  Yerra finished his dinner, still thinking about the Heralds. Their society was divided into factions based on power. Mages from level 5-8 were in the Battle Mage category. Levels 9-12 were War Mages. 12-15 were Masters, and 15-18 were Heralds. And then there were Lords and Monarchs, which didn't exist. The mage emperor was supposed to be a Monarch or higher… but nobody knew his true power level.

  “So, I'll be moving on tomorrow, Mother. I have a job to complete with the emperor.” Yerra stood and bowed.

  “I'm happy that we talked over dinner. I hope you’ll visit us again soon.” His mother smiled, and this time it was just a mother's caring smile and not the queen's smile.

  “I'll visit soon, Mother.” Yerra bowed once again and left the dining room. He had to get some sleep and check on Talia before he left for Sutra. A new adventure awaited him.
