The Assassin the Djinn and the Hundred Year Wish

“Indeed I did, and I’m talking to you now so it’s clear she hasn’t killed you in your sleep. But did you break her as promised?”

Marsh thought about it. “If you mean is she now pliable to things you might need in the future Taylor, then yes. You know, I don’t know why you had such trouble with her, all she really needed was a good spanking.”

“My people lack the finesse that you have, and I didn’t have the time to spend on her myself.”

“Won’t hear me complaining,” Marsh said. “So I take it you’re not facing the firing squads now?”

“Not at all, excellent job there. The Duvall assassins are by far the best I’ve worked with. All accusations have been dropped.”

“Because the mouths accusing are void of voice now.” He chuckled and walked back towards the bedroom to see that Janey had changed position. Now on her back, her generous breasts only just covered by the satin sheet. Her arm was thrown over her head and she was snoring. He grinned to himself and shook his head. “You owe me big Demon…” he said and leaned against the fall.

“Oh, I’d say the favor scale tips towards you. After all you do now have the healthy Jane as your own.”

Marsh laughed again. “I should have known you knew about the cancer.” He sighed. “I owe you nothing. I take it my payment has been wired?”

“You’ll find it’s been transferred. I know a lot of things, Nick, but if you don’t owe me someone does.”

“I’m sure you’ll take your pound of flesh out of some willing female then.” he said unconcerned with the Demon’s threat. “And I guess on that note I should go, unless you have some world-changing statement to make, I do have a companion to get back to.”

“I don’t need words to change the world, Nick. Just time, and that I have in spades. Tell your woman she owes me, and I’ll be sure to collect. If she’s lucky, I’ll forget the last conversation we shared.”

“Yeah, I would seriously like to see you collect on anything from her. Just be happy she did what she was supposed to do, Demon. Now, if you will excuse me? I have a bleary-eyed lover staring at my junk with need.”

“Good luck with that. Tell Jane I’ll be in touch.” The Demon hung up the phone stealing Marsh’s retort.

“Shady ass Demon…” he mumbled and looked over at Jane who had an eyebrow raised. “What? That was Taylor, he sends his love.”

“Somehow I doubt that. You know, I could have sworn I warned you about him. We got played. At least I knew it.”

“Played? I got you; you got that crap wished away. All the Demon has is the ability to work his nefarious plans. He’s still miserable, and it sounds like he’s pent up too.” He smirked. “You on the other hand are giving me the eye like I’m a steak.”

“Am I supposed to look at you any other way?”

Marsh grinned, threw his cell on the chair and stalked towards her, his cock leading the way. He looked down at her with reckless abandon. She was so perfect, so beautiful, so his. A woman he could contend with, the kind of personality that really got his motor running, one that would never make life boring. Yes, he did have the Demon to thank for the bounty before him, but he wouldn’t. The Demon had enough of a damn ego as it was, and Marsh wasn’t one to add fuel to the fire.

“Look at you, all laid out like an offering,” he murmured and knelt onto the bed proper, leaning down to kiss her.

“Again, how else am I supposed to look with you walking about so sexy?” She stretched out further, displaying herself more. “I am in need of your attention, buddy, partner…what’s the correct term for us?” She sat back up on her elbows her hair cascading over her shoulders. “It sure isn’t husband. I don’t have a ring, and you are not the marrying type. Neither am I for that matter.” She pulled a face. “Could you picture that wedding, my side would be all brutal assassins and yours would be empty. You’d have me believe the Djinn’s hatched out of an egg.” She grinned enjoying very much mocking Djinn and Marsh’s lack of information concerning them.

Nick raised an eyebrow and kissed her again, the idea of marriage not leaving such a bad taste in his mouth. And if she believed his side would be empty, she really believed her egg comment. “Now, pet, just because I don’t tell you doesn’t mean that there’s no information. With no mystique in the relationship, how would we ever last the hundred years?” Or beyond. She gave him another pouty frown, and he nipped her bottom lip.

“As for the correct term, you, pet, are my consort, and I am your Djinn… and nothing will ever change that.” He lay out next to her and gathered her to him, his hands running down her spine as she wiggled closer. Gods, how he loved her. He knew he made the right choice then, as she kissed him, palmed his length and murmured her need to him once again. Ever insatiable, Jane was perfect for him, despite her need for answers, and her penchant for threatening violence to his person. If he was honest with himself, he loved that she was so volatile, and so different from any other woman he had ever met, ever considered keeping for always. Jane was perfection, and he, for the first time in his very long life, was content with the hand he had been dealt.
