Sweet Surprise

  “Sir, you can’t park there,” the security guard says as Micah carries me in.

  My husband doesn’t even look at him, just sets the car keys on the desk as we walk by and tells him, “Do with it what you must. My wife is in labor.” Within an hour, I’m pushing for the last time, our baby already as demanding as his or her daddy can be.

  “I’m your mommy,” I murmur as our son is placed on my chest after they clean and weigh him, tears blurring my vision as I stare at him while the staff finishes what they need to before giving us some privacy.

  “He’s beautiful,” Micah whispers reverently, his own eyes just as wet as mine. We’d decided to wait a while before trying, and when we were ready, it took another year to achieve it. We loved our baby the second the pregnancy test showed positive.

  Micah was over the moon, impatiently standing outside the bathroom while I took it, pouting because I wouldn’t let him in. He wanted to experience every minute of it, but I drew the line at watching me do that. I might not get away with it when we have our next child, though. He was so disappointed I had to soothe the beast, something we both very much enjoyed.

  His parents and mine have gone crazy spoiling the first grandchild, both trying to outdo the other. It’s all in good fun, of course, and now they’ve started teaming up, allowing their presents to be even more overboard. In fact, I’m shocked the Carmichael and Kamenev crews haven’t already begun making a fuss, determined to see the newest arrival.

  **Micah**

  “Should I put them out of their misery?” I ask my wife.

  “I would, otherwise, we might have a mutiny on our hands,” she jokes, but she probably isn’t far off. Texting the moms, knowing they’ll pass down the all clear faster than I can, I laugh as I put it away because Miles and Junie casually stroll in.

  Junie rushes forward, hands outstretched as she reaches for her nephew. I glance at Valentina and she nods, a tender smile on her face. She knows what I’m about to do as we’d made the decision shortly after discovering our family was expanding.

  Turning to our best friends, the brother and sister respectively of our hearts, I introduce our son for the first time, “Meet your godson, Misha Carmichael Kamenev.” Without shame, they both get mushy at the honor. We know all of our family members would love him as their own if something were to happen to us, but we wanted to do this. They’re snuggling Misha, appearing as if they’re prepared to fight lest someone attempt to take him. It may come to that because I hear the rest of our loved ones making their way toward us.

  My Baba’s voice is loud and clear as she states, “That malyshka is mine. I will make you regret it if you try to hold him first.” Various responses, all saying the same thing – they wouldn’t think of it – sound off, appeasing her. When she steps in and sees Milo and Junie cradling him, she shushes the others. I can see some of their expressions, the curiosity on it as they wonder what will happen, how she’ll handle being usurped on getting her hands on the baby. She shows them, though. Baba moves toward Valentina and hugs her, then me, before going to Junie’s side. She caresses Misha’s face, contentment on her own as she sees her great-grandson, and announces to the room, “I call dibs on holding the next one first.”

  Epilogue Two - Micah

  Ten years after meeting…

  “Hurry,” Valentina urges.

  “I’m in charge,” I remind her. “Unless you want me to stop.”

  “No!” She shouts, despite knowing there is no way in hell I’d pull out of her pussy. I never can. Once I get in there, I don’t leave it until I absolutely have to. With three kids, alone time is at a premium, so we’ve had to get creative and take some risks. Honestly, that last part only adds to the fun.

  With a pinch to her clit, I take her earlobe between my teeth and give it a nip, knowing it’s all she needs to go soaring. Filling her with my come, I collapse to the side, bringing her close, needing to feel her heart under my hand as I place it on her chest. Yes, we just had sex, but nothing reassures me as much as that beat against my palm.

  She is my air, a vital resource I need to keep living, just as our children have become. We continued the tradition of using Russian names, Valentina requesting that we do so and I can’t deny her anything. Misha is four and a half, Konstantin three, and our youngest and only daughter, Elizaveta, just turned one.

  Today is actually her birthday party, which means we need to get moving. Smacking my wife’s ass, I’m tempted to take her once more when she moans, but she jumps out of bed and rushes toward the bathroom. She’s been so excited about this, especially the princess theme part, as Elizaveta definitely is that in our eyes, and to all who know her.

  Rising, I chuckle when she glares at me, telling me, “You can’t shower with me.”

  “Why not?” I innocently ask, knowing I have no chance of pulling it off.

  “Because.”

  “That makes complete sense.” She huffs, but I see her smiling. Thank goodness she finds me adorable. Taking pity on both of us, knowing the temptation will cause us to fall behind, I use the other shower and we meet up again a few minutes later in our room to get dressed.

  When the guests begin showing around two, the backyard quickly fills up since there are so many. Not only my family and hers, but Milo and Junie, the godparents to all three of our children as we are to theirs, and the Brothers Graham, along with their respective wives and kids.

  Finding Valentina was a surprise, the sweetest of my life.
