They were too blind to see that destroying the economy doesn’t kill the virus; it kills the people. They were truly acting like dictators.
Some of the governors, mayors, and judges didn’t seem to care about violating people’s constitutional rights and civil liberties. They appeared to be hungry for power. The things that Democrats were trying to push through the stimulus bills, like vote by mail, made their intent crystal clear.
There were a lot of Democrat officials complaining about the unemployment numbers being high, yet they were the ones who had extended the lockdowns that were keeping people from working. In the name of providing for the people during this crisis, the Democrats offered the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation program. This program added an additional $600 to each unemployment check provided because of the virus. People were actually getting paid more for being unemployed than what they would have made working on the job. This was another contributing factor to the sky-high unemployment numbers.
Next I began to wonder: How was it that big businesses were able to be open, but small businesses created so much threat to our health that they couldn’t be? Why was it safe for abortion clinics to be open, but church gatherings carried too high a risk of contagion? How could criminals be released from jail for their protection, but Americans could be jailed for working to provide for their families? To me, it seemed like the main side effect of the virus was that America was suddenly implementing the Democrats’ entire agenda.
Mm-hmm… their tactics made it seem more like we were in a “plannedemic” than a pandemic. They just slid right in with their socialist, communist agenda as if this had been the plan all along and we had better just get used to their new normal.
We had to take the bitter with the sweet. We knew that we would come through the storm because we believe Isaiah 54:17, “No weapon formed against thee shall prosper.”
We couldn’t get discouraged. President Trump declared Sunday, March 15, 2020, a National Day of Prayer. Because we were already praying every day at 11:21 a.m., EST, we posted a picture of where we had prayed for—and with—President Trump during one of our visits at the White House. We posted a message to uplift everyone’s spirits. We wanted people to focus on something positive. We encouraged people to learn how to live again: focus on faith, not fear; focus on peace, not panic; focus on love, not hate.
Y’all, even though people had to stay in their homes while President Trump was kicking coronavirus’s ass, almost every single day President Trump and his Coronavirus Task Force team held a press briefing. This gave all Americans, including people who didn’t vote for President Trump, the opportunity to see him in action without the media’s distortion of the truth.
People were also able to see how the media would ask asinine questions filled with hate while ridiculing the president for being optimistic. President Trump’s approval rating skyrocketed. People started saying that they had once been anti-Trump but they would be voting for President Trump in 2020 because they saw how he really cared for Americans.
Through it all, President Trump stepped up to the plate with strength and great leadership. While members of Congress were at their homes like cowards, leading from the back, President Trump was at the White House leading from the front.
While President Trump was getting China in hand, the Democrats and their backup media supported the communist nation. Why protect them? Why pander to them? Why did past administrations allow our medicines to be made in China?
Why didn’t Joe Biden and the Obama administration propose some type of legislation to stop China from ripping off America instead of running supplies down so low that the Trump administration was left hanging? Why in the hell did they roll over and allow China to become such a menace to the world? Why was Joe Biden, now the leading Democrat presidential candidate, repeating China’s propaganda?
After being threatened with more body bags if we didn’t conform to the WHO’s rules, why did Joe Biden say that he would reverse President’s Trump decision to defund the WHO? Sounded like this man was in the tank with China. It seemed like he was part of the problem instead of part of the solution to help get rid of the Wuhan virus.
This country was founded upon biblical principles, and there’s no way that we can sit by and let any devil from the pit of hell destroy what God built.
We’ve never seen a storm that didn’t pass, not even with Noah’s Ark. It rained for forty days and forty nights, but it did come to an end.
We had to keep telling ourselves and our viewers, “This too shall pass.”
In the midst of everything, fake news outlets were acting like provocateurs. Dictionary.com defines a provocateur as “a person who provokes trouble, causes dissension, or the like; agitator.” The mainstream media’s clickbait headlines about Diamond and Silk were straight slander, bigotry, and hate. It was brutal.
The fake news media had been writing a lot of blogs about Diamond and Silk with false and deceptive information. They took our words out of context; they chopped up some of the content from our Chit Chat videos to make it appear a specific way; they sliced and diced our sentences to make it seem like we were spewing conspiracy theories; and they tied Fox News and Fox Nation to their blogs to make it appear like pieces of the content they had edited and placed in their articles were from the videos that were licensed to Fox Nation. Clearly these people had cast off all restraint. Producing fair journalism was not even a consideration for them.
We started asking ourselves why they were coming after us. We are not conspiracy theorists; we are critical thinkers. Why were they switching up our words to make us sound a specific way?
Please note that when the pandemic began, Fox News used professionals such as doctors and epidemiologists, along with a host of other specialists, to discuss the COVID-19 virus and the pandemic. We didn’t have these medical qualifications. It made perfect sense to have the professionals on during this time as they could better assist the public with understanding the pandemic.
Mm-hmm. That’s right. Diamond and Silk are two black chicks who are down with politics, not pandemics.
We never lost touch with our viewers. Throughout all of this, we continued to do our Chit Chat Live shows and post them on our social media platforms. Not only that, we continued to do our five-minute videos for Fox Nation as well.
On April 23, 2020, we received an email inquiry from a reporter, who asked why there hadn’t been a new episode of our Fox Nation show since April 7, 2020. We were unaware of this, so we confirmed with one of our contacts at Fox that our videos were still being transferred to the appropriate person. After that confirmation, we also received a note that they were dialing back on posting any content that was overly political.
So we asked Fox if they wanted us to do videos that were not political. We were informed that we should keep doing videos as we would normally do them, and they would save them for a time when they could post them all!
I felt like one of the agendas of the fake news was to silence us. We were catching on to too many things too quickly, and we were boldly proclaiming our opinions to our millions of followers. That obviously got some in the media so upset that they became obsessed with trying to tear down Diamond and Silk. Every time they wrote a hit piece about us, the media acted like a jealous ex-boyfriend who stalks and harasses his ex-girlfriend who never gives him the time of day. It’s like we were living rent free in their heads!
Yes. Silk, that’s a great description. It was sickening. When they would write false things in their articles to try to make us look bad, they would deliberately tie Fox News to the articles.
On March 14, 2019, we flew into New York to do an in-studio interview with the president’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump. The 14:09-minute interview must have been too powerful for the left-wing media to handle. They wrote a blog post that stated that we had appeared in a Trump campaign video. They wrote about the content of the video being highly complimentary towards the president. They felt that cable n
ews company hosts were not supposed to appear in a campaign video. In my mind, I was thinking, who died and made them the cable news campaign patrol?
So a Fox News spokesperson said, “The duo are not employees of the network: Diamond & Silk license short weekly videos to Fox Nation—they are not Fox News contributors or employees. When they appear on FNC and FBN, they do so as guests.”
These fake news bloggers knew that we had never been employees of the network, yet they continued to tie Fox News to all of their articles and hit pieces about us as if we were employed by Fox News.
We are loyal supporters of President Trump, and no one—and I do mean no one—is going to stop us from supporting him, not even fake news. Before we sign any contracts or make any deals, we make extra sure that there are no restrictions that will keep us from supporting the president in any way, shape, or form. We are up-front, with no sugarcoating. It’s definitely a “no deal” if you try and block us from supporting him.
So we saw that the fake news was trying to drive a wedge to dismantle our friendships and professional relationships. It was a low blow even for them, but we weren’t surprised. The Left owns about 90 percent of the media; therefore, they can spread a lie faster than the truth, and that’s exactly what they did.
They sure did. On Monday, April 27, 2020, at 4:53 p.m., I received another email from the same reporter who had inquired about not seeing a new episode of our Fox Nation show since April 7, 2020. At the same time, I received a notification that Diamond and Silk were mentioned in an article written by the same person, from The Daily Beast.
So they emailed us and released the article on the same date, at the same time, 4:53 p.m., EST. I was on the phone talking to Diamond. I read the headline to her: “Fox News Cuts Ties with Diamond and Silk, Unofficial Trump ‘Advisers’ Who Spread Bonkers Coronavirus Claims.” I said, “Oh Lord, they are at it again.”
I was driving at the time, so I asked Silk to read the article to me. The first line said, “Fox News has cut ties with MAGA vlogging superstars Diamond & Silk.”
So the first thing I said was, “Hell, why didn’t Fox tell us?”
She continued to read on, and the next paragraph stated that a source with knowledge of the matter had told The Daily Beast that after what we’ve said and tweeted, we won’t be seen on Fox Nation or Fox News anytime soon.
So my next thought was, “Hell, why didn’t the source tell us?”
Y’all, the article was full of twisted lies to fit their twisted narrative. This was definitely the beginning of a smear campaign. A few minutes later, Silk received another notification, and another, and another. The headlines were saying that Fox News had fired Diamond and Silk.
My first thought was, Fox can’t fire us because they never hired us! You see, we were never hired by Fox. As Fox clearly stated, we only licensed our video content to their streaming platform, Fox Nation. So seeing the headlines didn’t make sense to us, but when it’s coming from the lamestream media, you’re liable to see anything.
That’s right. The smear tactics being used were despicable. It was like someone turned on a water spigot in an overflowing pool. There was no regard for the truth. The majority of the articles didn’t even allege anything. They wrote the stories to be just as false as they could be, and they deliberately made it appear as truth.
On the same day, April 27, 2020, at 5:56 p.m., EST, we sent an email to our contact at Fox News to make them aware of what was going on and to see how they wanted us to respond. To our surprise, the contact didn’t have any knowledge of what was happening but advised us to “Probably ignore it if possible.”
We replied with links to a few of the articles and continued to honor our Fox Nation contractual agreement.
Y’all, I’m not going to lie. It was hard for me to just ignore it. Anytime Diamond and Silk are written about, anywhere in the world, we get a notification. Imagine getting inundated with email after email, message after message, interview request after interview request asking for us to respond.
Just when we thought it was over, there was another dump of derogatory articles defaming us, assassinating our characters, and smearing us. It didn’t look like the clickbait was going to end.
Keep in mind that anytime the media starts writing stories by “unnamed sources,” there’s a strong possibility that they made something up.
Not only that, but no one from Fox clarified whether there really was a source or not. That didn’t sit well with us. What was really going on?
On April 27, 2020, we trended on Twitter for almost the entire day. Blogs, videos, magazines, radio shows, and even Jimmy Kimmel had something to say about Diamond and Silk. Now, in the midst of all of the hate, we were able to see who our true friends were. It was like we were having an out-of-body experience. We were talked about all over the world, all because of a lie and smear campaign.
We were being put through the wringer all because we had dared to speak against the left-wing narrative. We had dared to ask questions about a huge crisis that was plaguing this country. We had dared to ask questions about the inflation of the number of deaths—something that was later questioned by Dr. Birx herself.
Yeah, Silk, if you questioned the obvious agenda or spoke out against the narrative, you were ridiculed.
By April 29, I was furious. We called another contact at Fox News to see what was going on and why no one at Fox had addressed the lie from The Daily Beast. I was so overwhelmed that it brought me to tears because we had done nothing wrong. Not one time did Fox News inform us or reprimand us for anything. Not one person at Fox News, not top executives, journalists, reporters, or any of our contacts at Fox News called or emailed to inform us of any wrongdoing.
A few days later, the same contact at Fox News that we had called wrote us an email and said, “I want to assure you the stories are not true and executives here feel lies like that should just be ignored. Stay strong and keep fighting!”
Y’all… I was so mad. I know that I had damn near gotten on Silk’s last nerve. We were being lied about and relentlessly smeared in the media. Silk was cool, calm, and collected. Me, on the other hand… I was livid.
Where the hell was Fox? Where was their PR department? Why the hell didn’t they correct the lies published by The Daily Beast? Why didn’t Fox speak up?
Their silence spoke louder than their words. Fox News was so quiet that you could have heard a bicycle stop for a turtle crossing the road ten miles away.
In the midst of it all, I couldn’t panic. I had to get still and be thankful for all of the good that I knew was about to come out of all of this. I focused on the good and strategized. We were Diamond and Silk before Fox, and we would be Diamond and Silk after Fox. Our weekly videos were licensed to Fox, not our brand and definitely not Diamond and Silk.
That’s right. So don’t get it twisted. We had millions of followers before Fox. Fox didn’t make us, so Fox couldn’t break us.
How the hell were we supposed to feel? Not one executive from Fox had told us we were spreading misinformation or conspiracy theories, but the left-wing media was spreading misinformation and theories from an unnamed source from Fox.
Here is the crazy thing, y’all: Fox News hosts like Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham were questioning the same things we were questioning about the virus and pandemic. The very same questions we had raised were being discussed openly on Fox News.
That led me to ask this question: Why were our Fox Nation videos dialed back because they were deemed overly political, but it was okay for others on the network to talk about politics, even down to asking some of the same questions we had? Why were we such a threat? We only did one video every week, and it was hidden behind a paid subscription wall. When you really think about it, was this part of the systemic racism that everybody was talking about?
Yeah, Silk. How in the hell was it OK for for the white show host to ask the same questions and talk about the same things that we were speaking about, but our vi
deo content was dialed back for being overly political? We were all asking the same questions and talking about the same thing.
The first thing I thought was, who in the hell ordered the hit? Was this something that came from the top floor, the higher-ups, or was this bigger? This seemed to be bigger than we knew.
The day before the hit, on April 26, 2020, President Trump had tweeted his displeasure with Fox News and some of its personalities, hosts, and one of the board members. He had criticized them for being politically correct. He let them know that some of their viewers were angry at Fox and that he and those viewers wanted an alternative.
It makes you wonder if this was some type of retaliation against us, especially since it happened the next day. Perhaps that’s why we were thrown under the bus. Hell, we don’t know. All we do know is that Fox never told the public that they had cut ties with us. As a matter of fact, Fox never even told us that they had cut ties with us.
The day of this writing is May 15, 2020. Our videos are still licensed to Fox Nation. It’s totally up to them to post them or shelve them. After we make the videos and send them, they can do what they damn well please with them!
We understand that during an election year one of the tactics from the Left is to silence the voices making the most impact. We’re not saying that this is what Fox did, but it damn sure felt like it.
Y’all, here’s the funniest thing: The fake news media actually amplified the message that they were trying to suppress and censor. When they wrote those horrible lies about us and tried to label us, people began asking the same questions. Even Diamond and Silk haters started asking questions and agreeing with our opinions.
Over a hundred thousand additional people began following us on our social media platforms. Plus, our weekly Chit Chat Live viewership jumped to the highest it has been since being censored by social media. People were stopping by to see who we were and wondering why they’d never seen us before.
We received lots of encouraging messages, thousands of additional followers, many business offers, and an amazing message from the President of the United States. I had tweeted out, “Haters keep saying they hate Diamond and Silk, but you can’t hate what you ain’t never loved!”
