"Tara, I want you to know that Diana never meant anything to me. I was stupid and just wanted sex. I'm sorry she harassed you. I want you to know that I will always love you. I will never forget our time together. And I will always be here if you need a friend."
"I'm sorry for hurting you by being with Rob. But I think deep down we were rushing the wedding because we both knew we were over. I will always love you, too. And if you need me, I'm here."
"I think it's time to get Aidan home. Come on, bro. Let's go get you some coffee." Jack said his goodbyes and led Aidan out the door.
I looked over at Rob, and his mouth was bleeding a little bit. I immediately went to him.
"That looks like it hurts."
"Not nearly as much as losing you would hurt. I would fight for you any day, Tara. You are more than worth it."
I placed a soft kiss on the corner of his mouth then led him to the kitchen and cleaned up the blood. After that we went upstairs and got back in bed, snuggled close together.
I felt completely content in his arms, even though my heart was broken a little bit for Aidan.
When I saw Rob fight for me, I knew we would be okay. I lost one man that night only to gain the one that was my true match. With his arm around my waist, I settled in to sleep, knowing that it had all worked out perfectly in the end.
