A Republic Under Assault

  Communications between the staff of the University of Delaware Library and Joe Biden or his senatorial, vice presidential, or political campaign staff, or for anyone representing any of those entities between 2010 and [April 30, 2020] about Joe Biden’s Senate records.

  Any logs or sign-in sheets recording any individuals who have visited the special-collections department where records from Joe Biden’s Senate career are stored between 2010 to the date of this request.

  All records from Joe Biden’s Senate career that have been submitted to the University of Delaware Library.

  The university denied our requests, parsing, without corroboration, that “public funds” are not used to support the Joseph R. Biden, Jr., Senatorial Papers.

  We want the records.

  Tara Reade, who has accused Biden of sexually assaulting her in 1993 when she worked as a staff assistant to the then senator, has said28 that she believes a workplace discrimination and harassment complaint she filed against Biden at the time may be in the records housed at the University of Delaware. Biden also admitted to communicating with Vladimir Putin29 and other foreign leaders when he was a United States senator.

  “The University of Delaware should do the right thing and turn over Joe Biden’s public records as required by law,” Daily Caller News Foundation cofounder and president Neil Patel said. “Partisan gamesmanship by a public university is unseemly and unlawful. If they don’t want to do the right thing, we will force them in court.”

  The University of Delaware should stop protecting Joe Biden and provide the public access to his public records, as Delaware law requires.

  SECTION FOUR OUR REPUBLIC UNDER ASSAULT… AT THE BALLOT BOX

  Soros, Soros, Everywhere

  With regard to this section and the next—Our Republic Under Assault at Our Border—there is one name that, time and again, plays the leading role in both of those escalating assaults upon our very liberty.

  That name: George Soros.

  For those of you still not aware of Mr. Soros, what follows is a brief description of his background:

  George Soros was born in Hungary and became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1961. He made his fortune managing hedge funds and investments worldwide. In the February 2017 issue of Forbes magazine his net worth was estimated at $25.2 billion, ranking him—at the time—as the nineteenth wealthiest individual in the world.

  Over the course of the past several years much of our research, investigations, and litigation have been involved in the closely interrelated issues of enforcing our immigration laws and protecting the honesty of our elections. During this time, we have observed aggressive efforts by the Organized Left to break down existing laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels that are designed to block voter fraud and help ensure that only eligible U.S. citizens are allowed to vote.

  As we dug deeper, we found that almost every single time, these hyperaggressive efforts by the organized Left to destroy our rule of law were being well funded by one man:

  George Soros.

  In 1979, George Soros created his Open Society Foundations (OSF). According to the group’s website, OSF has contributed $1.5 billion to groups in the United States alone.

  DiscoveringtheNetworks.org has stated that the OSF has funded 199 organizations in the United States, and an additional seven American groups have been funded indirectly by contributions from other Soros-funded groups. In late 2017, Soros transferred $18 billion… the bulk of his personal wealth… to OSF. In one fell swoop, the George Soros machine’s financial assets not only dwarfed those of America’s two major political parties, but was second only to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in the value of its U.S. assets.

  That is the far-left mega-billions monster we at Judicial Watch have had to face repeatedly the last number of years in court.

  The Soros operation hates us and has tried to smear and suppress Judicial Watch but we won’t be cowed. Facing negative publicity over his radical activism here and abroad, he’s falsely and outrageously accused us and most anyone critical of him of anti-Semitism. This malicious lie is especially rich coming from a inveterate critic of Israel. Reuters reported, for instance that the Israeli Foreign Ministry said that Soros “continuously undermines Israel’s democratically elected governments” and that Soros-funded organizations defame the Jewish state and seek to deny it the right to defend itself.

  WHERE DOES SOROS’S MONEY GO?

  Groups receiving funds from OSF are universally “progressive” in their philosophy. Some recipients cover the full range of radical and progressive causes, including:

  The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)

  The Brookings Institution

  The Center for American Progress

  Common Cause

  Planned Parenthood

  At this point we should once again stress that Judicial Watch is nonpartisan and does not endorse or oppose candidates for public office. We have routinely sued corrupt Republican and Democratic politicians. We firmly believe that our elections should be conducted honestly and free of corruption, and that only eligible voters should be allowed to cast votes. We are the national leader in forcing states to clean voter rolls between elections as required by federal law, and we’ve supported and defended in court a number of state efforts to enact commonsense election integrity measures like voter ID.

  That stated, Judicial Watch does fully support George Soros’s right to spend his money in any lawful way. And he can surely contribute his wealth to any organization (however radical) as he pleases.

  But in fact he is giving his billions away to organizations trying to undermine the rule of law and values.

  As such, we strongly oppose his agenda to:

  Promote an open U.S. border with Mexico, amnesty, and voting rights for illegal aliens;

  Weaken the integrity of our elections in ways that make vote fraud easier and more likely.

  The Soros operation has either founded or funded dozens of radical groups dedicated to effectively erasing America’s borders and any legal distinctions between citizens and noncitizens in our country.

  A key component of these groups’ strategy is to enact amnesty for illegal aliens, inevitably leading to illegal aliens voting in American elections. Here is a partial list of open-border and pro-amnesty groups that his network of groups has funded:

  America’s Voice (pro–comprehensive immigration reform);

  American Bar Association Commission on Immigration Policy (“opposes laws that require employers and persons providing education, health care or other social services to verify citizenship or immigration status”);

  American Immigration Council (pro-amnesty);

  American Immigration Law Foundation (legal actions in support of amnesty);

  Brennan Center for Justice (legal actions, pro bono support to activists, media campaigns);

  Center for Constitutional Rights (pro–open borders);

  National Council of La Raza;

  National Immigration Forum (pro-amnesty for illegal aliens and more visas for individuals wishing to immigrate legally to the United States);

  National Immigration Law Center.

  And so it is no surprise that Soros and his OSF are also major supporters of “sanctuary” policies in cities, counties, and states across America. Most sanctuary policies undermine and violate federal immigration law by forbidding local police from cooperating with federal immigration authorities.

  Beyond that is the fact that Soros-funded groups continually seek to weaken ballot integrity and open voting in U.S. elections to ineligible voters.

  As just one example, George Soros made national headlines in 2016 when it was revealed he was funding legal challenges across the country to state efforts to ensure honest elections.

  What do George Soros and the radical Far Left have against honest elections? Everything.

  Here is but a partial list of “voting rights” groups—which really are anti–elect
ion integrity groups—that the Open Society Foundations has funded:

  The Advancement Project (which advertises itself as “the next generation, multi-racial civil rights organization”);

  Bend the Arc Jewish Action (condemns voter ID laws as barriers that make it harder for minorities to vote);

  Demos (whose board is now chaired by the daughter of radical presidential candidate U.S. senator Elizabeth Warren);

  Project Vote (the voter-mobilization arm of the discredited ACORN organization, which also received Soros support);

  Southern Coalition for Social Justice (involved in several challenges to voter ID and redistricting legal challenges in the South).

  Ultimately, the George Soros radical network of advocacy groups and the Left’s weakening ballot integrity and establishing amnesty for illegal aliens as important keys to ensuring victories for leftist allies far into the future.

  * * *

  Now, understanding the Soros hand in all of this, imagine if you will that all the investigations, all the hard work, and all the good we are doing together to protect our nation was… a complete and total waste of time.

  All of it. Every second, every hour, and every effort, all for nothing.

  But, once again, we won’t have to imagine that liberty and hope-destroying scenario for much longer if the Left gets its way.

  We won’t have to imagine it because they are doing all in their power—even as you read these words—to make that nightmare for us a triumphant reality for them.

  The Left understands better than anyone that if they can steal our elections, they can dramatically increase their corrupt power centers in every city, county, and state in our nation.

  And if they can pull that off—and if we allow them to pull that off—then they can make all the work we are doing to protect our republic and our freedoms totally irrelevant.

  All the debates about borders, taxes, abortion, foreign aid, big government, policing, etc. All that is for naught if our elections can be stolen out from under us.

  Knowing that is one of the Left’s most desperate goals is precisely why Judicial Watch does have a massive project in place to force the counties and states across our nation to monitor and clear up their voter rolls.

  Why is the Left so desperate to muddy the election rolls, oppose voter ID and citizen verification laws, and promote highly suspect and truly dangerous practices like ballot harvesting?

  Again, the answer is obvious to all. It gives them the means and advantages needed to steal elections when needed.

  Judicial Watch has been relentless in trying to stop this, but it would be nice if the Department of Justice actually did its job and joined all of us in this fight.

  Totally on our own, and without the help of the Department of Justice, in 2019, we did find at least 2.5 million extra names on the voting rolls—2.5 million!

  Which as mentioned, is actually good news in the sense that our prior efforts identified 3.5 million extra names on the voting rolls. Our work and our lawsuits resulted in a process that could remove up to 1 million “inactive” voters from Los Angeles County alone.

  If Judicial Watch can do that, why can’t our own Department of Justice?

  When it does pay attention to the laws of our land, the DOJ knows as well as we do that the Left is being funded with hundreds of millions of dollars with the express purpose of weakening our clean election process, our voter ID laws, and now even the sanctity of our Electoral College. The Soros-funded Left and other far-left, antidemocratic groups are pouring in endless money and thousands of man-hours to upend our election systems with policy proposals that undermine clean elections, subvert federal laws, and place the core civil rights of millions at risk—the right not to have one’s vote stolen or negated by voter fraud. Yet the DOJ has largely failed to take any steps to enforce the rule of law on election integrity.

  As we talked about at the beginning of this book, the Left rarely, if ever, lets a crisis go to waste. That was particularly true of the Wuhan COVID-19 pandemic that is now burdening our nation.

  As mentioned, the organized Left and its politician allies instantly called for the need for “mail-in” ballots in the face of the pandemic. Of course, they’ve already supported this—as it was a part of their number one priority, literally HR1 (House Resolution 1), the first bill introduced after the Democrats gained control of the House in 2018.

  Why? Because mail-in votes can be easily manipulated, or… conveniently lost.

  To that exact point, according to our own federal government as well as reporting in the media, since 2012 more than 28 million “mail-in” ballots have gone missing—meaning they were neither returned by voters nor returned as undeliverable in the mail.

  Yes, 28 million! That is the population of several states.

  As an example, according to the reports, in 2012, more than 33 million mail-in ballots were sent out to registered voters. Almost 4 million were not returned.

  During the 2014 election cycle, approximately 30 million mail-in ballots were sent out. Just over 8 million went missing.

  During the 2016 and 2018 election cycles, approximately 84 million mail-in ballots were sent to registered voters. Of that number, more than 16 million were not returned.

  As our friend J. Christian Adams, the president of the Public Legal Interest Foundation, who produced this “lost ballot” data, said to Breitbart News: “Vote by mail is a disaster. People who think it works haven’t studied the failures. The facts show mail voting doesn’t work.”

  But, maybe the Left has studied those “failures,” and is in fact counting on them.

  It is entirely because of those failures and irregularities that the Democratic Party and its ultraliberal allies—including and especially the George Soros money machine—are lobbying nonstop for mail-in voting for the 2020 presidential election most of all. They are well aware that if they get their way, millions of ineligible and illegal voters may get those mail-in ballots.

  As to be expected, many high-profile powerful leftist politicians and Hollywood celebrities are pushing hard for these mail-in ballots. The likes of former vice president Joe Biden, First Lady Michelle Obama, former Obama White House advisor Valerie Jarrett, and liberal Hollywood couple Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, just to name a few.

  No surprise that Valerie Jarrett also instantly dials up the vote by mail-in ballot scam to online voting. Insisted Ms. Jarrett: “Every single American should be able to register to vote online.”

  Gee. Aren’t these the exact same people who were insisting those mean Russians were trying to hack our voting system during the 2016 presidential election?

  It’s also quite predictable that those who want mail-in ballots for the safety of the people during a time of pandemic have no problem whatsoever with what is called “ballot harvesting.”

  For those not familiar with that tactic from the liberal playbook, it goes like this: “Ballot harvesting” allows campaign workers, union members, and various other volunteers to go door-to-door—even during the height of a pandemic—to personally collect mail-in ballots and then hand-deliver them to election officials to be tabulated.

  Again, what could possibly go wrong with that process? Everything.

  Such as the high number of documented cases of these “ballot harvesters” actually going into the homes of the voters to “help” them find and fill out their ballots.

  This is a recipe for voter fraud, intimidation, and lost votes for countless Americans.

  But Judicial Watch isn’t sitting idly by—as we are the most significant force for cleaner elections in America.

  There is a plan. Not to do good. But to do harm to basic American concepts of free and fair elections.

  The Left’s reform agenda is actually regressive, as it would erase the progress made toward cleaner elections over the last three decades.

  Ignore the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) Section 8 of the NVRA (passed by a Democratic Congress
and signed into law by President Bill Clinton in 1993) requires states to make “a reasonable effort to remove the names of ineligible voters” from voter rolls… proof that less than twenty years ago Democrats and Republicans recognized that dirty voter rolls are an open invitation to voter fraud!

  But in the years since, many state and local election officials, Republicans and Democrats, have failed to clean their voter rolls, usually citing the costs. And the organized Left has determined that keeping voter lists “dirty” leaves the door open for them to engage in ACORN-style voter fraud. Judicial Watch aggressively and successively challenged states to clean their voter rolls. We have also done what the Obama and Trump Justice Departments have failed to do… we sued states not complying with the NVRA.

  “All Mail-In Ballots” voting “All mail-in ballots” voting is a system where ballots are both distributed and returned by mail. In the 2016 presidential election it is estimated that roughly 25 percent of the votes cast were cast by mail. Leftists say that postal voting saves money… but what they don’t say is that postal voting enhances the chance of voter fraud.

  “Ballot harvesting” “Ballot harvesting” allows individuals to collect and return ballots from other individuals and turn those ballots in to be counted. Judicial Watch believes ballot harvesting is an irresistible invitation for bad actors to engage in voter fraud… Indeed, in North Carolina, a Republican congressional campaign operative used ballot harvesting to eke out a “victory” for his client… while apparently throwing away some of the ballots he collected. The state elections board launched an investigation, refused to certify the Republican “winner,” and forced a new special election in September 2019. This type of fraud is why ballot harvesting is illegal virtually everywhere, with California being the worst exception. Of course, the Pelosi House wants to impose unbridled ballot harvesting nationally.
