  Rain rolled her eyes. “Clearly.”

“You acting like I’m looking at the girl because I want to fuck or something.”

Rain scooted to the edge of the seat. “I’m not looking like that, you are.” She got up and walked to the bathroom.

She hated when her jealousy showed, but she couldn’t help it when it came to him. He brought that side out of her. Rain knew she was a pretty woman, but naturally when her man was looking at another woman who differed from her in more ways than one, she got self-conscious. After using the bathroom and washing her hands she left back out of the bathroom.

She took a deep breath and tried to rid herself of her attitude, only for it to return right back when she bent the corner. Instead of sitting down in the booth, he was now standing near the slides talking to her. Rain could have set the whole building on fire with just her eyes as mad as she was.

“Why must he try me?” Rain asked herself while walking back to her booth.

As soon as she sat down, Summer and Alex made it that much worse, with Summer leading it. “Who is that?”

“And why she got to touch his arm every time she laughs?” Alex rolled his eyes.

“I don’t know, but he’s begging to get slapped.”

The three of them sat in the corner talking about Love and the way he was carrying on with the girl. Ten minutes had passed by the time Love decided to bring his ass back to the table. He tapped Rain’s leg so she could stand up and let him slide in, but all he got was his hand slapped. Rain had hit his hand off of her before she knew it.

  “Damn, what’s wrong with you?”

Rain ignored him and looked out at the children who were running around playing.

“I know you hear me talking to your ass.”

  Again, she ignored him.

Rain did her best to act like she didn’t hear him while he stood in front of her talking. The girl and Fallon were now standing where she and Love had just been standing. They were talking and smiling at Jazz as he played.

“You know what? Rain, get your ass up.” He grabbed her by her arm. Not forcefully, but firm. “Come on.” He looked at Summer and Alex. “Y’all can bring y’all asses too.”

“You her man, not ours.” Summer stood from the seat with Alex following.

Love practically dragged Rain over to where Fallon and the woman were standing. “Aye Fallon, we’re about to dip.”

  “Dang, already?” she asked.

“Yeah. Rain got some shit she needs to take care of.”

Rain watched the girl look her up and down. It felt good to see the envious look she gave her when her eyes landed back on Rain’s face. That was victory was short lived though because Love was back to pulling her toward the door. When they got outside, he told Summer and Alex she was riding with him and headed for his truck.

He hit the locks on the key fob and unlocked the doors. Rain was headed to the front seat when he pulled her to the back. He opened the door and made her get in.

“You want to act like a child, get your ass in the back.”

Rain stood defiantly with her arms folded across her chest. “Nigga, you got me fucked up.”

“Oh, I do?” Love raised his eyebrow at her before picking her up and sitting her in the backseat.

As soon as she was in, he hopped in behind her. When the door was closed, he hit the button on his key ring to lock the door again. Without saying another word to her, he pushed his shorts down around his ankles and grabbed the bottom of her face.

“Look at me and listen. You are the only woman my dick gets hard for. Do you hear me?” He snatched her hand from her lap and placed it on his growing wood.

She tried to pull away, but he wasn’t having it. “Nah. Hold that shit until you learn that it only gets hard when you’re around.”

Rain felt like a sex crazed fool as she sat in the back seat of his truck holding his dick in her hand.

“Okay, I got it now,” she mumbled.

“Nah, you don’t, but you’re about to.” Love grabbed her and sat her on his lap. The dress she was wearing worked in his favor.

He was able to pull her thong off and slid into her with no trouble. He groaned as soon as she enveloped him fully. Rain sat still, trying to adjust herself to his girth at the angle she was in. His truck was big and very roomy, but his legs were up pretty far, being that they were so long.

“Ride this dick, Rain.” He slapped her hard on her butt. “It’s yours. You want to act all crazy about it and shit, then ride it like it belongs to you.”

Rain’s eyes rolled into the back of her head as she began to move her body up and down on him. She was still trying to hold on to her attitude, but that slowly dissipated. The more she moved, the better it felt.

“Now, next time you want to act crazy, you better do it on this dick.” Love kissed her lips hard. “I ain’t got no time for that crazy shit. You hear me?”

Rain nodded her head. Love’s hands moved around her body, touching and groping in certain areas. He had her feeling so good she felt like she was losing her mind when she reached her climax.

  “Ohh Kota,” she moaned.

He pounded deeper inside of her until he reached his climax as well. When they had both calmed down, he grabbed her face and kissed her passionately.

“I love you, baby doll. Just you. Don’t wild out like that for nothing.”

  “I love you too.”

“Good. Now pull your dress down so we can go home.” Love smiled at her and kissed her again before pushing her off his lap.

The two of them quickly got themselves together before getting in the front seat of his truck and pulling off.

  Chapter 5: Crazy in Love

Alex sat in his salon chair spinning around. He had finished all of his clients for the day and was getting ready to go. He was trying his best to wait on Summer to call him back before he left, but she was taking too long. They had decided to go out for drinks once he got off, but he was about to bail on her.

Knowing her, she’d probably ditched him to go somewhere with Jacorey. She acted like she couldn’t shake that nigga. Alex looked at the clock on his cell phone again before he stood from his chair and began cleaning his station. The other stylists that worked with him were busy doing either hair or makeup.

He made conversation with them as he cleaned up and gathered his stuff. When he finished, he grabbed his bottle of water from the counter and his purse from beneath his cabinet, and told everyone he would see them later. He walked to his truck and hit the locks to get in. When he got to his door, he noticed Troy’s car next to his.

He looked to be busy playing with the radio until he saw Alex. He scrambled from his front seat and around the back of his car so that he was standing in front of Alex. He looked a little nervous as he stuck his hands in his pockets.

  “You look nice today.”

Alex looked past him. “Thank you. What you doing here?”

  “I miss you.”

“Where the little bitch you had with you at the mall?”

Troy looked at the passing cars. “I don’t love him. I love you.”

  “Ain’t that sweet.”

Troy grabbed Alex’s hand. “I’m serious. I want you. I’ve tried waiting until you came around, but it’s taking you too long.”

Troy laughed until Alex joined in. Alex pushed the long braid he had in his hair over his shoulder. “What you about to do?”

  “You really want to know?”

  Alex nodded.

“I was invited to church by a guy I work with. They’re having bible study tonight. I was hoping you would go with me.”

  “You serious?”

Troy told him he was, and Alex had to look at him for a while to see if he saw any signs of lies. When he didn’t, he sighed and shook his head.

  “Nah, I don’t know.”

“Just come on, Alex. He promised the people from his church aren’t judgmental.”

“You not sleeping around with this bo
y are you?”

Troy gave Alex a look, letting him know that he should have known better than to ask that.

Alex shrugged. “I had to ask… yeah, I’ll go with you.”

Troy smiled and told Alex he would follow him to his house to drop his truck off and that he could just ride with him. They got into their vehicles and left Alex’s job. Alex wasn’t too sure how this was going to go, but he was willing to give it a try. He had been wanting to go for a while now, but he wasn’t sure. Troy coming along to invite him was the perfect opportunity.

When he got to his house, he decided to change. Instead of wearing the tight black jeans and low cut fitted shirt he’d worn to work, he changed into a pair of male slim fit Levi’s and plain white T-shirt. He slid his feet into his low top white converse and left his house. His long French braid was cool, he just hoped no one stared at him for too long. He could do a couple of stares here and there, but he hated when people watched him like he was some sort of spectacle.

Troy smiled at him when he got into the car. “You changed?”

“Yeah. I didn’t want any extra attention.”

“It’s going to be cool. I don’t think you have anything to worry about.”

  “Let’s hope not.”

They talked and got a reacquainted as they drove to the church. Alex couldn’t even pretend like he hadn’t missed Troy. Their conversation was flowing so easily it almost made him forget that he had just caught him with someone else a few weeks ago. Not that he had the right to be mad anyway.

By the time they pulled up to the church, he was relaxed and ready. Troy assured him everything would be okay again before they entered the building. Troy’s friend was waiting for them at the door and greeted them with a big smile and a hug as soon as they entered. He expressed how happy he was that they had decided to come, and led them into the sanctuary.

Like he expected, people turned around and looked at him. What he didn’t expect was the smiles they gave. Some even came over and hugged and him and Troy, welcoming them to the church. The kind gestures made him a little more comfortable, and he was able to enjoy the rest of the service.

The pastor preached on knowing who you are in your life so that you would know who you were in Christ. Alex felt that the word was a little intense, but he received it all. It was so easy for him to understand and follow. Unlike all of the other times he’d gone to church, he didn’t feel as if the pastor was condemning him.

He couldn’t count how many times he went to church and the pastor would mention something about being gay and how big of a sin it was during his prayer or his sermon. It always irritated Alex so bad that he was unable to focus, which caused his church visit to be in vain. This time was much different. Alex had enjoyed himself so much that he’d told Troy’s friend that he would be back on Sunday, and he had every intention of doing so.

“So how’d you like it?” Troy asked, as they walked to his car.

“I actually loved it. I’m serious about coming back.”

“Yeah, I think I’ma come back too. I’d like it a lot if we were able to come back together.”

Alex closed the car door and buckled his seatbelt. “I’d like that too, Troy.” He smiled when Troy smiled.

“You want to grab something to eat before I take you home?”

“Yes. Let’s go to TGI Fridays.”

Troy grabbed Alex’s hand and held it as he drove to the restaurant. When they got inside, they had a ten minute wait, so they sat in the corner of the waiting area and talked. Troy told Alex all about how he had met the boy from the store. He hadn’t wanted to, but Alex wasn’t taking no for an answer. Once he figured out that Troy really wasn’t serious with the boy, he softened up with the attitude.

He’d assumed they were an item, but Troy assured him that they weren’t. When the waitress came back, she showed them to a table in the bar area. They occupied one of the booths in the corner. Alex sat down and scooted into the booth. He looked up when he heard a group of men yelling.

There was a table of men staring at the big screen television hanging in the corner. The basketball game on had them all out of their seats. He had never been a sports fan, but Troy was. When he looked over, Troy’s eyes were glued to the TV as well. He took this time to look at the menu. Once he chose what he wanted, he looked around the room for the waitress.

His eyes scanned the room for her until they landed on Damien’s. Alex’s eyes bucked momentarily before continuing to scan the room. He tried his hardest to avoid Damien’s eyes, but he could feel them on him. When he looked back at him, he was still looking. He looked like he wanted to get up and choke him, but Alex already knew that wasn’t happening.

When he finally located the waitress, he waved her over. “Can I have a strawberry margarita please?”

“Certainly. Anything for you, sir?” She looked at Troy.

Troy was so busy looking at the game that he hadn’t paid the girl any attention.

“Troy. You hear this girl talking to you? What you getting to drink?”

“Oh, let me get a Corona please.”

“Sure thing. I’ll be right back with your drinks.” She took the menus and walked away.

Alex crossed his arms over the table and acted as if he didn’t still feel Damien’s eyes on him.

“I’m glad you came out with me.” Troy smiled across the table.

“So am I. It feels like old times, doesn’t it?”

“Hell yeah. When we were always happy.” Troy laughed and so did Alex.

Alex was about to say something but his phone beeped with a text. He already knew it was Damien before he even looked at the screen.

Mr. Undercover: The fuck you got going on?

Alex rolled his eyes and stuck his phone back into his purse. He wasn’t about to do this with Damien. He was out with Troy and having a good time. He wouldn’t allow Damien to ruin it like he always did.

“Troy, can I tell you something that I’ve been thinking about for a while?”

“Of course.” Troy leaned on the table so that he could hear Alex better.

“I’ve been battling with my sexuality lately. Not like I like women or anything, I just don’t know if being gay is right anymore.” Alex looked at Troy, making sure to watch his facial expressions. “I mean, I know it’s not right because my granny has been telling me for years, but like I really feel like I’m at a point in my life where it may be time for a change. Do you ever feel like that?”

Troy twisted his mouth to the side before nodding his head yes. “I’ve been thinking that for a few months now. It’s just so hard because I know what I like and what I’m attracted to, and it’s men. I’m sure if I gave it all that I’ve got I could probably try to change, but then I think of you and what we have and it’s hard.” Troy grabbed Alex’s hand. “I love you, and you’re supposed to be with someone you love, right?”

“I think so, but just because you love me doesn’t mean you can’t love a woman one day just as much.”

Troy sat back as the waitress set their drinks on the table. He took a long swig of his Corona before looking back at Alex. “You think it’s possible for a gay man to love a woman too?”

Alex’s eyes darted over to Damien who was turned sideways in his chair before nodding his head yes. “I know it is.”

“So is that why you won’t be with me? Because you’re not sure if you want to be gay anymore?”

Alex drank some of his margarita before shrugging. “I don’t know about all of that.” He laughed. “I’m still very gay, I just feel like it may be time for me to try something else. I always feel so lost, and it wasn’t until I went to visit my granny the other day that I realized that this may be why.”

Alex looked at Troy, waiting for his feedback. This was one of the things that Alex missed about being with Troy. They were always able to have real conversations. Ones that held more weight than him begging him to leave his other woman or sex. Troy was always listening and ready to help Alex d
o whatever it was that he wanted to do. Like now, he was genuinely interested in what he was saying, while Damien was across the bar shooting daggers at him.

How was he with a group full of other niggas, but still making it his business to look in Alex’s direction? It was like that nigga didn’t care about being caught or something. Alex remembered a time where Damien would walk in the same room with him and act like he didn’t exist, but these days he was getting more and more careless.

“Excuse me for a minute, Troy, I need to use the restroom.”

“I’ll be here.” Troy smiled at Alex as he stood up and walked toward the back to the bathroom.

The drink and the four bottles of water he’d drank earlier had his bladder about to burst. Alex walked into one of the empty stalls and pulled his jeans down. He’d never been a fan of the urinals because they were too open. He liked his privacy. After he’d peed what felt like a river, he flushed the toilet and fixed his jeans.

Had he not just emptied his bladder he probably would have pissed all over himself again when he saw Damien standing at the door he was coming out of. Damien pushed him backwards back into the stall and closed it behind him. He looked angry, but that didn’t faze Alex. Damien was always mad with him about something.

“The fuck you doing here with that nigga?”

“You can’t be serious right now?”

  “Hell if I ain’t.”

Alex rolled his eyes. “Boy, don’t you have a group of your straight friends out there waiting on you? You better leave me alone before one of them come in here.”

Damien grabbed Alex’s arm and snatched him against him. “Don’t fuck with me. I’ll be over your house when I leave here. You better not have that nigga there.” He kissed Alex’s mouth roughly, before walking out of the bathroom.

Alex could taste the beer on his lips from Damien’s mouth. That nigga had really lost his mind. He was doing shit he never used to do. Like running the risk of getting caught with him. The old Damien would never put himself in that positon, but the one who had just left the bathroom was a new one; one that didn’t care about his secret anymore or something.

His behavior was starting to scare Alex. He had been saying stuff about being in love with him now and not being able to control his feelings, but he hadn’t taken Damien serious up until recently. His actions were proving to be that of a man in love. Alex washed his hands and went back to his table. When he sat down, he saw Damien looking at him again.
