An Unseelie Understanding

Vivienne immediately sucked her finger until it was nice and wet and then slid it into my ass. I felt her angle it up to press against Drostan's cock as he fucked me. The tingling delight of her stroking him through me while he fucked me was unbelievably delicious. The sounds of sucking and fucking filled the room—adding to my pleasure—and I started to come; my clenching shivers sending Drostan into orgasm as well. I groaned as he fell across my body; Jenny moving out of the way just in time. Drostan's mouth sought mine, and he began passionately kissing me; ignoring the fairy women, who continued to stroke us intimately.

Drostan nuzzled my ear and whispered, “Yours is still the finest pussy I've ever had and the only one I love to lick.”

I shivered through aftershocks and the realization that I was starting to enjoy the lifestyle Drostan was giving me. He was making me just like him. He rolled off me, and Vivienne immediately started licking his cock clean. Jenny did the same to my pussy; lapping Drostan's cum up as it leaked out of me. Drostan lifted my hand to his mouth and kissed it sweetly as he stared into my eyes.

“I adore you, my beautiful Riley,” he whispered.

  Chapter Forty

I've heard people say that sex is like a drug; especially for us women who have that lovely chemical oxytocin making us extra clingy to men who bring us to orgasm. I'd never believed it until I stepped foot on Tirne. Now, I had become an addict.

Drostan kept me in a constant state of clingy-woman chemicals and sexual euphoria. We woke every morning and started the day with wild sex. Then we ate breakfast; often upon each other. On to some kingly duties for Drostan while I sat on his lap wearing whatever garish outfit he'd picked out for me that day. He loved teasing his advisers with glimpses of my breasts and often pulled out one of my nipples to suck on it pensively as the other men spoke. Sometimes, after he finished meeting with his men, we'd find a non-sexual activity to engage in, but inevitably, we returned to his chambers—often taking women with us—and fucked until we passed out.

I was losing myself to the hedonism of it all, and I knew it. I could feel the real Riley slipping away; replaced by this wanton woman whose mind was filled with thoughts of how to please her lover and be pleased in return. I had let it consume me because the alternative was allowing myself to wallow in the fact that I would never see the men I truly loved again. That was too painful; pleasure was so much better.

And I wasn't the only one losing myself to it.

“I can't get enough of your pussy,” Drostan groaned as he lifted his head briefly from his feast. “I don't even want other women touching you anymore. This delight should be for me alone.”

Well, this was new. Drostan had a strict rule about no other cocks inside me. He was okay with other men watching us together, but not with them touching me. He'd become more and more possessive recently, and that rule had escalated to; No men touching or watching. Then it was; No men near me at all. And now it had spread to women. Not that I minded; I wasn't into women. I had gone along with them because I had no choice, and most times, I just closed my eyes and pretended that I was with a man. Pleasure is pleasure, as long as I didn't have to give it to them, it wasn't so bad. But this rocketing possessiveness meant more than no women for me. The small part of my brain that was still me was working through the ramifications and coming up with; Drostan cares about me. Somewhere within all of the wild sex, he had developed some real feelings. The question was; Did I feel the same?

I just wasn't sure. How could I be with all of the crazy stimuli I endured?

So, I didn't acknowledge Drostan's feelings or try to bring them to his attention. Drostan falling in love with me would be a good thing. As Hugo had said, it would be security for me, and I had decided that very first night to manipulate Drostan as much as I could. Whether I loved him back didn't matter; I was tied to Drostan like a junkie to her dealer. I couldn't have walked away if I tried. Which meant that his possessiveness did please me.

“Are you sure?” I teased him as I ran my fingers through his hair. “You seem to like watching them with me.”

“I did.” Drostan licked his lips as he climbed up my body. “But now I get this sour feeling in my stomach.” He frowned. “I can't explain it. I just know that I don't like the way I feel when I see you with someone else.”

“I don't like seeing you with other women either,” I whispered.

Drostan froze—searching my face—and then slowly lowered his lips to mine. I kissed him back passionately; working his heart as I tried to keep mine safe. I know it was cruel to foster love without offering any in return, but Drostan had been far more cruel to me. I was using the only weapons I had left; those I was born with. Drostan eased out of our kiss and stared down at me.

“Sweet Goddess,” he whispered. “Is this what it's like?”

  “What?”

“Love,” he said the word as if he'd never said it before. “Is this churning mix of anxiety and elation—this irrational fear and sublime happiness—love?”

“I don't know,” I said softly as I stroked his cheek. “But I think I want it to be. Why don't we just follow our bliss—do what makes us happy—and not worry about what it is? It doesn't matter what we call it; we both know there's more between us now than we started with.”

“You're the most fascinating woman I've ever met,” he said with simple honesty. “No guile, no ulterior motives; you just say what you mean and be done with it.”

“It's easier that way; don't you think?” I smiled at him.

“I do,” he murmured as he slipped slowly into me. “And right now, this is my happiness; this is my bliss.” Drostan began a sensual grind. “I can't believe it, but I'm content to simply join with you. No chains, no magic, and no other fairies; just you and I coming together.”

“What a coincidence”—I smirked as I angled my hips up to meet his—“this is my bliss too.”

Drostan smiled brilliantly before he lowered his mouth to my breast. As he sucked eagerly and continued to bring us closer and closer to our orgasms—our drug of choice—I held his head to me and smiled viciously.

  Chapter Forty-One

Drostan and I were out riding; and by that, I mean that I was draped over his lap, with him in the saddle, as he thrust up into me; just like that day he had kidnapped me in Conall's body. It was one of our favorite pastimes. The horse did most of the work for us; we just had to hold on and enjoy the ride.

Although lately, it had become more difficult; what with all my layers of clothing. Gone were the slutty outfits. Ever since Drostan had sort-of declared his love for me, he'd had more refined clothes made for me. I wore gowns similar to the ones I'd seen on Queen Tana. On top of that, Drostan treated me with more respect, and his stunned court followed suit. I was becoming more consort than concubine at last.

We were slowing down after experiencing an amazing orgasm together when we were surrounded by Cu-sidhe. I had grown familiar with the different fairy races, but I knew for a fact that these men were Cu-sidhe because I had slept with five of them.

Drostan's horse reared, and it took a few moments for him to calm the beast. As he did so, I gaped at Caleb, Jack, Ethan, Rath, and Ruin. They nodded to me but their expressions were solemn, and their hands were shifted into massive paws with long, deadly claws.

“You are interrupting an intimate moment with my consort,” Drostan growled.

I was so shocked by the appearance of my Cu-sidhe ex-lovers that I barely registered Drostan labeling me as his consort.

“Our apologies, Your Majesty,” Caleb's voice was low and harsh; nothing like I'd known it to be. “But if you will dismount, we will be able to handle this in a more civilized manner.”

  “Handle what?” Drostan snapped.

“You have been neglecting your people, King Drostan, and we have had enough of it,” Caleb announced. “You will rectify the matter, or we shall finish what the Lady Riley once interrupted.”

“What I interrupted?” I frowned as I clung to Dros
tan's shoulders.

“The assassination attempt,” Drostan murmured to me.

“That was you guys?” I asked in horror.

  “We were desperate.” Caleb sighed.

“We tried to keep you safe and out of his reach, Riley,” Ruin said. “But you ran away from us.”

“I heard you talking about Trenton,” I hissed.

The five Cu-sidhe I'd been with grimaced at each other guiltily.

“See?” Caleb huffed. “If we had treated her honorably, she might be safe.”

“What the fuck are you talking about?” Drostan asked in a dangerous tone.

“We're talking about Lady Riley's stay with us when she was trying to escape you.” Caleb narrowed his eyes at Drostan. “She was trying to get back to Prince Trenton while simultaneously hiding from you. We sheltered her and asked her to stay with us, but she snuck away.”

“You could come back,” Jack offered eagerly. “We miss you, Riley.”

“I don't think I like the way you're speaking to my consort,” Drostan said as his hand started to fill with sparking, oily mist.

The Cu-sidhe started to growl, and some of them shifted into enormous black dogs.

“Stop it!” I shouted, and all of them froze. “What are your grievances, Caleb?”

“They are not only ours, Riley,” Caleb's voice had gone even lower; into a gravely growl. “Most of the Unseelie races are unhappy with King Drostan's rule.”

“What the fuck have I done that's so horrible?” Drostan huffed as he kept the dark magic ready.

“You've ignored us, Your Majesty,” Rath said. “You lounge in your castle, fucking your consort all day, and never visit the villages unless absolutely necessary.”

“Like with the Goblins,” Ruin muttered.

“I assume that any issues will be brought to my attention,” Drostan said.

“We have brought things to you,” Caleb countered. “But we aren't even permitted an audience.”

“What nonsense is this?” Drostan rolled his eyes. “I never turn away representatives of the races.”

The Cu-sidhe frowned at each other uneasily.

“We were turned away five times before we gave up,” Caleb said. “The Trolls only tried thrice, but the Leanan-sidhe have made over twenty attempts to contact you—this month alone. They are more optimistic than we are. In fact, most of the Unseelie have given up on you, Your Majesty. We think of you as an apathetic king.”

“That is a lie!” Drostan roared and leapt off the horse. He was so angry that he didn't bother to straighten his pants, but stood with his spent cock draping out of them. “I love my people, and I have always done everything within my power to see to their happiness and well-being.”

“Then you have been betrayed, King Drostan,” Caleb said with a thoughtful frown. “Someone is keeping you from us, and it has hurt your rule.”

Drostan went quiet and pensive; absently tucking his cock away. I slid off the horse and went to stand beside him. I took his hand supportively, and he looked over at me in surprise. I gave his hand a squeeze to let him know that not everyone was against him. His gaze softened on me—brightening from indigo to sapphire—but I turned away from it to face Caleb.

“You have his attention now, Caleb,” I said gently. “And I can testify on his behalf. Drostan may have his faults, but he does care for the Unseelie. He will listen to you and do his best to help you.”

“If you feel this way, then why did you run from him?” Caleb asked.

“Being a king and being a lover are two different things,” I said. “I had personal issues with Drostan, but we've worked through them, and I know that you can work through your issues with him too. Just give him a chance to show you the king he can be.”

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Drostan roughly swallow, and his hand clenched on mine.

“I had no intention of ignoring any of my people,” Drostan said earnestly. “I'm sorry that your cries went unheard, and I promise you that I shall find the culprit behind this injustice and rectify this matter as soon as I return to Castle Unseelie. But right now, I'd like to hear why you sought me out. Tell me what has made you so unhappy.”

The Cu-sidhe shifted back into human forms; even their paws went back to normal hands. Caleb nodded to the others and then to Drostan.

“All right, Your Majesty,” Caleb said. “Let's talk.”

  Chapter Forty-Two

Hours later, Drostan had heard all of the Cu-sidhe problems and worked out ways to assist them. The Cu-sidhe were overjoyed, though there was an awkward moment between the five brothers and me as Drostan and I were led back to his waiting horse.

“We do miss you,” Caleb said to me.

Drostan narrowed his eyes at the Cu-sidhe.

“No offense meant, Your Majesty,” Caleb added. “You can't fault us for caring about your consort, can you? She's a rare woman.”

“That she is,” Drostan murmured. “All right; make your goodbyes, but do so knowing that they are final.”

Drostan strode to his horse and mounted with an expert leap. I looked from him to the Cu-sidhe and back again. Drostan nodded to me.

“Will you forgive us, Riley?” Rath asked. “We just wanted you so badly.”

“We didn't mean to cause you any harm,” Ruin added. “We're sorry to make you run from us.”

I sighed deeply and then hugged the men. “You're forgiven,” I said. “I hope that you find a mate soon and that she'll be worthy of such wonderful men.”

“Thank you.” Caleb kissed my cheek and then whispered in my ear, “If this is an act, and you need help, just say the word, and we will see you freed.”

“I'm fine, Caleb,” I said gently. “Thank you for the offer.”

Caleb nodded and stepped back beside his brothers with a sad smile. Drostan helped me up into the saddle, and we rode away as the Cu-sidhe stared after us.

Drostan held me tightly as we galloped through the forest; silent for a few minutes. When he finally spoke, it was with solemn sincerity.

“You would make a spectacular queen.”

“I've always thought so,” I joked.

“I'm serious,” Drostan reined in the horse. “You have a way with people that puts them at ease. You genuinely care about them, and it seems to give you insight. You handled the Cu-sidhe with grace and wisdom. Without you, it would have been a bloodbath. In fact, I believe that you've just saved my rule, Riley.”

“Thank you,” I whispered. “And you're welcome.”

Drostan dismounted and then helped me to the ground. He knelt before me and pulled a ring out of the pouch on his belt.

“I was going to do this before the Cu-sidhe interrupted us,” he said. “And now I'm even more resolved to this action. Not only are you the woman I want to spend eternity with, but you're also the only person who can make me into a better king. I love you, Riley. There is no other woman for me, and there never will be. Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?”

I gaped down at Drostan; my heart pounding in my chest. Something was screaming inside me to say no. But marrying Drostan would make me Queen of Unseelie. My position couldn't get more secure than that. And saying no to him would most definitely threaten the status I'd already gained.

  “Yes,” I whispered.

Delight spread across Drostan's face as he stood and lifted me off my feet. He'd forgotten about the ring; I could feel it pressing into my back between his palm and me. After he swung me around, he set me back on my feet, and the ring fell into the grass.

“Son of a bitch,” Drostan snarled as he dropped to his knees again.

I laughed and got down with him; searching the grass for the treasure. Drostan laughed with me as we hunted together. I'd never seen him so carefree; so happy. We found the ring at the same time; our hands closing over each others. We picked it up together and stared at each other a moment before Drostan slipped the ring onto my finger. It was a heavy black band with an enormous diamond set in it. />
“I know that humans like diamonds for their engagement rings,” Drostan said as he held my hand. “And the band is Unseelie steel; a little of your culture combined with a little of mine.”

“I love it, Drostan,” I whispered, and then decided to take the plunge and give him what he really wanted; even though it was probably a lie. “But I love you more.”

“Riley,” Drostan murmured in awed joy as he pulled me into his embrace. “You've made me so happy.”

“I'm happy too,” I took the lie further.

Drostan started kissing me as his hands parted my bodice. I lifted my skirts for him and laid back in the grass. He moved between my legs as he followed me; covering me with his body. Drostan angled his cock into me and rose above me with the first thrust. He stared down at me like I was everything he had ever wanted. I lifted my hand to his face, and the diamond in my ring caught a shaft of sunlight coming through the trees. It blinded me for a moment, and I squinted against the glare. Two other faces flashed within the light, and it was all I could do to control my expression. I pulled Drostan down to me and kissed him so that I wouldn't have to. As I did, I silently said goodbye to Trenton and Conall; marrying Drostan would effectively kill any hope of ever holding them in my arms again.

  Chapter Forty-Three

Drostan kept his promise to the Cu-sidhe and launched an investigation as soon as we returned to the castle. He summoned all of his castle staff and advisers and then spent hours interviewing every fairy with the amount of power required to give an order to send supplicants away. He made his way down from there; speaking to guards, maids, and even the gardeners. By the end of the day, Drostan had traced the line of command from the gate guards to his steward.

The castle steward was a sidhe with a secret grudge against Drostan. Drostan had the grudge removed, along with the steward's head. Then he had announcements delivered to all of the Unseelie villages that he would be receiving any and all fairies who needed assistance from their king. Along with that announcement went out the bans of our wedding.
