“You’re blushing. Now I really want to know. What is it?”

Closing his eyes, he sighed. “I can sing.”

“You say that like it’s some awful secret.”

“It is an awful secret! Mom used to make me sing in the church choir and any other opportunity that arose. Like when her friends came to visit. Do you know how humiliating that can be for a twelve year old boy?”

Sienna laughed. “I’m sorry, but I can’t believe this is just coming out now. Why have I never heard you sing?”

“When I got serious about tennis, my dad made her stop pushing me to take voice lessons. It’s not that I hate it. I sing in the shower, but it’s not my passion so it’s not something I ever wanted to do professionally.”

“I can’t believe Mika has never said anything.”

He arched a brow. “I have enough dirt on her to keep her quiet.”

  “Sing something for me.”

He groaned. “I will on one condition. And that is that you have to keep this a secret. It doesn’t leave this room. Deal?” At her eager nod, he asked, “So what would you like to hear? Pick something that everyone knows the words to since I suck at memorizing lyrics.”

  “Silent Night.”

Jakob closed his eyes and concentrated on the remembering the words to the Christmas classic. He inhaled and began to sing. Sienna went still above him. When he finished and she didn’t say anything, he opened his eyes to find her with her mouth agape. “You’re amazing,” she whispered. “I mean really amazing.”

He felt his cheeks heating up once more. “Thank you.” He cleared his throat. “So what don’t I know about you? What’s your deep dark secret?”

She kissed his chin. “Well, I don’t really.…”

He grinned as her voice trailed off. “You just thought of something, didn’t you? It can’t be more embarrassing than my singing.” She buried her face in his neck. He gave her a squeeze. Finally, she mumbled something, the motion of her lips moving against his skin causing his dick to swell. Jakob groaned. “Better get it out before I forget.”

Her giggles were muffled before she drew back but she still wouldn’t meet his gaze. Instead she spoke to his chin. “I, um, sort of had a crush on you in high school.”

“That’s sweet, but that was a long time ago.”

“Well, it might have lingered…a while. And it wasn’t so little.”

“Yeah?” He tried to remember more about their high school years but he couldn’t recall her giving him any extra attention. She’d been around the house because of Mika, but if anything, she’d kind of ignored him. He shook his head. “You were nice to me, but you were nice to everyone.”

“It would have been pathetic to follow you around like a puppy. I did have some dignity. But when you started playing professionally, I had you plastered all over my walls.”

“Really?” That did surprise him. Evidently her feelings for him didn’t fade the moment he went off to college. Instead it had endured.

She nodded and then bit her lip as though considering her next words. “Actually…you’re exactly who I had in mind when I filled out my form for Bioexpa. Not that I thought they would actually pair me with you! But I thought someone like you, who was confident and capable and so kind-”

He pulled her down for a kiss, cutting her off. He didn’t deserve her praise. Rather than immediately accepting this wonderful woman, he’d foolishly endangered her hopes of a Bioexpa marriage. Worse still, she’d once harbored tender feelings for him. He’d hurt her more deeply than he’d first realized. He was a fool, but fortunately, he was a very lucky fool. Lucky that she didn’t hate him after what he’d done, lucky that she’d given him a second chance, and lucky to have been paired with her at all.

  Chapter Ten

  Day 18 of Cohabitation

Business at The Honey Bun was doing well and since they were both newly married, Mika and Sienna decided to hire a manager and another employee so that they could have more free time. They were both so impressed with the second person they interviewed that they hired her as their new manager immediately. Until they could hire another full time employee, Owen agreed to take on more responsibilities and work longer hours.

Sienna came home early to find Jakob had prepared her a bubble bath. He’d lit candles around the tub. He’d also taken care of dinner. He rushed to assure her that he hadn’t cooked. He’d picked it up from an Italian restaurant.

They’d easily settled into life as a married couple. They shared the household chores, but she did the majority of the cooking. Her man was a genius with a tennis racket in his nimble hands, but replace that racket with a spatula and he was a klutz.

As she relaxed in the tub of fragrant bubbles, she hovered between sleep and wakefulness. She didn’t know how much time had passed when Jakob brought her a glass of wine. “Thank you. I haven’t had a bubble bath since I was five.”

“Good. Enjoy it.” He bent to kiss her forehead. “Dinner will be warm in a few. I’d stick around to dry you off…but then we’d have to warm dinner all over again.” He winked at her before backing out of the bathroom.

She smiled. They had a very active love life. As they learned what the other liked, it kept getting better and better. It was early days yet and she suspected that one day they would slow down in frequency. But for the time being, she was very appreciative of her husband’s lustful attentions.

She took a sip of wine before standing and placing it on the countertop. She wrapped up in the bath sheet that Jakob had left within arm’s reach. Leaning down to blow out the candles, she let the water out of the tub. She rushed through her drying process so that Jakob didn’t have to wait too long.

A champagne pink peignoir and matching robe hung on a hook on the back of the door. Sienna rubbed the sleeve of the robe between her thumb and pointer finger. There was no note, but she knew it was a gift from Jakob.

Dropping her towel, she pulled it on. It cascaded over her body like a silk waterfall. The bodice was made of lace in a rose pattern through which her nipples were plainly visible. She put the robe on over it and belted it. When she joined Jakob in the kitchen, he’d already prepared a salad and decorated the table with flowers and candles. “Are we celebrating something? It’s not my birthday and it’s not your birthday.”

He shrugged. “Well, we’ve just survived our second marriage counseling session. Dr. Roberts seems to think we’re on the right track.” He pulled out a chair for her and she sat.

“Thank you. Everything looks delicious. I appreciate you going to so much trouble for me.”

“You deserve it. You work hard. You shouldn’t have to come home and cook every night, too.”

“Oh, I left my wine glass in the bathroom.”

“Don’t get up. I’ll go get it.”

He left and returned with the glass. He grabbed the wine bottle and refilled the small amount she had consumed. “Thank you, but this has to be it for me or I’ll pass out on you.”

“I can’t take much more than a glass either. Tell me about your day.”

“Well, I spent a bit of time experimenting with some new recipes. How does a caramel butterscotch blondie sound?”

“Awesome. When can I have one?”

She laughed. “I’m still perfecting the recipe. I’m also working on a peanut butter butterscotch cupcake. Mika is making a double chocolate cupcake with a marshmallow center topped with chocolate ganache and a whipped marshmallow vanilla frosting.”

“I’ve got sugar overload just hearing about it.”

She giggled. “What did you do today?” She worried that he might be bored sitting at home. He was used to a much more active lifestyle.

He grinned. “Wipe that look off your face. I’m fine. I went for a jog this morning. I visited my parents. I did a little of this and that,” he ended vaguely. He inclined his head toward her. “Bought you that sexy bit of lace
I can’t wait to take off you.”

“It’s just that this must all seem terribly mundane to you.”

If anything his grin grew wider. “Because I’m known as a party guy, huh?”

“Well, you’re used to travel and fans yelling your name.”

“Sienna, I liked being home for our parents’ annual Memorial Day bash for a change. I’m sure I’ll miss the challenge for a bit but most times I didn’t get enjoy whatever city I was in until the tournament was over or I lost. And then it was time to move on to another city. It was a grind. I’d like to travel again someday…with you. As for fans, I’m used to not being recognized in the states. Tennis just doesn’t have the level of popularity as basketball, baseball, or football.” He shrugged. “I’m fine with that. I went into it because I love it not because I wanted to be famous. And I can always play tennis as much as I want. I’ve got the volunteer coaching coming up. And I’m still under contract for some endorsement deals that will require me to shoot some commercials. As if all that isn’t enough to keep me from getting bored, I’ve got a beautiful new wife that keeps me happy. You fill my days with joy and my nights with passion.”

  “You’re so damned sweet.”

Stroking the stem of his wine glass with one long-fingered hand, he shook his head. “No. You’re sweet. I’ve never been with anyone who I felt cared about me the way that you do.”

She found that unlikely. He was so kind and likable. “I haven’t done anything.”

“It’s there in the way you look at me, the way you give yourself to me. I love you, Sienna.”

“Oh, Jakob!” Remains of her dinner forgotten, she rounded the table and sat sideways on his lap. His arms went up to hold her securely. She kissed him with all the love in her heart. He groaned and gave her his tongue. He tasted of the wine they were sharing. Beneath her bottom, she could feel him readily responding to her closeness. He wore only sweatpants and a t-shirt. She easily snaked her hand past the band of his pants to cup his cock through his briefs. Jakob sucked in his breath, the hard muscles of his stomach contracting against her.

He stood, picking her up with him. “Bedroom,” he growled. He didn’t stop until they stood before their bed. “Take off the robe, baby.” Biting her lip, she unbelted the robe and let it slide to the floor. His already dark brown eyes went black. “You’re amazing.” He fingered the thin spaghetti strap at her shoulder and bent to kiss her neck. He bit her earlobe. “Are you wearing panties?”

“No. You didn’t leave any for me in the bathroom.”

Pulling back, he demanded, “Show me.” Clutching a handful of silk in each hand, she gathered the fabric at her waist until her pussy was exposed to him. Lashes drooping to half-mast, Jakob lowered himself before her. He licked his lips before pressing a kiss to her mound. “Spread your legs.”

She did as he asked and then gasped at the first lick of his tongue. He groaned and boosted one of her thighs over his shoulder. He tasted her from top to bottom, thrusting his tongue into her pussy before returning to her clit. Tilting his head to the side, he suckled the sensitive nub until she was urgently rolling her hips against his face. She gripped his shoulders to keep her balance as he continued to feast from her pussy. “Oh, God, Jakob,” she gasped as her belly clenched with the approach of an orgasm.

She was right on the edge when he stood abruptly. In one swift movement, he tore his shirt off and tossed it aside. “Get that thing off, baby, before I rip it.” By the time her peignoir joined the rest of their clothing on the floor, he’d already pushed his sweats down to this ankles. He gripped her by the hips and whirled her around.

He pressed his hand to her belly so that her back was flush to his front and she could feel every hard inch of his erection grinding into her bottom. “Please, Jakob,” she whispered, trembling because she wanted him so very much. He bit the column of her throat. His hands cruised up her body to cup her breasts before pinching and tugging at her nipples. “Oh, please,” she gasped, squirming in his hold. Her thighs rubbed slickly together, she was so wet for him.

“I love you,” he murmured into her neck as he slowly lowered her to the bed, his hot chest molded to her back. He placed a palm to her spine to keep her in place as he stood, leaving her draped over the edge of the mattress. “Legs open,” he ordered. “Wider,” he said after she’d complied. She whimpered and then gasped as he used the head of his cock to separate her folds.

“Don’t tease, Jakob,” she said when he continued to simply stroke back and forth.

“You’re so wet. You feel so good,” he ended on a groan as he notched himself at her opened and pushed forward.

Sienna’s hands clenched in the sheets as he filled her. “Oh, God.” He somehow seemed thicker and deeper in this position. “D-don’t stop.” She pushed back against him to take more. Jakob obliged her by shifting back and then slamming home. She cried out at the unexpected pleasure. “More.”

“My baby likes to be fucked hard, huh?” He swiveled his hips, opening her to his cock and then withdrew only to drive deep once more.

“Yes, please, Jakob. Fuck me hard.”

“Hold on.” He gripped her hips and truly began to fuck her. The sounds of their lovemaking filled the room. His harsh grunts as he labored over her. Her escalating breathless cries as he plumbed the depths of her pussy. The smack of flesh colliding with flesh and the wet sound of his cock piercing her juicy cunt.

Her hands clawed at the sheets even as she backed into the intensity of his thrusts, taking everything he had to give. Jakob reached between her thighs and circled her clit with a fingertip before pinching it. “Come for me, baby.” She screamed as the orgasm rolled through her belly. Her pussy closed over his cock so tightly she thought it might be trying to swallow him whole. Jakob groaned loudly. “Fuck!” And then he was swelling and jerking inside her, the sensation only adding to the power of her climax.

He dropped to his knees behind her. Sienna was too spent to move. “Are you okay down there?”

His husky laughter drifted up to her. “Fan-fucking-tastic. I came so hard my legs gave out.” He grabbed one of her legs where it dangled off the edge of the bed and kissed her ankle.

She giggled. “Well, that makes two of us.” She managed to roll over. With their combined fluids, she was a wet sticky mess between her thighs. “I need another bath.” She sighed. She was going to have to move some time. Besides, the kitchen needed cleaning.

“Give me a moment.” He rose. His curls were mussed and sweat ran down his face and chest. And if she’d had the energy at that instant, she would have wanted him all over again. He held a hand out to her. “Shower?”

She gave him her hand and he pulled her up. They showered together with him doing most of the washing. He was incredibly gentle as he soaped her up and rinsed her off. They cleaned the kitchen side by side and then went to bed together. Jakob held her in his arms and kissed her forehead. “Sienna, you’re everything I never had the sense to dream for in a woman.”

  Day 23 of Cohabitation

“Everything looks delicious, Mrs. Bloom,” Jakob said as Sienna passed him a basket of fluffy biscuits that smelled of butter.

“Thank you, Jakob. And as I’ve said before, you can call me Marie.” Her mother smiled and Sienna could tell that she was thrilled to have them over for dinner. It was the first time they’d eaten at her mother’s house as a married couple. Last week they’d eaten at his mother’s house and they’d gone out to dinner several times with Mika and Declan.

Her mother had outdone herself. The spread of food on the table was impressive. Along with the homemade biscuits there was a roasted chicken, ham, corn, green beans, collard greens, and yams. “Mom, you didn’t have to go to so much trouble.”

“Of course I did. We’re delighted to have you and we want you to come back.”

“I agree,” said her father. “It’s rare that I have this type of meal anymore. When it’
s the two of us, I’m lucky if I can get her to warm my instant meal for me.”

Marie gave her husband a playful push. “Oh, Avery, stop! You know I make you a home cooked meal every night.”

Her father chuckled and patted his belly. “And I’ve got the padding to prove it. I was hoping you’d give me some tennis lessons to help me get back in shape.”

“Not a problem. I’ve already been giving Sienna lessons.”

“And I suck,” Sienna admitted with a groan. Unfortunately, she wasn’t exaggerating. She’d yet to master the skill of connecting the ball with the racket on a regular basis. But she enjoyed the time spent with Jakob, his arms wrapped around her as he corrected her stance over and over. Usually it wasn’t long before she could feel his erection rubbing against her bottom. The lessons inevitably ended early with the two of them returning to the apartment and barely making it through the door before they ripped each other’s clothes off.

Her attempts to teach him to bake had faired only slightly better. His measurements were always precise and he followed baking directions well, but he tended to get distracted while waiting for the dessert to come out of the oven. And he often forgot to set the timer so most of his concoctions ended up burnt and inedible.

Jakob smiled at her. “Sienna’s an excellent student,” he said loyally. “We just need more practice. If Sienna doesn’t mind, you can join us.”

“You’re too kind. I have zero eye-hand coordination.”

“That’s not true,” her father said. “Your desserts are excellent so your hands know how to work a mixer. It’s eye-foot coordination that you’re lacking.”

“Avery!” Marie gave her husband another shove.

Sienna shook her head and laughed. “With comments like that, I never needed a brother to rain on my parade.”
