  She wanted to say something memorable in response, but was speechless. Instead, she nodded her head vigorously to tell him yes. He laughed and slipped the elegant diamond ring onto her finger.

  Mac swept her into his arms and kissed her. Brenda melted into his embrace. She had everything: her bed and breakfast, a town filled with people she considered family, and now Mac Rivers. Words finally came back to her. She leaned back from his lips and looked up at him.

  “I’m the happiest woman in Sweetfern Harbor.”

  He enfolded her in his arms again and found it impossible to let go for a long, long time.
