HINDERER
People were idiots and fools, thought the man that called himself The Hinderer. Soon all these people will be begging him to restore their technology, looking with disgust as someone bumped into him. He was on his way to The Bean Dive to see her and to plant the seeds of mistrust away from him and onto her.
She thought she was so smart, the person that everyone still talked about to this day, Artemis. Artemis was weak though. She used her tech prowess to help those that went whining and crying to her because they were stupid enough to get pregnant and then expect someone to help them take care of the crying brats. Just like her own mother.
Reaching his hand in his pocket, he fondled the little toy that he was able to create and wreak havoc with, but he wanted more. Unfortunately, the only person who would be able to help him was her. He needed her help to put execute his plan.
She will come begging to him, soon. He promised himself. Pressing the switch on the gadget in his pocket, he grinned to himself at the sickening crunch of cars running into each other. Playing with traffic lights was fun.
He watched as people got out of their cars, yelling and screaming at each other.
“What the hell?” He heard someone swear as he neared the coffee shop.
“The traffic lights went out again,” someone complained. “If I didn’t know better, I’d think Artemis was back.”
“Dark Master and Calypso need to take her into custody and stop this before more people get hurt,” complained another.
“There they are now,” yelled someone else, as the car known as Dark Prowler raised itself above the traffic and drove over the cars to where the accident occurred.
THE BEAN DIVE
Amy Wilson checked the time on the computer screen of her register, only five more minutes until she could go home and wash away the stink of the Bean Dive, the coffee shop where she worked. Only five more minutes and her day would have gone by without seeing them. Noah Adams and Vanessa London.
Noah Adams was the owner of the building next door, Adams Technology. One of the biggest computer makers and programmers in the country, if not the world. He and his assistant Vanessa London were the stuff that filled many of Amy’s erotic fantasies.
“Oh my god, look.” Whispered her manager Kerry in her ear. “It’s them.”
Maybe fate smiled on her and they had come in. Looking up though, it wasn’t Noah and Vanessa, but the other stars of her fantasies, Dark Master and Calypso. She always felt as if she were cheating somehow when she had fantasies of either Quail City’s crime fighting team or Noah and Vanessa.
She’d only seen them on television or when their car drove by, until now. Damn, if they didn’t look better than they did on television. There was something almost electric about them when their eyes settled on hers. Please don’t let me screw up the order, she thought.
As if in a trance she watched as they walked up to her counter. “Hi, Amy is it?” Dark Master asked, pointing at her name tag.
“Hi, yeah.” Great way to sound intelligent. But what sane woman, or man, could have an intelligent conversation when standing in front of them was male perfection in a black leather body suit that moved as he did. His famous utility belt that wrapped around his waist was in royal blue. Even though his head was covered by a cowl, it didn’t detract from the naughty, wicked promise in his eyes. His lips were the kind that Amy was sure knew how to find all the erogenous zones on her body. Maybe even ones that she didn’t know she had. “Would you like to order something?”
“Yeah, what do you recommend?” Calypso asked her. Her eyes were a sultry blue that made it hard for Amy to turn away.
“Do you have a favorite?” Dark Master asked her.
“Umm, not really.” Amy admitted. “I hate coffee and am not much of a tea drinker. I do like the raspberry lemonade though.”
“You work in a coffee shop but don’t like coffee?” teased Dark Master.
“Jobs are hard to find,” Amy replied. Was he flirting with her? No. Had to be her imagination, “The money isn’t bad and the tips are okay.”
“We’ll take the raspberry lemonade,” Calypso said. The costume that she wore made Amy’s panties melt. Deep royal blue, her one piece jumpsuit-like costume hugged her curves. The deep-plunging neckline gave Amy a glimpse of breasts that she only wished she could have. Her barely there breasts sometimes made wearing bras unnecessary. Like Dark Master, she had a utlity belt, rumor was the utility belt included a whip that could wrap around a person and get them to tell the truth.
Her eyes were an almond like color, her red hair brushing against her shoulders, had Amy wondering what it would feel like against her skin. It took everything in her to not lick her lips at the Dark Duo.
“Sure, what are your names again?” Amy asked.
“You have a sense of humor,” approved Dark Master. He leaned in closer, “Do you scream in bed?”
“What?” Amy was sure that her chin was on the floor.
“Make it a large,” Dark Master said, acting like he didn’t just say what she thought he did.
Amy grabbed a couple of drinks and went to the lemonade machine. She tried to take calming breaths. Oh god, they were flirting with her. Did they know who she is? Or was? Artemis is dead, she reminded herself. After filling their cups and putting a lid on them, she took it back to them.
“How much?” Calypso asked.
“It’s on the house,” Kerry said to them.
“No, we can afford to pay,” Calypso declined.
“No, we insist,” Kerry told them. “You two do a lot to help Quail City.”
Calypso reached into the front of the her jumpsuit she wore, and pulled out two twenties and a ten. “Here, sweet thing.” She handed it to Amy. “Keep the change.”
“I can’t,” Amy looked at Kerry. Even if they did accept them paying for their drink
s, that would mean a forty-five-dollar tip.
“Yes, you can,” insisted Dark Master. He took the money, placing it in Amy’s cleavage, touching her skin. Smiling at her when he felt her shiver. “Good, you want us, too.”
“We do have a couple of questions to ask,” Calypso said.
Amy tried to clear her head. They wanted her? They as in the both of them? No way. “What are the questions?”
“Have you noticed anyone unusual walking around?” Dark Master asked. “The traffic lights were turned off just now.”
“I’d heard that from a few customers,” Amy answered, hoping the buses weren’t running late. “There’s been a lot of weird things happening lately. I’m sure the two of you will find out whoever, or if there is someone, behind it.”
“People have been mentioning Artemis,” Calypso said. “You wouldn’t have heard anything?”
They knew, Amy thought. Somehow they knew. “No, Artemis isn’t here anymore. At least from what I heard.”
“Damn shame, too,” complained one of the customers in the shop. “Not the Artemis that is playing with the lights and stuff. But the Artemis who liked to help people with their problems.”
“Yeah, I think if someone is behind it, it’s someone pretending to be Artemis, or trying to shift the blame on her,” said another customer. “She may have done some things, but she’d never deliberately set out to get people hurt.”
Amy smiled at the person that made the comment. “I’ve been here all day. But it’s more than the traffic lights. Didn’t I hear that the other day the Financial District was shut down because the money showed at zero?”
“That is something that Artemis had fun with,” Dark Master commented. “Or had in the past.”
“I’m sure that whatever has been happening in Quail City has nothing to do with Artemis,” Amy replied.
“Hope for Artemis’ sake it’s true,” Calypso said. “Williams is ranting and raving in Commissioner James’ office asking for her to be arrested.”
Just bet he is, thought Amy. “Is there anything else I can get you?” Amy asked them. She saw that it was almost six and the last bus going towards her apartment would be there any minute.
“You in our bed,” Calypso said in her ear. “Your blue hair will look glorious on our pillows.” Then out loud stated, “That’s all for now.”
Oh shit, her panties were about to become worthless. Her pussy started to fill with liquid at the thought of being with them in their bed. But Calypso had to be teasing No way would they want Artemis in their bed.
“I need to order,” said a whiny voice behind Dark Master.
“I need to go, John can take your order,” Amy said.
“Are you too good to wait on me now that you took Dark Master and Calypso’s order?” said Graham Williams.
“It’s not that.”
“Is there a problem, Amy?” Calypso asked.
“She is refusing to serve me,” Graham whined. “It’s bad enough this place allows people with hair like Amy’s to work here. What’s next piercings? Tattoos?”
“There is nothing wrong with the way Ms. Wilson looks,” Calypso smiled at her. “I’d have her in my bed anytime, anyday, any place.”
“I’ve got to go,” Amy told them, feeling a little uncomfortable the way everyone was looking at her. “I have to cash out my drawer and the bus will be here any minute.”
“We’ll drive you home,” offered Dark Master.
“I can’t let you do that,” Amy protested.
“We’ll be happy to,” Calypso assured her. “It’s our fault that you’re running late. Go ahead and take this citizen’s order, then we’ll drive you home.”
“Okay. Thanks,” Amy agreed. “What would you like to order?”
“I’ll have a Don’t be Chai,” Graham grinned at her. Graham Williams, the whiny, youngest son of banker Harlan Williams. He was an even bigger prick than his father, if that was possible. Sometimes she wondered if Graham was extra nasty to her because he knew who she was.
Handing him the order, she gave him the total, then waited while he seemed to try and get the money out. Ass that he was, Graham handed her a fifty. Great, now she’ll have to get her manager to make change. There was a big sign that said no bills over twenty dollars, but people like Graham felt that the rules shouldn’t apply to them. “One second,” Amy took the fifty and went over to her manager, who was getting fresh pastries out of the oven.
“What’s wrong? Can’t subtract?” Graham asked when she came back.
Amy wanted nothing more than to smack the smirk off of his face, but reminded herself she needed the job. “I don’t have a problem with subtraction, but it appears that you’ve got a problem reading,” Amy pointed at the sign near her register. “It says no bills over fifty.”
“Well if you people would have stayed in school, then it wouldn’t be so complicated,” Graham told her.
“It’s not that Mr. Williams,” Kerry said going to the safe. “It’s for the safety of our employees. There’ve been a string of robberies of late, targeting places like The Bean Dive. The Dark Duo can’t be everywhere at once. Although we do appreciate them being here today.”
“Our pleasure,” Calypso said to Kerry. “You run a fine establishment.”
“Thanks,” Kerry told her.
Graham replied. “If the cops weren’t so lazy and stupid, then there wouldn’t be any need for them.”
“I’m sure they’re busy with all that’s going on with the string of weird blackouts recently,” Amy said.
“If I didn’t know better, I’d think Artemis is back,” Graham responded. “Why were they asking you about her?”
“I’m sure she isn’t,” Amy said quickly. “They were asking everyone, not just me.” There was something almost creepy or evil in his eyes.
After looking at her strangely, Graham took his tea and left. Amy sighed in relief, taking off her apron and closing her drawer.
“Did Noah Adams come in today?” Asked Kerry. “I don’t remember seeing him or his assistant, Vanessa London.”
“No,” Amy replied. Her head was spinning. She was so confused. She felt as if she were cheating because she wanted both Noah and Vanessa and Dark Master and Calypso. It’d be so much easier if they were the same people. That was crazy. No way were they the same people.
“I can’t believe they are giving you a ride home,” Kerry told her. “You’ll have to call me after they drop you off. Let me know if they try to kiss you or something.”
“They’re not going to kiss me,” Amy’s lips tingled at the thought. She didn’t care which one of them kissed her, or even both. Just thinking of a three-way kiss had her hot.
“Earth to Amy,” Kerry called to her. Waving a hand in front of her face.
Amy shook her head and blinked. “Sorry, was thinking.”
“You were thinking about what it’d be like to be with them, weren’t you?” Kerry asked her. “Maybe they’ll replace Noah and Vanessa.”
“Why would they need to replace them?” Did Kerry know how she felt?
“Everyone here with eyes knows that you’re attracted to those two,” Kerry told her.
“Everyone knows that they’re together,” Amy replied. Rumors were that Vanessa was more than just his assistant. She was hot, sexy, and could make a eunuch hard.
“With all this weird stuff going on lately, they’re probably busy,” commented Amy.
“You missed them, didn’t you?” asked Kerry.
“No,” denied Amy. Yes, she thought silently.
“We’ve all noticed how they go to your line only,” Kerry told her. “How they both flirt with you. They don’t even come in here on the days you don’t work.”
“They’re just nice,” defended Amy.
“No, they want you,” Kerry teased.
“I just want to work with them,” Amy told her. Liar.
“Liar,” Kerry called her on her lie. “You want them, too. The air crackles with tension whe
n they’re here.”
“That’s just disgusting,” said one of the other employees. “Sex should be just a man and woman, only. Kerry what you’re suggesting is immoral.”
“If wanting them in my bed was immoral, then I don’t want to be moral,” Amy replied to him. He really was an ass.
“Well, I don’t think the corporate world would condone sex talk in the work place,” he said to them.
“I’m not going to tell,” Amy told him. “Besides, I’m off the clock. I need to get out of here before they change their mind about a ride. See you tomorrow.”
Walking from the back she saw Dark Master and Calypso waiting for her. Her juices threatened to trickle out. This was silly, she’d just met them. They hadn’t even touched her or anything. Yet.
“Ready?” Dark Master asked.
“Yeah.”
INSIDE THE DARK PROWLER
Holding the door open, “Sit with us in front, the back is for criminals,” said Calypso.
“Okay.” Seatbelts surrounded her as soon as she sat. “Wow, you guys take safety seriously.”
“Yes, we do,” Dark Master agreed. His fingers testing the straps, brushing against her breasts.
“Thanks,” Amy breathed in his scent combined with Calypso’s. He smelled of cinnamon and she smelled of vanilla. The combination wreaking even more havoc on her senses.
“What’s your address?” Dark Master asked.
“I live on Highland Drive,” she answered.
“Great, I know where it is,” Dark Master pushed a button on the dashboard. The powerful engine was revving up, vibrating against her rear.
“So I take it that working at The Bean Dive is not your dream job?” Calypso asked.
“Not even the slightest,” commented Amy. Her eyes were so blue it almost made Amy want to swim in them.
“What do you hope to do in the future?” Dark Master asked her.
“Why, are you going to hire me?” questioned Amy. She somehow knew that they were aware of who she was. Or once was. Artemis was dead.
“Maybe,” Dark Master answered. His eyes were the color of coffee just after cream was poured into it.
