“Let's get the room first, okay?” he said, holding my hand as we walked to the enormous building.
“Yeah. A hot bath while I can still get up and down would be nice.”
“Am I gonna have to start hosing you off soon?”
He laughed as he put his hand on my stomach briefly. I rolled my eyes at his attempt at humor, but I smiled. When I was sixty and wrinkly, he'd still be making me laugh. That was one of the real reasons I loved him.
“No, I think you'd like that too much.”
We walked in the casino as if we owned the place. I had a couple grand with me, more than enough for us to spend a couple days playing penny slots and spending time together. If we got lucky, we might leave with about the same amount of money. After we got a room for two nights, we headed upstairs. Our suitcases were still in the car, but I knew he'd go to get them a little later after we settled in.
“You want to hit the slots first?”
I just smiled as I slid the key card and opened the door. He walked in, and I followed. Once inside, I didn't waste any more time. I wrapped my hands around my waist and kissed him on the mouth. Somehow, the kiss was different than all the others we'd had since we met. Maybe it was my hormones or something, but I noticed a distinct difference.
“Should we be kissing?” he asked.
“Don't be silly. I'm not that big yet. Pregnancy makes me horny.”
We continued kissing as I started to take off his clothes. He did the same with mine. When we were naked, we walked to the bed and sat down on the covers. The blinds were open and the sun was shining in, but we were on the second floor and I didn't care. I reached out and began stroking him as we kissed some more. His lips were so soft and he knew how to move them in just the right way.
Our tongues joined the action soon after, and I felt his strong, firm hand make its way between my legs. I spread them a little. His fingers brushed against my neatly trimmed mound of pubic hair and then my lips. I inhaled quickly as when he finally touched my slit. My nipples hardened along with his cock, his perfect white cock.
“Stand up,” I said, not really wanting to get down on my knees.
He stood in front of me. I reached out and grabbed his hips, pulling him closer to me. His cock, almost completely hard, bobbed up and down in the air in front of me. Slowly, I let the just the tip penetrate my lips. His moans filled the air as I sucked on him, pulling and pushing him into me with my hands on his ass cheeks, which were firm and tight.
I worked more and more of him into my mouth each time. Then I grabbed his shaft by the base with my right hand while continuing to suck. He was the perfect height for me not to have to move or really put stress on my body. And for some reason, he tasted different to me. Just like our kiss was different, my lips sliding up and down his smooth shaft wasn't the same as it had been in the past.
When he pulled back suddenly, I thought something was wrong. I'd got so caught up in my thoughts, enjoying the sensation of sucking him off. He got down on his knees in front of me. His hands ran up and down my thighs a few times before he started kissing me. After starting with my knees, he made his way up my inner thighs, peppering them both with kisses.
His tongue then lightly traced the outline of my pussy lips, teasing them. I grabbed him by the hair and pulled his face closer. He got the idea and began licking and kissing all the right spots. Closing my eyes, I laid back and let him continue. This sensation was also unfamiliar. He had eaten me out on more than one occasion, but he was going slowly this time.
Each flick of his tongue sent waves of pleasure through my body then back to my clitoris. He knew exactly where to touch me as he gradually worked his way closer to my little nub. As he gently sucked on it with his lips, I pressed my pussy against his face tightly and moaned. I didn't want to come yet, so I pushed his head away.
“I want you inside me.”
He stood up and put his hands on my hips. Slowly, I felt him penetrate me. Then he began moving faster, each thrust harder than the last. Then he leaned over me, his elbows on the bed next to me, and started moving slower as he kissed and suckled my nipples. The sex in our relationship was going to be great. I should have been worried about the rest of it, but all I could concentrate on was him inside me.
I wrapped my legs around him, pulling him closer each time he pushed his cock in my tight, wet hole. He was just the right size for me. The friction of his skin sliding against mine made me even wetter. Then he began kissing me. His tongue thrust into my mouth, turning me on even more. We continued to kiss as he slightly changed his angle of entry, driving me crazier.
“I love you.”
When the words slipped out of my mouth, I was too turned on to even worry about saying them. The moment he heard the words, he started to fuck me even harder. I grabbed his back as my breathing increased. His skin slid against mine. I stared into his eyes and saw the rest of my life looking back. In that moment, the world ended for just a second as I came.
My pussy muscles tightened around him as my body shook. A moment later, he grunted and thrust into me one last time. I felt his cock throb as he came inside me. His body shook a moment or two before he carefully pulled out and stood up. I stared up at him, and I felt good. The afterglow of the orgasm was part of it, but even more important, I somehow knew things were going to work out for all three of us.
“That was amazing. I'm going to clean up. Unless you want the shower first?”
“Together? While we still can, I mean.”
I smiled, sat up, and punched him in the stomach lightly. “Shut up with that. I am NOT going to get huge.”
“We'll see,” he said then darted toward the bathroom.
Slower, I followed. We were soon in the shower together. The warm water rained down on both of us. I soaped him and he soaped me. My nipples were a little sore. I was sure things were going to get a lot stranger before the pregnancy was over.
“This was a good idea,” I said, hugging him, my head against his chest, the water hiding my tears.
“Thanks. You okay?”
“Just emotional,” I said then pulled away and smiled. “Ready to go lose some money?”
“I'm feeling lucky.”
“Well, you got lucky finding a beautiful black princess like me, but we'll see if it holds out downstairs.”
After the shower, we dried each other off. He got dressed and ran to get our suitcases while I did my hair. When he got back, we both put on something comfortable and headed down to the casino floor. The penny slots welcomed us with open arms, buzzing beeps, and flashing lights.

Luke
As soon as we hit the casino floor, a certain couple stood out. A young man and woman had three children running around and screaming. They were both obviously trying to take control of the situation but were over their heads. What surprised me most was that they still didn't have it down after their third child. Was I doomed to a similar fate.
Serena noticed them too but didn't say anything either. We sat next to each other on the semi-comfortable stools and each slid a twenty dollar bill into the machine in front of us. She reached out and took my hand in hers before she started playing, which was odd as she usually didn't like public displays of affection. Or at least that was what she'd told me.
I reached out, placed my bet to the highest possible then hit the button. Images flashed on the screen in front of me, combined with hypnotic music, but I couldn't concentrate on what was coming up. All I could think about was whether or not Serena was going to change. What did I really know about her? The only time we'd spent together was fucking our brains out.
Had I somehow put her on a pedestal? Was I in love with a fantasy image of her I'd created in my mind? Playing slots, having dinner and chilling out and watching movies together in the room would be a good test. She squeezed my hand, and I pressed the button again, wasting another dollar. Then I heard loud bells on her machine.
“I won,” she said excitedly, clapping
her hands.
When I looked at the screen, I couldn't believe my eyes. A large ten thousand dollars was floating on the screen. Cartoon fireworks shot across the screen.
“Wow.”
“That's it? Wow?”
She laughed, continuing to clap her hands. When the animation ended, she cashed out and waved the white ticket in the air in front of me.
“Dinner's on you tonight, right?”
“Of course. We're going to have to talk about money eventually. I mean, what's mine will become yours because I know you don't have a lot.”
I didn't let how much that statement had hurt me show as I nodded my head and smiled. Did she really just see me as a financial burden? Was she playing games with my heart?
“That's a lot of money. You want to keep playing?”
“You know what, I'm actually kind of tired. Do you mind if we go back up to the room and watch a movie or something?”
“Sure. We can order a pizza or something if you want.”
“You know what I'm crazing? Fish sticks. Don't ask me why.”
She tilted her head to the side in that cute way she had that drove me wild. I took a deep breath and tried to convince myself that I'd been thinking crazy, that we were going to be a great couple, totally normal.
“I'm not sure if we can get any, but okay.”
On the way back up to our room, we once again passed the parents trying to control their children.
“Who brings their children to a casino?” she asked once we were alone in the elevator.
“Bad parents apparently. I didn't think they were even allowed in a casino.”
“I'm glad I'm not them.”
“Well, we're going to be parents soon.”
She sighed. “I know. Don't remind me.”
“You don't sound too thrilled.”
“I'm sorry, I'm just tired.”
The elevator door slid open, and we walked to our room. She grabbed the remote then settled into the bed, sitting up with pillows behind her back against the headboard. I went to the other side and got on the mattress beside her. In that moment, I realized I didn't even know what she liked to watch on television. I hoped she wasn't into reality television shows.
“I don't think we've ever watched TV together,” she said as she glanced at the guide on the screen.
“I was just thinking that.”
“Really?”
She turned to me, smiled, then went back to the television.
“Yeah, I was wondering what type of television you like watching.”
“I don't know. I don't watch a lot of shows, but I enjoy movies every once in a while.”
“What kind?”
It felt weird asking her that after having known her for so long.
“Depends on my mood, I guess. You gonna ask me my favorite color next?”
Her sarcasm was usually toned down when we were having sex. I knew she was that type of person, but I finally realized I was going to be around her a lot more if we were in a relationship and raising a child together. Was I ready? The answer eluded me as she selected How Stella Got Her Groove Back. I'd never seen it, but I was willing to give it a chance.
We sat back and relaxed, watching the movie. At one point she reached down and put her hand over mine, her finger gently stroking my skin, but then she stopped. When the movie was over, I realized she had fallen asleep sitting up. I got out of bed, thinking that it would wake her up. Instead, she laid down completely, mumbling a little.
I stared down at her. She looked so peaceful, but I knew she had a temper. Even without spending a lot of time with her, I knew the basics. Was she just settling for me because I'd gotten her pregnant? The doubts flew back into my mind. Something deep inside me took over, and I let my instincts take over. I grabbed my suitcase and silently made my way out the door, leaving the key card with her.
A moment later, I was walked down the hallway toward the elevator. I kept expecting her to burst out of the room and yell for me, like some scene from a romantic movie, but she didn't. On the first floor, I decided to go to the bar and have a drink before calling a cab and leaving. My plan was to just go and live with my brother in Alaska and hide out. She would be better raising the baby on her own.
In the bar, I sat down. The only other patron was on the far end. I ordered a scotch on the rocks as I set my suitcase on the floor next to me. As soon as I sat down, the other guy walked over and sat down next to me. I gave him half a smile as I looked him over. He hadn't shaved in a few days and from the smell he hadn't bathed in a while either.
“This guy bothering you?” the bartender asked as he returned with my drink.
“No, it's fine.”
“Thanks, buddy,” he said. “I've had a rough month.”
“Lose a lot of money?”
“Lost a lot more than that...”
His voice trailed off as he began to sob. Living on campus with four other guys, I wasn't used to a man showing his feelings, especially someone I had just met.
“My boy,” he sobbed.
“Excuse me?”
“I lost my boy. He's dead and he's not coming back. So I thought fuck it, I'll come here and waste a little money.”
“Your boy? I'm sorry.”
I wanted to ask him what happened, but I didn't want him to break out into another fit of tears.
“He died a year ago today.”
“I'm sorry.”
We fell into an uncomfortable silence. After my first drink, I decided to have another. If I stayed with Serena and the baby, I'd definitely have to cut down on my drinking. Until then, I just wanted to clear my head. I ordered the man another drink as well.
“Thanks, buddy. Name's Tom. You?”
I shook his hand. “I'm Luke.”
“Nice to meet you Luke.”
“So, what happened?” I asked once our drinks arrived.
“I wasn't paying attention. I just turned for a second...”
He burst into tears again. I put my hand on his shoulder, but he pulled away, moving back to his seat across the bar. All of a sudden, reality hit me. I had a wonderful woman upstairs who worked hard and who was pregnant, and I was sneaking out while she was asleep. I felt ashamed of myself. After I finished my second drink, I slowly made my way back upstairs.
The suitcase felt heavier somehow. I knew going back to her room was a life changing decision, but talking to the man in the bar had made me realize that having a child was a gift, even if it was unexpected and accidental. Everything had a reason if you looked hard and long enough. I knew how Serena had gotten pregnant, but I wasn't sure why it had happened to us.
When I got back to the room, I realized I'd left the key card because I didn't think I would be coming back. I set my suitcase down and rested my forehead against the door as I tried to decide what to do. Was staying with Serena and raising my child the right thing to do? My life was quickly becoming more complicated than I was accustomed to it being. I stood up and knocked.

Serena
The knock at the door startled me. Where was Luke? I wondered as I got up and walked over to open it. When I saw Luke, I smiled at first, thinking he'd locked himself out going to get a pop or something. Then I looked down and saw the suitcase. Sadness and fear swept over me instantly. Was I not good enough for him? Despite my best efforts, I found myself crying.
“Hey, it's okay.” he said, reaching out to touch my arm.
I pulled away. “You're leaving? Without me?”
“I was going to...” His voice trailed off as he walked in the room and shut the door.
“But?”
“Can we sit down?”
He walked over to the loveseat near the window and took a seat. I sat next to him, staring at his face.
“I don't want you around if you just feel sorry for me. We don't need you.”
“Settle down. I was thinking of running again, but I met someone downstairs.”
I looked into his eyes an
d knew he wasn't lying. His left eyebrow always twitched just a little bit when he was lying to me. I didn't know a lot about him, but I knew that much at least.
“And?” My sadness was quickly turning to anger.
“This guy lost his kid.”
Luke's voice was a little shaky, which had me suddenly feeling sad again. As he told me the story, I couldn't help crying. He reached out and held me as I sobbed, rubbing my back gently. Our future together was still uncertain, but I suddenly had a very good feeling, and it wasn't connected to winning thousands of dollars at penny slots.
“Let's move in together,” I said as I pulled back and wiped my eyes on my sleeve.
“I think that would be a good idea.”
I smiled, suddenly reassured. Everything was still up in the air, but we were talking. Communication was important for any relationship. That was one of the first lessons I'd learned as a businesswoman.
“It took me by surprise, too,” I said, wanting to open up to him. “I wanted to tell you so bad, but I was afraid.”
“You know what's funny?”
“What?”
“The whole time, I was thinking about how to convince you that we should have a real relationship and not just be fuck buddies.”
I pulled my head back as a look of shock spread across my face. “Really? I always thought you liked us just drifting and having fun.”
“Oh, I did for a while. Don't get me wrong. It's just that...I don't know. Maybe I'm getting older or just tired of living with a bunch of college guys on campus.”
“Am I hearing this right?” I said sarcastically then smiled.
“Okay, okay, settle down. I just think that if we're going to be moving forward we need to be as open and honest with each other as possible.”
“I agree. Let's do this living together thing and see if it works out. I'm coming to live with you on campus, right?”
He rolled his eyes. “Very funny. I'm trying to be serious.”
“I know. I'm sorry. This is just a big change for me. I've been freaking out about work.”
“They're not going to want to lose you even if you have to go away for a few weeks.”
