“I want babies.”
“Where did that come from?”
“Lots of them. Or, if you’d rather, we can adopt?”
“I’m more than capable of servicing your needs, missy.”
She threw her head back in a laugh. “Say yes.”
“Yes to what?”
“Us.”
“I believe I did that first time you broke into my home like the wanton criminal you are.”
“You knew then?”
“Suspected. How about you?”
“The moment you stepped into my office that first time. I couldn’t breathe properly. You were so arrogant and sexy and didn’t care who I was.”
“I probably still owe you an apology for my behavior.”
“Yes, you do. See that you make it up to me.”
I quirked a smile. “I hear they organize diving excursions in town. Fancy a trip out on a boat tonight?”
She narrowed her gaze.
“I was thinking of a sunset cruise? No sharks allowed.”
“Now that I’d enjoy.”
“I’ll book it then.”
She leaned into me and the day began as I always hoped it would - with her in my arms.
I couldn’t keep my hands off her. Whether we were merely snuggling on the porch swing or when we showered in the morning, our need to be together was overwhelming. The way she nurtured me, held me, listened so profoundly to all I had to say. And I enjoyed nothing more than lying on the couch, or on the bed, or even the floor, and listening to the sexy huskiness of her voice reassuring me all would be well with our world.
