Cuffed by A Black Billionaire

“Whew, I know the feeling, boo, because if my people call me one more time, I’m sure I’m gon’ blow they heads off.” She joked.
“How’s the boo life? I know you and P been talking?” I asked.
“Girl, fuck him.” She shrieked.
“What? What happened that quick?” I asked. She put her head in her hands and I shook my head.
“Shi, no.” I whined.
“I know, but I didn’t think he’d be the type to just fuck and duck my ass. Now I’m sitting here stuck on stupid, because not only did he ghost my ass, but he gave me the best sex I’ve ever had in my life.” She fell out. I shook my head.
“Girl, you are literally, insane.” I laughed at her.
“No, he got me so fucked up.” She snapped.
“He got us both fucked up. Nigga, you can’t quit us!” I clapped my hands with each word.
“Exactly, sis. But he did.” She shrugged.
“Damn.” I sat back.
“Fuck him and his little dick having ass.” She snapped.
“Oh, wait. It was little?” I asked, confused.
“Nah, bitch, it was about medium sized and juicy.” I slapped my forehead and shook my head.
“Girl, you ain’t got no sense. If it makes you feel any better, I haven’t heard from Kentrell either. A text here and there, but other than that, nothing.” I shrugged.
“What?”
“Yeah, and it’s like, I’m so attracted to him. Kentrell is like Heaven sent, but I’m also hesitant, because I know that if I let go and let my guard down, I’m going to fall, and fall hard. But what if he hurts me?” I asked.
“I know it’s hard. But you just have to let go, and let God, sis. I mean, there’s two possibilities, either you fall, fall hard, and he catches you. Or you continue to leave your guard up and be left with what if’s.” She told me.
“What if I fall and he doesn’t catch me?” I asked.
“You don’t know what’ll happen until you try, right?” She gave me a small smile.
“You’re right. He’s been traveling so much though. That’s what I mean, he’s such a man, like a real fucking hustler about his business. Ugh. I’m about to text him.” I smirked and shot him a text. Of course, he didn’t text right back. I just sat there with Shi for the night, drinking wine, and having fun, when I got an incoming call from Kentrell. It was weird, because we never called each other, because he was always on go.
“Hellooo.” I answered, tipsily.
“You good?” He asked.
“Yeah, just sitting here, sipping wine with my best friend.” I told him.
“Oh yeah?” He said.
“Yeah, what’s up with you, are you back in town?” I asked.
“Yeah. But I’m headed out to Cali for a couple of days.” He told me.
“Oh, okay.” I said, sadly.
“Why you sounding all sad?” His deep voice said.
“No, it’s just I finally have a weekend off, or whatever. I was hoping maybe one day I could hang out with you. But it’s okay. Maybe next time, when you’re not busy.” I told him.
“When you gotta go back to work?” He asked.
“Monday afternoon.” I rolled my eyes.
“I’m coming back Monday.” He said. I exhaled loudly and rolled my eyes.
“Like I said, it’s okay.” I shrugged, ready to hang up. My line started to click, I didn’t bother looking.
“Nah, I hear it in your voice. I’ma get a ticket for you to come with me.” He stated.
“Umm, wait, what? No.” I started.
“It’s cool, that way, when I’m done, I can spend time with you. We can get separate rooms and shit, so you comfortable.” He offered, and I sat straight up. My line beeped again, and I looked noticing it was Mylo.
“Umm, someone’s on my other line. I’mma have to pass, I’m sorry.” I hurriedly hung up and answered Mylo.
“Hello,” I answered.
“Heyy, sis.” She giggled.
“Mylaijha, what the hell you want?” I asked.
“I need your help.” She slurred.
“I don’t have time for this. You’re an adult figure it out!” I snapped and hung up. She had blown my buzz completely. I sat my phone down and focused on the show, my mind running a mile a minute. It wasn’t even ten minutes later, my dad called me, screaming that Mylo had been in a car accident, and was at the hospital. I shook my head, feeling slightly bad, but not really.
“You’re never there for her when she needs you! No matter what, y’all are sisters!” He screamed.
“What hospital is she in?” I asked. He told me and I got up, telling Shi I had to go. She gave me a hug and told me not to let them get to me. I nodded and walked to my car. It was raining, and I was trying my hardest not to cry. My family put so much stress on me, and it was hard, because as bad as I wanted to cut them off, they were family. But what does that mean if they only add stress to your life? I pulled up in the parking garage and sat there, letting my mind wander. Why was I always here for her, when she made it clear she didn’t care about me? I thought back to the day where Mylo and I’s relationship changed for the worst.
I had gone back home the very next break that I had from school. I was going through it mentally, and trying to bounce back from the assault that occurred with Shane, and the fact that of all people to cheat on me with, he chose Amara’s trifling ass. I was so hurt, but what hurt me the most was that I attended Amara’s baby shower, and it was Shane’s baby. All the while my blood sister knew what was going on. That was like a slap in the face. I had yet to confront her about it, but when she came over my mother’s house today, I sat there, staring at her as the rage built up. I never told anyone that I knew who Shane was cheating on me with, or how. I went to the fucking doctor to find out that his nasty, dirty ass, had given me an STD, and I almost ended up on an episode of Snapped. I went through his phone, which I shouldn’t have, but I wanted to know what nasty bitch he was fucking that gave me an STD. While he was sleeping, I went through his text messages, and read him and Amara’s entire thread, and I was in tears.
“What you doing in town?” Mylo asked me.
“Just wanted to come visit Mom.” I stood and walked to the kitchen to get some water. My mother came down the steps and asked Mylo what was she doing in her house.
“Well, I need to borrow some money. Like sixty dollars, Mom.” She started.
“For what, Mylo? Why don’t you get a damn job? Or better yet, start charging motherfuckers.” My mom added, and I was shocked she said that.
“Ma, I don’t have all day. Amara’s waiting on me, and she gotta go pick up Shania from her momma’s.” Mylo said, and it was like as soon as she said the child’s name, something snapped in me. I walked back to where they were and stood right in her face. She took a few steps back.
“Did you know yo friend was fucking my nigga?” I asked her.
“What?” She scrunched up her face.
“You heard me.” I said.
“Mom, can I borrow the money or not? Cause I’m not dealing with this crazy girl.” She started. She said Amara was outside, so I just made my way outside, and to the car in the parking lot next to my mother’s. I went to the driver’s side and opened the door. Amara instantly frowned and was looking at me sideways.
“What the fuck, Yanni?” She asked.
“How long you been fucking Shane?” I asked.
“What?” She shrieked, and her eyes damn near bulged outta her head.
“You heard me. I know we’re not close or nothing like that. But damn, I thought you being best friends with my sister would make him off limits.” I spat and walked off. I wasn’t going to get ugly with her, because I had too much to lose.
“Girl, fuck you and Shane. I was only fucking with him to get a check! All those times you were helping him with his bills, that money was coming to me, you dumb ass broad!” She yelled out. I was so embarrassed, and I wanted to kill Shane.
“You got th
at, Amara. You got it.” I put my hands up and walked back to the apartment. Mylo and my mom was into it.
“And you knew about it! You foul as fuck, I would never do no shit like that to you! You’re my sister before anything! WE’RE BLOOD! That bitch ain’t gon’ do shit but drag you down to Hell with her scandalous ass!” I screamed in Mylo’s face. Amara had the motherfucking nerve to walk into my mother’s doorway and threaten me, after I just let her make it outside, when I could’ve beat her ass.
“Wait a minute, what the hell is going on?” My momma asked.
“My, let’s go, boo. Cause I hate to have to beat yo sister ass.” Amara looked me up and down.
“Oh, you ain’t gone beat shit in here!” My mother snapped.
“Like I said.” She got loud.
“Mylo, yeah. You and that disrespectful little hoe need to get the fuck up outta my house.” My mother said.
“Girl, come on, bring yo crazy ass on.” Mylo giggled, and I couldn’t control my body as I ran up and popped Mylo in the mouth. I was used to our sister fights, because we were sisters, but her and Amara jumping me was the last straw. I had redirected my anger toward Amara, because I felt like she had come between my sister and I. Somehow, in my mind, I was convinced that this bitch stole my little sister from me. Ever since she’d been coming around, Mylo ain’t been the same. Instead of Mylo pulling me off her or trying to stop it, she was pulling my hair, and hitting me on the side of my head, until my mother snatched her off me, screaming at her.
It took a couple of local neighbors to come and help my mother break up the fight. I had fucked Amara up, and Mylo had knocked my right eye damn near shut. My mother was hysterical and furious, and they were holding her back from getting to Mylo. They were peeling Amara off the ground, and I grabbed my car keys, my bag, and the rest of my shit, running out the house.
“Mylo, I can’t believe you.” My mother screamed.
“Fuck her, she ain’t no sister of mine. Sisters don’t look down on each other, and that bitch think she better than me. I hate her! You bitch! You dead to me! Amara’s more of my sister than you’ll ever be!” Mylo screamed at me as I walked out the door.
Just from the thought of all of that, I started to drive off, but I felt bad. When my father came home, we sat down and accomplished absolutely nothing, aside from us being cordial and her always calling me when she needed something. I should at least make sure she’s okay. I got out, grabbing my purse and walking inside the building. My phone was ringing. It was my father calling again. I didn’t answer, I just made my way to where they were. I went up to the second floor that they told me she was on, and I walked into the room. She was all banged up, but sound asleep. Before I could even say anything, my dad was pulling me out of the room. As soon as we made it into the hallway, my mother hugged me, while my father scowled at me.
“She said she called you.” He started.
“Yeah, she did. But-” I started.
“Ain’t no motherfucking buts. Look at your baby sister in the hospital bed. She called you to help, and you hung up the fucking phone on her? For what reason?” He yelled.
“Ali, lower your tone in this hospital.” My mother snapped.
“I’m not gon’ lose another one of my kids. That’s some bullshit you pulled, and don’t let it fucking happen again. I don’t give a fuck what you got going on, we’re family, and family comes first, period.” He snapped and walked back in the room where Mylo was at. My mother opened her mouth to speak, and I just tossed my hands up, and walked back toward the elevator.
“Lee, Yanni. Where are you going?” My mother called out to me. I hurriedly pressed the button to close the elevator doors, and held back the tears that were threatening to spill at any moment. I had long ago learned how to hold everything in, and just become numb to the bullshit. I walked right back out to my car and floored it all the way home. I was tired of being stressed out all the time. I got in the shower and handled my hygiene before getting out.
When I got out, I sat on my bed to lotion up, and when I put on my night gown, I walked passed my closet, and my black and gold marble suitcase shined brightly, capturing my attention. My mind started working on overload. I thought about how I barely knew Kentrell, and how logically, I shouldn’t even be considering what I was thinking, but I did need a vacation. Before I knew it, my finger’s had a mind of their own, and I was searching for my phone and dialing his number. It was going on one in the morning, but he answered as if he was wide awake.
“Wassup, beautiful? You alright?” He answered.
“You still want some company in Cali?” I asked, holding my breath waiting on his response. I was in dire need of a vacation, and it was the perfect opportunity to get to know Kentrell better. I would get my separate room, so I wouldn’t be faced with any temptation, and we’ll be fine.
EIGHTEEN
KEN
“I don’t think this is a lucrative place for you. They sent me over their paperwork, and after going through, and us meeting with them, I’m telling you to pass up on the business idea. This is their busiest day, and it’s dead as a door knob in here.” Joy explained to me. I nodded.
“I agree, so go ahead and tell them I decided not to invest. What’s up on the rap label?” I asked.
“You have a meeting in an hour. I guess they want to showcase their talent, but I’m telling you right now, the music industry is a completely different ball game.” She advised. I nodded and agreed with her.
If it wasn’t no shit that knocked me off my feet, then I was walking. Aside from that, they had a good hour of my time, because Yanni decided to fly in behind me today, and I had a car to go get her and take her to the condo I owned in Cali. We both had our own rooms, but I was excited as fuck that she actually said yeah. I hadn’t been able to fuck with her like I wanted to, because I had been chasing this bag. But I was chilling after this trip and focusing on my already full plate.
I left the meeting gladly, cause all the artist they had signed, were fucking trash. I wasn’t in the business of wasting my money, so I walked. I got back to the condo and headed inside the building. I got off the elevator and used the key to walk in the condo. She still wasn’t here, but as soon as I was about to call her, I got a call from the front desk down stairs saying she was there. I told them to let her up and I met her at the elevator. I grabbed her bag and her suitcase.
“Wassup, beautiful?” I hugged her.
“Hey, Ken. I’m sorry, I’m running behind, but the flight was delayed.” She started.
“Oh nah, you good. I’m glad you here.” I told her.
“Me too, I needed the vacation.” We walked in the door.
“Come on in and relax. I’mma show you your room.” I told her. She smiled hugely, looking at the balcony and how big her room was.
“Wow, I love it. It’s beautiful.” She smiled.
“I thought so too.” I told her.
“So, I can get settled while you handle your business. I actually think I’mma go check out The Fleet Science Center. I saw something online, things I could do while you’re busy. I don’t wanna be a burden.” She smiled. She was so damn sweet and beautiful.
“I’m actually done for the day, so I’ll tag along with you to the science center, if you don’t mind.” I told her.
“Oh, I really don’t. I thought you would still be busy.” She shrugged.
“Alright, well let me change, and then I’ll be ready.” I told her.
“Okay.”
After I threw on some casual shit, we headed out. We decided to grab an Uber, since we were gonna get some drinks and food after the science center. We ended up at the Barefoot Bar and Grill. The more shots she took, the more relaxed she was. She had been uptight around me the entire time, barely talking and shit.
“I think this our last drink for the night.” I told her, taking her shot away.
“Well, then you drink it, because we can’t waste it.” She said, with her low eyes. I tossed it back and she
laughed.
“Why do I feel like you still so uptight with me?” I asked.
“You’re a very attractive man, everything about you is all a woman could ask for. I just feel like why my plain Jane ass? Like, you’re obviously a man with a lot of options, but you seem interested in me. I’m just trying to figure out what’s your ulterior motive.” She admitted.
“What if there isn’t one?” I asked.
“Huh?” She asked.
“What if there is no ulterior motive? What if I just genuinely like what I see, and want to get to know you better?” I asked.
“I don’t know.” She stated, quietly.
“Well, if you not gon’ try, then ain’t no need in wasting our time. I’m sure you’ve been hurt in the past and I have too, but that’s not for me to take out on you. I’m not yo ex, and you not mine.” I told her. She nodded, not responding. I paid the bill and we headed out. We caught an Uber back to the condo. I had the condo loaded with snacks and I was about to roll up.
“Movie night?” She asked.
“Why not?” I told her.
“I’mma shower and put some PJ’s on, I feel hot and sticky. You pick the movie.” She walked off.
I scrolled through Netflix and shit, coming up empty. I couldn’t find shit, but I got up to go shower and shit too, so I could smoke a blunt and chill. I had finished before her and grabbed some snacks out the cabinet. I grabbed my shit I needed to roll up and started rolling up as she came around the corner. I smelled her before I saw her, and she smelled good enough to eat, instantly having a nigga on brick.
“I see you didn’t find nothing.” She sat on the far end of the couch.
“Nah, I didn’t.” I told her. She shrugged and scrolled through and turned on How to get away with murder.
“What the hell is this?” I asked. She laughed at me.
“It’s not as bad as you think it is.” She smiled. I sat there and watched it for a minute, and the shit was decent.
“You ever thought about murdering somebody?” She asked. I chuckled, little did she know.
“Nah.” I wasn’t lying.
