“Not even close to what I can do to you.” He moved up behind me and rubbed his cock down the curve of my ass slowly. “Lift your hips some, Aubrey.”

I pressed my forearms into the bed and arched my back as he hovered over the top of me and pressed into me a little. A groan left both of us, and I dropped my head down to rest against the bed.

“You know I care about you, right?” He moved back to his knees and tugged at my waist, pulling me up to my knees.

“Yes. Why?” I glanced back as he lifted up and pressed deep inside of me.

“I’m gonna fuck you like I don’t. Just remember I do. A lot.” He slid his hands up my back as I moaned deep in my chest at his words. “Tell me if it’s too much.”

“More,” I mumbled and moved back, taking more of him inside of me.

“That’s my girl.” He lifted up and slammed into me, rocking me forward with the power of his thrust.

“Fuck,” I whined as he gripped my ass and started to thrust fast and hard. Pleasure like I’d never experienced before shut down my thoughts and dragged me into a pool of depravity where his greedy-ass hands and thick cock were all that mattered.

“You take me so good. You should see how fucking beautiful this is.” He ran a hand up my back and gripped my shoulder hard as he continued to stroke himself with my body. “You’re getting close, aren’t you?”

I whimpered as the air seemed so hard to breathe. I wanted to scream “yes,” but I couldn’t seem to do anything but hold on to the sheets as his thrusts pushed me up the bed farther and farther.

He pressed himself deep inside of me and bucked a little as he released my ass and bent over the top of me, pressing his chest against my back as his hand took turns with my breasts.

“Come for me. Come hard.” He brushed his lips over the top of my back before pressing his teeth into me and rocking against me harder.

A cry ripped from me as I pushed up to my hands and jerked forward, needing the friction of his thrusts again to take myself over the edge with intensity. He gave me every bit of what I was looking for and encouraged me with the most delicious promises.

I slid my hands out in front of me and pressed my cheek to the wet sheet beneath me as sweat raced down my back.

“How can I live without you after this? You’ve damned me, haven’t you, you wicked woman?” He popped my ass softly, and I smiled, unable to help myself.

“You haven’t seen anything yet.” I pressed back as he chuckled and worked himself into orgasm in several slow, deep thrusts. He stiffened as he groaned my name, and I took over our sex, lifting up and curving my spine to roll along his need with tight efficiency.

“Shit.” He gripped my hips and jerked me back. “No more. No more.”

“More.” I glanced over my shoulder and rocked against him as he growled low in his chest. “That makes me want to fuck harder, Lucas.”

“Note to self.” He pulled out and rubbed his hands over my back before getting off the bed and disappearing into the bathroom.

I dropped down on the sheet and let out a content sigh.

“Here, baby.” He handed me a cool, wet washcloth and crawled up in bed next to me, pulling me to snuggle against his side when I was finished cleaning up.

“I like these kind of naps.” I ran my hand over his sexy abs and kissed the side of his chest.

“Me too, but only when you’re here.” He turned toward me and wrapped me up tightly. “Don’t go anywhere. I want to see you when we get up. Okay?”

“Yeah. I’ll try.” I smirked as he nipped at my nose. I wanted to tell him how much I loved him. That I had loved him for so damn long, but I couldn’t. Fear that he wouldn’t say it back held me in captivity.

“Thank you for being there for me last night. For today.” He leaned down and kissed me thoroughly, taking his time to taste me as his hands moved over my hair lovingly.

“Always,” I whispered against his lips before tucking my head against his neck and drifting off to sleep. I could give him Spring Break week to figure things out. What was one more week in the scope of things?

  Nothing.

  Chapter 27

  Lucas

I didn’t want to let her go to the beach with the rest of the Ice Queens, but they’d planned the trip almost a year ago. It was good for me to take some time to figure things out, though there really wasn’t anything left to do but step up to the plate. I hadn’t stopped thinking about her since she’d left Sunday afternoon. Making love to her Saturday night had been the most pleasurable night of my life. I’d fucked a good list of girls but never made love to one. It was a connection, a healing of sorts that I didn’t expect it to be.

“Get up to the line and let me see you bust your ass, or you pansies are going to be running drills until we pack for the fucking trip,” Coach yelled from the players’ box as his face turned beet red.

“Come on, guys. Stop dicking around and let’s get in a good hour. All he wants is to see that we’re going to fight for this championship. You know it reflects on his ability to coach us.” I glanced around at my fellow players.

“Lucas! Are you talking shit over there?” Coach was in a serious mood.

I needed to tell him about this “making love” thing. I smirked at the thought.

“Nope. I’m threatening lives over here, Coach. You’d be proud.” I lifted my hockey stick and let out a loud grunt.

“All right. Let’s do this.” He blew his whistle and we took off.

I pushed myself as hard as I could and pulled ahead of the group with ease. I was going to miss the group of misfits around me, but I still had a few months to go. No need in getting sentimental just yet.

We reached the far side of the ice and I turned my skate, shooting shaved ice into the air before pushing off and sprinting back to the center. I positioned myself to take the lone hockey puck from the center of the rink as Jayce moved up on my left. The idea of him giving up hockey drove a stake of concern into the center of my chest and threw me off just enough for him to sweep in and steal the prize.

“Gotcha, White,” he called over his shoulder as I moved in and slipped it out from under him, tripping him in the process.

“Not in my house, bitch,” I yelled and spun to take the puck back down to the other end of the rink to score for the drill to end. The rest of the guys were racing toward me, and my pulse spiked as a smile lifted my lips.

Could I really give this up? The drive to be the best was because of my father and Bret, but the desire to play hard and bring my team the championship trophy was all me. Maybe it was a bit of both. Maybe I did still love the sport outside of the pressure to live someone else’s dream. Was it my dream too?

  I didn’t know.

With sheer determination and several sick-ass moves, I made it to the other end and scored.

Jayce pulled off his mask and skidded to a stop beside me. “Shit. I wanted to get you this time.”

“Never.” I winked at him and turned to see Coach talking to William. “Hey. Will’s here.”

“Thank God,” Jayce muttered and moved with me as we skated over toward Will.

“Guys. Will wanted to come by and say something to you.” Coach turned and put his hand on Will’s back.

The kid looked like he’d aged ten years in the last few days. I’d gotten word Monday morning that he was going to make it, but I figured I would give him a few days before I searched him out and had a long “big brother” talk with him.

His eyes widened as we all surrounded him and dragged him out to the ice, patting his back and chanting his name.

“Stop. Stop!” He looked over at me as shame filled his expression. “Fuck. I messed everything up.”

“We all have at one time or the other.” I reached out and patted the side of his cheek. “You joining us again?”

“Not this season.” Coach moved up and wrapped an arm around Will’s shoulders. “Will’s gonna get some help for his drug problem, and if he can stay clean for th
e next six months, we’re willing to consider—consider—letting him come back to the team. Right, Will?”

“Yeah. I’m sorry for everything.” He turned back to me. “Dude, really. I’m such a fucking tool.”

“Shut up and suit up. Just because you can’t play in the games doesn’t mean we don’t want the chance to beat your ass up on the ice.” I smirked at him and jolted as he moved into my arms and hugged me tightly.

“I won’t let you down, Lucas,” he mumbled against my chest. “I’ll get better. I’ll be the guy you were training me to be, okay?”

I pulled him back and shook my head. “Right, but this time, it’s for you. It’s for the pussy you’re going to score. The money you’re going to make. The pucks you’re going to take home and the teeth you’re going to lose. This time, it’s for you.”

“Right. This time, it’s for me.” The guys busted up in cheers and we jacked around until most of us had fallen on our asses.

Coach blew his whistle and rolled his eyes. “Get up, you pantie-wastes. We have a Frozen Four title to win. Last one to the line cleans the toilets, and Jessie had Mexican food last night.”

“Shit.” I scrambled to my feet and leaped over several guys on my way back to the line. I’d been the last one far too many times my freshman and sophomore years. I knew better than to be anywhere near the toilets after taco day in the cafeteria.

We all turned to see Jessie trudging along slowly. He lifted his hand as we started laughing.

“Ha. Ha. I’ll get the bathroom. Shit, I’m headed there anyway.”

  We laughed harder.

“Let’s go for a beer. Jacob’s meeting us over there. We haven’t seen the bastard in a month thanks to him preparing for the soccer season starting up right after they all get back from Spring Break.” Jayce tossed me a puck he’d been holding. “I got that for you. For the game.”

I looked down at it and smiled. “Ice King 2016—The One Man I Want Behind Me—Always.”

He snickered as I popped him in the chest and laughed. “You’re sweet on me.”

“Yep. Don’t tell Aubrey.” He shook his head and pointed toward the far end of campus. “Let’s drop our shit in the Mustang and walk over to Merskys. Yeah?”

“All right. Is anyone else coming?” I glanced behind me to see the rest of the guys all huddled around Will.

“No, I think they were talking about going out to the water and fishing off the beach for the evening. We can join them later if you’re up for it.”

I nodded and moved up beside Jayce. “Have you heard from your sister?”

“We texted a little yesterday. Have you not?” His eyebrow lifted sharply.

“No, but we decided a week apart for both of us to think through things really meant a week apart.”

“How’s that going for you?” He lifted an eyebrow and smirked.

“Fuck you too.” I slipped my hands into my jeans pockets and let out a long breath. “I’ve been thinking a lot about going to the pros.”

“And?” He crossed his arms over his chest and yawned loudly.

I glanced over and gave him a look. “Old man.”

“I’m stressed about this fucking tournament. Old man yourself. You’re about to go into the working world and start really living.”

“Yeah, whatever.” I jogged up to the front door of Merskys and opened it for us. “I’m thinking that it might not be a bad thing to go to Washington and try it out. If I hate it, I’ll just leave, right?”

“I guess. I’m sure there’s a contract involved.” He walked past me as I popped him in the back of the head.

“I meant after the contract is up. Idiot.” I moved to the side to see Jacob waving us over. Three girls stood around him in outfits that should be illegal in the late winter. The guy never seemed to be anywhere that he didn’t have women swarming him. I almost felt sorry for him.

“Hey, guys. This is Lacy, Margaret, and Casey.” He pointed to the girls and winked at Jayce. “This is—”

“We know who they are.” The redhead giggled and extended her hand to me. “Oh my God. You’re so much hotter in person.”

“As opposed to?” I laughed and shook her hand before climbing into the booth.

“On TV or in all those great pinups of you around campus.” The blond beside her gave me a sexy smile.

“Boys only tonight.” Jayce climbed into the booth beside me and gave the girls a sad smile. “Maybe next time you girls can join us.”

“Yep.” Jacob stood up and gave each of them a kiss before popping their asses and sending them on their way. He dropped down in the booth and gave us a cocky grin. “What a life.”

“Fuck that life. Girls are drama all the way.” Jayce lifted his hand in the air to call the waitress over. “I want one that knows how to work me, treat me, and slaps my ass when I get out of line.”

“I need about ten, but then again, I’m insatiable.” Jacob shrugged and lifted his beer to his lips. His cockiness knew no bounds, but he was a good guy.

Jayce patted my chest and smiled over at Jacob. “Did you hear the good news about our boy here?”

“It’s not public yet.” I glanced toward Jayce and back to Jacob. “Washington Caps have their eye on me.”

“Everyone does, Lucas. You’re too humble for your own good.” He reached out and tugged at the waitress’s top as she stopped beside him and smiled. “Sammy, these are my good friends. Help me get them tanked so they pay the tab at the end of the night. Yeah?”

“Are they single?” She leaned down and put her breasts next to Jacob’s face as he smiled and leaned in to kiss the top of her tits.

“Ahh fuck.” I turned around to Jayce and shook my head. “This guy, man. Where the fuck did we go wrong picking him as part of our friend group?”

“Oh, I picked you guys. Get it straight.” He pushed at my shoulder. “Get your beers. It’s on me tonight for being the top pick at the fucking Frozen Four.”

“Oh shit.” I leaned down as he got up in the booth and cupped his hands over his mouth, spilling the information to the whole damn place.

The waitress smiled and shook her head. “What are you having, handsome?”

Jayce leaned across the front of the booth to get her attention. “Tequila. The whole damn bottle please.”

  Chapter 28

  Aubrey

“Is it really Thursday already?” Layla turned her head and squinted as we lay on the beach in Florida together.

“Yes, I’m ready to go home,” I groaned and pulled my magazine over my face. “I miss Lucas, and I want to see my brother.”

“I want to see your brother too.” She laughed, and I pushed sand onto her hand as it lay beside me.

“You know he’s into you. Why don’t you stop talking about it and just ask him out?” I pulled Cosmo off my face and sat up, trying to locate the rest of the girls with us.

“No. It would be too weird. I’ve known him since he wore pull-ups.” She sat up beside me and dusted the sand off her hands. “Besides, he’s out of my league if we’re being for real.”

“What? That’s dumb.” I pressed my hands into the sand and lifted up. “Where are Lizzy and the other girls?”

“Probably getting gang-banged together.” She snorted as I turned to give her a look.

“They belong to the hockey guys. You know they don’t sleep around outside of the group.” I moved up to my knees and curved my hand over my eyes. “I hate the idea of them getting separated from us.”

“Why do you talk to her? You know she’s in love with Lucas.”

“No, she’s not. She’s in love with the idea of being in love. It’s different.” I dropped back down and tugged my bag into my lap to get my phone out. “She’s a good person, Layla. You can’t judge her because she sleeps around with the hockey guys.”

“Yeah. I can.” Layla dropped back down as a large shadow covered both of us.

  “Hi, ladies. I’m Clint.” A handsome blond with a sexy surfer’s b
ody knelt beside Layla and extended his hand to me. “I’m from LSU.”

“Nice to meet you.” I shook his hand. “I’m Aubrey and this is Layla. We’re from Providence University in Rhode Island.”

“Oh, nice. Some northern girls.” His accent was as cute as he was. “We’re having a big-ass party on the north shore tonight for Spring Break. Make sure you’re there. A bunch of us are meeting up under the ‘got beer’ sign by Tallingers Bar. Come join us?”

“Yeah. Maybe.” I smiled and glanced down at Layla. “You up for a party?”

“Is there hot guys and liquor?” She pulled off her shades and gave the Southern boy a smile that would surely have him looking for her later.

He chuckled and stood up. “There’s anything you want, sweetheart.”

“See you there.” I smiled up at him before dialing Lizzy’s number and pulling the phone to my ear.

He walked to the next group of girls and started his spiel all over again. Spring Break was about the sun, liquor, and getting laid. I didn’t care much for any of them as the week dragged on. I was ready to get back to the cooler climate and my hot hockey captain. I couldn’t help but fear the idea of him growing cold about us just over the few days that I was gone. It was silly, but it had been a long-ass time since I’d let myself hope for a love affair that was worth swooning over. Lucas White could very much provide that.

“Lizzy here!” The bubbly voice I’d come to care for pulled me from my thoughts.

“Where are you?” I barked into the phone as concern raced across me again. “I’m looking all around this beach, and I don’t see you anywhere.”

“Oh, hey, Aubrey. I’m in the hotel room. Teri wasn’t feeling too good, so me and Dana brought her back for a cool shower and a nap. We’re just hanging out talking.”

I let out a sigh of relief. “Awesome. We’ll head that way shortly then. Did she just get overheated or what?”

“I guess. She seems to be doing better. You guys take your time, really.”
