Leo: Book 6 (The Zodiac Twin Flame Series)
Page 16
The tears that sprung to Virgo’s eyes were quickly wiped away before anyone could see them. It was time for her to accept who she was and share it with the world. I couldn’t see why she was so worried. We had all accepted each other a long time ago. Many people were gay, so why shouldn’t one of us be?
“Plus, your twin flame could just be another pretty girl for me to ogle.”
“Urgh, don’t be so sexist! Thank you… but go!” Virgo gestured at the band.
I kissed her cheek and went over to them. “What are you idiots doing? Make sure none of you get obvious erections, it will be embarrassing.”
They ribbed me back as we waited to go on. It was the fun and games of being in a band with my best friends. Friends that knew me as Leo, the human, not Leo, the Zodiac.
“Leo?” Her voice made me smile.
Turning, I went over to my other best friend. “I’m glad they let you in. Hello, gorgeous!”
“You never greet me like that,” Megan said, handing me the baby as I made rocking motions.
“Oh, sorry, hello, gorgeous.” I kissed the baby’s warm cheek as she slept soundly.
I had never seen anything so beautiful, vowing to always protect her no matter what. Megan had forgiven me for the incident with Nick. I had made up a story about it being a mix-up. She had bought it, which helped me, but I regretted having to lie to her.
“Have you noticed, Leona, he’s grown up? He no longer makes fun of mummy. Or, not as much, anyway.”
I almost choked on my own saliva. “Leona?”
“Leo, five minutes!” The backstage manager waved Megan away, frowning when he saw the baby.
“She wanted to see her godfather…and namesake…perform his first bigger show.”
Blinking away the tears, I stared at Megan. She shook her newly bleached blond hair out of her eyes and winked at me. “Just make sure you get me an introduction to the stars.”
Laughing, I handed Leona back to her. “You don’t need an introduction, you’re more famous than me!”
Megan really was the perfect female friend. I loved her dearly, and now, she had named her baby after me. I couldn’t ask for anything more. My chest swelled as I kissed both on them on the forehead. “Thank you.”
Waving me away, Megan pointed to the stage. “Go blow their minds, singer boy. I’ll be waiting for you to find me a man when I’ve got rid of the baby fat. I’ll help you find a woman, too.”
I couldn’t stop the grin that came to my face. “Don’t worry, love, I’ll have all the women soon enough. All the women!”
Turning as she laughed at me, I joined my band as we were shuffled towards the stage. Amelia crossed my mind as I snuck a look out to the crowd. She might not be in my life as my woman, but she was in my heart as my soulmate. And, I had a feeling we would one day meet again, not to be together, but just to see how we were getting on.
“Are you ready?” the stage manager asked.
Looking at my band, I raised my eyebrows. Their own grins matched mine. We were born ready. It was our time to share our music with the world. Nothing we had written or produced was pointless. There was meaning to every lyric, chord and drumbeat. And it was time to show them who we were.
“Leo?” someone shouted just as I was about to run onstage.
Turning, I fist pumped the air when I saw my siblings lining the edge of the stage. I hadn’t noticed them in the VIP area as I got ready to perform. They all fist bumped the air, celebrating my success. Not just my dream coming true with my music. But, with the uniting of another Zodiac. Another notch in the war with Nick.
And so far, we were winning.
