CHAPTER 2
[1] Ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ· Ρουβην, Συμεων, Λευι, Ιουδα, Ισσαχαρ, Ζαβουλων,
[1] These are the names of the sons of Israel;
[2] Δαν, Ιωσηφ, Βενιαμιν, Νεφθαλι, Γαδ, Ασηρ.
[2] Ruben, Symeon, Levi, Juda, Issachar, Zabulon, Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Nephthali, Gad, Aser.
[3] Υἱοὶ Ιουδα· Ηρ, Αυναν, Σηλων, τρεῖς· ἐγεννήθησαν αὐτῷ ἐκ τῆς θυγατρὸς Σαυας τῆς Χαναανίτιδος. καὶ ἦν Ηρ ὁ πρωτότοκος Ιουδα πονηρὸς ἐναντίον κυρίου, καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτόν.
[3] The sons of Juda; Er, Aunan, Selom. These three were born to him of the daughter of Sava the Chananitish woman: and Er, the first-born of Juda, was wicked before the Lord, and he slew him.
[4] καὶ Θαμαρ ἡ νύμφη αὐτοῦ ἔτεκεν αὐτῷ τὸν Φαρες καὶ τὸν Ζαρα. πάντες υἱοὶ Ιουδα πέντε.
[4] And Thamar his daughter-in-law bore to him Phares, and Zara: all the sons of Juda were five.
[5] υἱοὶ Φαρες· Αρσων καὶ Ιεμουηλ.
[5] The sons of Phares, Esrom, and Jemuel.
[6] καὶ υἱοὶ Ζαρα· Ζαμβρι καὶ Αιθαν καὶ Αιμαν καὶ Χαλχαλ καὶ Δαρα, πάντες πέντε.
[6] And the sons of Zara, Zambri, and Ætham, and Æmuan, and Calchal, and Darad, in all five.
[7] καὶ υἱοὶ Χαρμι· Αχαρ ὁ ἐμποδοστάτης Ισραηλ, ὃς ἠθέτησεν εἰς τὸ ἀνάθεμα.
[7] And the sons of Charmi; Achar the troubler of Israel, who was disobedient in the accursed thing.
[8] καὶ υἱοὶ Αιθαν· Αζαρια. –
[8] And the sons of Ætham; Azarias,
[9] καὶ υἱοὶ Εσερων, οἳ ἐτέχθησαν αὐτῷ· ὁ Ιραμεηλ καὶ ὁ Ραμ καὶ ὁ Χαλεβ καὶ Αραμ.
[9] and the sons of Esrom who were born to him; Jerameel, and Aram, and Chaleb.
[10] καὶ Αραμ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Αμιναδαβ, καὶ Αμιναδαβ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ναασσων ἄρχοντα τοῦ οἴκου Ιουδα,
[10] And Aram begot Aminadab, and Aminadab begot Naasson, chief of the house of Juda.
[11] καὶ Ναασσων ἐγέννησεν τὸν Σαλμων, καὶ Σαλμων ἐγέννησεν τὸν Βοος,
[11] And Naasson begot Salmon, and Salmon begot Booz,
[12] καὶ Βοος ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ωβηδ, καὶ Ωβηδ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ιεσσαι,
[12] and Booz begot Obed, and Obed begot Jessae.
[13] καὶ Ιεσσαι ἐγέννησεν τὸν πρωτότοκον αὐτοῦ Ελιαβ· Αμιναδαβ ὁ δεύτερος, Σαμαα ὁ τρίτος,
[13] And Jessae begot his first-born Eliab, Aminadab was the second, Samaa the third,
[14] Ναθαναηλ ὁ τέταρτος, Ραδδαι ὁ πέμπτος,
[14] Nathanael the fourth, Zabdai the fifth,
[15] Ασομ ὁ ἕκτος, Δαυιδ ὁ ἕβδομος.
[15] Asam the sixth, David the seventh.
[16] καὶ ἀδελφὴ αὐτῶν Σαρουια καὶ Αβιγαια. καὶ υἱοὶ Σαρουια· Αβεσσα καὶ Ιωαβ καὶ Ασαηλ, τρεῖς.
[16] And their sister was Saruia, and another Abigaia: and the sons of Saruia were Abisa, and Joab, and Asael, three.
[17] καὶ Αβιγαια ἐγέννησεν τὸν Αμεσσα· καὶ πατὴρ Αμεσσα Ιοθορ ὁ Ισμαηλίτης.
[17] And Abigaia bore Amessab: and the father of Amessab was Jothor the Ismaelite.
[18] Καὶ Χαλεβ υἱὸς Εσερων ἐγέννησεν τὴν Γαζουβα γυναῖκα καὶ τὴν Ιεριωθ. καὶ οὗτοι υἱοὶ αὐτῆς· Ιωασαρ καὶ Σωβαβ καὶ Ορνα.
[18] And Chaleb the son of Esrom took Gazuba to wife, and Jerioth: and these were her sons; Jasar, and Subab, and Ardon.
[19] καὶ ἀπέθανεν Γαζουβα, καὶ ἔλαβεν ἑαυτῷ Χαλεβ τὴν Εφραθ, καὶ ἔτεκεν αὐτῷ τὸν Ωρ·
[19] And Gazuba died; and Chaleb took to himself Ephrath, and she bore to him Or.
[20] καὶ Ωρ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ουρι, καὶ Ουρι ἐγέννησεν τὸν Βεσελεηλ.
[20] And Or begot Uri, and Uri begot Beseleel.
[21] καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα εἰσῆλθεν Εσερων πρὸς τὴν θυγατέρα Μαχιρ πατρὸς Γαλααδ, καὶ οὗτος ἔλαβεν αὐτήν, καὶ αὐτὸς ἑξήκοντα ἦν ἐτῶν, καὶ ἔτεκεν αὐτῷ τὸν Σεγουβ.
[21] And after this Esron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Galaad, and he took her when he was sixty-five years old; and she bore him Seruch.
[22] καὶ Σεγουβ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ιαιρ. καὶ ἦσαν αὐτῷ εἴκοσι τρεῖς πόλεις ἐν τῇ Γαλααδ·
[22] And Seruch begot Jair, and he had twenty-three cities in Galaad.
[23] καὶ ἔλαβεν Γεδσουρ καὶ Αραμ τὰς κώμας Ιαιρ ἐξ αὐτῶν, τὴν Καναθ καὶ τὰς κώμας αὐτῆς, ἑξήκοντα πόλεις· πᾶσαι αὗται υἱῶν Μαχιρ πατρὸς Γαλααδ.
[23] And he took Gedsur and Aram, the towns of Jair from them; with Canath and its towns, sixty cities. All these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Galaad.
[24] καὶ μετὰ τὸ ἀποθανεῖν Εσερων ἦλθεν Χαλεβ εἰς Εφραθα. καὶ ἡ γυνὴ Εσερων Αβια, καὶ ἔτεκεν αὐτῷ τὸν Ασχωδ πατέρα Θεκωε. –
[24] And after the death of Esron, Chaleb came to Ephratha; and the wife of Esron was Abia; and she bore him Ascho the father of Thecoe.
[25] καὶ ἦσαν υἱοὶ Ιερεμεηλ πρωτοτόκου Εσερων· ὁ πρωτότοκος Ραμ, καὶ Βαανα καὶ Αραν καὶ Ασομ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ.
[25] And the sons of Jerameel the first-born of Esron were, the first-born Ram, and Banaa, and Aram, and Asan his brother.
[26] καὶ ἦν γυνὴ ἑτέρα τῷ Ιερεμεηλ, καὶ ὄνομα αὐτῇ Αταρα· αὕτη ἐστὶν μήτηρ Οζομ.
[26] And Jerameel had another wife, and her name was Atara: she is the mother of Ozom.
[27] καὶ ἦσαν υἱοὶ Ραμ πρωτοτόκου Ιερεμεηλ· Μαας καὶ Ιαμιν καὶ Ακορ.
[27] And the sons of Ram the first-born of Jerameel were Maas, and Jamin, and Acor.
[28] καὶ ἦσαν υἱοὶ Οζομ· Σαμαι καὶ Ιαδαε. καὶ υἱοὶ Σαμαι· Ναδαβ καὶ Αβισουρ.
[28] And the sons of Ozom were, Samai, and Jadae: and the sons of Samai; Nadab, and Abisur.
[29] καὶ ὄνομα τῆς γυναικὸς Αβισουρ Αβιχαιλ, καὶ ἔτεκεν αὐτῷ τὸν Αχαβαρ καὶ τὸν Μωλιδ.
[29] And the name of the wife of Abisur was Abichaia, and she bore him Achabar, and Moel.
[30] υἱοὶ Ναδαβ· Σαλαδ καὶ Αφφαιμ. καὶ ἀπέθανεν Σαλαδ οὐκ ἔχων τέκνα.
[30] And the sons of Nadab; Salad and Apphain; and Salad died without children.
[31] καὶ υἱοὶ Αφφαιμ· Ισεμιηλ. καὶ υἱοὶ Ισεμιηλ· Σωσαν. καὶ υἱοὶ Σωσαν· Αχλαι.
[31] And the sons of Apphain, Isemiel; and the sons of Isemiel, Sosan; and the sons of Sos
an, Dadai.
[32] καὶ υἱοὶ Ιαδαε· Αχισαμαι, Ιεθερ, Ιωναθαν· καὶ ἀπέθανεν Ιεθερ οὐκ ἔχων τέκνα.
[32] And the sons of Dadai, Achisamas, Jether, Jonathan: and Jether died childless.
[33] καὶ υἱοὶ Ιωναθαν· Φαλεθ καὶ Οζαζα. οὗτοι ἦσαν υἱοὶ Ιερεμεηλ.
[33] And the sons of Jonathan; Phaleth, and Hozam. These were the sons of Jerameel.
[34] καὶ οὐκ ἦσαν τῷ Σωσαν υἱοί, ἀλλ’ ἢ θυγατέρες· καὶ τῷ Σωσαν παῖς Αἰγύπτιος καὶ ὄνομα αὐτῷ Ιωχηλ,
[34] And Sosan had no sons, but daughters. And Sosan had an Egyptian servant, and his name was Jochel.
[35] καὶ ἔδωκεν Σωσαν τὴν θυγατέρα αὐτοῦ τῷ Ιωχηλ παιδὶ αὐτοῦ εἰς γυναῖκα, καὶ ἔτεκεν αὐτῷ τὸν Εθθι.
[35] And Sosan gave his daughter to Jochel his servant to wife; and she bore him Ethi.
[36] καὶ Εθθι ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ναθαν, καὶ Ναθαν ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ζαβεδ,
[36] And Ethi begot Nathan, and Nathan begot Zabed,
[37] καὶ Ζαβεδ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Αφαληλ, καὶ Αφαληλ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ωβηδ,
[37] and Zabed begot Aphamel, and Aphamel begot Obed.
[38] καὶ Ωβηδ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ιηου, καὶ Ιηου ἐγέννησεν τὸν Αζαριαν,
[38] And Obed begot Jeu, and Jeu begot Azarias.
[39] καὶ Αζαριας ἐγέννησεν τὸν Χελλης, καὶ Χελλης ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ελεασα,
[39] And Azarias begot Chelles, and Chelles begot Eleasa,
[40] καὶ Ελεασα ἐγέννησεν τὸν Σοσομαι, καὶ Σοσομαι ἐγέννησεν τὸν Σαλουμ,
[40] and Eleasa begot Sosomai, and Sosomai begot Salum,
[41] καὶ Σαλουμ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ιεχεμιαν, καὶ Ιεχεμιας ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ελισαμα. –
[41] and Salum begot Jechemias, and Jechemias begot Elisama, and Elisama begot Ismael.
[42] καὶ υἱοὶ Χαλεβ ἀδελφοῦ Ιερεμεηλ· Μαρισα ὁ πρωτότοκος αὐτοῦ, οὗτος πατὴρ Ζιφ· καὶ υἱοὶ Μαρισα πατρὸς Χεβρων.
[42] And the sons of Chaleb the brother of Jerameel were, Marisa his first-born, he is the father of Ziph: — and the sons of Marisa the father of Chebron.
[43] καὶ υἱοὶ Χεβρων· Κορε καὶ Θαπους καὶ Ρεκομ καὶ Σεμαα.
[43] And the sons of Chebron; Core, and Thapphus, and Recom, and Samaa.
[44] καὶ Σεμαα ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ραεμ πατέρα Ιερκααν, καὶ Ιερκααν ἐγέννησεν τὸν Σαμαι·
[44] And Samaa begot Raem the father of Jeclan: and Jeclan begot Samai.
[45] καὶ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ Μαων, καὶ Μαων πατὴρ Βαιθσουρ.
[45] And his son was Maon: and Maon is the father of Baethsur.
[46] καὶ Γαιφα ἡ παλλακὴ Χαλεβ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Αρραν καὶ τὸν Μωσα καὶ τὸν Γεζουε. καὶ Αρραν ἐγέννησεν τὸν Γεζουε.
[46] And Gaepha the concubine of Chaleb bore Aram, and Mosa, and Gezue.
[47] καὶ υἱοὶ Ιαδαι· Ραγεμ καὶ Ιωαθαμ καὶ Γηρσωμ καὶ Φαλετ καὶ Γαιφα καὶ Σαγαφ.
[47] And the sons of Addai were Ragem, and Joatham, and Sogar, and Phalec, and Gaepha, and Sagae.
[48] καὶ ἡ παλλακὴ Χαλεβ Μωχα ἐγέννησεν τὸν Σαβερ καὶ τὸν Θαρχνα.
[48] And Chaleb’s concubine Mocha bore Saber, and Tharam.
[49] καὶ ἐγέννησεν Σαγαφ πατέρα Μαρμηνα καὶ τὸν Σαου πατέρα Μαχαβηνα καὶ πατέρα Γαιβαα· καὶ θυγάτηρ Χαλεβ Ασχα.
[49] She bore also Sagae the father of Madmena, and Sau the father of Machabena, and the father of Gaebal: and the daughter of Chaleb was Ascha.
[50] οὗτοι ἦσαν υἱοὶ Χαλεβ. – υἱοὶ Ωρ πρωτοτόκου Εφραθα· Σωβαλ πατὴρ Καριαθιαριμ,
[50] These were the sons of Chaleb: the sons of Or the first-born of Ephratha; Sobal the father of Cariathiarim,
[51] Σαλωμων πατὴρ Βαιθλαεμ, Αριμ πατὴρ Βαιθγεδωρ.
[51] Salomon the father of Baetha, Lammon the father of Baethalaem, and Arim the father of Bethgedor.
[52] καὶ ἦσαν υἱοὶ τῷ Σωβαλ πατρὶ Καριαθιαριμ· Αραα, Εσι, Αμμανιθ,
[52] And the sons of Sobal the father of Cariathiarim were Araa, and Æsi, and Ammanith,
[53] Εμοσφεως, πόλις Ιαιρ, Αιθαλιμ καὶ Μιφιθιμ καὶ Ησαμαθιμ καὶ Ημασαραιμ· ἐκ τούτων ἐξήλθοσαν οἱ Σαραθαῖοι καὶ οἱ Εσθαωλαῖοι.
[53] and Umasphae, cities of Jair; Æthalim, and Miphithim, and Hesamathim, and Hemasaraim; from these went forth the Sarathaeans, and the sons of Esthaam.
[54] υἱοὶ Σαλωμων· Βαιθλαεμ, Νετωφαθι, Αταρωθ οἴκου Ιωαβ καὶ ἥμισυ τῆς Μαναθι, Ησαρει,
[54] The sons of Salomon; Baethalaem, the Netophathite, Ataroth of the house of Joab, and half of the family of Malathi, Esari.
[55] πατριαὶ γραμματέων κατοικοῦντες Ιαβες, Θαργαθιιμ, Σαμαθιιμ, Σωκαθιιμ· οὗτοι οἱ Κιναῖοι οἱ ἐλθόντες ἐκ Μεσημα πατρὸς οἴκου Ρηχαβ.
[55] The families of the scribes dwelling in Jabis; Thargathiim, and Samathiim, and Sochathim, these are the Kinaeans that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.
CHAPTER 3
[1] Καὶ οὗτοι ἦσαν υἱοὶ Δαυιδ οἱ τεχθέντες αὐτῷ ἐν Χεβρων· ὁ πρωτότοκος Αμνων τῇ Αχινααμ τῇ Ιεζραηλίτιδι, ὁ δεύτερος Δανιηλ τῇ Αβιγαια τῇ Καρμηλίᾳ,
[1] Now these were the sons of David that were born to him in Chebron; the first-born Amnon, born of Achinaam the Jezraelitess; the second Damniel, of Abigaia the Carmelitess.
[2] ὁ τρίτος Αβεσσαλωμ υἱὸς Μωχα θυγατρὸς Θολμαι βασιλέως Γεδσουρ, ὁ τέταρτος Αδωνια υἱὸς Αγγιθ,
[2] The third, Abessalom, the son of Mocha the daughter of Tholmai king of Gedsur; the fourth, Adonia the son of Aggith.
[3] ὁ πέμπτος Σαφατια τῆς Αβιταλ, ὁ ἕκτος Ιεθρααμ τῇ Αγλα γυναικὶ αὐτοῦ.
[3] The fifth, Saphatia, the son of Abital; the sixth, Jethraam, born of Agla his wife.
[4] ἓξ ἐγεννήθησαν αὐτῷ ἐν Χεβρων, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ἐκεῖ ἑπτὰ ἔτη καὶ ἑξάμηνον. καὶ τριάκοντα καὶ τρία ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ,
[4] Six were born to him in Chebron; and he reigned there seven years and six months: and he reigned thirty-three years in Jerusalem.
[5] καὶ οὗτοι ἐτέχθησαν αὐτῷ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ· Σαμαα, Σωβαβ, Ναθαν καὶ Σαλωμων, τέσσαρες τῇ Βηρσαβεε θυγατρὶ Αμιηλ,
[5] And these were born to him in Jerusalem; Samaa, Sobab, Nathan, and Solomon; four of Bersabee the daughter of Amiel:
[6] καὶ Ιβααρ καὶ Ελισαμα καὶ Ελιφαλετ
[6] and Ebaar, and Elisa, and Eliphaleth,
[7] καὶ Ναγε καὶ Ναφαγ καὶ Ια
νουε
[7] and Nagai, and Naphec, and Japhie,
[8] καὶ Ελισαμα καὶ Ελιαδα καὶ Ελιφαλετ, ἐννέα.
[8] and Helisama, and Eliada, and Eliphala, nine.
[9] πάντες υἱοὶ Δαυιδ πλὴν τῶν υἱῶν τῶν παλλακῶν, καὶ Θημαρ ἀδελφὴ αὐτῶν.
[9] All these were the sons of David, besides the sons of the concubines, and there was also Themar their sister.
[10] Υἱοὶ Σαλωμων· Ροβοαμ, Αβια υἱὸς αὐτοῦ, Ασα υἱὸς αὐτοῦ, Ιωσαφατ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ,
[10] The sons of Solomon; Roboam, Abia his son, Asa his son, Josaphat his son,
[11] Ιωραμ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ, Οχοζια υἱὸς αὐτοῦ, Ιωας υἱὸς αὐτοῦ,
[11] Joram his son, Ochozias his son, Joas his son,
[12] Αμασιας υἱὸς αὐτοῦ, Αζαρια υἱὸς αὐτοῦ, Ιωαθαν υἱὸς αὐτοῦ,
[12] Amasias his son, Azarias his son, Joathan his son,
[13] Αχαζ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ, Εζεκιας υἱὸς αὐτοῦ, Μανασσης υἱὸς αὐτοῦ,
[13] Achaz his son, Ezekias his son, Manasses his son,
[14] Αμων υἱὸς αὐτοῦ, Ιωσια υἱὸς αὐτοῦ.
[14] Amon his son, Josia his son.
[15] καὶ υἱοὶ Ιωσια· πρωτότοκος Ιωαναν, ὁ δεύτερος Ιωακιμ, ὁ τρίτος Σεδεκια, ὁ τέταρτος Σαλουμ.
[15] And the sons of Josia; the first-born Joanan, the second Joakim, the third Sedekias, the fourth Salum.
[16] καὶ υἱοὶ Ιωακιμ· Ιεχονιας υἱὸς αὐτοῦ, Σεδεκιας υἱὸς αὐτοῦ.
[16] And the sons of Joakim; Jechonias his son, Sedekias his son.
[17] καὶ υἱοὶ Ιεχονια – ασιρ· Σαλαθιηλ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ,
[17] And the sons of Jechonias; Asir, Salathiel his son,
[18] Μελχιραμ καὶ Φαδαιας καὶ Σανεσαρ καὶ Ιεκεμια καὶ Ωσαμω καὶ Δενεθι.
[18] Melchiram, and Phadaias, and Sanesar, and Jekimia, and Hosamath, and Nabadias.
