Abby snorted, scanning the scene before her. Her friends and the warriors were all searching for hidden traps on the island, but what had Abby’s heart beating fast was the fact her father was close, she could feel their old connection slowly opening up again after years.
The scream of her father’s cat filled the quiet and sent a chill down Abby’s spine and tears rolled down her cheeks. Her father had found out the information through her connection, but he wasn’t the only one who cried out in agony.
Anca reached over hugging her, tears coming down her cheeks. “That is the saddest thing I’ve heard since we moved to our new home. I’ve never been one for destroying a species, but right now if I had the power, I can honestly say I wouldn’t feel much pain for doing it.”
“Agreed,” Abby said, watching as River came towards them carrying a female in his arms. Hell, many of the warriors were carrying women out of what appeared to be traps in the ground. Abby memorized everything she saw knowing later she would dissect what she was witnessing. “Lan?” she questioned, not seeing her father.
“Quinn has him,” Lan said, standing next to the thing she was encased in and pointed to the left.
Her father was skinny with scars on his chest and one that ran down his cheek. He approached her, allowing Quinn to help him move.
“Daddy,” she whispered, but he heard her, lifting his head. His gaze met hers and she would have fallen to the ground, but Lan was there lifting her out of the thing, holding onto her.
“He has one good eye and will heal physically,” Lan informed her, rubbing his cheek on the top of her head as Quinn walked to them.
Lan lowered her feet to the ground and she stepped forward, carefully hugging her dad, crying. But as she looked over her father’s shoulder, her friends, and crew-sisters were also hugging, holding onto people, and crying. She stepped back and looked over at Lan. “Was Maya’s sister here?”
“Yes, but she’s not in good shape. River has her on the ship. He believes the ship will soothe her as it does you. Maya and her brothers are there with her too. Let’s get your father inside.” Lan said.
“Abby, your mother, Linda Sue?” her father, Ike, asked, as his voice cracked, a whisper of the strong voice she had heard as a child.
Abby glanced at her father. “She died quickly, saving us. Agatha was killed by these things a year ago, but my brother is alive and you’ll see him soon, I’m sure. But come, Daddy, let’s get you on the ship.” she said, allowing Quinn to help her father move towards the ship.
Tasmin came up to her side. “My brother is here, most of us have found a little piece of our family because of you and your sister.” Tasmin hugged her tight. “Where ever you settle, we will follow, Abby.”
“Now, we help them heal if we can,” Abby said, watching Quinn help her father onto the ship, with the others. Three other ships from Quinn’s city were being loaded with survivors of this nightmare.
Lan wrapped an arm around her. “I’ve made sure Ramiro and Cedric take note of everything that has been done here. We will break it all down when we get everyone safe,” Lan informed her and Tasmin as they walked toward the ship. Damin stood on the deck waiting, and sure enough the minute he held his arms open, her friend disappeared into them.
“Lan, is Damin a warrior?” Abby asked.
Lan smiled. “Yes, and soon Tasmin will meet the other three of her mates.”
Tasmin’s head swung around and glared at Lan before swinging back to Damin. “Four! No way!” her friend screamed and Abby couldn’t help but smile, knowing it was going to be fun to watch her friend deal with four men.
She glanced over at Quinn and his fathers as they helped her father and the others. Yes, these warriors, her men were special. We found him, Aggie, I love you. Abby whispered, looking out to sea at the same time, placing her hand on her stomach.
Another cat from Maya’s sisters now had a family of their own, something not one of them ever believed would happen. Abby smiled, remembering the pledge that her men had read to her a few months ago.
A Warriors Bonding Pledge, they had called it.
Time has no meaning.
We stand alone, waiting for that light that was meant to be ours.

Harbor Woods: New Compound is in Detroit
Gwelings: A lizard-like creature that can change color. Smells like rotten eggs. They’re taking a certain type of human and shifter women with a certain bloodline for breeding, which ends up killing the woman when the thing is ready to be born. They can’t be away from something called Disha. They need this to survive.
Ebony Glades: Eight different species living on this planet in peace, but also were hiding.
Orak: Master of the family-Husband. Won by a competition, bloody and sexual.
Gulls: Form of creature from another world- - they eat anything in sight, have six eyes, and scales like that of a snake, but their skin is three times tougher. Their size, standing on their hind legs is around four feet, but their teeth are razor-like and poisonous.
New Barony: Planet-walls were dark green in the ground, walls diamonds everywhere, used for light. Their world is underground, dangerous creatures above ground, temps range from very cold at night to below to days where could reach in the suns. There are two blue suns.
Highash: creatures on the planet.
Murkleaf: creatures from the realm-Spirits Fief-they are green and black, covered in a slime that once touched on human skin burns like acid. Their eyes are dark purple and almost hard to see, but what is most deadly is that the leaf-like skin can cut through any surface except for metal.
Tetraheros: a race that created the Cometedge. Only in times of need do they appear, but not in body only in the mind. Some believe they are the gods that created all.
Comet Chillers: they stand around seven feet tall, scale-like skin, two cocks that grew to be close to be at least a foot in length and the width that would tear any human woman apart. Both male and female can mate with anyone. They are a very sexual race, but stupid.
Ranr Volun: Pig headed.
Sora: Mother.
Zester: Father.
Meru: female mate.
Weru: male mate.

Cometedge: warriors of the gates.

Doyens: the elders, Cometedge.
The Cometedge Pact: In the time of extinction, a group of women, also on the verge of dying out, will be imprinted. This imprint will allow both races to survive. They will join together, each created for the other. So, they, the Cometedge, will never face the lonely battle of Knights of the Gates. The knights suffer much, but with this compact, their burden will be lightened by the light of their bonded. Only from this pact will it allow both species to survive a
nd flourish, becoming one.

Gabby curled up in a ball, watching the man in the bed, Ike Abby called him. They had been on the ship for a day and he had slept most of it, but even from what she had seen while helping Abby with Ike, he was a true warrior.
Even after being a prisoner for so long the man still had a spark of life in him, even though he was mourning his wife and daughter.
“You know, Gabby, I can’t thank you enough for helping me and coming with me to Quinn’s city. I guess even I’m a little nervous about that. Won’t you shift back so we can talk?” Abby asked her and she sighed, doing what Abby asked.
Abby was one of her true friends, and there was no way she’d not help her, but the fates were playing a game with her again, giving Abby’s father, Ike, as a mate, which would also mean, like Abby, Gabby would have four men.
Even the thought of such a thing scared the living crap out of her. Hell, having one man was nerve racking. Would Ike see her as a freak as so many did growing up, because her cat features showed even in human form?
As far as cats went, Gabby was the smallest of Maya’s girls. Sometimes Gabby even felt like a mouse among her friends. She was so different.
“That is so much better. How have you been, Gabby? Did you ever find any of your family?” Abby asked, sitting on her father’s bed, staring down at him.
He turned his head, his good one eye, a dark blue stared at her and Gabby shivered at the intense emotions playing in them. “No, they are truly hiding, but my father was always good at that. I was the one who screwed up all the time.” She shrugged. “Maybe it’s best, because I always screwed things up for them when I was around. You know I stick out like a sore thumb.”
Gabby flinched, hearing the deep growl coming from the bed. “Never speak of yourself like that again,” Ike said.
She looked up at Abby, who was smiling at her, then Gabby glanced back down at him and nodded. “Sorry,” she whispered.
He turned his gaze back to his daughter. “Abby, would you go grab me a bottle of water please,” Ike sat up and scooted back in the bed, his back now resting on the back of the ship.
Without a word Abby left, leaving her alone with Ike, her mate. Gabby’s stomach tightened, her palms grew damp. She’d only been alone with him before when he was sleeping.
“Come here, Gabby,” Ike said, holding out his hand, before turning to stare at her. “I didn’t expect this, but it would seem I have a second chance and this time I will not leave my woman unprotected,” he snarled.
