The Perfect Woman

“ We got shit to talk about!” He could see Harkness directing those words to him with a smirk. He was marching his way towards Klecko's office with a few files under his arm and his morning coffee held in hand. Klecko just took a deep breath as he barged in without even knocking, as though this office was his, it would have been, had it not been for Klecko.
“ You’re early?” Harkness was wearing his overly shiny orange tie, his two daughters had given him last Christmas. He never changed out of the damn tie, no matter how many times he bitched about it. He tossed the files under his arm to Klecko’s desk. “ A couple of cases we got to go over.”
Klecko closed the screen with Denise Hillshire picture and info before Harkness made his way around his desk. He smiled, playing the part as smoothly as could, before taking the files and pretending to glance over them. “ I got the time.” He calmly said, clearing his throat. “ What are you doing here early?”
“ My kid has the flu, I was up all night with the wife taking care of her. It’s a real bitch, but.” Klecko phased out what Harkness was saying, he would go on non stop about his family, as though Klecko should care about it. The only thing he could think of right now was about Denise Hillshire and what he planned to do next. Of course first he needed to find a way to get in contact with Denise by her call girl number, he bet if he searched around, he would find a number, he needed to do this quick. “Thought I would come in and clock some more hours, just in case. You know how that goes.”
Klecko snapped back into action as Harkness was done talking. “ I hear that.” He casually played along. He could feel his phone vibrate inside his pocket, he knew who it was. His mistress, no doubt calling about the strange voice-mail he left earlier. Last night revelation sent him off the wall, he had to call the girl that had lust for the same desire.
He waited for Harkness to take a seat across the desk, before he reached into his pocket to retrieved the phone, he read the text she had sent
“ What’s gotten into you, I couldn’t make sense of your phone call, is everything alright?”
He simply replied “ I know what I am.” and put the phone back into his pocket.
Chapter 31
Louder Than Bombs
The wind howls with an infant crying out for help, a burning house in the distance lights the night sky, embers drift in the wind landing on the dying field. Karen sits on a patio in the nude, her hair let lose for the wind to play around with. Sitting across of her is a gentlemen dressed in a tux, his face hidden behind a rabbits mask. Staring at her blankly, never once moving an inch. Droplets of blood drizzle down from a big oak tree. She looks up to see five blurry objects dangling from it, almost like Christmas tree ornaments. She giggles like a child, finding some humor in what she see’s. The masked man just shakes his head at her, disgust in what she’s laughing at. Out of thin air he makes a pot and two cups appear. “ Tea?” He asks her. His voice is more feminine than hers. She cracks up and can’t contain the laughter.
“ Yes, please.” She’s holding her sides, she can’t help it. The ember from the sky singe into her back, Karen screams and curses under her breath. The rabbit laughs. “ That wasn’t funny!” She grabs the cup and throws it at him, only to have the object pass through his body like an apparition.
“ Temper,” The rabbit voice changes into a much deeper and darker tone. “ You need to relax and have some tea.”
His voice scratches at Karen’s mind, she wants to kill him for some reason. “ Shut up!” She changes back into seven, In her little pink dress and bow on her hair as her mother would always dress her on Sunday’s whenever they went to church.
“ All little girls need to behave, if you don’t behave you’ll end up like them.” He points to the objects in the oak tree.
Karen looks up, the five figures dancing around in the wind are still blurry for her to make out. But the droplets of blood keep trickling down onto to her face. It takes a few seconds until she realizes whose up on the tree. “ No, what did you do!?” She shouts at the Rabbit, as she see’s Peewee hanging from the tree lifeless, Jamie is their with him, and three other people she can’t recognizing as well. “ Peewee, talk to me, please!” She cries, extending her little hand to him.
“ It’s your fault they’re up there.” The rabbit says while he drinks his tea so elegantly. “ You could have protected them, but you had to lead them to their deaths. Shame on you, Karen.”
“ Peewee, open your eyes.” Her heart feels as though it’ll stop at any moment, with each passing second she stares at his lifeless body, hoping this is a bad joke. “ Peewee, stop playing around.”
“ He’s dead.” The Rabbit laughs at her.
“ Please, save him.” She begs the Rabbit.
“ Why should I save him?” It giggles at her, almost falling off it’s chair. “ Isn’t this your thing?”
Karen awoke from a cold sweat as the sun was glaring down into her eyes. She let out a calm sigh as she realized she’s back in her apartment with her cell phone ringing off the hook, she grabbed the side of her temples as the image of the nightmare slowly faded away. “ What the hell is happening?” Karen asked herself, she turned over to see who the caller is. Peewee's number was flashing on the caller I.D. She sighs once more, knowing he’s still worried, she managed to talk to him around 3AM to tell him that she just needed some air, but who was she kidding, that little game they were playing turned into something far severe. “ What the hell is happening to me.” She grabbed onto her head tightly, trying to make this craziness stop and just get some form of sanity underneath her.
Chapter 32
Oh Sweet Lover
Rita already knew where this night was going. She could tell by the getup. “ So what's the name today?” She walked around the apartment, looking to see if there was any drugs laying around.
“ Sarah.” She comes out of the bathroom, freshly applied lipstick on. Sarah, as she's calling herself on this night tries to plant a kiss on Rita's cheek, only to have her dart away. “ Cold.” She brushes it off and gets her things ready.
“ You don't have to do this.” Rita gives a plead.
“ I do.” Sarah tells her. “ I gotta look after myself.” She knows that will sting Rita, but she wanted it to.
“ At least tell me who it is.” She begs her.
“ Why,” Sarah laughs. “ wouldn't do any good, clients don't use their real name.”
“ I told you, I would keep you safe.” They say their words, never once looking at each other.
“ Is that what you're calling it?” She laughs. “ It's ok, you don't have to keep me safe anymore. Now go catch that monster you've been trying to bring down for so long.”
The cold slam of the door. Rita is left with her thoughts alone.
Chapter 33
Another One Bites The Dust
The old elevator hummed to life, giving a steady shake as it crawled to the fourth floor of the studio complex. “ Oh, my fucking God, we’re going to die.” Caroline laughed maniacally as the shaking continued. Her arms were wrapped tightly around her lovers neck, the man she had met online, the one that was able to deliver the pleasure she desperately yearned for. His name was beautiful as he was, thick amber hair, eyes that could pierce the soul. “ Jacob.” she whispered into his ear, while she ran her hands down his back, feeling the scars she had inflected on him from two previous nights ago.
He wasn’t a pervert who wanted to hurt someone, he was an equal partner, one willing to inflect and receive as well. How that drove Caroline crazy. He never flinched or screamed for help as she took the leather strap to his bare back, he wanted her to go to as far she desired, without concerning herself about his well being. They were two animals set free from the chains of society, only allowing their desire and hunger to speak for them on that night. She remembered seeing the blood drip from his back, unable to contain herself, she wanted to know how his pain tasted like. Caroline debated herself whether to do so, only to have Jacob ask her to t
aste the blood dripping down from him. Tears ran down her face, he was bestowing so much trust into her, trust nobody else would ever give her. He was the missing part to her life. “ You and I will be together forever.” She told him as her tongue licked the gashes on his back, cleaning the blood right off him.
Jacob looked into her eyes, staring into her soul, peeling away the walls she had put up to keep everyone back. Two lost souls trying to find meaning, trying to understand what they were, and all it took was to find the other to have their questions answered. It was faith’s will. “ You have no idea how happy I am right now.” He smiled at her. The elevator came to a halt, he opened the doors and gave Caroline the tour of his studio. “ This is where the magic happens.”
Caroline glanced at the black drapes covering the windows, keeping the sunlight out. “ Very, Transylvania.” Caroline said.
Jacob ran to the corner of the room to retrieve something, Caroline decided to glance around his paintings, the artwork he bragged so much about. Each one had a different woman drawn beautifully in different poses, twelve gorgeous women who seemed to be plain, but yet seductive, except for one. “ What do we have here?” Caroline reached for the hidden painting that was covered with a sheet behind a crate, out of sight out from wandering eyes. She traced her fingers around the portrait, a sad looking woman that had no eyes, yet tears seem to drip down her cheek.
“ That one was so painful.” Jacob said behind her, startling her a bit. He handed her a bottle of water. “ Drink up, you’ll need it.”
“ Will I now?” She bit on her lip, she wasn’t expecting a day of fun and mischief. She opened the bottle and chugged the water down, finishing it in seconds. “ All done.” She said with a smile as she tossed the bottle aside.
“ That should knock you out in a few.” He said laughing.
“ Umm, it’s water.” Her vision blurred for a split second. She rubbed her eyes and paid no attention to it. “ So, are we going to have some fun.” She tried to wrap her arms around Jacob, only to have him brush her aside. “ What the fuck is your problem!” She yelled at him.
“ What where you before you met me?” he asked, walking to the back of the room, disappearing behind the curtains.
“ You better be taking something, “ Caroline fumbled with the words. “ Jesus, I feel odd.” She said giggling.
“ Answer the question.” He shouted from the back.
Caroline just snickered, she wasn’t in the mood for twenty questions, she wanted to be pleasured, but if it would get him to shut up, she didn’t see the problem in answering. “ I was disconnected from life, force to suppress who I was, just so people would think I was normal.”
“ What is normal?” He asked.
“ Normal is just a set of guidelines and rules set down by man, to pick out those who are different, people who clash with the views of the so called modern society.” All of a sudden Caroline felt she was among her peers, in a battle for supremacy.“ People whose views are far more demented of those in a mental hospital. People speak of pleasure as it‘s a bad thing, when the world applauds a life of genocide and wars.”
A loud thundering clap came from behind the curtain. “ Your words are like a sirens call, leading men to their deaths. I love it, it‘s like when you‘re in class debating.”
Caroline giggled once more, this time trying to fight to support her weight. “ You’ve never heard me debate.”
“ That’s where you’re wrong.” He cleared his throat. “ I have a confession to make my dear. I’ve been following for quite a while, keeping a close eye on you.”
“ You’re stalking me.” It was beginning to become harder for her to form words.
“ It’s not like that, you called out to me, like the others. You’re lost and alone, you want me to make you into something special. And, I plan to do so.” Jacob came from behind the curtain. “ I want to show you something, something I could never show the others. They wouldn’t understand, but I know you will.”
“ What, I want home.” She was minutes away from dropping on the floor.
“ You are home, this is your new home!” He pulled open the curtain, showing her his work of art. “ I’m assuming you know what piece you’ll be.”
“ Oh, God.“ She could feel the blood rush to her head, as she laid eye’s on Jacob’s art work that was staring right back at her. She wanted to scream, but she could feel her eyes began to close, as though she was falling into a deep sleep, she couldn’t stare away at what was standing in the room. “ You're crazy.” the words whispered out of her mouth as she collapsed to the floor, a combination of fright and a powerful sedative that was mixed into the water bottle.
“ Sleep well, my angel. You have such an adventure ahead of you.”
Chapter 34
Hold Your Tongue
Caroline could feel warm droplets of water splashing onto her face, the smell of iron in the air, the sound of tools being tossed around. She could feel someone’s finger digging into her mouth, she could hear his mutters and the hint of joy in his voice. She slowly began to open her eyes, finding it a task in itself, but once they were open, she was welcomed to the site of Jacob holding a knife in his hand, with two metal claps pulling out something pink and spongy from her mouth. Caroline tried speaking, only to fail. Soon the realization began to set in and the words he told her as she looked at his deformed creation. “ I‘m certain you know what part you‘ll be.” made sense, those claps were pulling out her tongue.
She tired to pull herself up, but she was tied down to the makeshift operating table. It was for her own well begin as she soon noticed, that her jaw had been pulled open, it seem to hang lose, resting on her clavicle bone. The pain had yet set in, no doubt aided by the sedative that was in the water.
Jacob snickered as she wiggled around. “ Stop it, you’re just going to damage yourself. This will be over soon.” Jacob needed to have a bigger entry to remove the tongue completely, He was forced to crack open the jaw, to get a better reach inside her mouth, it pained him to cause her this much discomfort, but it would be over soon. “ Once that tongue is out, you’ll get to live the life you really wanted.”
Caroline sobbed helpless on the table, she looked into his eyes, hoping to find some remorse, but there was none. He used a scalpel to began cutting into her tongue, the first incision was a small blinding pinch, then came the torment of her feeling the knife cut around the back of the mouth, seconds later the blood rushed from inside her mouth, her screams silenced by the blood going down her throat. Jacob’s eyes almost seemed regretful as he continued to saw away her tongue. “ Scream, release the pain.” He instructed her.
All Caroline could do was contort her body and thrash around the table to relieve the pain and anger. She tried to scream as Jacob had told her too, only to choke on the blood pouring down her throat, tasting the pain and suffering her body was in.
Moments later it came to an end, she could hear the clamps drop to the floor, Jacob hid her tongue from sight. He seemed to cradled it in his arms as a new born child. “ You’re beautiful.” He looked over at Caroline who was choking as her mouth over flowed with blood. He place the tongue into an ice box and walked towards Caroline. “ You’re free, you don’t have to suffer with pain anymore.” He undid the straps from her head, placed his hands on each side of her head. “ Be with your sisters.” He whispered into her ear, before snapping her neck.
“ I’m free.” The last single thought to run into Caroline’s mind before passing on.
Soon after silence fell over the room. The man name Jacob was left holding the dead body of his once companion, he stood over the body for minutes on in, shivering uncontrollably, as a mix bag of emotions ran through him each second. He let out a cry of pain, then of joy as the minutes passed. This was his time to grieve her passing but celebrate her new beginning. It was a relaxing moment that soothed his inner demon, but this would come to an end as the phone on the ground began to ring. “What now?” He placed Caroli
ne's body to rest and hurried to the phone.
“ What is it!?” He growled at the caller, the only person who had his number, for ruining his moment. He would rip their heart for this incident, that he was sure of, but the words they utter on the phone ended his rage and sent him in a tailspin. “ Tell me everything.”
Chapter 35
THE DOCTOR IS IN
“ How do I know you didn’t do something to me, plant something in my head, make me see something that wasn’t there. For all I know, I could still be asleep.” Karen smoked like a chimney, as she looked outside Scott’s Kitchen window, letting the fumes vent out into the hot musky air. “ Still on your couch, waiting for you to wake me up.”
“ First, That’s an interesting theory, if we were in a movie or in a book, but we’re not. This is reality.” He said to her, cleaning the sweat off his forehead. “ Second, where do you get off blaming me for what happened two nights ago.” He spat his anger at her.
Karen flicked her cigarette out the window the moment he rose his voice, she shot him a glance that only a few men have lived to tell about it. Scott nervously pushed himself a few inches away from the table, before uttering another word. “ But third,” He smartly said. “ maybe it’s no one’s fault.”
