The morning finally came. We were over at our good friends’ house across the street. Toby was running full tilt with his best dog friend. Across the lawn they frolicked. And then while my back was turned, it happened. Toby hit the post straight on and went down, unable to get up. My friends screamed and rushed to him. Turning around I sprinted fast over to where Toby lay. Hovering over his body in panic, Toby just looked up at me. Kneeling down I placed my hand on his body. A complete calm settled over me. Someone/something outside of myself reassured me that Toby would be okay. Fear left... And so, I did not need to run home to get my car; I walked. The vision resurrected when Rob lifted Toby up into his arms. Striding across their field, Rob brought Toby over and placed him in my car. The vision came and went with my acknowledgment, and none of this type had appeared since.

Footnote: Straightaway I did take Toby to the vet for x-rays. By the time I got there Toby was up and limping about, although disoriented. The vet had said Toby was one lucky dog. The impact to his shoulder was such that he would heal. However, the vet showed me other close places where, if the impact had occurred, it would have ended Toby’s life.

The next vision was of a young rider, wide saucer eyes, open fly-catching mouth, barreling straight on towards me out of control. Every detail was there. Her dark cowgirl hat flailing out behind her. The dark horse. Both manes sailing behind. The off-kilter rider sliding down the horse’s side looking as if she were bulldogging, but not. A poof followed in the dirt. This vision came rapid-firing over a few weeks. One day early thereafter, I had touched Carly on the knee when she was in my arena riding her dark horse. That touch told me this vision was going to be her show.

Again, try as I might, I was only allowed to see this narrow slice of time. Yes, it was to be a fall from a horse. It was to happen close by, which it did—it was out in my back pasture. The vision was mine, because my emotions had a vested interest. I had been helping this youngster with her riding when I got derailed. As youth knows no limits, this gal took her unknown pony out to my track. Of course the pony went for a lope. Carly went for a scream. Her pony went into a gallop. And the vision prevailed. Again.

Now here is something delivered in a sleep state. I don’t typically dream, but I have had visions inside my sleep. This time was different. It was a sound delivered in my sleep state. There had been three experiences of this sort. Simply put, three loud, distinct knocks came at my front door. Always, I was dead away in sleep each time. When these knocks came they woke me completely to where I got up and went to check the door. Why? Because they were loud and I sensed an urgency behind them. I kept thinking it had to do with one of my neighbors. It was all in my head because Toby didn’t even lift his head or let out a bark. What were these knocks? It drove me crazy. I would only know when it came to pass.

So what do you think? Why do I get to look at a time, place, and event before it happens and only a split second of it? Is this some weird universal joke? Or an expansion of my ever-increasing awareness? And why are these visions now compressing themselves—getting shorter in between before happening? What is the point of these pivotal points being shown to me? I mean, what good are they if I can’t do anything about them? Yup, for as much as I see, there is much I don’t know. And, because I like to know how this all plays out in the grand scheme of things, it drives me crazy. Someone please give me a lobotomy!

Ideas? Thanks. Just thought I’d share. Hope you don’t mind.

  Rich’s Response:

Visions… I’m at a loss for words. TV reruns in fast forward? If it’s already happened in the cosmos then we all have the abilities to write or rewrite our own TV show? Got me stumped. Let me think on this some and will enlighten you next phone call.

After a bit, Rich wrote back:

I am not ignoring... I have some work-related things that are taking precedence over virtually everything for a few days...

  Rich-ski

  Then I Wrote:

  It’s fine. Stay cool. ox

  Then Rich:

Thank you so much for slacking me. It is near evening and… the crowning glory into my day was when I opened a scent sniffer that comes in the Sunday paper ads. At first I laughed at the name, Viva La Juicy, and then I opened it, sniffed it and dammit... I gotta get some of it. Anyone that wears this stuff can get laid just standing in a parking lot looking stupid. Serious.

  And so it goes...

  Mother Ship, Out.

  Then I wrote:

You freaking missed your calling as a comedy writer. Make that a semi-porn-laugh-till-you-drop evangelist. Whatever. That was funny sh*t. I’m sure the neighbors heard me laughing. Surprised they didn’t check up on me.

So send me some of that potion. No, on second thought, better not.

Okay, I got a hit on your little endeavor we talked about and you’ve been working on for awhile. Thumbs up. Just be yourself. It is the tip of the iceberg. And your long-running spree with your body as a karmic punching bag? That is pretty much over after you fill or cap your tooth. Whatever you do, think healthy thoughts for your external body as you do for your innards.

Yeah, here is my first summer in the tropics. Not too bad. I go do stuff in the morning outside. The afternoon I stay in and write or do whatever—like nap :-). It actually stays cool inside until 5 at which time I go outside again and ride the horses in the evening. Wind kicks up and it’s perfectly pleasant. As the sun sets, I ride, and well past when the moon comes up.

Okay, hang tight. Don’t forget to drink lots of fluids.

  Yo night rider.

  A Step Up

Another time to Rich I wrote:

  Damn it.

You make me BE a better person than I wanna be.

I mailed birthday cards to both my kids.

Then I mailed a birthday card to my ex.

See what happens when you meet a good soul? You want to aspire to their likeness. Never in my right mind did I believe another human could steer my heart right. Rich did.

My kids had disowned me since the divorce. If I had a reason for it, I’d tell you here. However, the complete story can be found in 30 Years to 30 Days: Seeds to Estrangement, published via many ebook stores.

And so my angst about whether to continue the communication effort or not accumulated in the previous note.

And you know what? I feel good about myself even to the point of imagining my ex’s surprise and acceptance of the greeting I sent. Now, in the thereafter of our divorce and all the spousal abuse I endured, this note-sending was a monumental step for me.

  Lesson Ascension

Rich, today I am going to give you the skinny inside on ascension. Not sure what you’ve heard, but you don’t want to believe everything you hear—even from me.

The word ascension means to rise above; progress higher; be enlightened; grow from knowledge. You get the angle. It is to become better. As humans, it is natural that we evolve to someone better than before. Although for some that I have witnessed, I doubt this to be true. Sometimes, I believe there are some who are on a personal mission to be the first one to hell. We all know folks like this. That is their journey and that is okay too.

For the majority of us, we have the natural propensity to WANT to grow and become more godlike or goddesslike. Many religions teach that perfection is the key to heaven’s gate and our way into nirvana. This is the premise for practicing religious zealots, but of course not everyone believes in the religious routes.

The spiritualists definitely believe in ascension. However, some believe that to ascend takes many lifetimes here on earth to achieve. Lifetimes? Yes, meaning reincarnation. For many, the thought of coming back to earth many times over to get it right is disenchanting. Especially if their religion tells them otherwise.

Reincarnation makes some good sense. People who are enlightened, famous ones like Mother Teresa and Gandhi, for example surely did not earn their full set of wings just from this lifetime. There wasn’t enough linear time to do this in one human
s life span. Of course these privileged folks could have done time in another solar system too. By the way, I am not implying only famous enlightened people ascend; I have met a number of humble folks, near sainthood in my opinion, who were evolved enough to graduate on from this dimension.

There has been much speculation, condemnation, documentation, and other fables around past lives. You either intrinsically believe—or you don’t. Or you come to some belief about it. Personally, I have swung all ways and have settled on the fact that the notion of past lives makes logical sense. Plus, as my own intuition advanced, I saw and felt lifetimes—especially my deaths—attached to me—my soul. Really, I tried to ignore it all. A glimpse in horror of a guillotine racing towards my neck. A trapped saltwater drowning as loved ones’ fingers slipped away. A violent strangulation by my jealous lover. Getting my hide ripped off me. Yeah, I’ve had some beastly deaths. This time around, I will just float away.

One of my friends believes that each of us has sixteen incarnations here on earth. Eight as a man. Eight as a woman. Even though you may change genders each lifetime, your basic energy remains that of a male or female. Thus our same-sex couples have both male and female halves regardless of the physical representation. I am not sure of any rules around ascension, but I do believe there are certain universal laws that govern the balance of creation.

Humans have a plethora of emotions to overcome. Many—too many—lessons to learn. Earth time is limited, so people have to come back to this training ground to get their lessons. Perhaps in one lifetime you were an ax murderer. Bad deed indeed. So next time you get to come back as someone who gets the ax. Sometimes balance is ugly. Some call it karma.

How fast you sail through your earthly lessons is up to you. Is a soul’s fate decided before re-incarnating each time? Perhaps. Every soul is a co-creator of their sojourns here on earth. We may enlist help from our spirit guides, even with other souls we will incarnate with. Some say there is an agreement between soul groups for what they will accomplish on earth together—meaning the lessons they will impart to each other.

The single largest governing force in the universe is a person’s own free will. Your conscious actions can elevate your ascension plan on the fast track. Notice I say CONSCIOUS actions. Make no mistake that climbing the ascension ladder is all about consciousness. There are no excuses. None of this “I’m a victim of learned behavior.” Or “My parents beat me therefore I am no good.” We were given a brain, and for good reason: to rise above the poverty of primitive mental excuses.

So what am I saying here, in short form? You come to earth as a virgin, and not just in the biblical sense. Each sojourn you learn new plus more lessons to stick in your aural résumé. You are always on the flight plan of ascension. When you’ve earned your wings, you may go. Where do you go? Some say home: the heavens above.

I have a theory on heaven. I hate to disappoint folks who say that once we reach heaven we get to sit back and rest. I don’t believe it works like that. See, once you have accrued all this precious knowledge, it is for the sharing. We are all a part of a giant grid. Intertwined. Integrated. Part of the whole. The entire universe and everything in it is a living, growing organism. We can add to or subtract from the universe, but in the end we all contribute to its advancement—or demise. Therefore, as a person ascends, they have a greater responsibility to contribute back to the whole. Want to go sit in heaven and rest? Yup, take a well-deserved break. Then you—I—we all got work to do.

  Animal Ascension

Animals are an integral part of the ascension plan as well. All animals. Every one. How can this be? The universe ascends together, right? Yes, we ascend individually, each at our own rate. Yet we are all a part of the same grid, which includes all critters.

Animals, too, have evolved each in their own species. I do believe it is by no chance that our animals pick us to be their caregivers. There are thousands of animals in humane societies waiting for adoption. The last time I visited a shelter I was drawn to adopt one Toby dog. Many, any, of the other dogs would have been suitable. Yet I was drawn to this ball of fuzz buzzing with wound-up energy.

Our animals pick us on two levels. Our energy resonates with theirs—which means animals are on an ascension plan too. And, we have walked with our animals in other lifetimes. Sound a tad far-stretched? Maybe. Maybe not. Who is to prove this and who isn’t? I just know from what I’ve observed in this lifetime, and seen in others. My animals have long been a part of my path many sojourns over.

We all know animals have a sixth sense and more. They know. Perhaps too much. They have much more basic common sense than humans, for the most part. Most likely creation did not allow them to talk with words because they know too much and are intrinsically much smarter! Ha! Actually, animals do talk, through their vibrations. Now, this is interesting because vibrations are a very evolved form of communication. If you can tap into their vibrations with your energy, you have a direct line to communicate with animals and get feedback. That is what the new-old rage is all about with horse-training techniques. By way of using the energy of one’s body language, you can tap into the purest of energy forms from that of our equines. The Buck Brannamans of the world have done wonders to advance equine mastership. One of my sensitive friends talked to her animals by sending mental pictures to them. It actually works! Who knows—maybe our four-legged friends are disguised aliens ... all laughing at our ineptness.

Animals are important. This is an understatement. The human race cannot ascend without helping the animals ascend. As stated, we are all a part of the same grid. The state of animal affairs is equal to the human condition. Our treatment of animals is a reflection of ourselves.

Animals evolve incrementally, as do we. Just as humans are rediscovering the virtues of natural foods, animals are up to the same. For years I’ve introduced veggies and fruits to my horses. A diet rich with different natural foods is well balanced. From melon fruit rind to veggie peelings, to stale breads—the horses get daily helpings and devour it all.

Up until recently, horses would not touch onions or orange peel. Guess what? Now they crave them! This change occurred around this last influx of energy to our earth. On mentioning this observation to a friend, she noted this exact occurrence at a few stables at which she caretakes. This seems to be a good argument for the grand plan to have animals evolve along with us.

Animals know best. If they were adverse to certain foods, they would not eat it. Just as oranges and onions were not agreeable, the horses did not touch it until a time came that it was more compatible to their systems. My dogs have always been fed table scraps. Again, if it was not digestible, they would not eat it. Of course canines are scroungers by nature, and left on their own would dine from garbage dumps.

Over the years, I’ve gotten flack from dog-owner friends who insist that table scraps are bad. Geez. I tell them to look at the ingredients of their dog-food sacks—most of the time, the ingredients ain’t even in the English language. If you can’t read it, then your dog shouldn’t be eating it! And the same goes for human foods too. Table scraps have enabled all my dogs to live to ripe old ages.

Foods, although a slight digression from animal ascension, reflect our ever-evolving body chemistry. As we merge into oneness, it is not only that our minds will mesh, but our bodies—both human and mammal—must be capable of such a campaign.

  Love & Loss

I don’t know when it is that you start loving someone. Maybe you always did love the person you were destined to meet. This love blooms when it finally bumps into you at the right time.

Each time I talked with Rich I got disturbed. Here was a guy who understood my brain and its workings. He could extract with the exact words of how my clairvoyance affected my way of being. No, of course Rich was not clairvoyant. Yet he knew what it was like with certainty from the window I had opened to him.

Rich was the first tangible male friend who totally welcomed this side of me. I was sure more male friends
of this nature would follow, but Rich was my first. He always edged to know more, but never made my clairvoyance the pinnacle of our conversation. He didn’t mind that I interjected my knowing and my visions inside my stories. He did give me an interesting thought though. What if I woke up one morning and my visions—all of my clairvoyance—were gone. How would I feel? I, in fact we, agreed, I’d feel very sad. For as long as I have been on this earth I have been privileged to be part of another universe most can’t see, hear, or feel. Yes, sad would only begin to cover this loss.

This same night we talked of loss, primarily loved ones lost through death. Rich told me of his best friend’s death and how he had stood by him in every step of his cancer. Except, he was not there the moment his friend died. Rich claimed he had to work. My brain was sincerely trying not to judge him just then, BUT…
