Jake glanced at the door worriedly and said, “No, I am sorry that I put you in that position.” He cast a worried glance at Damon who was already moving to wrap me up in his arms. I sobbed against his chest as he drew me from my chair. “I wasn’t always a good guy, Mia, and I am sorry that I put you in that position,” Jake added, and I knew that he was just trying to cover for us.

I peered at him through Damon’s embrace and silently mouthed, “Thank you.” Taking a deep breath, I pulled away from Damon, but slipped my hand into his as I reached for a tissue. I wiped my eyes and then sat back in the chair. “So what are you going to do when they release you?”

Jake smiled and played with the edges of his blanket. He shook his head. “I don’t know. Probably go crazy in my apartment until I can heal fully. I don’t think I will have a job by the time I am healed, so I will have to figure something out.”

“Are your parents coming to help care for you?” I asked.

His mouth twisted into a grimace. “No. My parents won’t be coming to help.”

I gasped softly at the anger that was in his eyes at the mention of his parents, but my focus was on his health. “Is there anyone that can come and help you?”

He shot a pleading glance towards Damon, but Damon didn’t make any reply or try to intervene. “No. But I am capable of taking care of myself,” he said.

“Then it’s settled,” I said and I gave him a stern glance. “When you are released, you are moving in with us until you are healed.”

“What?” both Damon and Jake said together.

I laughed at the looks on their faces as Damon said, “Not that I don’t want to help, but I wanted to spend time alone with my fiancé.”

Jake grimaced and said, “Yeah, and I don’t really want to listen to you guys spending time together. Honestly, Mia, I can take care of myself. It’s okay.”

I glanced up at Damon and smiled softly at him. Even with all the tragedy around us, I was still turned on by him and the things he hinted at when he mentioned spending time together. However, despite that desire, I was not letting someone who saved my life heal on their own. He needed my help and he was going to get it whether he wanted it or not. “We will have our whole lives to be together,” I said to Damon before I turned to Jake, “And I am not taking no for an answer. It is the least that I can do, considering.”

The set of his jaw made it clear that he was about to argue, but I raised an eyebrow at him. “Besides, I could use some help planning the wedding. I haven’t discussed it with Damon yet, but I want to be married in early fall...the sooner the better, so it doesn’t leave much time.”

Jake laughed at the way Damon’s face went pale. The man could stare death in the face without even flinching but the prospect of marriage made him quake in his boots. “Well...if only to watch Damon squirm,” Jake chuckled before he sighed. “Thank you, Mia, Damon...I appreciate it. I don’t want to be rude...but I feel exhausted and really want to sleep.”

I nodded and stood up. Bending over his bed, I placed a kiss on his forehead. “I’m sorry we kept you up.”

“Don’t worry about it,” Jake said, but I could tell that he was fading quickly.

“We’ll leave you then and I will see you tomorrow when I come visit,” I said before I walked to the door. Pausing, I turned back to see Damon giving his friend a hug...tears springing to my eyes at the sight.

“Thank you, my friend,” Damon murmured before we slipped through the door.

  Chapter Three

The hand reached out from the darkness and my scream was cut off by a hand closing over my mouth. I reached out to fight as I was dragged into a closet, my hands hitting a hard chest. Then I smelled the unique scent that is Damon and I relaxed against him as he said, “Shhh.”

Carefully pulling his hand away from my mouth, Damon said, “I didn’t want you to be heard when I abducted you for a few minutes.”

I laughed and punched him. “You scared the crap out of me. Why are you pulling me into a closet?”

He wrapped his arms around me and pulled my hips against his. I felt his shaft and immediately my desire flooded through me. Just a touch and I was ready to do anything and everything that he asked of me...and he asked a lot of me. In fact, since we had become engaged, Damon had explored the depths that we could go in our lovemaking. The other night, when he had cuffed me to the bed had been amazing and by the time we finished, I was shaking from the release I’d had. “Why do you think I brought you in here?”

I smiled in the dim light as I looked into his sparkling eyes, “To dust...or maybe you need me to clean out the closet?”

“You need to clean out something, but it isn’t the closet,” he growled and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up at the sound. He was definitely ready for some closet lovemaking.

“Well, you are just going to have to wait,” I said and turned to reach for the doorknob. I’m not sure if I meant to leave or just tease him, but Damon didn’t give me a chance to decide. Instead, he swatted my hands from the knob and turned me into the wall. One of his arms slid around my waist and he pulled my ass against his hard shaft as I groaned against him.

His other hand grabbed my wrists, and he placed them against the wall. “Hold them here,” he commanded, and I knew well enough to listen. If I didn’t, Damon found ways to have me screaming for more. He never hurt me, but he always left me aching for his cock, mouth, or fingers when I didn’t do what he said. I absolutely loved it—a side of myself that I had never known existed. Of course, I have never told Damon that.

I felt the hard walls of the closet beneath my palms, and I leaned forward to ease the strain on my arms. Damon growled his approval as my ass brushed against his hard shaft, so I did it again. He groaned and bit at the back of my neck, nibbling the flesh as he ground his cock against me. Passion beat in my veins, and I wanted to feel him deep inside of me.

Damon’s hands roamed over my back, and he slid them down my sides as gooseflesh popped on my skin. “You look beautiful today in this little sundress. I think blue is my favorite color on you.” He ran the fabric through his hands as he pulled it up at my hips. He sucked in his breath, and I smiled in triumph over my shoulder. “Why are you wearing those?” he asked, fingering the soft fabric of my small panties.

“In case we had a chance to have a quicky,” I purred revelling in his reaction to my naughty panties. “They’re crotchless so you don’t even have to slip them off.”

He groaned and sank to his knees behind me. My ass was mostly bare since the panties were basically just a scrap of fabric, and he bit the bare section causing me to squirm against him. “Hold still. I need to see this beautiful ass,” he slapped one of my cheeks softly, but it had just enough sting for me to fidget—earning another, sharper slap.

I grew still at that and focused on my hands splayed against the closet wall as his hands slid over my ass. He kissed the skin he had reddened with his hands before he bit it again. Liquid flooded to my pussy, and I felt dripping wet at what he was doing—and he hadn’t even touched my pussy yet.

Damon kissed the tender skin again, seconds before his hand slapped down on my ass. I felt the flesh vibrate from his slap, and it went straight down to my core. I moaned and earned another slap. “Stay quiet or they’ll find us,” he whispered.

I knew who they were—Jake, my mom, and Frank. They were all staying with us for a week as I tried on wedding dresses, then Mom and Frank would be gone until the wedding next month. Of course, Jake would still be here and had been for the last two months since he had been released from the hospital. It was hard to believe that so much time had gone by since that horrible day. The wedding was supposed to be a month ago, but with everything going on, we didn’t have time to really plan anything. So the wedding was going to be mid-fall, not early.

A growl from Damon, combined with a slap on my ass, brought my mind right back to him and what we were doing. All thoughts of our parents, Jake, and the wedding fled from my mind
and all I could think about was that sting that created a strange mixture of sting edged pleasure for me. My nipples ached from not being touched and my pussy pulsed with every slap Damon placed upon my bottom.

Then I felt it, his tongue pressing between my ass crack. It slipped down between the slits of my pussy and deep inside of me. I bit my lip to keep from crying out as my vision swam before me. His tongue lapped at my opening, and I felt my bare toes curl in ecstasy. I opened my legs wider as his fingers glided across my clit—causing me to shudder in sweet torture.

His tongue played inside of me while his fingers pinched and twisted the sensitive nub between my legs. I shivered as I felt my legs weaken, but I held myself upright as my climax ripped through me. “Shhhh,” he hissed and then he was drinking the juices that flowed from me, groaning in pleasure. Even now, after knowing how he affected me, I still blushed at how dripping wet my pussy got.

Damon wiped his mouth with his hand and then stood up behind me. He pushed me forward so my head was resting on my hands as he undid his jeans and pulled them down to his ankles. I glanced over my shoulder and saw the fevered desire in his eyes as he took his cock in his hand and pumped it twice.

He positioned himself behind me and before I could even think, his cock was buried to the hilt in my pussy. I yelped at the sudden invasion as he brushed against my cervix, but then I felt my pussy molding around his invading member. The walls of my pussy tightened around his shaft, and Damon buried his head in my hair as tried to stifle his groan.

I pressed back against him, driving him deeper inside of me, and then we were moving together as his erection slid in and out of me. My eyes rolled into the back of my head as I tried to keep from yelling out, and I could tell that he was having just as hard a time staying quiet. I felt my core clenching around him and the all too familiar coil of need twisting in my gut seconds before it came undone and I was tumbling through my orgasm.

Damon followed me with a growl, and I felt his seed deep inside of me. I was vaguely aware of wishing that I would get pregnant and then I froze... “Frank, have you seen Mia?” My mom was just outside the closet door and here I was, panting heavily. I was positive that she could hear me.

With his shaft still buried deep inside of me, Damon placed his hand over my mouth and whispered, “Be very quiet. I don’t want your mom to find us like this.”

I agreed with him completely—that would be bad considering how hard it had been since I told her we were engaged. “No, Judy. I haven’t seen her. Maybe she just stepped out for air.” Frank replied directly beside the closet. I wanted to die!

“Well, maybe I should go looking for her...and...and Damon.”

I listened closely and I was positive that Frank had placed his arm around Judy from the sound of the pause. “I am sure that they are just on the beach having a walk. You remember what it is like to be engaged,” Frank assured her.

“Don’t remind me,” Judy cried. “You know I am completely against this wedding...against this marriage. Why did you drag me down here?”

“I dragged you down here because they love each other, whether you agree or not. And I dragged you down here because she is your only daughter and you will end up losing her if you keep fighting this.” For the first time since knowing him, I realized that I loved Frank. Despite how hard it must be for him, he was risking his wife’s wrath by standing up for Damon and me.

“Look, Judy, why don’t you go back out on the deck with Jake and I’ll make us a fresh batch of margaritas. It won’t look so bad if you are drunk...plus, I may even get lucky.”

I rolled my eyes as my mother laughed and then I heard them walking away. While we had listened, Damon had pulled out of me, and I felt his seed running down my leg. He took off his shirt and wiped between my legs to clean me up a bit, but it was no use. I needed a wet cloth.

Putting my dress right, Damon pulled up his underwear and jeans and then planted a hot kiss to my lips. “We should probably get back to our little dinner party. They are obviously looking for us.”

I nodded. “Well, considering that I was just heading to the kitchen to make margaritas, I can see why they would wonder where I went.”

“Hey, before you go and get all mad at me, just remember that you were as hot as I was and I didn’t hear you complaining,” Damon said with a laugh.

Laughing, I moved to the door and said, “I would never complain about having sex with you. Now can we pretend that we were out for a quick walk...and not a quicky?”

“Sure thing,” he said as he opened the door. He kissed me one last time and then we walked out into the hallway and straight into Frank who was leaning against the far wall with his arms crossed.

“About time you too came out of the closet. You were in there for a half hour,” he said, a small smile on his lips.

My face blanched before I felt it redden. “You were out there the whole time!”

“God, no!” he exclaimed with a look of horror on his face. “I saw Damon pull you into the closet and then I went to keep everyone busy while you two were...unavailable. Your mother got away from me before I could stop her.”

I nodded, but I felt horrified that he had known what we were doing. Damon didn’t seem bothered by it at all. “Thanks, Dad, and sorry to put you in that position.”

Frank sighed and glanced towards the patio. “Don’t worry about it. I remember what it was like to be young and in love. I am still in love with your mom, Mia, but definitely too old for the closet.” He turned back towards us and said, “You two better go and clean up and then I will make the margaritas. Only reason why I waited for you was so I could warn you that your mother was looking for you and she isn’t happy.”

I nodded and murmured, “Thanks, Frank,” as he turned away, shaking his head. Damon and I watched him head towards the kitchen as we turned towards our bedroom.

“Will it ever get better,” I asked him as we walked down the hall hand in hand.

Damon’s eyes were filled with turmoil and he hesitated before he said, “I wish I could say yes, but honestly, I don’t know if it will. Your mom is bent on us not being together, and I don’t see that happening.” He sighed and ran his free hand through his hair.

“I love you, Mia, and I wish I could fix everything, but the only way I can see your mom being happy is by us not being together...I am just too selfish to let you go.”

I stopped him and turned him towards me. Wrapping my arms around his neck, I stood on tiptoe and kissed him tenderly. “I would never want you to let me go. I love you, Damon, and I would be miserable without you.”

“Good,” he smiled before he placed another kiss to my lips. “Because I could never let you go, either.” I sighed and pulled away, leading him to the bedroom. “Besides,” he added, “maybe she will change her mind when we give her grandbabies.”

Shock pulled me to a halt and I stared at him, dumbfounded. His eyes twinkled when he looked back at me and a small grin spread across his lips, “What’s wrong? You don’t want my babies?”

“It’s not that,” I said, shock still filling me. “I didn’t think you were even there yet.”

  “Are you?” he asked.

I blushed before I admitted, “Yes, but I am a girl.”

He smiled at me and then leaned in for a kiss. “And I’m a boy in love.” His kiss was sweet and tender and it turned me on more than any other kiss he had ever given me because it spoke of all the promises he was making me for our future. “Come on,” he said when we finally came up for air, “we better get back to the dinner party.”

  Chapter Four

The dress was perfect and I knew that it was the one...the one that I would get married in. I twirled in the mirror and smiled as the layers of fabric swirled around me. The bodice was tight, but the white dress billowed on the bottom and looked very similar to a lily blossom. It was divine, and I couldn’t wait to see Damon’s face when I walked down the aisle.

He was the easy critique. My difficult one wa
s sitting outside in the family waiting room as I tried on dresses. She’d said that she wanted to be here, after all, she’d said, “How often does my baby girl get married,” but I wasn’t sure if she really did.

Every dress I had come out in, she’d complained about. Her remarks were biting and by the time the attendant had brought me this wedding dress, she had given me a quick hug, “Don’t mind her. I have seen mothers who are even worse.”

I had burst into tears when she’d said it and the woman had been kind enough to comfort me before I was able to pull myself together and try on other dresses. I felt so defeated. This was supposed to be a happy time for me and I was miserable. I wished that Mackenzie, my best friend since elementary school, was here instead of my mother.

Fresh tears burned in my eyes and I blinked them back, squaring my shoulders in resolve. She was not going to leave me feeling horrible...not today...not anymore. Grabbing a tissue, I wiped away the last of my tears and took a deep breath as I twirled in the mirror again. This was definitely the dress and I was resolved to only shed tears of happiness in it.

The attendant, Tessa, knocked on the door before entering again. “You look radiant,” she smiled and I couldn’t help the smile that spread across my face.

“Thank you. Now to see how my mother likes it,” I said.

Stepping through the open door, Tessa gathered up the train and followed me down to the room where my mother was waiting as she drank champagne and complained about my marriage. I could hear her complaining even as I walked down the hallway. “So here I am, trying to be supportive, but I really don’t approve of this marriage,” her voice echoed down the hallway. I grimaced and hesitated at the threshold of the room.

“Remember, this is your moment so don’t let your mother ruin it,” Tessa said and I knew that she was right. If Damon was here, he would be saying the same thing. Of course, if Damon was here, I’m sure that he would have crawled under the dress to bring a smile—and a few other things—to my lips.
