To Win Her Smile

“Okay, five tournaments.” Wyatt’s forehead creased with his self-deprecating grimace. “Plus, I had to convince a few of my friends to commit their time as well.”
She slid her gaze to Tuck. He grinned and shrugged. Turning, she met Broderick’s easy smile. In the row behind him, CC nodded her confirmation, then tossed her head toward the four remaining Gridiron Girls and their husbands.
Piper’s jaw wanted to drop. “You all committed to this?”
V held up a hand. “Wyatt told us how important this spot was to you and we wanted to help him get your cliffs back. Besides, the funds go to the families of fallen soldiers. It’s a good cause.”
Piper shifted her gaze to each of Wyatt’s friends and their wives. They all wore a warm smile that said V spoke for the group, but it was Gracie who had the last word, as usual.
She cocked her head, rested her hands on her pronounced baby bump, and met Piper’s shocked gaze. “As soon as you say I do, you’ll officially be one of us. The Gridiron Girls and their men stick together.”
Wyatt squeezed Piper’s fingers and she met his smile.
“What do you say, duchess? Are you gonna marry me?”
With her heart threatening to burst from her chest, she couldn’t look away from the love in his eyes. “Go ahead, Vicar, and speak quickly, will you? I can’t wait to say I do.”
