Chapter One
Ciera-
I have been trying to call Juelz all night, and he is not answering his phone. Normally I wouldn’t worry because he would always follow up with a text if he was busy. Hell, I didn’t get that either, so now I’m officially worried.
“Ari, can I come in?” I asked knocking on my sister’s door.
“Yeah, come in boo,” she responded.
“Morning babes, have you spoken to Zelan at all last night or this morning?” I asked Ari as she sat up in bed.
“No, I haven’t, what’s the matter Ci?” Ari asked, getting out of bed to grab her cell phone.
“I don’t know, I have been calling Juelz all night and I got no answer. I started calling this morning and I got no answer, nor did I get a text and I normally get a text to let me know that he was busy,” I told her. Ari started calling Zelan, and she got the same thing, no answer. I was worried but I’m going to kick negativity in the ass and have only positive thoughts.
“Look let’s get ourselves ready for a day of shopping, once they get our calls, and messages they will call us back. Remember they sent us out here for a reason,” Ari stated, and I agreed. Going back to my room, I just had to take it all in. This house, and my bedroom was so freaking gorgeous there is nothing that I would change about it. The bedroom was the size of the family room downstairs, and that room is huge.
There was a sitting area where I could look out into the beautiful blue water, a chandelier, and there is a shower out on the balcony. The way they have it setup is so dope, it had different marbles and stones. Benches adorned the sides of the shower, and a shower bed was also inside. That shit was just sexy as hell, I wish I had a man to try it out with. I can only imagine the shower head shooting from everywhere and making love on that damn bed. Wheeeeewww let me go take a cold shower, looking at this shit and my raging hormones got me on one this morning.
I was finally dressed and went downstairs, to join the rest of the family.
“Good morning everyone,” I spoke as I walked in the kitchen there was a chef standing at the stove cooking breakfast.
“Good morning baby, how did you sleep? Grams asked me.
“I slept ok, I have been a little worried about Juelz. I can’t reach him, and every time I call him it goes straight to voicemail.
“Baby don’t stress about that, the boys are going to be fine. He is working Ciera, and when he is working it’s hard to answer the phone in his line of work. Let him handle his business baby, and I promise you when he is secure he will call you. Now let’s enjoy this meal and the fine ass chef that prepared it,” Grams said, and I laughed at my beautiful grandmother.
When I tell y’all Laila is beautiful, my grams is the SHIT! Don’t for one second think that she is a grandmother wearing a housecoat and slippers all day. Lai has a coke bottle shape, face beat to the GAWDS all the time, and just stunning, CRAZY but stunning. The only time she is not wearing make-up is when she is going to war.
“Ok, I will relax and enjoy my vacation Grams,” I spoke, and the Chef came over to me.
“Good morning ma’am, what would you like for breakfast?” he asked.
“I would like a veggie omelet, with pepper jack cheese,” I smiled and very satisfied with my order, I was ready to eat.
“Give me five minutes, and I will have your breakfast ready,” the Chef said. I looked at Ms. Simone and she was on the phone with someone smiling. I wonder if she has herself a lil boo thang. Toya and Ari were in deep conversation, so I decided to go sit and see what they had going on.
“Hey ladies, what’s up?” I asked, as I took my seat.
“Nothing much, just ready to enjoy this beautiful day. What do we have on the agenda?” Toya asked.
“We’re going shopping and to tour the Island. I heard Grams, Ms. Cynt, and Ms. Simone talking and we’re having a BBQ tonight, the Chef is going to cook our food for us,” Ari spoke.
“Morrrniingg everybody! Ci Ci, I love you, my brother, and my sister!” Kari yelled as she came running in the kitchen up to me kissing my belly. That little girl was so beautiful. I loved everything about her and couldn’t ask for a better big sister for my children.
“Awwwww, that is so stinking cute,” Ari said, as she smiled at me and Kari.
“Kari you want some eggs and bacon?” Ms. Simone asked her.
“I want what Ci Ci is eating,” she said looking at the plate the Chef just sat in front of me.
“I will make her a smaller version now ma’am,” the Chef stated.
“Thank you, this looks delicious,” I told him. Once we got breakfast out the way, everyone got dressed and were ready to head out for the day. My mind traveled to Julez often, but I was not going to keep calling him. I pray they were all alright, I would just wait for him to call me.
Chapter Two
Juelz-
My heart hit the floor from the words that this dirty bitch just spit out of her mouth. My gun was letting loose, right into her ass! She deserved every bullet I pumped. How could someone be this fucking spiteful and conniving? Gunfire was still blazing out around me, but I just couldn’t focus.
“Juelzzzzz,” Zelan screamed and bought me back to the task at hand. Our men were laying down Javier’s men. I was looking around for Javier and didn’t see him anywhere. The gunfire finally ceased. I turn to look at Kenya; she was dead, and I still wasn’t satisfied.
“Juelzzzz, come on bro. Javier got away, we need to get out of here!” Zelan yelled. There were so many dead bodies, thank god my men were all accounted for. Javier thought we were outnumbered because he didn’t see my men. But they were around and ready for whatever the night would bring.
“Yo, did that BITCH say that Kari wasn’t your daughter?’ Zelan asked. I nodded because I couldn’t speak, I just felt my body shutting down. I was lost for words, this couldn’t be true. I can’t understand why Kenya would do this shit to Kari. I turned around again and let another round go off into her lifeless body; that was for fucking with my daughter’s heart. Kari was my baby, and if somebody told me that she wasn’t mine, I would be fucking destroyed. I raised that little girl. As soon as she came out of the womb I was in-love at first sight. There was no way in hell that she wasn’t my child, I don’t think I could live with the fact of knowing that.
“I need my daughter Zel, I need her right NOW!” I yelled.
“Ok, we will go to her bro. Let’s go get cleaned up, and we will fly to the Island in a few hours,” Zelan spoke, and I just nodded.
“Make sure everyone understands that we are at war with the Ramirez Cartel. I have a bullet with Javier’s name on it, and I will get my mark. We will have to find a new supplier when we get back. If we don’t, we are going to have a big problem regarding our product,” Z
elan told Meek
“I’m on it,” Meek said as he walked away on his phone. As the cars moved through the city, I could only thank god that we made it out safe and Xavier and Kenya were dead. To find out that Kenya and I were never married was a big relief. But someone might as well have shot me dead, for me to hear that Kari wasn’t mine. The only thing I needed right now was my daughter, and I needed her quick. This would destroy Kari, I could never tell her anything like this. Fucccccckkkkkkk! I wish I could bring Kenya back, just to kill her ass all over again.
“Man, we gone get through this shit bruh. I’m so sorry you had to go through all of this shit, just know that you have a real one in Ciera. Please don’t treat her different because of all the shit you went through. Please don’t shut down on life again, we just gone figure this out and move on with our lives,” Zelan stated.
I understood why he felt he had to say that to me. Because when Kenya came up missing, my life was consumed with me trying to find her. When I thought she was murdered, I shut completely down. No outside life, other than my business and trying to figure out how to become richer. We finally made it to my house, and I was about to get out of the car but Zel stopped me.
“I’m going to pack my bag and change, as soon as I’m done I will be back so we can leave,” Zelan stated, and I got out the car. I looked at my watch and it was going on four in the morning. I guess we could sleep on the flight over. Getting into my house, I headed up to my room. I haven’t been to this house in a while. Most of my time was spent at the penthouse. Just looking at all of Kenya’s shit, had me on fucking fire! I picked up my cell and dialed my housekeeper, I know she was sleeping but this was urgent to me.
“Mr. Kassom is everything alright?” she asked.
“No, I just wanted to let you know, that Veronica will be stopping by later today to have Kenya’s things removed from my home along with my bedroom furniture,” I told her.
“Yes sir. Is there anything else you need sir?” she responded.
“I’m going to be with my family for a few days, I will check in with you in a day or so,” I said, after we said our goodbyes I ended the call. I went into Kari’s room, as soon as I got inside and saw my daughter’s picture, I couldn’t hold it. Urgggggggghhhhhhhhh! Tears were streaming down my face from the pain I felt in my heart. I felt like someone had stabbed me over and over again. I sat in Kari’s room for I don’t know how long, Zelan’s voice got my attention. I went to the intercom and told him to give me thirty minutes, and I would be ready to leave. About an hour later, I was dressed and ready to go see my daughter. Any other problem in the street right now, was going to have to be put on hold. I know this isn’t the last time I would hear from Javier, but I know this, our business dealings with the Ramirez Cartel is over, and a war had begun.
It was going on eight in the morning, and we were boarding the Jet. I’m sure Ciera has been calling me, but my phone was turned off. I turned it off after I spoke to her last night, and never turned it back on. I’m just in a place where I need to think about what has happened, Kari’s face keeps popping up in my head.
“Mr. Kassom, can I get you anything before we take off?” the flight attendant asked me. “Yes, let me get a shot of Henny on the rocks,” I responded. She walked away to get my drink, and Meek stepped on the plane.
“You good?” Meek asked me.
“Yeah, I’m glad you made it, now we can get the hell out of here,” I responded, Meek took his seat and we were ready for takeoff. Zelan said he didn’t want to tell the girls we were coming, he wanted to surprise them. Whatever works for them, I just needed to see my daughter, my life depended on me seeing my baby girl.
Chapter Three
Ari-
We were out shopping and touring the downtown area of Grand Turks. This place was absolutely beautiful, it was the first time traveling out of New York for most of us. Besides Ci going to California, we have never been to an Island before. For us to be on this beautiful Island, I wanted nothing more but to travel and see other beautiful places.
“I’m so excited that you invited me to experience this with y’all bestie! I’m so happy for you and Ciera. This is it for you boo, you know Zelan is going to marry you,” Toya said, and I looked at her ass crazy. I loved my baby, but we are far from thinking of getting married.
“Girl, we are not ready for marriage, I still have to graduate and even after that I plan to keep going, my education is important for me,” I told her.
“I get it, but friend you don’t have to stop going to school, you can have both,” Toya responded, as we walked in the local shop to buy some souvenirs. I overheard Toya this morning pleading with her man back home. She had him on speaker phone, and he was really talking to my friend crazy. As strong as Toya is, I wondered why she would take that type of abuse from any man. I know this, if I see another bruise, or if she tells me anything about his bum ass. I’m telling Zelan, and shit won’t end well for his punk ass.
I have seen women in the hood take all kinds of shit from their boyfriend, or husband. I just can’t watch it happen to my friend, we not on that type of time.
“Ari, you like this dress? I think it’s kind of cute, I can wear it tonight,” Toya asked.
“Yeah, it is cute sis, you should get it,” I told Toya, just as some dude walked up to her trying to get her number. He was fine as hell too, but there was nothing finer then my baby. After Toya paid for her items, we were on our way out the door.
“Girl, that nigga was FINE, if they making them like that over here, I may need to move,” Toya stated, and we fell out laughing.
“I must say he was fine, but I only have eyes for Zelan,” I told her.
“Bitch you better, don’t nobody got time for the death toll to go up in Grand Turks or New York,” Toya said, laughing her ass off.
“There is Ciera, and the rest of the crew over there,” I said as we began to walk over to where they were.
“Hey, did y’all find anything good?” Grams asked.
“We sure did, did you buy anything Grams?” I asked her, and she pointed at the security guards who were holding her bags.
“I see you Grams, I want to be just like you when I grow the hell up!” Toya yelled out.
“Babbby you better take notes, you got a lot to learn fucking with Lai,” Grams said giving Toya a high five.
“Hey everyone, we need to get back to the house. We have shopped long enough, and Ciera looks tired,” Ms. Simone stated, as she grabbed Kari’s hand. Ms. Simone was moving mighty fast, I wonder what is really wrong. Her entire attitude seemed to have changed instantly, I hope she is alright. It was a little after One in the afternoon, I decided to text Zelan to see if he would respond.
Me: Hey baby, is everything ok? We were almost back at the house and I never got a response from Zelan. That was so unusual, I could only hope and pray that he and the fellows were all alright.
Chapter Four
Zelan-
My heart was heavy for my brother, and my niece Kari. I was so fucking pissed at the shit Kenya’s bitch ass pulled. I have never in my fucking life met a Bitch, as evil as her. She is the most deserving of the word BITCH, I wanted to take my ass down to hell and kill her ass again, and again, and again! Juelz didn’t deserve any of the shit she did to him, he was destroyed when he thought something had happened to her funky ass.
My brother was always a good, loving, and caring man to her Giraffe neck ass! This whole thing is just all kinds of fucked up. Just watching him, on the flight over to Grand Turks he was a fucking mess. We landed about an hour ago and had made it to the house where the ladies were staying. The guards told us, they were out shopping and had been gone for a while now. I called my mom and told her to get here now I put her up on game as to what happened.
“Zelan, get my daughter here now, please!” Juelz yelled.
“Bro they are on the way here, I called mom already,” I told him, and he nodded heading upstairs.
“I think they are here n
ow bruh,” Meek said as he walked in the kitchen. I’m glad he decided to come out with us, he needed to get away just like we all did. We work hard and deserved this little break from our everyday reality.
“Chile I’m tired as hell, and need me a drink,” I heard Ma Lai say as she walked into the family room.
“Well get you a drink then old lady,” I said, with a smirk on my face, knowing I surprised her ass.
“Boy what the hell you doing over here?” Ma asked., as she came over to me, and the rest of the ladies walked in.
“Babe, what the hell? When did you get here?” Ari screamed as she ran over to me, jumping in my arms.
“We just got here not long ago,” I responded.
“Where is he son?” my mother questioned, wanting to know where Juelz was.
“He is upstairs,” I stated, and she took off running. Everyone watched as she ran up the stairs, and I know they were all wondering what was going on. We will just explain it to them later, this was Juelz decision to make on who needs to know.
“Zelan, is Juelz with you? Is everything alright?” Ciera asked.
“Yeah Ci, he is with me. Just give him and my mother sometime to talk, ok?” I told her. She just nodded and sat down, I hope I didn’t offend her. But Juelz needed his mother right now. I’m sure he needed his woman too, but mom knew how to calm him down.
“Baby do you need to talk?” Ari asked.
“We will talk in a little while,” I stated, just as Meek walked his ass out the kitchen, like he just stepped off of GQ magazine, this nigga. I looked from Meek to Toya and they were having a damn stare down.
“Hellllllloooooo nigga pay attention,” Ma Lai said to Meek, as she waived her hands in his face. We all fell out laughing, at ma cause she was serious as hell.
“What the hell you looking at Toy… ohhhhhhh shit! Go head on Toya, that nigga fine as hell. Girllll, you seen them damn eyes? that pretty lil fine head ass boy, can look at my ass allllll day fucking long, hunny,” Ma Lai said to Toya, once she figured out that something was going on with those two. They ass ain’t fooling no damn body, I know they like each other.
