cody whispered against my lips.

Still kissing him and keeping it soft and sweet, I moved my hands so they rested on his hips. His grip tightened on my shoulders, and after a moment he pulled back.

I searched his eyes, looking for any sign of panic or fear, but all I saw was wonder and awe.

  “Cody?”

“Wow.” He smiled up at me.

“It was,” I agreed. “Are you okay?”

  “I’m good. Really good.”

“Can I ask what’s going on? Or do I not want to know?”

Cody stepped back so he wasn’t craning his neck to look up at me. “I might be completely off base, but you were interested in me, right? When we first me?”

  “I was.”

“And you’re interested in Isaac now.”

  “I am.”

“Do you think you can be interested in both of us, at the same time?”

“I don’t understand what you’re asking. Do you want to date both of us?”

By the way Cody’s cheeks flushed and he bit his lip, I figured I’d hit the nail on the proverbial head.

“How would this work? What do you want?” I asked.

I’d never been one for tradition and I’d dated more than one man at the same time before, but the relationships had been separate and things had been casual. Something told me things wouldn’t stay casual with either Isaac or Cody, and I needed to know if I was just a placeholder until the two of them got together.

“I want both of you.... at the same time.”

“Do you mean literally at the same time? Like the three of us date? Or just see us simultaneously?”

“Like the three of us date.”

My breath caught at the thought of getting to be with both of them, to experience both men at the same time.

I’d never been in a poly relationship, but had been in a few threesomes before and they’d been hot as fuck. The thought of being in a threesome with Cody and Isaac was enough to make my already hard cock swell even more. I was getting dangerously close to blue balls territory.

“Do you think that could work?” he asked softly.

“I’d be open to it.” I nodded. “Have you talked to Isaac?”

“Not yet. I wanted to know if I could...”

“If you could kiss me too?”

  “Yeah.”

“Do you think Isaac would be into something like this?”

“I don’t know. He’s a relationship guy. He doesn’t mess around unless there’s something there.”

“Why don’t you talk to him? He’s supposed to come over to my house tomorrow for dinner. Talk to him, see what he wants. If he’s open to it then come to dinner with us and we’ll test out how the dynamic works. If he’s not interested then we’ll figure something out, okay?”

“Okay.” Cody smiled and licked his lip. That simple move sent a shockwave of arousal through me and I cursed my overactive hormones. “I should go.”

“Okay. I need to do my rounds anyway.”

“Okay, well. I guess we’ll talk later?”

“Of course. Have a good night, Cody.”

  “You too, Jonah.”

I watched as Cody left my office and headed toward the main doors while I stood frozen in place.

I was a bit shell shocked over the entire thing. Twenty minutes ago I’d been sure I was being pushed aside so Cody and Isaac could start something. Ten minutes ago I’d had a date with Isaac planned and a chance to still be in the picture. Now I had the opportunity to be in a threeway relationship with both men, and it had been Cody’s idea.

  What the actual fuck?

Shaking my head I left my office and went to do my rounds. At this point everything was out of my hands. I’d have to wait until tomorrow night to see what was going to happen, if anything.

  * * * * *

At five minutes to seven there was a knock on my door.

I’d spent the entire day trying not to think about what might happen tonight. I’d gone to work, put everything I had into the kids and then come home with ju
st enough time to jump in a quick shower before I had to start cooking. At the moment I had my homemade sauce simmering, the meatballs were slow baking in the oven before I added them to the sauce, and the water was ready to go when it was time to cook the noodles. I’d tossed a store made salad in a bowl and everything was ready, except the place settings.

I hadn’t known whether to set the table for two or three, so I hadn’t bothered.

In all honesty there was a part of me that had been sure Isaac would call or text telling me tonight was off. That he wasn’t ready for anything with me and wanted to explore things with Cody. Or worse, that he was put off by my eagerness to be with both of them.

Taking a deep breath I made my way to my front door and pulled it open, not knowing what to expect.

Standing on my doorstep was Isaac, with Cody standing behind him.

Both men had put on dress shirts and pants, and they were gorgeous. I momentarily pictured them undressing each other as they kissed softly and sensuously, but before I could fall into a full blown fantasy, I stepped aside to let them in.

“Hi.” Isaac paused in front of me and tilted his head up for a kiss. I gladly obliged, trying to ignore the tingle left on my lips after he pulled away.

  “Hi.”

I turned to Cody and waited to see what he would do. After a moment he stepped up to me and moved up on his tip toes. I closed the distance between us and gave him a sweet and chaste kiss, not sure what he would be ready for just yet.

Wordlessly I lead them to the living room and motioned for them to take a seat. I noticed how they sat on the loveseat together, their knees touching, and I felt my dick twitch in appreciation as Isaac rested his hand on Cody’s thigh.

“So I assume Cody talked to you.” I looked at Isaac.

“He did.” He nodded and looked between us. “I’ve never done anything like this before.”

“Neither have I,” I said honestly.

“It doesn’t feel wrong, does that make sense?” Isaac looked at Cody and then at me. “It’s almost like it feels...”

  “Natural?” I supplied.

“Yeah. Like it’s supposed to be this way.”

“Yeah.” I nodded and glanced at Cody. “What do you think?”

“Same as yesterday.” He put his hand over Isaac’s, which was still on his leg, and I tried not to smile at the contact. Cody was already more comfortable around both of us. “This is what I want.”
