Blondie (Midland Springs Book 2)
Page 22
“Aw, dammit. C’mon, Blondie…” He shakes his head back and forth, like he’s at war with what to say next. “Do you really want to drive my truck? I’ll let you drive her, if that’s what you really want,” he tells me, reluctantly.
I give him my best doe eyes, channeling a little bit of Rachael. “You’d really let me drive your truck?”
“Yes.” It’s a closed-lipped response, but an agreement, nonetheless.
“Well, thanks, Cowboy. Pull over!”
“Like, right now?”
I can see the panic in his eyes, and it takes everything in me not to laugh. “Yeah, right now. Is that a problem?”
“No,” he grunts, pulling over to the side of the road.
He gets out of the truck, slamming the door shut a little. I duck my head down to grab something from my purse—but mostly because I need to let out a laugh without him seeing me. Taking a deep breath and schooling my features, I straighten up and open the door. He’s waiting next to my door, impatiently. “Hey, Cowboy?”
“What, Lydia?”
“I got you something,” I tell him, holding out a manila envelope with a bow on it. His pissed off expression falls away, replaced by that sexy smirk I love so much.
“Oh yeah?” He takes the envelope from me and looks down at it with confusion. “What is it?”
“Do you not know how presents work? Open it, silly.”
He carefully opens the folder, letting the stack of papers slide out into his hand. I watch him as his eyes dart back and forth, reading the first page. “What…? These are building permits.”
“Mhmm.”
“For my property...I don’t understand.” He looks up at me with those gorgeous gray eyes, utterly confused.
“I was talking with Maggie, and as much as I love your mother, and she loves me, we figured that it was probably best if we had our own place—”
“Are you saying what I think you’re saying?”
With a huge smile on my face, I tell him, “If you think I’m saying that we’re going to build a house on your family’s property, so we can live and grow old right by the oak tree that will forever be our spot, then yes. I’m saying exactly that.”
He scoops me up out of the truck, twirling me around. When we stop spinning, our lips crash together. Kissing like he needs it as much as he needs air to breathe. “I fucking love you, Blondie.”
“And I fucking love you, Cowboy.”
“You sure you want to be with me forever?”
Nodding my head, I lock eyes with him. The ocean meeting the storm clouds: explosive, glorious and inevitable. “And then some.”

Jo's Ramblings
Thank you, wonderful beautiful reader of mine. I really hope you liked Lydia and Max's story. If you did, please consider leaving a review. Hell, if you didn't could you leave one anyways? It really does make a difference for indie authors.
It was a struggle to get through this one. Blondie is not nearly as sunshiney as Their Book Nerd. But I did it, we did it. I apologize for any tears shed, I hope by the end you thought it was worth it. Midland has become such a special place in my heart, these characters are so different and real to me. I love getting to know the different people, and can't wait to explore more of this town.
This is the part where I thank everyone and try not to cry. *snort* We both know I'll probably cry. Okay, here goes nothing...Massive thank you to Big Daddy (hubby). We hit some major personal lows during the making of this book, but we're still standing and I am forever grateful for you. I couldn't do this without your love and support. Izzy, my lovely PA extraordinaire, I can't even begin to thank you properly. I WOULD BE A MESS WITHOUT YOU. Thank you for keeping my head on my shoulders, I seriously would have lost my shit without you. I could make absolutely nothing with these books and it would have been worth it in the end, because I got a best friend. I freakin' love you twin! And then there's my co-wifey...what to say about this bitch? I heart your face! Thank you for always putting up with my crazy, lord knows there's a shit-ton.
Alpha, Beta, and ARC readers. I've already thanked you about 23904289 times. Here's one more! Seriously, thank you so much. I owe so much of my success and sanity to you wonderful people that volunteer your time and energy to help me put out the best version of my book. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your time and dedication. And to the Bunnies, thanks for the chats! Love you, darlings.
To the other authors and PAs that I've met, thank you for making me feel like I belong. Being a shy weirdo with social anxiety, it's pretty fucking hard to feel like you belong. This community is so welcoming and loving, and I am so happy to be apart of it.
I may be a little more slow-going than I wanted to be because, well...life happens. Don't let that get you down gorgeous, I will continue writing stories about love in many ways shapes and forms. This is only the beginning.
Stay tuned motherfuckers...

About the Author
Joanne Ganci is a wife to a wonderfully understanding man, that is somehow willing to put up with all of her nonsense. And a mother to an adorable little monster. She has an addiction to fiction—seriously, she needs help—in all forms: books, movies, and TV. Her addiction and the fact that she is a hopeless romantic led her to sit down and write one day. She may or may not be winging this whole thing—spoiler: she is—but it's her hope and goal to make at least one person smile or laugh with her words. She's a hot mess and that's an understatement, but she's always good for a laugh or two-I won't tell her we're laughing at her if you won't, deal?
