He opened his book to a page with a marker in it.
“You inspired this,” he said, pulling me closer.
I looked down in his book and on the page was him and me on the cliff side, perfectly drawn like a photo. We were standing close to each other looking out towards the moon while holding each other so intimately. The surroundings were perfect, the picture looked so much like a photo except with no colour, but what shocked me most was how my face looked in the picture. I looked beautiful, I barely recognized myself, and it looked like I was perfectly suited to Sam.
“You drew this?” I asked, mind blown.
“Yes. I was never very good at drawing myself, I almost captured your beauty, but it will never be as perfect as you.”
I stared at the page and couldnt help but feel warm inside, its how he makes me feel. He made me feel strong again, beautiful, loved and human.
I looked at his face and couldnt help what I did next. I jumped on him and kissed him with as much force as possible, knocking him down on the bed and taking him by surprise. I heard the book clatter to the ground but couldnt quite care as much as I should have. When I finally realised what I was doing I stopped and pulled back so I hovered above him.
“I'm sorry,” I said breathlessly, my long hair was dangling in his face.
He smiled, overwhelmed, and rolled us over.
“What are you doing?” I asked when he was hovering over me this time.
I knew he was going to pull something to make me sound like an idiot so I braced myself.
He leaned down abruptly and suddenly I could feel his body heat on me, but none of his weight; he was being careful.
“I missed having you to myself, and now they are gone I am never going to let you go. I hate sharing,” he whispered in my ear.
I started trembling when he started covering my neck in light kisses. He was definitely doing this on purpose. Every time, I thought to myself.
“Why do you do this?” I whispered.
“Because you are so adorable when you are incoherent.”
I rolled my eyes. His hand slid to my waist and pulled my body up against his. I was breathing so fast now I was surprised I wasnt blowing up like a balloon or having an aneurism. I felt him chuckle against my skin, his warm breath leaving my skin tingly. He pulled back and smiled warmly, I could see his green eyes were so soft and full of love for me, it made me ecstatic inside. He leant in and pressed his lips to mine again and again and again, so gently it felt like it couldn't be real. His big hand was locked around my waist and the other was cupping the side of my face. I felt his hand slide under my shirt and touch the bare skin of my back, sending fire through my body.
“Don't stop,” I whispered.
“I don't want to,” he said roughly, sliding both his hands behind me and up under my shirt even further, his warm and heavy touch making me whimper softly.
I didn't want him to ever stop, never.
I felt him stop and he pulled back and he rolled over, pulling me with him so I was lying next to him on my side, his hands now on the outside of my shirt.
“You party pooper,” I said breathlessly, waiting for my breathing to return to normal.
He chuckled.
“Things should go back to normal I suppose,” I suggested conversationally, playing with his hand.
His hand was so smooth, and when I flipped it over I could clearly see where his veins and tendons ran up his forearm.
“We will just have to see how things go,” he answered, his voice was mutual now.
“But you guys are so tense all the time.”
“Yes, but it never hurt anybody.”
Hurt anybody... that reminded me. I was still curious about the whole gun situation last week.
“Do you have a weaponry room?” I asked, sounding like I was talking about a conspiracy.
“What?” He laughed a little.
“Do you have a room where you keep all the guns and stuff?” I asked again.
“Of course, why?” he answered, honestly curious to why I was curious.
“No reason. It's just last week I thought people were going to die,” I said quietly, not returning his gaze.
“We try not to kill people.”
“Uh huh, that's why you have bullets?” I questioned in disbelief.
He smiled a little smile. “Our bullets are different, they are designed to stun Supernatural beings remember, putting them in a state where they cannot control their bodies or abilities very well. Although the cut off venom can kill humans,” he explained to me.
“I don't understand.”
“If we want to kill someone, we use our abilities most of the time. I do suppose that depends if you have an offensive or defensive ability.”
I nodded, understanding now. The weapons were to keep the person alive, hence the specially made bullets, but if you wanted to kill them you would just use your ability. That was of course if you had an offensive ability.
“I want you to see something,” Sam said, his eyes soft.
“Okay.”
He hopped up and pulled me up with him, leading me into the bathroom which put a curious look on my face. We stopped in front of the mirror and he stood behind me.
“What are you doing?” I asked with a confused grin.
“Look into the mirror.”
“Why?”
His tolerant smile appeared across his face. “Just humour me and look into the mirror.”
I sighed and looked into the mirror like he said, humouring him. “Now what?”
“Tell me what you see.”
I inhaled and exhaled deeply as Sams arms slunk around my waist and he rested his head on my shoulder, facing my neck. As I looked into the mirror I told him what I saw. “I see you and me.”
“Look closer,” he encouraged gently.
I looked at myself. I looked more grown up. Then I looked at Sam, and he looked perfect. But as I looked at us both together, as one big picture, we looked as if we belonged together, for the first time in forever we looked suited. I felt a sudden rush of pride inside of me.
“Do you see it?”
I nodded, a smile spreading across my lips.
Sam squeezed me tighter. “I love you.”
I smiled at him in the mirror. “You're a weirdo but I love you, and I think we need a night away from this mess.”
I turned around and took his hands in mine. “Come on, come with me,” I said eagerly, pulling on his hands like a little child wanting ice-cream.
“Where to beautiful?”
I rolled my eyes but pulled him to the door. We practically ran down the hallway and staircase, but we finally found Hunter and Jane with Fredric, James and Elane in the kitchen.
“Guys, I had a great idea,” I said, practically jumping up and down with joy.
Sam chuckled and everyone else smiled. Sam wrapped his arms around me again and I put my hands over his.
“We should go out for dinner tonight, all of us. Just so we can have at least one good night out with each other,” I explained.
I looked around the room and everybody was thinking.
“That is not a half bad idea. Food is one of my many loves,” James said, smirking.
“Yeah, I'll come,” Fredric said, nodding his head.
“Same here,” Hunter concurred.
“Yeah, Lays is right. We need a night to cool off, so we should all go out for dinner,” Jane said acceptingly.
“Wait, when are Summer and Peter coming home?” Elane asked, worry on her flawless face.
“I just spoke to them yesterday and they said they are nearly finished. They are coming back in four days time,” Jane answered, sitting down next to Hunter.
Elane nodded.
Everyone knew she missed her parents but there was nothing we could really do except comfort her. “What restaurant should we go to?” Elane asked, trying to appear happy enough.
“Forest Thai?” James suggested.
“Black stump?”
Hunter suggested as well.
“They are good, but how about we go somewhere such as… Peppercorn?” Jane said.
Everyone looked at each other and I looked back at Sam.
He nodded. “Peppercorn has my vote, French food is nice,” he said with a smile.
“Peppercorn,” everybody agreed with a smile.
For the rest of the afternoon I was being tortured by Elane and Jane. They wanted to dress me up and they guilt tripped me into it, I couldn't help but give in after 5 minutes. I ended up in a tight fitting, red knee length dress with thin arm straps, a beautiful thin snow white cardigan and white flats. I was wearing tons of make-up, but technically I had hardly any on, just a little eye make-up and lip stick, but I didn't ever really wear it so it felt like a lot to me.
I was feeling a bit nervous and lightheaded as I walked out of Janes bathroom behind Elane, smoothing out my dress because I was still worried of how I'd look to everyone else.
“Okay, the guys are waiting downstairs,” Elane said.
She seemed excited that we were dressed up, but not too dressy, and going out which was good, maybe she'd get her mind off things.
“Where's Jane?” I asked, trying to play it cool and hide my nervousness.
“She will be out soon. Shes just getting her dress on.”
Elane was wearing a short white dress that looked casual and made her look like a supermodel, but I found she was looking at me.
“What?” I asked shyly, smoothing my out dress again.
I hoped I wasn't wearing anything too embarrassing because I felt too exposed.
“You look gorgeous is all,” she said, smiling kindly.
“Sure,” I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes.
“No, you really do. To tell you the truth, you look hot!” she exclaimed.
I laughed shakily. “Great! Everyone is biased, it's like a disease.”
Jane walked through the door and paused. She was wearing a short deep green dress with thin straps, looking like a beautiful fallen angel.
“Wow! We did a good job,” she said to Elane, eyeing me up and down.
“Oh!” I sighed in exasperation with another roll of my eyes.
“Come on, I'm sure Sam will love it,” Elane said, pulling me over towards the door with Jane.
We walked down the hallway and stopped at the top of the stairs.
“Ready guys?” Jane called down.
“Ready!” they yelled up.
Jane turned towards Elane and I, taking our elbows. She was in the middle, Elane was on the left and I was on the right. We descended down the stairs slowly, arms linked, and as we did I felt woozy and sick in my stomach.
“Guys?” I whispered over to them.
“Yeah,” they both answered.
“Please don't let me fall?” I asked.
“Sure thing Lays. I do not think Sam would let you fall either,” Jane answered with a sly grin.
“Okay, cut it out.”
As we rounded the corner of the spiralling stairs all the guys started wolf whistling and clapping, and once we hit the ground level I walked straight over to Sam whose mouth was hanging open, literally.
I was really lucky I was in flats this time otherwise I would have fallen over I thought.
He was dressed in black once again, but this time he had a white shirt on, black pants and a black trench coat. His shirt really clung to him well under his coat and made me… speechless. I get to hold him, I thought to myself, feeling flustered.
He stuttered incoherently for a minute and cleared his throat before I got a clear answer. “You look amazing,” he choked out.
It entertained me that for once he couldnt find the right words, it sort of felt satisfying. I was smiling sheepishly the whole time when he was stuttering but I straightened up.
“And you look charming,” I said.
I had finally gotten over my jitters and worries when I touched his warm hand.
“Alright are we ready to go?” James asked, already heading towards the garage door.
Everyone was.
“I took care of the reservations so we are set,” Jane said as well.
I noticed James was dressed similar to Sam except he had his arm sleeves rolled up and a jacket in his arms. Actually, when I looked around all the guys were dressed very similar, black pants and some sort of white shirt. I guess they wanted to dress casual smart too.
“Yeah, let's head off,” I said, holding onto Sams arm as we walked into the garage.
Sam held the Hummer door open for me but I wasnt able to climb in and he grinned out of enjoyment from that. He had to lift me in the car my dress was that tight. It would have helped if I had splits or something in the sides.
We drove into the early darkness to Peppercorn, which was on the Pacific highway in Roseville, so about 5 and a bit kilometres from Forestville.
It was a quiet ride for most of the way, everyone had decided to take their own rides, except for me of course. I was still under aged technically and I didn't feel like breaking the law just yet. Sam was also under aged, but he somehow had a license. Then again he was like 114yrs old and looked 17 to 18yrs old.
So now everyone was racing safely to get to the restaurant and to my surprise we were in the lead, followed by James in the Viper, then Hunter with his Mustang, Fredric with the Yamaha, Elane with her Honda and Jane with her SUV. All we had to do was keep a close eye out for speeding cameras and cops.
“So… did I mention you look believably amazing,” Sam said after a while.
“Yes,” I answered with a smile.
He was so sweet, it was part of his personality. Along with strong, caring, being an over protective fool and so much more.
“Sam,” I asked.
“Yeah?”
“How would you describe my personality?” I asked.
I was curious to how he sees me.
“Kind, helpful, amazing, intuitive, intellectually smart, competitive, sensible and you have a temper which can easily be calmed,” he said, grinning wickedly.
“I do not have a temper,” I said a bit offended.
I crossed my arms over my chest and looked at him.
“Don't worry, I think it is a part of your charm.”
That softened me up, he was so… so perfect. How could he be real?
I tried to suppress my feelings that told me to say something corny like… well they're that corny I'm not even gonna try to think them.
“We're here,” he said all of a sudden.
I looked up ahead and saw the sign for Peppercorn, the fanciest French restaurant in Roseville. You would think a French restaurant would be in the French Forests near Forestville, but its not.
We were the first to pull in the parking lot, closely followed by the rest of the guys. Sam got out and came around to my door. He opened it and the new nights coldness swirled into the car, making goose bumps rise on my legs as I took my seat belt off.
“Ah... you're gonna have to help me, again,” I said, embarrassed yet again.
He chuckled and reached his hands up for me with my heart beating a thousand miles a minute. It was funny the way his touch made me react, even now after I had spent so much time with him.
He pulled me down and slowly pulled me towards him so I could clearly see his flawless, soft face.
“You ready?” he asked softly.
“When I'm with you, I'm ready for anything,” I said, my hands moving from his shoulders to his face.
My feet weren't on the ground and the only thing supporting me were his arms around my waist.
“Good,” he whispered with a smile.
He put me on the ground softly and shut the door of the silver Hummer, clicking the alarm on. I took his arm and we walked to the front of the Hummer to wait for everyone.
“So where is this weaponry?” I asked as we walked to the front of the restaurant.
He smiled slightly and bent down so his lips were to my ear. “If I tell you, Ill have to kiss you.”
/>
I grinned. “Please no, not a kiss.”
He laughed. “It's in the library. I will show you one day,” he whispered, kissing my cheek.
“Alright we're all here, let's go in,” Jane said, starting to walk through the parking lot with all of us next to her.
We made it to the small and warmly orange lit restaurant. It wasn't very full tonight but we still booked a reservation just in case.
We all followed Jane in and walked over to the reservation desk.
“Table for Archer,” Jane said as we stood behind her.
The waiter was a middle aged male who looked very surprised to see all of us, but of course he didn't reject Jane, it was probably our ages that shocked him the most.
“Of course, this way,” he said, leading us through the restaurant.
We were showed to a huge circular table in one of the far corners of the restaurant. I sat down next to Sam and Hunter, then we waited for the menus.
“Well, this is nice,” I said, looking around. “I've never been to a restaurant before.”
We all smiled and it was sort of a relief to just go out with not so many worries. The server came out and she was a female, she had bleach blonde hair, looked like she was in her early twenties, and was wearing way too much make-up.
“Good evening, my name is Casey and I will be your waitress this evening. What can I get you?” she asked.
I noticed she was eyeing up James, but he seemed uninterested. That made me snicker and look down at the table so she couldn't see, she might have spat in my food if she did. James was so cool though.
Everyone ordered after a lot of deciding. I got the steak and potatoes and Sam had the same. We all talked about different things and it was nice to get out and do stuff like this. At one point all the girls talked about the guys and they all just listened, it was funny. But James, as usual, was being James, and holding bets on who could do what and that was embarrassing. Once Sam got dared to kiss me in front of everyone and he did it, no objections. He wrapped his hand around my neck and placed his other hand to the side of my face, then he kissed me as roughly and ridiculously as possible. I had to try very hard not to burst with laughter as he was kissing me, but I was smiling. As we did that all I could hear come from James mouth was; woo woo, the entire time. But we had a few laughs and eventually we looked up at the clock and it was ten already, so we paid the bill and headed towards the cars in the parking lot.
