Trixing Your Mate

The elevator doors closed without either of them pressing a button. They went wherever the elevator decided to go. Riding in silence for a moment.

  “Is it her?”

“I don’t know.” Keo said thoughtfully. “She certainly feels like the one. But my nose is so fried from the hot tubs that I can’t smell a thing. I can’t scent her.”

  “She’s fucking sexy as hell.”

“Yes.” Keo thought of how she looked in the hot tub all that delicious coffee colored hair pulled up on top of her tan beautifully supple skin. Dark as night brown eyes. She didn’t have a wide mouth, but her lips were slightly full and curved. He wanted those moist red lips sucking his finger inside, his tongue inside and most definitely his cock inside.

But not being able to scent her was a problem.

A major problem, since both of them were Chimeric shapeshifters. Keo was an eagle owl and Hudson was a grizzly bear.

Keo rubbed his hands over his face. This evening had not gone at all like he had envisioned. He had planned on relaxing with his clan Stone Anvil at the St Patrick’s Day party. Drinking some green beer. Maybe find a willing lady.

Instead he managed a couple of dances, three sips of his beer, then wham! Out of nowhere. His future appeared…and not the future he had pictured either. Hudson Trent walked up to talk to Trac and he scented him. At that moment, he knew. He knew with certainty that Hudson was his co-mate. That the two of them would share the same mate or mates. Considering his love for pussy, he had crossed his fingers that Mater Natura, their loving goddess, would send them a female to share. Mater Natura was benevolent, but unpredictable.

Keo was very much a loner, and as time rocked on, he had assumed that it would be just him and his female. Chimera finding their true mates was hard to do. Only his Prima Rimie’s dating website had managed to start matching clanmates reliably. But for those Chimera that were lucky enough to find their mate, group matings were just as common as a pair of mates. Group matings usually found each other fairly early in life. If three or four or more were grouped together by the Mater, they tended to gravitate to each other at a younger age rather than an older. Like a compass trying to point north. They would stumble over each other in order to partner up, probably to help with the smooth transitioning of the group to work together.

Frankly, group matings were not unusual for Chimera. Female Chimera were rare, so multiple males with one female tended to be Mater Natura’s solution. He just never thought it would happen to him, especially not now. Being an independent solo act for so long, he figured he would have to make adjustments for a mate, but a co-mate? Nah! Hell, Josiah, in their clan, had gotten mated a few weeks ago and it had been to just one female Chimera. No third party involved. Why the hell would Keo get the threesome?

Alpha Magnus and his Beta Trac both shared a mate, Rimie, but Trac met Magnus years ago. Almost ten years ago. They had years to get used to each other before finding their mate. They had been able to take women together, get used to having sex with the same woman at the same time.

Keo blanched. He and Hudson had never taken a woman together. Hell, Keo had never even double teamed before. His sex had simply been him and a willing female. Period. Why had he never teamed up during sex!?! Mentally, he was kicking himself in the ass for not being more prepared.

For Chimera, group matings happened…a lot. Why didn’t it ever occur to him, he might be part of a group? How would this even work if they did run into their mate? He’d never had to maneuver around another male in his bed. And Hudson was not a size that you could overlook. Awkward.

Keo tuned back into the present. Hudson was leaning against the elevator wall deep in thought himself.

His mind drifted back to the little surprise in the hot tub. Trixie. Plump curves. Round full breasts. That smooth skin that he just wanted to touch. His mating bite would look spectacular on her shoulder, right where the neck slid to meet the shoulder. He would be able to sink his teeth into that. Claws shot out of his fingers.

“Did you see that ass?” Hudson’s tone was awe-struck. “It’s like the Mater plucked it straight outta my fantasies.”

“Gonna be seeing it all night in my head.” Keo’s tone was dry.

“We’ll see her in the morning, and we will know by the scent of her if she’s the one.”

Keo nodded. The doors opened on the floor with the party.

“Let’s find Prima Rimie and ask some questions.” Hudson said firmly as they left the elevator. Normally, alpha female mates were called “Mata.” Mata Rimie. If a male, Pata. Prima/Primo was the title only given to the mate of the alpha when there was an exceptionally close bond between the alpha and his mates. The close bonds gave abilities that the mate could harness. The alpha’s mate could tap into hidden talents and strengths of the group. What abilities? It varied unpredictably, but the strength of the bond meant the mating group was a force to be reckoned with. Thus, Mata Rimie was named Prima Rimie.

Unfortunately, it seemed that Rimie had already disappeared with her two mates. They tracked down Head of Security, Keegan, to confirm it.

Keegan’s earpiece started chattering in his ear as they were talking to Keegan. “Landon-your team, I want you to follow that van. You say the plates you ran were fake?” Keegan was talking to his team. “Keo, I gotta go. Suspicious activity. A few vehicles two blocks out.” And then Keegan disappeared.

Keo knew that security would be tight since their Alpha, their Beta and their Prima were all staying at Stone Tower right now instead of Stone Ranch. Stone Ranch was the home of the clan, and security was much easier to achieve when your billionaire company owned all the land as far as the eye could see.

Back to the problem at hand, Keo groaned, “We probably won’t see them again for days.” He was referring to his leaders’ honeymoon status. Magnus, Rimie and Trac would sometimes disappear for a couple of days, with orders to just place food outside of their doors, every so often.

Hudson shifted. “So, if we are meeting in the morning. I better get home and try to get a couple of hours of sleep. I’m across town closer to Stone Ranch.”

Keo tugged on his ear. He didn’t really want to have to wait for Hudson to get here in the morning to see Trixie. “I’m staying in an apartment here tonight, didn’t feel like trying to make it back to the Ranch. You could stay there?” Keo said diffidently, not looking at Hudson.

  “That’ll work.”

They returned to the elevators. Each one wondering in his mind, ‘Exactly, how is this going to work?’

  Chapter 3

Trixie had two hard bodies on either side of her. Muscles gleamed and flexed as she stroked her hand across their pecs. Mmmmm. Deee-licious! Each of them different, but exciting in their own individual way. Copper skin gleamed on a well-proportioned physique. Long silky, black hair trailed across one shoulder.

A noise almost distracted her, but then she turned her gaze to the massive muscles on her other side. His skin was a deep tan as if he was in the sun a lot. She moaned as she tested the hardness of his biceps. Rock hard. Another noise a little louder made her frown. But she was not so easily distracted from her appreciation of the masculine perfection laid out before her. She swirled her hands around and down to trace across hard abs rippling with muscles that she didn’t think anyone had even named. Who knew there were this many muscles on your abs?

She was moving south to investigate the whole package, when the noise got louder. She rolled restlessly, irritated at the distraction. Wait a minute! When she rolled she didn’t roll into anyone! Her eyes popped open.

  Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam!

What the hell? What time was it? Blearily, she rolled to the edge to pick up her phone, but she didn’t have her contacts in so all she saw was a fuzzy multi colored blur.

  Rap! Rap! Pause. Rap! Rap!

Stumbling to her purse, she dug out her cheap glasses, big huge nerd glasses. Cheap-- cause if you have expensive contacts why spend a lot of money o
n glasses? She gazed in disbelief at the microwave clock that said 5:37am.

  Bam! Bam!

“Hang on!” She grumped as she stomped to the door of the apartment.

Peering through the peephole, she could only see part of two masculine chests and a white box. Huh, think I recognize those chests.

Swinging the door open, she stared thunderstruck at the two sexy, hot males that had dared to interrupt her beauty sleep! How dare they be so sexy! That just pissed her off even more.

“What the hell?!? Do you know what time it is?!?”

Instead of answering her, they appeared to be dumbstruck. Keo and Hudson. Just standing there taking deep breaths and with a dazed look on their faces.

  “¿Están todos locos?”

Hudson didn’t say anything just held out the big white box to her. She swung the door and almost got it closed and then something delicious smelling hit her. It was coming from that box and it smelled like…

“Apples and cinnamon.” She took another deep breath. “Hmmmm.” She tried to snatch the box out of Hudson’s hand and still slam the door in their faces, but he was too quick for her, slipping past her through the opening she made to grab the box.

Hudson leaned down and brushed a kiss across her forehead. “Good morning.” She stepped back a couple of steps in surprise, and that was all the opportunity they needed. She blinked and they were in the kitchen washing up and then pulling down plates.

  “Aren’t you hungry, minx?”

“Shut the door, Trixie, it’s drafty out there.” Hudson said absently as he put the plates on the bar.

Trixie shut the door and her stomach rumbled, both men turned and each gave her a smile that warmed her insides and every other molecule of her.

It was as she was washing her hands at the kitchen sink that the needle scratched back to reality. One too many heated glances had woken her up, mainly because they got all interesting sorts of reactions going everywhere on her body. Trixie, all of a sudden, became very aware of her choice of sleeping attire. A tshirt. That was it. Luckily, it being dark grey prevented the ‘see through’ possibility. Hopefully. Talk about drafty as she felt another dash of cold air flow up to her bare ass.

“What are you doing here at 5:40 on a Saturday morning?” She stopped glaring at them cause she was distracted by the pastries that Hudson was piling on to the plate. “Are those warm?!?”

“We had the kitchen downstairs make them up special.” Hudson answered as he pulled out kolaches, and more pastries.

“I want some explanations. But hold them for 5 minutes.” She held her hand up and walked quickly to the bathroom. After taking care of her very urgent need to pee, brushing her teeth, and so forth, she dressed quickly and stomped back into the kitchen. Sipping some OJ, Hudson was on one of the bar stools while Keo lounged against a counter in the kitchen sipping what smelled like—

“Coffee. Hmmmm.” Her stomach was protesting mightily now. She was getting hangry.

Keo casually took a cup and filled it from a large thermos. He set it down next to a plate filled with pastries and kolaches and breakfast tacos. A wide variety.

The aromatic scent drew her like iron filings to a magnet. She found some powdered coffee creamer and the sugar bowl and started dumping them in enthusiastically.

She heard a choked gargle and turned to find Keo standing upright with a horrified look on his face. Gone was the casual lounging, he was as straight as a soldier.

“Wha--?” Puzzled she looked at him as she sat down on the bar stool next to Hudson.

“What are you doing to my coffee?!?”

Trixie took a slurping sip of it. “Mmmmm. It’s good.”

“It should be. That was around a $50 cup of coffee you just ruined!”

Trixie swallowed and choked. Then sputtered coffee everywhere. Hudson handed her a napkin as he chuckled a little.

“That was gourmet coffee. Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee.”

“Never heard of it,” commented Hudson.

After, thinking about that for a moment, Trixie slurped up some more. “It’s nice.”

“It’s not ‘nice’! You don’t call coffee like that ‘nice’! It’s magnificent!” Keo shook his head inconsolably. “I am surrounded by heathens! Powdered creamer, Mater!” He looked up at the ceiling as he said it. “What am I supposed to do with that?”

Trixie glanced up at the ceiling, following his gaze, swinging her feet. “Who are you talking to, Loco?” She got distracted by the pastries. “Ooooooo, what’s it got in it?” She asked Hudson as she picked up a pastry.

“Rimie told me that apples and cinnamon were some of your favorites.” Well, after about 10 text messages, Rimie finally told him.

“Yum, bear claws! I love ‘em.”

The men froze, looked at one another and started laughing. Bellowing laughter.

Trixie watched the men, placidly eating the pastry, a little smile on her face. “Did I miss the joke?”

Hudson ended with a few chuckles. His hand brushed her cheek. “I like bears, too, beauty.”

She gazed into Hudson’s warm brown eyes, forgotten pastry dangling listlessly in her hand. Warm brown eyes dropped down to her lips and became hot. Really hot. His face moved closer. Shaggy hair flopping onto his brow. His chiseled lips curved slightly and softened his tough jawline. Trixie’s lips parted as he filled her vision.

“¡Espérate!” She put a firm hand on his mouth that was yes, kissabl-y close and shoved him farther away. “Whoa. What is going on here?” Her eyes shot from Hudson to Keo. Keo had moved closer and was leaning over the counter towards her. “Why are you here? Why the hell are you here at 5am in the morning. The sun isn’t even up!” Trixie realized that her hand was still over Hudson’s mouth. She yanked it back, but he gently grabbed it before she could fully retract it.

Hudson raised it slowly to his lips. Hot masculine lips with the most delicious curves that would be very satisfying to investigate, touched the back of her hand. Hot breath melted over her hand and she stopped breathing for a moment. Then he placed a suckling kiss on her skin. She felt the suction down deep from that kiss.

A slight noise made her turn and look at Keo. He was leaning even closer to her, watching Hudson’s mouth on her hand, and for some reason that made her even hotter. Keo’s hot gaze was focused on every touch Hudson was giving her, then suddenly his eyes lifted to hers and she was lost in that riveting gaze of his. She noticed that around his pupil he had a golden starburst of yellow that speared through the brown of his iris like yellow fireworks that disappeared against the outer edging of a dark brown sky. They were nothing like Hudson’s eyes. Keo’s were piercing, cutting, whereas Hudson’s were warm and approachable.

And then she couldn’t see his eyes any longer since his lips were touching hers. Hard masculine lips brushed across hers and with a shiver Trixie realized they weren’t hard at all. Mobile, masculine lips, terse and thin that complimented the sharp edge of his jaw and his fiercely straight black eyebrows. Those lips brushed, teased and invited her own lips to dance with his.

Meanwhile, Hudson was feathering kisses on her hand and her arm, ending with her finger between those enticingly curved lips. When he nipped lightly on the tip of her finger and then sucked the bite away, her panties got drenched.

Wrenching herself off the barstool, she took several steps back until she ran into a table. “What exactly is going on here?” Her gaze shot back and forth between the two men. “Am I a substitute for Blake-lyn, I mean Kait-ley, whoever?” Dawning outrage increased her breathing even more than their kisses had. Both males were staring at her and the only satisfaction she had was that they were breathing as hard as her.

  “No,” Keo answered hoarsely.

“Not a—“ Hudson stopped to clear his throat. “substitute for anyone.”

“Tell me exactly what is going on!” She pointed to her seat at the bar. “Cause this is feeling all very…staged…to me.” Actually, it was feeling delectably hot to h
er, but she didn’t like the possibility of being a fill-in for one of the other ladies.

“No staging, Trixie.” Keo stated solemnly as he came around the counter.

Her fingers rubbed her still tingling lips as she caught the movement. “¡Espérate! You sit right over there.” She pointed at the bar stool. “Now what are you two up to?”

“We are attracted to you, Trixie,” Hudson grumbled.

“Both of you?” Her eyebrows shot up disbelievingly. “You’ve known me like 5 minutes, and both of you are attracted to me?”

“Mmmmhmmm.” From deep in Hudson’s chest.

  Keo nodded.

“I find that hard to believe.”

Keo tilted his head looking at her. His eyes slowly, heatedly made their way down her body. She shivered and her nipples pinched in even harder.

“You believe.” Keo murmured as his eyes were stroking upward on their return journey, lingering on her curves.

Maybe they hadn’t noticed her reaction? Then she noticed that Hudson was staring hard. Right at her breasts.

“Quit staring at my boobs, Hudson.” She grumped. Her arms crossing over her chest.

“Why, beauty?” He continued, “they are gorgeous! So round and plump they look like they would fill my hands, and I’ve got big hands.”

She shifted on her feet. She shouldn’t think about Hudson testing out that theory on her breasts. She gazed at his hands for a heartbeat and then dropped her gaze. When she raised it after a moment both of them were in front of her. What? How did they move that fast? And so silently?

Trixie cleared her throat a little. “You are not supposed to just randomly stare at body parts!”

“Nothing random about it, Trixie. I most definitely meant to stare at your gorgeous breasts.”

Using the distraction of the conversation, Keo by that time had snuck up on her and was only a few inches from her left arm. Hudson came close on her right. Keo, with a light finger, tilted her head up to him. Those ‘gold fireworks meets brown sky’ eyes of his captured her gaze.
