Season of Sin

Page 8

by JL Caid

He’s busy at work. His head gently moving left to right, growls escaping the depths of his throat as he drinks me in.

I twist my hands and touch both Darick and Layre. I scratch at them.

  “Release me,” I whisper.

Surprisingly, they let me go. I quickly reach for their chests, feeling the definition of muscle (Layre’s bare chest, but Darick is still wearing a shirt for some reason). I scratch at them, wanting to hurt them. I look at Darick and his smoldering brown eyes scare me. I look at Layre and his eyes are burning. They’re red, like fire sizzling as his irises throb.

I can’t exactly comprehend what’s happening, but it feels too good to even try and worry.

My head falls forward as my legs tighten and I move to my toes.

Kyran suckles me harder, taking my folds into his mouth. His hands race down my body and around to my ass. He squeezes and pulls me tighter to him. With my hands, I grab for Darick and Layre’s necks, needing them closer to me. They move, their smells colliding in mid-air with a brown and red splash of sparks that vanish in seconds. My entire body begins to quiver as I reach the pinnacle. There’s no coming back from this now.

Darick touches my waist with one hand. Layre does the same on the other side.

I watch as Kyran pulls away from me. He looks up at me and licks his glossy lips like a lion enjoying a fresh meal. He brings his right hand around and slides it between my legs. With two fingers, he curls them, tugging at one of my folds. He opens his mouth to show his fangs and inches forward. I gasp as I watch him fulfill what he said he was going to do.

The tip of the fang presses and begins to pierce an area so tender and sensitive that I scream before I even feel the slightest ounce of pain.

An icy chill suddenly hits me, and I look up to see Seth an inch from me.

“Nothing to fear, angel,” he whispers. “The pain we cause is nothing compared to the pain you can cause to us. Now… give us your nectar.”

His lips crash to mine for a cold kiss.

Kyran presses his lips against my pussy again, throwing me over the edge.

I buck my hips as I start to come. His hands are tight to my ass, pulling me, not giving me a second to collect myself as the deep pulsing continues. Seth is kissing me so softly and gently, it’s almost like taking a handful of snow and seductively eating it.

I’m coming so hard, my knees bend. Darick and Layre are there to hold me up as a numbing feeling shoots down my legs. They are all holding me, controlling me, savoring my orgasm.

Kyran finally pulls away with another wet sound.

He releases his hold on me… and they all do at the same time.

I collapse to the floor, my body aching, raging, needing more.

I grit my teeth and watch Kyran quickly turn away from me and walk away.

I reach for him but Seth steps into view.

Hands touch my shoulders and I realize it’s Darick and Layre again. They’re holding me, but not with force.

  “Now, brother,” Layre says.

Seth falls to the floor and places his huge hands to my lower belly. There’s a chill that’s quickly replaced with heat as he comes forward. His piercing blue eyes never leave mine as he slips his tongue against my throbbing core and licks up and down a handful of times. He then shuts his eyes and presses his mouth hard against me, sucking so hard that I try to yell, but nothing comes out.

I begin to climax once again, my hips jumping all over the floor.

When Seth backs away, he touches his own face, his mouth open, his fangs glistening. He looks drunk or high or shocked.

Darick makes his move, jumping to the spot where Seth had just been. I move my free hand and grab at his messy, long hair.

“I like it rough, babe,” he growls.

I pull his hair as his mouth attacks my pussy. He’s so fucking strong and so fucking rough, sucking the leftover honey off my folds before his tongue thrusts forward to break me open for more.

I look over at Layre as I start to come for a record third time.

Layre inches forward and presses the tip of his nose to mine.

“Thank you, angel,” he whispers. “For saving us.”

Darick pulls away with an animalistic cry and rolls to his stomach and pushes himself to his hands and knees.

I’m still trying to collect anything that resembles a thought when Layre nestles between my legs. I sink my nails into his thick shoulders and crunch forward as he begins to have me. I tell myself there is no possible way I can explode for a fourth time.

  No fucking way in…

My jaw drops as the orgasm hits like a surprise wave. Layre jams his nose against my clit and rubs to the rhythm of my hips jerking up and down. I’ve lost all control of my body.

Layre backs away from me, his lip curled, nostrils flaring. I can see the resistance in his eyes.

“Come back,” I whisper to him. “Have me again."

He dives forward at me. His tongue manages one swipe against my slit when Seth is there, grabbing him by the back of the neck and throwing him out of the way.

“That’s enough for now,” Seth growls.

Layre jumps to his feet and dives at Seth. They smash together, their brilliant blue and red colored auras exploding into the air. They mix and create a purple blanket that begins to descend over my body as I lay there, unable to move. I’m clawing at the floor, my body shaking from the intense pleasure.

The two men-slash-vampires are battling each other over my body. Over the sweetness that had come from me thanks to their touch and their tongues. I don’t want them to fight. I don’t want anyone to fight. In fact, they can all have me. Just like they did now… or all together at the same time. I’m not sure how that works though, but I’m willing to learn.

The purple blanket touches me and I’m soothed. I’m calm. It’s so soft, like the velvet around me. The purple blanket of Seth and Layre’s auras… and I can smell them both. That icy mint with a hint of burning cinnamon. I lick my lips, wanting my turn to taste them. When my mouth opens again, the corner of the blanket curls and slips into my mouth. I try to scream but I can’t. The blanket flips up with thin wisps of color splashing around and smothers my face. My first instinct is to fight back, knowing if I suffocate… I will…

  What? Die? I’m already dead.

The blanket wraps itself tightly around me.

I hear horrible thundering sounds as Seth and Layre continue their fight for my body. I open my legs, hoping they see me - or smell me - and come to their senses. They can both have me, together. They can share licks against my softness. They can each use their fangs to nibble at my tender folds. I want to tell them this. I want to command them to stop fighting over me and just have me.

But the blanket is so comfortable. The tighter it gets, the better I feel. And my memory suddenly starts to play it all again. Darick and Layre holding my wrists. Seth staring at me with his blue eyes. Kyran on his knees in front of me, his mouth between my legs.

It’s all playing in my mind… but I can feel it.

It suddenly stops and I’m falling into the blackness again - screaming, and nobody can hear me.

  9.

“She’s not going to make it if we keep this up,” Seth’s voice says.

“She’s okay. This is part of the process, brother.” Layre’s voice is more confident than Seth’s.

“Just let her be,” Darick says. “It was her first time with us.”

“What’s the next going to be like?” Seth asks. “She’s more powerful than the four of us combined, but she doesn’t know how to harness the power yet. Anything she tries will be sexually charged.”

“And that’s a bad thing?” Darick asks with a chuckle.

“You all need to leave,” Kyran says. “This is my garden. This is my space. You all had no right coming here.”

“We did, brother,” Layre says. “The four of us needed to be together for the first time. So we all equally bond to keep us all alive.”

  “Leav
e now then,” Kyran says.

“You can’t be serious with this bullshit again,” Darick says. “Are you going to compare her to-”

“Silence,” Kyran’s voice booms all around.

I hear the rustling of leaves and the ground shakes. I feel a softness against my cheek and open my eyes. I’m in the grass. Really soft and really green grass. I lift my head and look around. I’m right where I started. I reach out and touch the tree.

“She’s awake,” Seth says. “Move, you fools.”

Seth falls before me, on his knees, touching my hair. It makes me shiver. But I’m happy to see him. I’m happy to see all of them. I’m amazed by their fangs, but I’m suddenly more amazed by their tongues. Imagining where their tongues had just been.

  “Wait,” I whisper. “I’m back here. Did I dream…”

“No, babe,” Darick says. “That wasn’t a dream. I can still taste you on my lips. I want more.”

“We all do, brother,” Layre says.

“We all do,” Seth whispers, his icy blue eyes penetrating my soul.

Well, if I have a soul.

I put my hands flat to the ground and push.

  “Don’t hurt yourself,” Seth says.

  “Let her go,” Kyran orders.

Seth turns his head and growls. I know he’s flashing his fangs at Kyran, even if I can’t see it.

Kyran steps forward and I see that he’s barefoot. It catches me off guard for some reason. His feet are huge. And wide. Veins pulsing through them to his toes. I can’t explain this but it’s sexy. It’s so fucking sexy to see him barefoot like that. And when he walks, the grass reaches for him. The blades curl with his step, but when he lifts his foot, they grab and hold him as long as they all can. And when they finally let go, the blades of grass capture each other and retreat back to their positions.

  What is all of this?

“She’s here for me,” Kyran says. “My garden. I brought her here to talk to her.”

“Nobody is stopping you from doing what you want to do,” Layre says.

  “Then leave,” Kyran growls.

  “We can’t,” Darick says.

Kyran turns and flashes through the air with a green hue and is now inches from Darick’s face. Darick reaches up slowly and peels the sunglasses off his face. I realize they all have shirts on now. Darick in his leather jacket, looking like a biker from a TV show. Kyran standing up at him, eye level, his massive arms pouring from the sleeves of his dark green shirt.

“You’re not going to scare me,” Darick says.

“I don’t need to scare you, brother,” Kyran says.

  “I’m leaving,” I say.

“What?” Kyran asks as he looks at me. Green flashes from his eyes. “You can’t leave.”

“You all want to hurt each other because of me,” I say. “And you say I’m in control.”

  “You are, angel,” Seth whispers.

“Look at you all,” I say.

  “She’s right,” Layre says.

“That’s why you all should leave,” Kyran says. “This is my garden.”

“Maybe you should leave,” Seth says, turning his head. “Leave this to us.”

  Kyran stiffens.

“It’s okay, brother,” Darick says. “We’ll do her justice.”

“We won’t miss a detail,” Layre says.

“What are you talking about?” I ask. I look to Kyran. “Who’s doing me justice?”

“Not you,” Kyran says. He looks up. “Feels like rain.”

“You need to walk away, brother,” Layre says. “We can’t let her drown. Take the rain and go.”

  Take the rain and go?

Kyran lowers his head for a few seconds. When he lifts it, his eyes flash so differently. The green is gone and replaced by a gray color.

“Take good care of my heart, Astrid,” Kyran says.

He turns and walks into the thick brush of flowers. They part for him and then swallow him up. Every flower quickly blooming for him and then dying, just like before.

I reach my hand out. “Wait! Kyran!”

I feel something wet hit my hand. I look and see it’s a droplet of water. Followed by another and another. I look up and it’s starting to rain.

“Where is he going?” I ask.

“To take the heaviest rain away,” Layre says. “So you don’t drown.”

  “Drown…?”

“We need to tell you something about Kyran,” Darick says as he steps next to Seth, who is still crouching.

The rain picks up by the second. I take note of the way Seth’s and Layre’s shirts get wet and begin to cling to the wicked muscle hidden under their shirts.

“I thought we don’t have hearts?” I ask. “He said take good care of my heart…”

“You’re right,” Seth says. “We don’t have hearts. Neither do you. We’re dead, Astrid. He meant that in a different way.”

  “His story,” Layre says.

He steps next to Seth. Seth then stands.

  “I don’t get it,” I say.

“Put your head back, angel,” Layre says. “Drink the rain.”

I do as Layre suggests and I open my mouth. My tongue comes forward and I suddenly catch sight of a single rain droplet. All the others around me are a blur. The rain droplet hits my tongue. I bring it into my mouth and swallow.

  Now, the taste… the flavor…

I look up at the other three and feel my body quivering.

“It tastes like Kyran,” I whisper. “Like lavender… and tears…”

  They all nod.

“That’s right, angel,” Layre says. “That’s what it is.”

  I look up again.

I’m amazed and heartbroken at the same time.

The rainwater… it’s not rainwater at all.

  It’s the tears of Kyran.

  10.

The ground is soaked. The grass is soft. I’m not cold, but I still shiver as the rain keeps hitting me. The more I shiver, the more I feel my body reacting. A quick peek down and I realize I’m showing through my shirt. Turkey’s done… you know?

I hug myself, wanting to warm up a little.

I know I can accomplish that between Layre, Seth, and Darick.

  But I don’t ask.

They all stand there, looking serious.

“Tell me,” I whisper. “Tell me about this garden. About Kyran.”

“I showed you the hunters, angel,” Darick says.

He slowly falls to his knees. He strips his wet leather jacket off his body, showing muscle filled arms that are just so unfair. He tosses the jacket to the side, along with his sunglasses. The grass parts way and the jacket and glasses slowly sink into the ground. At this point, I’m surprised but not gasping in shock.

I swear I can feel the blades of grass beneath me moving. But I have to trust nothing bad can happen.

“I showed you their evolution and what became of us,” Darick says. “How it became us versus the hunters. Then us versus ourselves. The story of the blood grew bigger than anything we knew. We’re all brothers, that’s true. There are parts of our lives, that when lost, came together to create this house and everything inside of it. For Kyran, it was this garden.”

“Tough guy with muscles wearing garden gloves,” I say. “I can’t picture it.”

“Picture this then,” Seth says. His voice rumbles the ground. The rainwater hits his long black hair, making him even more devilish and sexy. “A man who loved a woman so much that he made this for her. Because she couldn’t do it.”

  “Oh,” I whisper.

  “Allison,” Darick says.

At that exact moment there’s a crack of thunder that shakes everything. The thunder rumbles and slowly begins to sound like the howling cry of a brokenhearted man.

I don’t need to ask if that’s Kyran.

“He lived fast,” Darick says. “Kyran never believed in death. Not until it almost took her away in an accident. She had been trampled by horses and left for de
ad until he found her. Kyran fought for a living. His second profession was drinking. Third was loving Allison.”

Another slamming boom of thunder above our heads.

“But after the accident, he took her to the best doctors in the world. Spending everything he had to keep her alive. She managed to pull through but could no longer walk.”

“He never gave up on her,” Layre says. “Loved her endlessly, even though she was different. He would carry her places she couldn’t get to. Forever holding her in his arms. He vowed to never fight again. Never to drink again. He sold everything he owned to buy a small cottage so she would never have to worry about steps again.”

I touch my chest. I wish I had a heart to feel it race and ache.

In some strange way, I feel like I’m falling in love with Kyran as I hear this story.

The rain is getting heavier. The cracks and rolls of thunder growing more and more intense.

“She wanted a garden,” Darick says. “So he gave her a garden. Right here.”

I look down at the bright green grass, seeing the dampness on each blade from the pouring rain. The ground absorbs what it can and the rest of the rain water begins to pool.

  “Kyran lived here?” I ask.

“No,” Layre says. “This garden was his. He brought it here.”

“Just like we all brought parts of our existence,” Seth says. “That was part of our compromise to continue to…”

  “Exist,” Darick says.

“This is Kyran’s garden,” I say.

“He tended to this garden and started it from nothing but dirt and a dream. The dream of his Allison.”

An echoing growl swirls around all of us.

I want to stand and find Kyran. I want to hug him.

  But wait…

“So he made this garden for Allison,” I say.

Saying her name makes me feel weird.

“Yes,” Darick says. “It took years to get it like this. The perfect flowers, colors. There’s a part with enough vegetables to feed a small army of hungry men.”

“Too bad we don’t like vegetables,” Layre says.

“There’s more to this story,” Darick says.

I put my hands out and cup them. They quickly fill with rainwater. “I can figure that much. What happened?”
