"You take my breath away." His eyes darkened as they roved over her body.

"I thought you wanted to talk?" Her voice dropped to sexy phone operator level.

"I thought so too. Then you walked out looking like that." He stood, stalking toward her.

"I know. Maybe I'm not in the mood for talking myself. Maybe I'm in the mood for something else." She dropped the towel, her lips tilting in delight as he sucked in a breath.

"Oh yeah. In the mood for what?" He pulled his shirt over his head. Reaching for her, he pulled her flush against his body.

"Sex. Fucking. Making Love. Doing the dirty. Whatever you want to call it...I want it." She purred, stroking him through his jeans until he was rock hard.

"Christ, woman," he ground out, "I love it when you talk like that."

"I know you do." She dropped to her knees, unsnapped his jeans and dragged them down his legs. He stepped out of them, kicking them away, then stood naked before her, erection level with her mouth. She snaked out her tongue and caressed him.

"This is better than dream walking sex," she whispered, taking him into her mouth.

"Yes," he ground out as his hips began to move involuntarily. Closing her lips around him, she sucked and pressed her tongue along the swollen vein on his shaft.

"Mother of God." He gasped, grabbing her hair and pulling away.

"You don't like?" She frowned, looking up at him, her lips shining with wetness.

"I like it too damn much, little witch. I'll come in two seconds if you keep that up!"

Pulling her to her feet, he rested his forehead against hers, his breathing labored. "I love it. I love your mouth on me, the magic in your tongue alone does my head in, but I need to touch you too, taste you. Fuck it, I just want to be inside you." He growled, threw her onto the bed and followed her down. Pinning her hands above her head, he dropped his mouth to her neck, kissing, nibbling, licking his way lower, to her breast.

"Leave your hands there," he commanded, releasing her to cup her other breast in his hand and tease the nipple between his fingers as his teeth nipped and his mouth sucked at the other. She arched into him, little cries leaving her throat. Leaving her breasts in the capable hands of his fingers, he traveled lower, laving her stomach, hips, thighs. He nudged her legs open and settled between them, hands reluctantly leaving her breasts to skim down her sides, over her hips to slide beneath her and lift her to his mouth.

"Oh!" She let out a choked gasp as his tongue parted her folds and swept up in one long caress. Her hands tangled in the sheet above her head as she held on for dear life while his tongue did wonderful things.

"Stop," she whispered, clenching her legs against his head. He looked up at her.

"Am I hurting you, love?" He frowned in concern. She shook her head, face flushed.

"I need you inside me," she admitted. She relaxed her legs, releasing him, and he smiled, crawling up her body to settle against her, pushing into her slowly. She trembled beneath him, wrapping her legs around his waist to pull him deeper.

With each thrust she arched up to meet him, driving him wild until he was pounding into her relentlessly. Digging her nails into his back she clamped her teeth into his shoulder, pulling his blood into her mouth. He roared, pumped harder and returned her love bite, his fangs sinking into her neck and triggering her climax.

"I love you." He wrapped her in his arms and dropped kisses across her cheek to lightly nibble on her swollen lips.

"I love you too." Her voice hoarse from her screams, she blushed a little knowing the warriors would have heard them.

"Tell me. Everything. I need to know." His head dropped back on the pillow and he pulled her in close, tucking her head in the hollow between his shoulder and neck. She dropped a kiss on his chest and explained everything. The witches betrayal, the hunter who had stolen their magic, how she'd broken the jars and the souls of the witches were released, moving on to the ever after, while their magic lived on in her. How the hunter had wanted to die, and his parting words to her.

"First witch?" Zak murmured. "What does that mean?"

"I asked the same thing. It means I'm the first of the next generation...of witches."

"The next generation? I'm still not following," Zak said.

"Well...this isn't confirmed...and I'm not sure it's true...but..." She hesitated, it sounded crazy even to her, because it couldn't possibly be true.

"What is it?" He raised his head to look at her, concern in his eyes.

"The hunter told me I'm pregnant. That the child I'm carrying is the beginning of a new age of witches, and I'm the first witch."

"Pregnant? Sorry, sweetheart, not possible." He hugged her a little tighter. "I can't reproduce, and neither can you. There is zero chance you can be pregnant. Besides...even if there was the remotest possibility, I'd know it. We'd know it. We'd hear the heartbeat. Sense the change in your body. I'm not getting any of that."

"Zak? I think it might be true. I feel different. It could be all this magic, but, I don't know, something feels different. What if he's right?" She sat up, clutching the sheet to her chest and looking down at him, a frown drawing her brows together. "I'm not sure I'm good parent material. I drink way too much. I lose my temper way too often. And to be honest I wasn't particularly sorry that when I became a vampire I lost the ability to have kids. It took that decision away. But now?"

"Babe, you'd make a great mom. I promise you, you've got nothing to worry about. But seriously? You're a vampire." When she opened her mouth to protest he held up a hand in acknowledgment. "Okay, okay, you're part vampire, part witch. Not human."

"But the witch part? Witches are human, Zak. They have children. And you're a hybrid too. Part angel. Clearly, angels can reproduce or you wouldn't exist. What if the hybrid parts of us...?"

"Wait here." He cut her off. Sliding out of bed and pulling on his clothes, he disappeared, only to return minutes later holding a paper bag with the local chemist logo on it. He tossed it at her and she caught it, clutching it to her chest.

Opening the bag, she looked inside, already knowing what it was. A pregnancy test. Zak pointed to the bathroom and she obediently slid out of bed and ensconced herself in the bathroom. As she peed on the stick her mind whirled. It couldn't be possible, shouldn't be possible, but what if? Stranger things had happened, right? She'd been a vampire, now she was a vampire-witch hybrid. A super powerful mega witch who was destined to birth a new line of witches. It was her prophecy. She was the reason the hunter was cursed. Sitting the test on the counter, she flushed and washed her hands, eyeing herself critically in the mirror above the sink. She'd changed again. When she first became a vampire her skin had a strange glow, her hair was super glossy and shiny and her nipples and lips had turned a berry red. Now her skin was more human, sun-kissed like she was used to. Her hair maintained its shine, but her lips and nipples were pink again, the strong red color faded.

And she liked it. She finally admitted the truth. The vampire life wasn’t for her, but with her witch bloodline, things were different. A little crazy, a little scary, but she felt…hopeful. She wasn’t sure what being the first witch meant, what responsibilities it would lay at her door, but she was prepared to embrace them for she finally felt at peace with the direction her life was headed. And if there was a baby? Well, she’d do whatever she could to be a good mom, the best she could be. It might mean reading a book or two on parenthood, for the thought of being responsible for a tiny human was equally terrifying as it was exciting – she knew nothing of babies, apart from they cried a lot and pooped a lot.

Her hand wandered to her abdomen, stroking softly across her belly. Could there really be a baby? Could a little Georgia or a little Zak be growing inside her? A small grin tugged at her lips and a zing of excitement traveled up her spine. She hoped so. Now that the seed had been planted, so to speak, she hoped it was true.

A knock on the door made her jump. "You okay in there?" Zak’s voice was laced with concern.

>   "I'm fine."

  "Can I come in?"

"Not yet. I just need a minute. Or three." She wanted to see the test results first. It was unfair, she knew, since it affected Zak and he deserved to know if he was going to be a dad right along with her, but she just needed a second to absorb the news herself. She grabbed a dry towel and wrapped it around herself, covering her nakedness. This felt like a conversation that didn't need the distraction of naked flesh.

Finally, she turned to the test sitting on the counter, picked it up and looked.

  "Oh."

  "Georgia?"

She opened the door and held the stick out to Zak. His eyes held hers for a moment before dropping to the plastic wand she held in her hand. On the display in all its digital glory was one word.

  Pregnant.

  Author Notes

Thank you, I cannot express my appreciation enough that not only did you pick up the second book, but you read it all the way to the end and now you’re reading this as well!

I mentioned in the Author Notes at the back of First Blade that my inspiration to write it came from Georgia herself. She popped into my head and just wouldn’t quit. And while I hadn’t originally intended for Georgia and Zak’s story to become a series, once I started thinking about it I admit I didn’t really have a clue where the story was going to go. Then I watched an episode of The Vampire Diaries, and I believe it was Damon who said, “A vampire cannot be a witch.”

That triggered Georgia in a big way. She was all “Oh yeah? Says who?” and the idea behind First Witch was born. I also took some inspiration from the movie ‘The Last Witch Hunter’, only my hunter wasn’t a hero, he was the dastardly villain.

The turnaround with Georgia’s feelings towards the hunter was NOT what I expected at all. I expected her to hunt him down and take out his sorry ass with no remorse, but throughout the story, her feelings towards him slowly changed (as did his treatment of her) so that by the final scene, all she wanted was to save him. Her pesky temper got the better of her though.

Zak took a back seat in this story, but I think you still felt the love Georgia had for him, and her worry over not only his safety but Skye’s as well. I hadn’t planned for the hunter to take over Zak’s body – I was as surprised as everyone else. These two are full of surprises and when I think I have a clue about where their story is headed, well they see it as the perfect opportunity to throw me a curve ball and do something totally unexpected.

In the third book, First Blood, it’s all about the baby and impending parenthood. How will an angel-vampire and a vampire-witch handle it? And what special abilities will their little bundle of joy possess? We can assume that ‘bump’ is going to be ever so powerful, so that’s going to attract some undesirables to try and destroy their happiness. The vampires had a go in book one and were defeated. The witches tried in book two, we saw how they went down. Who’s left? You’ll have to wait until book three to find out!

I mentioned at the end of First Blade that I had no idea what I was doing when it came to self-publishing. I put that book out into the wild with no notice and no advertising. I’m getting a little bit better at it, but if you’d like to help a girl out, and if you enjoy reading these stories, you’ll tell your friends and encourage them to read it as well. The upshot is, the more people who read my books, the more it encourages me to write, to get more books out there for you to enjoy. That seems like a win-win scenario to me.

Please, if you enjoyed this book give it a rating on Amazon. Your kind words and encouragement help. Word-of-mouth is crucial for any author to succeed, so even if it’s only a line or two your review will make all the difference and is hugely appreciated.

You are the reason I write these stories and I sincerely appreciate each of you!

  Thank you.
