The rest of the race involves us going back and forth, first me taking over the lead, then he is able to capitalize on a huge mistake I made in the last set of whoops.
I take second, with the knowledge of what I’ll need to do to get to first. There’s a couple riders that won’t be easy to beat, unless I get out in front of them first, so my starts have got to be better than today’s.
“You did well, Son.”
“I’d say, I’m happy with my finish but that’d be a lie. But I will say I’m glad it’s over, I needed to get this first race behind me.”
I see Cooper and Ansley heading over, as he walks up his hand is extended and I shake it with ease.
“Well, you gave a little ass whipping tonight.”
“I tried like hell,” I laugh at him and everyone else joins in.
“You looked good out there. How do you feel?”
“I feel pretty good, it wasn’t how I wanted to finish it out, but I’ll take it. I fucked up in the last set of whoops.”
“I saw that. They almost got me tonight as well. They were a bitch.”
We stand around talking for a few minutes, as my mechanic starts taking apart my bike, and the truck driver starts picking up and loading everything else that is under the tent into the back of the trailer. My dad starts helping the driver, like he always does, while my mom is lending a hand to the team manager, putting away the team posters and markers.
Cooper and Ansley start to walk away, as Kenna comes strolling over…smiling, I might add. I can tell by the look in her eyes; she’s thinking she won’t be sleeping in my room tonight, but little does she know she will be.
“Nice job.”
“Could have been better.”
“For your first race back, I’d say you did great.”
“Thanks, Princess.” She rolls her eyes at me with her lips turned up.
She waits, while I head up in the trailer for a quick shower, and then we all head out back to the hotel. Kenna rides with me as the others pile in different trucks. During the drive, we talk about the weeks ahead and what races she is scheduled to be at, and when she is scheduled to work for Honda at other events. She doesn’t offer up a lot of information about that so I don’t pry; I figure she will when she’s ready.
As I park the truck in the back parking lot, she starts to grab the door handle but I stop her.
“Come here.”
“What?” She looks over at me through her eyelashes.
“Let’s stay here for a minute before we go in.”
She starts to slide over to me and I can’t help myself. I lift her up and place her on my lap, in one swift move. She is straddling me with her Hyped Energy outfit still on. Her thigh high boots are sexy as hell, making her legs look even better than they already do, and might I add; her cleavage is incredible. I know personally that her ass looks phenomenal under the short skirt she’s been walking around in all day.
My hands hold her ass tightly, right where she can feel the hardness she is creating. She reaches up, running her hands through my shower-wet hair. Her eyes keep fluttering as I move her back and forth, causing friction between us. She leans in and I feel the smoothness of her tongue slide across my lower lip, which in turn makes me take her lips with a sense of urgency.
I drift my fingers across her waist, up her sides until they land on the front of her shirt, to where it’s tied up tightly together. After untying it, my thumbs make one sweep across the black lace bra that barely covers her breasts, and I immediately feel them pebble up. My mouth replaces my fingers and the hum that comes from her mouth makes me harder than before.
“Tell me to stop and I will, Princess,” I say pulling back, looking at her. I place a soft but meaningful kiss to her lips.
“I should say it since we’re in your truck, but I don’t think I can,” she says with a shallow breath as our mouths are just inches apart.
That is all it takes for me to decide that we aren’t going to make it to the hotel room. I want her here and now. One hand laces in her hair, pulling it to one side as my tongue finds a sweet spot to taste, while my other hand inches its way under her skirt, pulling her boy shorts to one side. I feel the way her body responds to my touch and it makes me come undone.
I pull my shorts down enough to spring myself free, which has been straining for what seems like an eternity. Replacing my hand with every inch of myself, I fill her completely. Gripping her waist tightly, she starts to move slow and steady. Her hands grip the back of my hair, her breathing heavy against the side of my neck, as her chest heaves up and down against mine. She picks up speed, all on her own, which turns me on even more, which I didn’t realize was even possible.
“Holy shit, Princess,” I growl out, as I am ready to explode.
She moans a little, and I can tell she’s on the edge of reaching her peak, right along with me. Two more hard, powerful thrusts and we both meet together at the top of ecstasy. Falling completely against me, her head drops to my shoulder and mine to hers. My arms circle her, holding her tightly as we both come down from a high that neither one of us will soon forget.
Kenna
Another month passed by and Ryan won two out of the three races. I was only able to attend two of them, since I was racing too. I have a meeting with Honda this week; they said that they have something they want to run by me. I’m a bit nervous thinking what it could be about. I guess I’ll soon see; the meeting is Thursday, so I have just two days to find out what it’s all about.
Things have been going incredibly well with Ryan. We are spending more and more time together. Whenever he’s not practicing or when I’m free, we’re together. I find myself missing him when we go more than a day or two without seeing each other. I know how stupid that is, it’s not like we are love struck teenagers, but that’s kind of how I’m feeling.
“Maddie, I’m going to head out for a run. Wanna join me?” I ask from my bedroom as she walks down the hallway.
“Thanks, but no thanks, girl.”
“K, I’ll be back.”
“Later.”
I ran and walked around for almost two hours and it felt good. I wanted to clear my mind from the stress of worrying about telling Ryan about my racing. I keep thinking ‘oh just tell him already’ then I think ‘not yet.’ I’m hoping I’m making a bigger deal of it than it really is.
The next couple of days fly by, and I’m now sitting at a restaurant with the team manager from the female Honda racing team. I’ve been sitting here waiting and wondering, while she talks to me about how racing has been going and how impressed they’ve been with the way I’ve been able to do Hyped Energy, all while still kicking ass on the track.
“We have a proposal for you to consider, Kenna.” My manager looks straight at me with no bullshit in her voice.
“Okay.” It is all I can think of to say, and a pit starts to form in my stomach.
“You know they have started to let females race the Supercross circuit, right?”
“Yes.” I now know where this is going, and all I can think is ‘OH NO!’
“We, at Honda, think now is your time. Try it and see what happens. We think you could be the one girl that makes it to the main. No one has done it before. There have been girls before you that tried, but none have been successful.”
“Do you need an answer right now?” I need to know, considering this means my secret is not going to be a secret for very much longer.
“You have two weeks to prepare and be ready to go, so that means you’d be racing at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on February twentieth. We need your answer by next Monday, so we can get things in order for you to go.”
“Ok, I will let you know. Thank you so much for the opportunity and for believing in me.”
“Can I ask, what is there to consider? I thought you’d be jumping at the chance.”
“I want to, I really do, but this could flip my personal life upside down. I’m not s
ure if I am ready for everything to change.”
“Well, if it helps, I think you could rock those boys’ world, they will never see it coming…a Hyped Energy girl that kicks ass on the track.” She laughs a little and then stands up, gives me a hug, and walks off.
I’m left sitting here in awe. I’m not sure what to do. I think it’s time I pull the girls together and explain everything to them first. Maybe they’ll give me some insight on what to do. We all have to work at the race this weekend, so maybe I’ll make a spa day for us and tell them then.
We are waiting at the airport to fly out, and I’m squirming in my seat, because it’s getting closer to the day I spill my guts to the ladies I now call my best friends.
“Ladies, I have a surprise for you.”
“You moved us to first class?”
“No, Maddie. Keep dreamin,’ girl,” I laugh at her.
“Can’t blame a girl for tryin’.”
“What’s going on, Ken?” Ansley asks, with concern in her voice.
“I booked us a spa day tomorrow. I thought maybe since we are getting in tonight, and we don’t have to be anywhere tomorrow during the day, we’d head to the hotel spa and relax. My treat.”
“Are you fucking kidding me?”
“Geez, Mads, there are kids around,” Ansley scolds her but smiles, too.
“Oh well, it’s nothing they haven’t heard from their parents, I’m sure.”
“Okay, ladies, we have to be there at nine tomorrow, so there is no partying all night tonight, got it?”
“I’m staying with Coop tonight, so I’m good. He won’t go out if I don’t, and since he’s got different press interviews tomorrow, he won’t be going out.”
“Wow, he really is pussy whipped, huh?”
“Who the hell said that?”
“Justin did.”
“He’s an idiot, Mads. Watch yourself with him. He’s not liked by too many.”
“Oh, Ans, he’s fun. You guys just don’t know him like I do.”
“Whatever. Let’s have a good day tomorrow. No guys, just us.” I am trying to change the subject because; well…I need them in good moods tomorrow when I tell them my secrets.
Morning comes and my stomach starts to do flip flops. Sleeping last night didn’t go so well; I tossed and turned all night. I’m not sure I can tell them without getting sick. My mind starts running at a hundred miles an hour, and my heart starts to ache.
We arrive at the spa just before nine, and I’m ready to spill my guts…literally. After checking in at the front desk, we’re brought to our own room to change into our white plush robes. All three of us walk out and take our place in the comfy reclining chairs…let the facials begin. Sitting back with cucumbers on our eyes, I decide now is not the time to tell them. I need to be able to look directly at them. Plus, we’ve just started to relax, I don’t need everyone tense a half-hour into our time here.
Just after our hour-long massages, we are brought to a private sauna room. After all of us slip on our bikinis, we each take a bench to stretch out on. I’m just about ready to start this conversation when Maddie chimes in with how great Justin is. Ansley, once again, warns her about what Cooper has said about him, telling her that he’s a player, and when she’s not around, he flirts terribly with other girls. Though she says she’s not worried.
“Kenna, you’ve been quiet today, is everything okay?” Ansley has concern in her voice as she speaks to me.
“Kinda.”
“What do you mean kinda, girl?” Maddie looks over at me, smiling.
Ansley immediately sits up straighter, coming to her protective position. “Ken, you know you can tell us anything.”
“I know.”
“Is everything okay with Ryan?” Ansley asks.
“Oh my God…you aren’t pregnant, are you?” The shock on Maddie’s face is priceless.
“Geez, Maddie, where to do you come up with these things?” I ask her, laughing.
“I’m just gifted.”
“You’re gifted, alright,” both Ansley and I say and laugh at the same time.
“Ok, then spill it, girl.” Maddie giggles.
“Well…”
“Well…” Maddie says right after me.
“Mads, shut up. This is clearly hard for her.” Ansley looks between both Maddie and myself as she talks. I know Maddie is just being Maddie, not rude, just anxious to know. She hates being left out of any secrets.
“I actually don’t know where to begin.”
There is a moment of silence before I start again.
“I need to tell you both something about me.”
“Ok, you can tell us, we can take it.”
“I know, Mads, you probably can.”
“Then, just tell us what it is. We’ll love you just the same. Nothing will tear us apart.”
“I hope you’re right. I lost people in my past because of it.”
I hesitate one more time. With one big inhale of a deep breath; I start a conversation that is sure to be one of the hardest I’ll ever have. Other than telling Ryan, this is going to be the toughest.
“I race,” I whisper, yet blurt it out because I don’t think I can do it any other way.
“You what?” they both say in a bit of shock.
“First, you both need to know I never wanted to keep anything from you. I love you both, and you mean everything to me.”
“Yes, we know,” they both answer simultaneously.
“Ok, well…you know how I stay behind at the races for a couple days and sometimes leave on weekends or am gone all day on a Sunday?”
“Yes, you work for Honda, too,” came out of Ansley’s mouth as Maddie just stares at me.
“Umm, yes, I do work for Honda. But I’m not exactly working; I’m riding. Well, riding and racing, actually.”
They sit there quietly, waiting for me to continue, so I do. I explain everything to them in detail, from when I started riding to what happened in high school, all the way to where I am now with it. Maddie reaches over and high-fives me a couple times when I say I won my races, and when I said screw you to all my friends when they betrayed me. Ansley smiles her apologetic smile when she knows I was hurting in my story, then smiles brightly when she feels I’m in a better place.
“So, why are you telling us now? It seems that you still have something you’re not telling us?” Ansley questions me.
“My manager came to me this week and asked me to race in a couple weeks. But it’s not just any race, it’s the Supercross race in Texas, which scares the shit out of me.”
“Oh, shit is right. Ryan will be there…wait he doesn’t know, does he?” Maddie questions me with some hesitation.
“No, he doesn’t, and yes, that’s the issue. I’m not sure what I should do. Help me.” I now have a tear that has escaped my eye before I can catch it; Maddie and Ansley are by my side.
“First, let’s get the hell out of here. I’m dying of heat.” We all giggle a little and walk out of the sauna room, sweating our asses off.
“I think I dropped ten pounds from all the sweating,” Ansley laughs.
“No kidding,” I say, as we all slip back on our robes and walk to the room next to us, which holds an oversized hot tub.
“Okay, from one hot thing to the next, but at least here I can breathe,” Maddie says, as each of us decide to sit on the edge for a while.
“Before you begin again, there are no more tears. The three of us will figure this out, and it’ll be fine. But you need to tell Ryan right away. I think you’re not giving him enough credit. He’ll be fine with it, as long as you tell him and not keep something this huge from him.” Ansley knows him better than any of us, so her input on all this matters a great deal to me.
“Yeah, you don’t want him finding out from someone else.” There is care in Maddie’s voice as she speaks.
“I agree with both of you. I just don’t know how to tell him. How do
I even start that conversation?”
“Maybe just say ‘Hey, Ryan, I’m going to kick your ass in two weeks in Texas.’ I think it’ll go over perfectly.”
“First, I won’t be racing in the 450 class and second, I’m thinking you’re flipping crazy, Maddie.”
“No, Maddie, that isn’t the way to tell him, but she is right, though. You need to come clean with all your secrets, if you think there is any future for the two of you.”
“I know you’re both right. I just can’t do it while he’s racing, so this weekend is off limits; maybe during this week.”
“So…you’re going to race?” Ansley questions me.
“I think I am,” I say, looking down at my fingers that are laced together.
“K, so let’s enjoy the rest of today, go to dinner like we planned with the guys tonight. Then enjoy tomorrow at the track and we’ll figure it out this week, deal?”
“I agree with Ansley.”
“Thanks, girls, I honestly don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have you two.”
“Clearly fall apart,” Maddie laughs.
“Yes, clearly.”
“Damn it though, I still can’t believe you race, like really race. Damn.”
“Trust me, Maddie, sometimes I can’t believe it either. But I love it. It’s an adrenaline rush; as soon as the bike starts up under me, I get a high like no other.”
“As much as I believe you, there’s only one thing I want vibrating under me, and it’s not a bike,” she says with a wink.
“Oh Lord, Mads, you’re crazy!” Ansley yells over to her, giggling.
“Well, honey, I only speak the truth.”
The rest of the day I spend talking to the girls about my life, and how I teamed up with Honda. They’re so supportive and can’t wait to see me race. Maddie starts putting two and two together with all my bumps and bruises. Then they want to know why I don’t have to practice like the guys do, but I explain that I do, they just don’t realize it. Telling them how when I leave for a couple hours to do errands, I am usually getting a ride in, or when I stay behind after a race, then I bust my ass for a solid day of riding. Since the female racing circuit isn’t as big as the guys’, I have more downtime than they would have.
