It's Been Awhile

He lifted her off the floor in answer and then kicked his shorts from his feet. She giggled at his chivalrous move and wrapped her arms around his neck. A few quick steps down the hall, and he stepped into his bedroom. The black sheets lay rumpled on the mattress from nights of restless sleep, not that he really cared at the moment.

With deft fingers, he hastily undressed her until she lay as naked as he was. He stretched out beside her taking a moment to admire her body, committing her to his memory. A small scar lay in a crescent shape atop her right thigh. A freckle rested next to the small divot of her navel. The lone accessory she wore was a diamond-studded necklace in the shape of a circle with an M in the middle.

"I don't remember you wearing that back in Texas.” He fingered the pendent. “It's beautiful on you. You're beautiful."

"Less talk, Ben.” Her fingers twined around his wrist. “Please. You can shower me with compliments afterward."

He rolled over, pinning her with his body. “Tell me what you want, sweetheart."

"How about I show you?” Marah gripped his cock in her hand and guided it to her entrance. “Fuck me hard, Ben. Hard and fast. I want to feel every inch of you filling and stretching me. Make me scream when I come."

Ben did as she said. He took her hard and fast, plunging his cock deep inside her over and over. Her nails bit into his back as she arched to take him impossibly deeper. He leaned forward to suck one of her beaded nipples into his mouth, revelling in the feel of Marah surrounding him.

Her hands caressed his sweat-slicked skin. To his surprise whimpers and moans came from her parted lips as she held him to her body. He glided a palm up her thigh, finding her clit with his fingers.

He raised his head to meet her eyes. “Tell me you love me."

"I love you, Ben. I always have."

He pinched and rolled her clit and sent her over the edge into oblivion. His own climax built and with a few more thrusts, he poured himself inside her. He pressed his face into her neck, content in the aftermath.

"I interviewed with the doctor at L.A.'s clinic. I start my internship in three weeks.” She ran her fingers through his hair. “I actually picked this clinic as my second choice in case Dallas rejected me."

He pushed off her to roll to his side. “Are you happy?"

She bit her lip. “What do you think?"

Ben kissed her, cupping her chin in his hand. Marah was really here, alive and in the flesh. Not some repeat dream he'd had every day for the past ten years. She was here with him, and he wasn't about to let her go. Pulling away, he smiled before saying, “I hope so. It won't be easy being married to me."

  "Married?"

"Yep. White dress, church, tux, family, friends—the whole works.” He laced his fingers with hers. He saw it like a movie playing before him. Her family, his friends, the merging of their lives, the way it should have been all along. “You said I'm stuck with you. Might as well make it official."

Marah smiled though tears filled her eyes. “You're missing the carriage ride."

Ben groaned. “Oh, I suppose. The things I do for you."

She chuckled, rolling over so she straddled his hips. Leaning forward, she pressed her lips against his. “I love you, Ben. I haven't got a clue as to how this whole rock star-psychologist relationship is going to work, but it will. I've waited too long for this."

He had too. “I'll tell you how it works.” He lifted her hips to press his cock against her pussy. “We'll get married."

He pulled her down, impaling her on his shaft. Their breaths hitched in unison as their eyes met. “You'll get your doctorate and then open your own practise. We'll spend all our free time making love and vacationing around the world. Maybe have a kid or two. We'll spend lunchtime together, though we'd rather make love than eat.” He kissed her lips, whispering, “I know I'll be happy making you come every single moment I can get."

She rocked her hips, taking him deeper. “Are you happy, Ben? Really happy?"

He sat up wrapping his arms around her body. “More than you could ever know."

  Epilogue

After a large ceremony at Faith United Church, Ben and Marah said goodbye to their friends and boarded Darkfever's personal jet to greet five days and four nights of sun, surf and sex on Fiji's most popular island.

Sin, Taye and Midas sat with David at the reception, leaned back in their chairs checking out the women.

"I want the brunette,” Midas said, popping a butter mint in his mouth. “You guys can fight over the blonde."

Sin's gaze wondered around the room, stopping at a woman dressed in a baby blue, knee length dress. “Who's that chick?"

David smiled as if he knew a secret. “That, my friends, is your new personal representative. Go say hi."

Sin stood along with the others and followed David across the room to greet the lady in blue.

"Callie, I want you to meet the band.” David tapped her shoulder to grab her attention. “Boys, this is Callie Quinn, your new PR. Callie, these are three of the men who make up Darkfever."

Sin waited for her to turn around and when she did, she took his breath away. Blonde hair fell in soft strands against her shoulders and she had the prettiest blue eyes he'd ever seen. She gave him a hesitant smile and stuck out her hand in greeting.

  "It's nice to meet you."

He wrapped her hand in his, caressing the back with his thumb. “Trust me, the pleasure is all mine."

She smiled brightly at his remark. Sin lifted her hand to his lips pressing a gentle kiss against her knuckles. Her skin was soft and warm, smelling faintly of vanilla. She blushed at his motions, a tint of rose staining her cheeks. Oh, yeah. She's interested.

Sin watched her greet the others, but her eyes roamed back to him, a blush creeping across her face each time he caught her staring. I'm interested too, sweetheart, he told her with his eyes the one time she didn't look away.
