Silver

A few of the females who’d been present yesterday were back today and they kept staring at the door leading to the kitchen. Their eyes continuously darted from their food to the kitchen door then to the diner entrance.

They were looking for Silver. So was she. She hoped he’d ignore her demand that he search for work elsewhere and return to her diner to continue where they left off. So far morning rush was almost over and he hadn’t shown up.

When lunchtime ended and he still hadn’t appeared, Malia began to feel disappointed. That feeling increased whenever a female stopped her and asked if her new employee would be working today.

She kept her responses civil though on the inside she was screaming, bitch back off he’s mine. By the time she closed the diner, washed the dishes, cleaned the latrines and locked up, she knew she’d truly run him off.

She stalled in the kitchen, inventorying items that had already been inventoried. After that got boring she wiped the tables down one more time. It was a proven fact that some germs lived on surfaces for years. Rigorous cleaning would get rid of those nasty bugs.

Tables cleaner than they’d ever been, Malia walked over to the entrance and stared out into the night. Her skin didn’t tingle and the hairs on her nape didn’t rise. No use in stalling. He wasn’t coming. The sadness that washed over her was numbing.

What had she expected? This was the real world. She’d told him to stay away. She’d been prepared to contact the authorities if he’d kept showing up. She should be happy he listened to her. That proved he wasn’t a real stalker.

And yet, there she stood, wanting to see him again. Wanting to hear his deep voice and watch his eyes turn colors because he was aroused… by her, the curvy diner owner. The drive home felt like the longest drive ever. She didn’t even bother attempting to read a book before bed.

After a quick shower she slipped into a T-shirt and slid underneath her sheets, too tired to search through her drawer for a pair of panties. Panties could wait until morning. She was asleep within five minutes.

Who knew being upset over a male could make you so exhausted? Not too exhausted to dream about him though. As usual her dreams of Silver were erotic. He touched and kissed her in ways her body had never experienced in real life. Her dreams were so much better than real life. Her dreams contained him. Real life no longer did.

  ***

In her dreams, his black eyes held her captive as his hands roamed over her flesh, setting her body on fire. Each touch made her squirm and rub against him, wanting to be closer to him, needing more of him, so much more.

Their minds were in sync. He parted her legs and slid a finger over the heat at her center. Back arching, she raised her hips, hoping her movement would cause his finger to slip into her, filling her. She felt so empty, had felt this way for so long.

Malia was tired of spending her nights alone. She was tired of watching couples come into her diner and sit close together, whispering and laughing the way lovers do. She wanted someone to whisper sweet nothings in her ear.

She needed someone to make her feel alive again. And her ‘dream Silver’ was doing just that. He pinned her hips to the bed then moved lower until his face was hovering over her pussy. Malia twisted her hand in his locks and guided him in.

His tongue delved between her lips, drinking her in like she was hot cocoa and he’d been out in the cold for far too long. She would be his warmth and he would fill that empty space in her life.

Malia lifted her hips and rubbed against his tongue, giving him what he needed. His groans turned her on more, exciting her. She loved the way his hands gripped her thighs as he pulled her closer. She could feel her orgasm approaching.

Malia arched her back and screamed his name as her legs began to tremble.

  ***

It was time to kidnap his mate.

His eyes turned black the moment he misted into her bedroom. The sight that greeted him caused his mouth to water. Malia’s coverlet was on the floor, leaving her body exposed. And damn what a sight it was to behold.

The T-shirt she wore had rode up past her stomach leaving the bottom half of her visible to his piercing gaze. Her scent pulled him closer to the bed. With her eyes closed, she lifted her hips into the air, moaning while one hand cupped her sex.

She had not yet sensed his presence and he wasn’t ready for her to. Silver stopped at the foot of the bed and watched her body move up and down. Gritting his teeth, he flexed his fingers, telling himself to remain still.

Don’t pounce on her. Don’t shove her hand away from her pussy and replace it with his mouth. Damn he wanted to put his mouth on her pussy, had never yearned for something so much in his entire existence. Silver dug his nails into his palm, hoping the pain would calm him and dull the intensity of the mating pull.

He was here to steal her, not fuck her until her body wanted no one but him, until she was too weak to stand, until every step she took afterward made her think of him. Malia trailed her hand from her pussy upward, until she cupped her breast and gyrated against the air.

The scent of her arousal filled the room. He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, allowing her scent to fill him. The hairs on his neck rose, the pull demanded it’s due. If she kept this up he would be fucking her in five seconds.

He opened his eyes and forced his mind away from sex. That would come later, when they were on his ship, in his private chambers, alone. Knowing that he would embarrass her but having no choice but to make his presence known, Silver called out to his mate.

  “Malia.”

No response. Unless you called her sticking her finger, the same finger she’d had on her pussy, into her mouth and sucking it. Fuck. He was ready to come. Silver licked his lips and tried again to get her attention.

“Malia,” he called, this time louder. And still her eyes remained closed. Strange. Silver moved to the head of the bed and leaned over his mate. “Malia,” he whispered then held his breath in an attempt to not breath in her delicious scent.

“Silver,” she muttered, eyes still shut, voice groggy. “Damn it I need you.”

  She was sleeping.

His body tingled. His mate was dreaming of him. His gaze followed her finger as it trailed back down between her legs. She sank one finger into her body. He groaned as he watched her finger herself.

His mate was dreaming of him.

That meant she did feel the connection between them. A surge of happiness washed over him followed by a new wave of desire. He would not wake her, would allow her to finish this dream. But he would watch, would learn what she liked.

Unable to help himself, he slipped his hand inside his pants and grasped his cock. It was hot, hard, pulsing. She moaned his name again and he gripped himself tighter and stroked to the same rhythm she fingered herself.

Her finger moved faster. He stroked himself faster, harder. Her back bowed off the bed. Her breaths quickened. With his free hand, Silver gripped the headboard for balance, his hips thrusting into his fist.

He wanted to watch her come. Wanted to see her fingers coated with her essence. He wanted to taste her, to have her pussy tighten around his tongue as her thighs pressed against his face and her hips rose to meet his mouth.

Damn, he was about to come.

He pumped harder. Her lips parted, eyes flashed open. Seconds later she screamed his name and he came all over the side of her bed and on her floor. Her hand fell away from her body and her breaths began to regulate.

His breathing only sped up. His cock jerked, hardening again. The mating pull was not satisfied. He needed to be inside of her. Wouldn’t be truly fulfilled until her heat was wrapped around him.

Her body tensed and she glanced in his direction. He could’ve misted, making himself invisible to her. He chose not to. She was horny. He was her mate. It was his job to satisfy her, not only in her dreams but in reality. Reality was so much better.

“What the hell are you doing here?” Her voice was low, eyes still glazed from her orgasm. He
saw the moment when reality set in. Her cheeks reddened. “Oh my gosh. What are you doing here?”

She jerked her shirt down, attempting to shield herself from him. Too late. He’d already seen most of her. He wanted to see more.

“Let me satisfy you,” Silver told her.

“What? No.” She reached for her coverlet and grasped nothing but air. “Where is my cover?”

Crawling to the foot of the bed she stretched to the ground and grabbed her cover, bent over, ass in the air for him to see. Silver growled and climbed onto the bed. He needed to taste her. NOW. She turned around and saw him on his knees behind her.

“Let me taste it, Malia. I can please you.”

“No! What the hell is wrong with you?” She wrapped the cover around her body. “How did you get in? How do you know where I live?”

Her eyes drifted below his waist. His hand was still gripping his hard cock. Her lips parted, a gasp escaping as her chest rose and fell.

  “You’re…” she swallowed. “You’re hard.”

  “For you. Only you.”

He stroked his length. Damn, did this make him a perv? He didn’t know and the mating pull didn’t care. Her hand reached forward. It felt like the world was moving in slow motion. Was she about to touch him?

Releasing himself, he came to his knees and pushed his hips forward, meeting her halfway. Her hand lingered near his cock. He prayed to the stars she would touch it. He would probably come again from just one rub.

Just when he thought he would come from her staring at it, she jerked her hand away. Shaking her head, she climbed off the bed, nearly falling in her haste to be away from him.

  “Malia…”

“No,” she raced to the bedroom door. “You stay there,” she called over her shoulder. “Damn it, I left my phone,” he heard her mumble. “Bathroom, that’s where I need to go. How did he break in? What was the point in buying that damn high tech security system if a stalker can still get in? I told Luna technology wasn’t as good as it’s hyped up to be. But no one ever listens to the Outlander.”

Stalker? Him? No, he was her mate, her other half and he was there to kidnap her. Yeah, that really didn’t make him much better than a stalker. Wait, did she say phone? Silver climbed off the bed.

He couldn’t have her calling the authorities. Silver shoved himself into his pants and straightened his clothes as he walked from the room into a dimply lit hallway. Which way did she go? He stilled and listened.

“Damn it, what’s the password,” he heard her whisper.

Silver turned left. He twisted the knob on the door. Locked.

  “Oh, it’s 513.”

He tightened his hand around the knob, crushing it, then shoved the door open. Her eyes widened and she dropped the phone. A second ticked away and neither of them moved or spoke, they simply stared at each other.

“Shit,” she mumbled breaking the silence. Malia turned to a panel on the back wall. She pulled the panel open revealing a key pad.

  She had an escape pod.

“Don’t you dare open that,” Silver shouted.

She did, typing in her code and causing the door to the escape pod to begin opening. Silver misted to her side and wrapped his hand around her wrist, halting her progress. He pressed cancel launch on the panel while his mate struggled to be free of him.

“Let me go. What the hell are you doing?” She yelled. “You broke into my house. Now you’re assaulting me.”

She leaned away from him, trying to pull free. That was not happening. She clenched her free hand into a fist and pulled her arm back. She wouldn’t dare. She couldn’t even see him.

  She did dare.

The blow connected with his chin. Silver rematerialized. The hit didn’t faze him. He grabbed her other wrist. Her strength was surprising the hell out of him. She lifted her knee. He twisted his body to the side before she could hit her mark.

“Damn it, Malia, stop fighting me.”

“Why the hell would I do that, you psycho? And to think, I actually missed you today.”

  Silver froze. “You did.”

Mistake. She kneed him in the groin. He doubled over but didn’t release her. The pain travelled up to his stomach making him nauseous. Enough of this. Silver wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close.

She gasped, her hair falling over her forehead. “What are you doing?”

“I’m done fighting with you.” He pushed her hair behind her ear, so he could stare into her eyes. “Malia Valdese, you’re coming with me.”

He misted, rendering them both invisible. Invisibility didn’t prevent him from feeling the pain of her teeth sinking into his shoulder. Damn his mate was full of fight.

  She was perfect for him.

  Chapter Eight

One bite and then she passed out.

Silver rematerialized on the bridge of the ship where the stasis chambers were located to find Epsilon sitting on the floor in front of his chamber. The male had cords and wires spread out in front of him. He cast a quick glance in Silver’s direction before looking once more at his project.

“What did you do to your mate?” Ep asked him as his fingers quickly assembled whatever the hell he was working on.

“I have no idea.” Silver strode over to his own chamber. He opened the unit and carefully placed his mate inside. “She passed out on our way over here.”

“Did you mist the whole way here?”

He had. But that shouldn’t have knocked her out. “I did.”

“It was her first time, perhaps she passed out from shock.”

“Maybe.” But he had to be sure. “Striker, run a diagnostic on my mate.”

  “Scanning.”

“How’s the boy?” Silver asked Ep. When he’d left tonight, the child had been asleep outside of Ep’s stasis chamber, refusing to move an inch away from the still unconscious female.

“I put him in my bed so he could get a full night’s rest. He still hasn’t talked yet.”

  “He will. I hope.”

“He’s wary of us. Once he realizes we mean him no harm, he will open up to us and tell us what we need to know.”

“Scan complete. Your mate is experiencing the mating pull.”

“What?” Both Silver and Ep exclaimed.

“How is that possible?” Silver asked the computerized host. “She’s not a Dweller.”

“I detect that bodily fluids have been exchanged.”

Silver, a male who’d never blushed in his life, could feel his face heating. He could also feel Ep’s eyes on him.

  “You slept with her?”

“No, she bit me and broke skin.”

“Shit, she bled you. That doesn’t happen until the final stage of the mating ritual.”

“Apparently my mate didn’t want to wait until the final stage. Striker, why is she unconscious?”

“She was not ready for the blood exchange.”

“But there was no exchange. I didn’t drink for her.”

“There is a ninety-nine percent chance that your statement is false. Scanning.”

“Who the hell are you scanning?” Silver yelled, anger and frustration coursing through him.

  “You, captain Sebastian.”

  “Why?”

“To detect traces of your mate’s DNA in you. They are there, though the exchange didn’t occur today. Scanning.”

  “Shit,” Silver muttered.

“What the hell have you done?” Ep asked him.

“Nothing.” A lie. Now was not the time to tell his friend that he’d visited his mate once before and saved her life. “Striker stop scanning me and focus on my mate.”

“But captain, I find this fascinating. It appears your mate’s DNA has been in you for…”

“Striker, shut the fuck up and scan my mate again.”

  “Scanning.”

Silver could still feel Ep staring at him. “It’s a long story.”

“And I’m trying to fix the wires on my mate’s… on th
e stranger’s cryo chamber, I have all night.”

“You’re putting her back in her chamber?”

“No. If something happens, I will need something to get in since she and I both can’t survive in my chamber. I may be immortal but I’d still rather be in my chamber than thrown from the ship if we crash.”

“That’s another thing I can’t figure out. How was both she and the boy able to survive in one cryo? I know the child didn’t need food, but he needed oxygen. He’s more Precept than Dweller.”

“A question we won’t have an answer too until she wakes up, or until I fix the chamber and see what it’s capable of.”

  “Scan complete.”

“So why is my mate unconscious?”

“Her body is in a form of stasis, awaiting the rest of the mating ritual.”

  “Shit, shit, shit.”

Epsilon chuckled. “I told you this mating business was no joke.”

“No, you told me this mating business wasn’t worth the trouble.”

  “Same thing.”

Silver returned his attention to his mate. She looked so peaceful in his stasis chamber. Her short hair was in disarray on her head, she was clad in only a coverlet and T-shirt. Wait, she only had on a fucking coverlet and T-shirt.

He could hear the steps of the rest of the crew heading in their direction. Silver opened the stasis chamber. “Striker, will my mate be okay outside of the stasis chamber?”

“Yes, captain. As long as you finish the ritual before thirty-six hours are up.”

Silver stalled with his mate in his arms. Staring up at the ceiling he asked, “What happens in thirty-six hours?”

  “Nothing.”

  “Good.”

  “If you finish the ritual.”

Gritting his teeth, he repeated his question in a different way, “What happens in thirty-six hours if I haven’t completed the ritual?”

He didn’t want to force the ritual on his mate, and damn sure didn’t want to do it with her unconscious. But if that was what it took to save her life he would do it and spend the rest of his existence begging her forgiveness.
