“They helped rescue me. It’s done as soon as they take the oath.” She wrapped her arms around him.
“Thanks, and technically, you’ll be the half-owner. I’ll just be your husband.” He ran his hands along her waist. “Where do you think the Matriarchs sent Dash?”
“Mama says it’s best we don’t have the particulars until his mission is complete. All I know is he has a lead on the missing cat shifter and human, and he’ll be partnering up with a contact from another clan out-of-state to go undercover and bring them home.”
“I hope he’s back safe and sound in time for our wedding.” He took her hand and rubbed his thumb over the engagement ring that had been his mother’s. “Looks like you didn’t have any trouble getting it sized.”
“Yeah. It’s so gorgeous, just like your mama was. I almost feel unworthy to wear it.” She leaned over and rested the side of her head on his.
“That’s crazy. You’re beautiful inside and out.” He stroked her dark locks. “Any word on combining the clans?” He casually unfastened the top button of her pants and began tugging at the zipper.
Suki groaned. “The process may take a while. Wormer and Ollie weren’t the only bad apples in their movement, and Mama’s not ready to hand over her power. For the time being, we are one clan with co-matriarchs, but who knows, years down the road, one of the Bank’s boys might sire a strapping young son, and we might give birth to a little future matriarch who’s fated to him.”
Mal chuckled. “If only things ever worked out so smoothly.”
The End
Worried About Harley and the Other Missing Girl?
Don’t be. Dash Hammond, the blunt but bold and sexy Native American werewolf, is on the case, and he’s going to bring them home. Be on the lookout for his story, coming soon!
