“Darling?” he eventually asked. He didn’t know quite what he had been expecting from her underwear; maybe a little lace, maybe he’d even been hoping for an old-fashioned corset with hooks and eyes and buttons he could slowly get to work on. But this?

  “Yes?”

“Are you wearing long johns under your wedding dress?”

She nodded with satisfaction. “They’re fleece. So cozy. Are you getting undressed?”

She helped him take off his clothes as he pulled down her long johns. They lay on the animal furs, and she giggled until his hand moved between her legs. Then she gasped for breath instead. He knelt over her, kissed her stomach. Pulled off her panties, which did actually have a little lace on them. Kissed her again, mumbled into her warm skin, and kissed her again and again until she was panting beneath him.

That night, the Northern Lights danced above Abisko in a way they rarely ever do. In fact, there were many who could confirm that it was an extraordinary show. Perhaps the biggest ever. The kind the papers would write about and the wedding guests would talk about for years to come. But Ambra and Tom saw none of it. They were otherwise engaged.

  FALLING

A gripping, glittering novel of scandal and suspense that ranges from Sweden to New York City to Africa, from the bestselling author of All In . . .

Alexander de la Grip is known in the tabloids and gossip blogs as a rich, decadent, jet-setting playboy who spends most of his days recovering from the night before. With a string of beautiful conquests, he seems to care about nothing and no one.

Isobel Sørensen has treated patients in refugee camps and war zones, and is about to depart Sweden for a pediatric hospital in Chad. Devoted to her humanitarian work, she cares almost too deeply. Especially when she learns that Alexander is withholding desperately needed funds from her aid foundation.

Is it because she’s the only woman who ever told him to go to hell?

As the two push each other’s boundaries to the breaking point, the truth turns out to be much more complicated. Pain, love, trust, betrayal. Which will triumph when safety is nothing but an empty word?

  Praise for FALLING

“Outstanding . . . Complex, fully realized characters, settings that range from Swedish castles to a barely equipped hospital with exhausted personnel and dying children, and a dangerous rescue mission with a breathtaking finale make this a page turner to savor.”

  —Publishers Weekly STARRED REVIEW

“One of Ahrnstedt’s greatest strengths is her ability to recognize the romantic potential in the smallest of everyday details, and it is one of those details that makes both the romantic story lines in this second High Stakes novel so compelling.”—RT Book Reviews
