Randall pulled Adrian to him, and kissed his forehead softly, "You worry about the paddling, and I'll do the grocery shopping in the morning, and you can bet I'll be at the finish line."

"Can you take me home?" Adrian looked at Randall, thoughts of lust as well as tenderness crossing his mind. "My truck is at Bud's again. That poor dead prick in there spray painted 'Dr. Cocksucker' down the side."

Adrian and Randall couldn't help but laugh and cry, all at the same time. Before they left, Adrian pulled Clayton aside, "Damn it Clayton, call Karen. I don't care that it's late. You tell her I said for you to do it. Call her and tell her everything, I want tomorrow to be a wonderful day."

Clayton said nothing, but he squeezed Adrian's arm, and then he turned to Randall. The two men had a meeting of the eyes, and the healing between them began.

The drive home seemed to take forever, Adrian thought, and then he realized that it was his eagerness to feel Randall's arms around him. His hand kept creeping over to caress Randall's leg, and Randall playfully swatted him back.

"Geez Adrian, you're going to make me have a wreck," but he smiled as he said it.

Adrian practically ran to unlock the door when they pulled up, and there was a trail of clothes between the door and the bedroom. They stood, Randall holding Adrian's head, as he kissed him softly over and over. Adrian felt lightheaded after all the tension and adrenaline and now a different kind of excitement was rapidly overtaking his body. He pushed his cock against Randall's leg to let him know that he was ready, and Randall kneeled down, gentle taking Adrian into his mouth. As he wrapped his lips around the head, Adrian drew in a breath of profound relief and then gave himself over to the pleasure. But he was so aroused he knew more than a few moments of Randall's attention was going to end their lovemaking too quickly. Adrian pulled Randall back up to his feet and led him to the bed.

"Curl up around me, like you did that first night. I want to feel safe in your arms again, and feel your breath on my neck."

Randall did as he was bid, wrapping his muscular arms around Adrian, stroking his head with one hand.

Adrian sighed, then reached back for Randall's cock, his fingers wrapping around it gently. "I just need to stay like this for a few minutes, I need to realize that you're really here, and that some sad, sad person isn't trying to destroy our lives." He could feel Randall nod his head against him, nuzzling him as he did.

"Remember when we were talking about two-spirited people and you asked me about whether I ever had a vision?" Randall said.

"Yes, of course," Adrian's curiosity was piqued, but he tried to restrain himself a bit.

"Well, you should know that I'm not two-spirited, I'm just gay." Randall chuckled, and Adrian found himself laughing too. "And with your help, maybe I can let the rest of the world know too."

Adrian kissed Randall's hand. "We can take it at your speed, I promise I won't push." He rolled over to face Randall with half-closed eyes, "Now, let's get down to business."

Karen called at 8 o'clock sharp. She was giggling as she blurted out, "What the hell Dr. Cocksucker? Everyone knows an athlete isn't supposed to have sex before a big event."

Adrian could hear Clayton laughing in the background, "That's a myth! And Dr. Cocksucker is our fairy godmother. He's making wishes come true."

"And tell that handsome ranger that's in bed with you right now, that I miss him and we're all going to make everything all right. Sometimes fairy tales do have happy ends." Karen giggled again, "There's your wake-up pun and double entendre! See you at the river at noon-don't be late." She hung up the phone before Adrian could even say anything.

"Karen says to tell you that she misses you, and that everything is going to be okay. Sounds like she and Clayton were up to the same tricks as us last night."

Randall rolled over on his back, his hands under his head, and a big smile on his face.

The race went spectacularly, but Adrian and Karen were beat out by two, burley, bearded guys by a hair, and had to content themselves with second place. Their little trophy was the centerpiece of the cookout, and they graciously invited the winning pair to come to the party. As it turned out, they happened to be a gay couple too.

Adrian looked at the happy people around him, as Randall flipped burgers on the grill, and Karen and Clayton passed around beers. He sighed a happy sigh, and then went and gave his boyfriend a kiss.
