“Khouri,” Navidae groaned, driving into him all the harder. “Fuck, Khouri, you’re so tight for me.”

“I’m- I need to come,” Khouri gasped, just trying to hold onto what little sanity he had left. It’d been so long since he’d been touched like this, been touched by Navidae with all his intent and power. He writhed and bucked against the hands holding him down, aching to touch himself. He couldn’t grind against anything like this. He needed it. Gods, he needed it now. “Please. Navi, please, give it to me.”

“Don’t tell me you want to come already?” Navidae laughed low and dark, dragging Khouri’s head back by the hair so he could kiss him silent as he drove his hips forward harder, faster. Behind their heads, the headboard of the bed thudded against the wall like a heartbeat that rattled the entire room. “We’ve only just begun,” he whispered against his lips. Navidae kissed until Khouri couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think, and then he broke it just in time to watch Khouri shiver and shake as piercing, devastating pleasure punched a hole straight through his everything.

The orgasms were always… different with Navidae. Different than they were with Sorin. Sorin coaxed slowly, building them up from gentle beginnings until they overtook Khouri like the rising tide. Fitting, he supposed, since the ocean was all Sorin had known before. But Navidae. Navidae was more like a storm. Brilliant, brutal, aggressive, and yet still so fulfilling. Khouri had missed it. He’d missed feeling lost in the whims of another, dependent on them for the mercy they may or may not give.

Khouri missed Navidae. He just missed him and everything he could do to him.

“You didn’t even have time to answer me, did you?” Navidae’s voice asked with a laugh. Khouri tried to lift his head; he really did try. He barely managed to topple himself onto his side. Navidae, however, was kind enough to push him the rest of the way down, laying him out on his back before he took hold of his leaking cock and worked himself off between Khouri’s spread thighs. His release added to the mess Khouri had made of himself, warm and sticky and so familiar. Khouri regretted it a bit; were it up to him, he would have made Navidae come inside him like he usually did.

Oh well, he thought, blushing a little as Navidae drew his fingers through the mess and licked them clean in the next instant. He hardly expected this to be the only orgasm they shared tonight. Navidae had said it before; they were just getting started.

Khouri lifted his weak arms to wrap them around Navidae’s neck, dragging him down for a kiss. His shoulders ached, and his wrists were sure to have bruises on them come morning. It didn’t matter. Nothing mattered except for this.

“Mmm, Navi,” he purred. His cheek nuzzled Navidae’s, his smile kissing him chastely. The aches were the best part.

  “Yes, pet?”

Khouri smiled wider. Warm fingers carded through his hair. “I missed you, Navi.”

Navidae chuckled giddily, holding him tightly and raining down kisses eagerly. “I missed you too.” He settled his lips at Khouri’s ear, nipping and teasing his lobe until Khouri giggled and pushed his face away, making Navidae pout. “Oh, tired of me already? Let me kiss you all over. It’s the only comfort I have after missing you for so long.”

Khouri let out a little breath when Navidae buried his face in his neck. “I could never tire of you,” he promised, tangling his fingers in his lover’s hair to hold him there, savoring the affection. It was so sweet, all of this. Intimate. He’d imagined their reunion several times over the past few months. This was great. Only… “I’m just a little surprised.”

“Surprised?” Navidae pulled back to kiss Khouri’s mouth, his eyes warm and half-lidded in his contentment. “Whatever for?”

“I thought you were going to take the excuse to fuck me in front of everyone,” Khouri laughed, rubbing his nose against Navidae’s to chase away his growing frown. “In front of all those nobles just to see them burn with envy.” He’d made that promise to Navidae before with the hope it might happen. He hadn’t thought it the sort of offer Navidae would ever willingly turn down.

Navidae’s smile tightened, and he looked over Khouri’s shoulder for a moment. “Ah, well. It’s not a good time for such things right now,” he said, turning back to kiss Khouri as if that explained anything. “Isn’t this nicer? I get to have you all to myself for a bit.”

Well, it was nice enough, but it hadn’t been what Khouri expected. He kissed Navidae’s cheek and lips, pressing closer until his calf was between Navidae’s legs. “Is something wrong?” he breathed, staring into his lover’s eyes. “You can tell me if there is. I want to help.”

“Sweet bird,” Navidae crooned, rolling over Khouri to kiss him properly. He made it deep and warm, his tongue so confident that it stole the concern from Khouri easily. His fingers threaded themselves through dark hair, his presence alone enough to soothe. “Everything is fine. Just let me welcome you home properly before we think about letting the rest know of your return.”

“Navi…” It didn’t sit well with Khouri to leave it at that. He fidgeted beneath Navidae’s weight, his eyes fluttering shut when Navidae began to kiss a line down his neck, his chest, lower and lower still.

“Shh,” the Lord hushed, dipping his tongue into Khouri’s navel. “No more talk of that tonight.”

It was largely unfair, this kind of tactic. Unfair but effective. Khouri balled up his hands and covered his face as Navidae put his lips and tongue to work. He spread his thighs and told himself to let it go for the moment. Khouri was home now, so he knew everything would be alright.

After all, Navidae wouldn’t lie to him.

  Chapter Eight

When morning came, Khouri could barely remember why he had been so hesitant to come back at all. He was pleasantly sore and warm in a way that told him he hadn’t been abandoned in lieu of work come morning. Navidae was wrapped around him and kissing his ear, whispering good morning with a kiss.

“Welcome home, blackbird,” Navidae crooned into his ear as he drew his hands lower. Khouri choked on a moan, loving it all. It was certainly good to be home. Unlike Mastha’s place, there were no rules here to forbid them from the physical.

Khouri was as loud as he wanted to be, and Navidae rewarded him for every choked cry in spades. The cold of the Duskriven melted away in Navidae’s arms. It was a pleasure Khouri knew he’d never find anywhere else but in the bed they shared.

“It’s good to be home,” Khouri whispered, meaning it.

And it was. Shockingly enough, it was very, very good to be home again, even if it was a few months early. He’d missed Navidae horribly. He’d missed these kisses and caresses, the way Navidae would wrap his arms around him and dominate the entire room with his presence alone. Khouri smiled into every kiss. He arched and begged, letting his voice go louder and louder until it left him entirely. Navidae stared at him from his place between his thighs, flushed and grinning boyishly at another job well done.

He pressed a kiss to Khouri’s inner thigh, overlapping a new stinging bite mark. “We should get you some breakfast,” Navidae whispered, dragging his tongue over it next. “You always come back to me skin and bones.”

Khouri snorted. He lifted a shaky hand to his forehead to brush the hair from his eyes. “I’m pretty sure I’m heavier now than I was when I left,” he answered. He swallowed hard after; his voice was cracked and his throat was dry. Too much screaming. “But, yeah. Breakfast sounds good.”

Navidae lifted himself, dragging his naked body over Khouri’s until they were staring into one another’s eyes. “Then let’s get you fed,” he whispered, dipping down to kiss him.

Of course, it wasn’t as simple as that. Khouri was an utter mess after the night they’d just had together, so a bath was in order first. A bath full of roving hands and sharp teeth. Khouri was treated to the sound of his own wrecked voice echoed back at him from within the stone chamber.

Once they were both as clean as they were to likely get, they dressed each other. A loose robe for Navidae and a lon
g, thickly knitted sweater for Khouri. Khouri let out the ghost of a moan when Navidae tugged on a sleeve, pressing his lips to the newly bared skin at the collar. “Gods, Khouri,” he rasped. “I missed the scent of you.”

The taste too, and the feeling of him, clearly. Khouri colored and turned towards his lover, wrapping his arms around him tightly as Navidae traced his fingers along the cleft of Khouri’s ass. “Are we going to eat breakfast or are you going to eat me instead?” he wondered, dizzy at the thought of more. He wasn’t sure if he could get hard again so soon, but knowing Navidae he’d find a way to get him there regardless.

Navidae let out a husky laugh and hooked his hands beneath Khouri’s bare thighs, lifting him into his arms. He pressed a kiss to Khouri’s cheek, then a nip to Khouri’s ear. He pulled away when Khouri’s stomach let out a grumble. “Maybe after I feed you,” he sighed. “I suppose I can always just have you for dessert.”

Khouri laughed. He wrapped his arms around Navidae’s neck, smiling softly as they moved towards the door. “Dessert after breakfast?” he teased, burying his chilled nose in the crook of Navidae’s neck to keep it warm. They were on the stairs now, the air much colder than it had been in the bedroom. “I didn’t think you had such a sweet tooth.”

The manor bled by in shapes of color and bursts of varying cold, but Navidae’s warmth was constant, as was his soothing voice. “Only for you,” he said, shouldering through the door that led to the dining room. “Just you.”

Despite having been gone for awhile, the dining room felt and looked as it always had. High ceilings, dusty, untouched candles hanging from the chandeliers above. Navidae set him down on his feet just inside the doorway, taking him by the hand to guide him towards the table.

“Did you tell the chefs that I’m back?” he asked, noting how some of his favorites were speckled among the selection.

Navidae pulled out a chair and sat himself down in front of the only plate. Khouri didn’t argue when Navidae pulled him onto his lap. “I’m sure Dezik informed them.”

That made sense. He’d definitely surprised Navidae with his arrival yesterday, so it stood to reason that Dezik had to fill everyone else in while they got caught up. Khouri straddled Navidae’s hips and wrapped his arms around his lover’s neck, kissing him languidly, basking in the warmth, the pleasure of being back. Ha. Caught up. That was certainly a way to phrase it.

“I can’t remember the last time we shared breakfast together.” Running his fingers through Navidae’s thick hair, Khouri pulled back just enough to smile. They didn’t often get to eat breakfast like this together. Navidae had his work, and Khouri was too fond of sleeping in for their paths to cross this early in the day.

Navidae leaned into Khouri’s hand like an overgrown pet. “Too long by anyone’s count.”

“Will you feed me?” Khouri wondered, leaning in to kiss his nose.

Navidae wrinkled it, then laughed. “It’d be my pleasure.”

Khouri smiled so wide that it hurt. He rewarded Navidae with small, teasing little kisses along his chin, his cheek, his lips as Navidae reached past him for the food so temptingly close. It gave Khouri the chance to let his hands roam down Navidae’s trim chest. Gods, the muscles rippled beneath his fingers, firm and cut and so perfect it felt a crime to cover them from sight.

“I missed you,” he said, kissing a spot on the underside of Navidae’s jaw. Every single inch of him.

“Keep saying it so I believe it,” Navidae teased, feeding Khouri a berry as he kissed his ear. “I can’t get enough of you like this.”

Khouri laughed. “Mmm, I’m glad.” He picked up a berry of his own and brought it to Navidae’s lips, tracing the shape of Navidae’s smile. “I’d hate for you to get bored after dragging me back here like this.”

Khouri let out a soft huff when two strong hands settled on his ass and squeezed. “I could never,” his lover promised, stealing the fruit from his fingers with a confident bite. He chewed and smiled, murmuring, “The manor is too big without you here to give it some life,” before tilting his head for another sweet kiss. Khouri fell into it easily, eagerly even. When it felt this good, how could he not?

Though he’d been in this position countless times before, it still sent duskmoths fluttering in the pit of his stomach. Navidae was warm and present, holding him close, luxuriating in the proximity—the intimacy—of it all. They broke the kiss to breathe against one another’s lips, eyes half-mast and nearly black from want. Khouri smiled and leaned in for another kiss; it was easy to forget about eating— about everything—when he had Navidae all to himself like this.

Khouri held onto the back of Navidae’s chair as he kissed him, their chests pressed together and Navidae’s hands burning paths along his lower back. Gods, he wanted him again already. How many times had it been? Three times during the night and then a break for sleep. Khouri woke up to that kiss— a kiss that promptly turned into Navidae’s fingers inside him and his mouth against his navel. Then again in the bath and then the teasing promise of another time while dressing...

He tore his mouth from Navidae’s to gasp, laughing at the absurdity of it all.

“What’s so funny?” Navidae crooned, his voice rough and low and as good as sex itself. His fingers slipped beneath the hem of the sweater Khouri had tossed on, his lips curling into a lazy, content grin.

“We just fucked more in the last few hours than we would in a normal week,” Khouri chuckled, tucking an unruly lock of hair behind Navidae’s ear. He’d let it grow out a bit since the last time he was here. It was a charming look. It certainly gave Khouri more to grab when suffering beneath Navidae’s skilled mouth. “Maybe I should go away more often. You’re less likely to neglect me that way.”

Navidae raised a brow. “Would you prefer it if I fucked you half a dozen times every day?” he wondered, squeezing Khouri’s ass like a tease. “You might get tired of me if I indulge you so often.”

Khouri patted Navidae’s cheek. “I’d be more concerned about you getting it up that much,” he said, loving how Navidae narrowed his eyes. “Could your stamina hold out if you didn’t have months of denial pushing you— Ah!”

The teeth that sank into his shoulder weren’t unexpected, but the shock of suddenly being bitten was hard to swallow down regardless. Khouri let out a truly embarrassing mewl and sagged against Navidae’s chest.

“Navi,” he whined, clutching his lover’s shoulders with desperate hands. “Navi, I was joking.”

The laugh that earned him felt so odd against his wounded shoulder. Navidae slowly let go and soothed the bleeding bite with his tongue. “If only we could stay in bed together like that,” he sighed, trailing kisses up Khouri’s neck to meet his lips. “I’d make you sing for hours.”

Khouri rolled his hips against Navidae’s, shivering at the promise of it all. “Please, I want you to fuck me like you did in—” “Oh, come on,” a new voice grumbled, breaking Khouri from the quiet morning he was aiming to make loud. Sorin shouldered his way through the door, a frown already on his face despite the early hour. “Even at the breakfast table?”

Shock hit first, and then came the embarrassment. Khouri scrambled to put some distance between himself and Navidae. It was breakfast, and they did have company. He quickly turned to face Sorin, draping his legs over Navidae’s lap in a position he hoped looked a little less intent than straddling him had.

“Jealous?” Navidae prodded, brow raised as he trailed his lips along Khouri’s throat. He put up with the change but only just. His hands still wandered. Khouri shivered. It took a surprising amount of effort to discourage the behavior, but somehow Khouri managed to do it anyway.

Sorin scoffed and sat down while Khouri smacked Navidae’s cheek lightly. “Play nice,” Khouri whispered, kissing Navidae when he pouted. “I want you two to get along.”

Navidae groaned and held tighter to Khouri’s waist. His lips found the nape of his neck, sucking and nipping pointedly. “I think you ask too much of us
so early in the morning, pet,” he chuckled, meeting Sorin’s gaze.

“For once, I agree,” the man returned tersely as he loaded up a spare plate with food. It hadn’t been set out in a proper dining set; Dezik probably told the servants there was a guest staying here, but not to treat him too kindly. Sorin didn’t seem to mind. He was too busy looking curiously at the hrea bread, tapping at it with his fork only to pull a face when he saw how springy it was. He bypassed it and stuck to the fruit he recognized instead.

Khouri tilted his head to give Navidae more room to kiss as he watched Sorin through half-lidded eyes. “Did you sleep well?” he asked, lacing his fingers with Navidae’s. “Dezik got you to your room, right?” He still felt a little bad about abandoning him like that the night before, but with Navidae touching him, it was far too easy to brush it aside.

Sorin chewed and swallowed, washing down his mouthful with a swig from his cup. Khouri held back a smile, wondering what Sorin might say to drinking milk from a creature that most certainly wasn’t a cow.

“Well, I didn’t spend all night wandering the halls,” he muttered ruefully. “He eventually made his way down and showed me where to go. This place is just too damn big. Did you switch the paintings around? I swear I couldn’t recognize a damn thing.”

Navidae shrugged lazily. He kissed Khouri’s shoulder and reached for some of his forgotten breakfast. He had loaded up the plate with what Khouri noticed were his tastes in mind, not Navidae’s. “Perhaps I took to entertaining myself with Khouri gone? It’s never a wrong time to change things up,” he said, giving Sorin a pedantic look. “Some of us tire of seeing something dull linger overlong.”
