Twisted Up In Us (The Treyton Sisters Duet Book 2)
Page 12
Caden no longer goes by Slammer, and he’s not even part of the club anymore, at least not in the way he once was.
He told me I changed his life and he didn’t want to be doing shit that could send him away from me for any reason. My dad, surprisingly, was okay with it. He told me that he’d do anything for me, and if that meant letting Slammer out, then so be it.
My restaurant is doing amazing. With help from the club, we got things up and running before Jason was born. Caden and my dad took care of the hiring process, so I wouldn’t have to worry about a thing. The shitty part about it is that I’ve barely worked there myself. With popping out kids and being pregnant, I’ve barely spent any time at work. And I hate that.
That’s why after this baby, I’ve told Caden that if he wants more children we need to wait a few years, because I so badly want to do what I was meant to do with my restaurant. I want to create dishes, bake, get to know my staff and interact with my patrons. He reluctantly agreed, but not without a shit load of pouting.
I love him so much. I swear this huge scary man is the biggest softy in the world.
“This next one, you have to bare down push hard, don’t stop until I say,” the doctor says from between my legs.
After four more pushes, a screaming baby is finally out of me. “It’s a girl!”
“Fuck,” Caden mutters under his breath, causing me to glare at him. “What? Jason and I are completely outnumbered here. This sucks.”
“It’s your own damn fault, your sperm likes making girls.” Shaking my head at him, I say, “Maybe the next one will be a boy?”
He smiles so big I swear his face will split. “Sounds like a plan.”
“But not for a few years this time!” I demand of him.
“Whatever,” he grumbles as he watches our new daughter get cleaned up.
After we cuddle and pass around daughter I look at Caden. “What should we name her?”
Without looking at me, he leans in close and kisses her forehead. “Sadie Draya.” My heart stutters at the name and tears swim in my eyes.
“It’s perfect,” I whisper.
He stands up and goes to the door. “I’ll go bring in your dad, the kids, and your sister.”
I smile, thanking him.
Cori and I, I hate to say this, aren’t as close as we once were. And honestly, it’s only because of the distance. Instead of spending every day practically together, it’s only twice a year now, a week each time. The distance sucks, but we’re both finally grown enough to not need each other as we once did. I miss her all the time, of course, but I’m so happy in where I’m at right now, I wouldn’t change it for anything.
And seeing my sister overcome all she did, and become who she is now, I don’t think she would either.
When we get together, she even treats Hangman as her own father, and it’s probably because she knows what he did for us when it came to our mother. She’s grateful for it, even though she thought Mom's death was overkill on his part.
Caden
The kids all gather around Melissa and smile at their new baby sister. Fuck my heart feels full.
“Thank you for loving her,” Cori says, coming up behind me.
“Trust me, loving her is the easiest thing in the world.”
And it is. I wouldn’t change our twisted-up love story for anything.
The End
Bonus Epilogue
Hangman
“Hangman,” I bark into my phone.
“Paperwork has been looked over and signed, you got what you wanted, I got what I wanted. We’re done.”
Chaos, the president of the Jacks Devils, and I made a deal. He got rid of my problem and I would give him my bar in Nova Scotia. His club is dominant there, and he’s wanted us out for years. With the deal we made, we both got what we wanted.
I hang up the phone, toss it to my desk, and lean back in my chair. I did what I had to do, and I would do it all over again if I need to. There was no way in fuck I was gonna let Dray have my daughter. Making the deal with the Devils, wasn’t something I ever wanted to do. But this was one that I couldn’t not do. Not without Melissa knowing it was me. It was easier to have her think another club took him out. A club he was investigating, instead of knowing her own father was the one that did it.
Not even Slammer knows what I did. Fuck, the only other person that knows is Rage, and that’s how it’s gonna stay.
No matter what my kids might say, I’m not a good man. Never was. And I wouldn’t change who I am for anyone. I got rid of a problem, a problem that would have caused a shit storm in my family and my club. I stare at the photo on my desk, of a pregnant Melissa and Slammer smiling down at her, me holding up Mikayla beside them, on their wedding day. Yeah, I made the right fuckin’ call.

She hides her lifestyle from him, afraid he would think less of her.
Blake Lexington has crushed on Cori since the day she started working for him. He knows a bit about her past, living with the Angels Warriors, and he doesn’t care. He refuses to make a move, thinking it will scare off his shy assistant. For years, he’s thought she would never be attracted to someone like him.
Finally realizing that he needs to take action, her reaction surprises him. Cori believes he sees her as a slut and wants to use her. Secrets from the past will be revealed, causing everything to unravel.
Will real love bring them together, or is Cori too damaged to give true love a chance?
