Wade: Summers of Love: A Why Choose Romance (Seasons of Love Book 3)

Unaware of my mental plans, he continued. “Then lay back and close your eyes. If something feels painful, let me know, but if it’s just uncomfortable, give it a minute before you say stop. Okay?”
I nodded, my back flat against the mattress, and closed my eyes tight.
“Remember what I said. Start slowly, rubbing your finger across your clit until it feels good.”
He reached up with his non-lubed hand and brought mine up until it was holding my breast. “Take your thumb and flick it over your nipple like this.” His finger gently brushed over the tip, making me tremble with want. “How does that feel?”
“Better. Am I doing it right?” I asked, wanting to please him.
“You’ll know because you won’t be asking me questions anymore.” I could hear the humor in his voice as I tried to focus on what my hands were supposed to be doing.
I had to forget that he was there watching me play with myself, and keep working until I could get the same responses he brought out of me.
“That’s it, baby, keep doing it just like that,” he soothed, running his thumb up and down my very wet slit.
A few more strokes and I was getting closer. This stopping and starting just made each motion that much better as I began to climb toward the top.
He must have been watching my expressions because he never took his thumb away, but he slid those lubed fingers around my rear hole.
Instead of surprise, it spurred me on. I was so close to finishing.
When he moved them inside, he did it so quickly that I couldn’t even tell if he used one or two fingers as he started to pump in and out of my ass. That was the exact thing missing. I took my fingers away to ride out the orgasm, while Wade’s mouth took over and kept me going until I wasn’t sure that I would ever stop.
His tongue licked my nub, just differently enough that I came so hard, my nails made marks in the sheets from gripping them so tightly.
Slowly pulling his fingers out, he continued to lick my nub to ease the empty feeling before bringing all of my nerves and sensations to a slow stop.
“Don’t move,” he admonished, going into the bathroom to wash up. I couldn’t have even if I’d wanted to. Instead of bringing a warm rag or towel back, he’d stripped off his clothes, and was wearing a condom.
“What?” I barely lifted my head up enough to protest when he took the lube and rubbed it all up and down his very hard member that still needed relief.
“I’ll be gentle,” he cooed, “but you tell me if you want more anytime.” He ran a still damp hand up and down my leg as he positioned himself between my still shaking legs.
“No butt,” I warned.
“I won’t go near your butt,” he promised as he ran the tip between my swollen lips.
A few shallow thrusts had me wanting faster and harder, so I pushed my hips up off the bed to meet him, making him groan.
“If you do that, I’m not going to last very long,” he breathed out heavily.
Now he’d given me a challenge, and my senses had returned enough that I was willing to take that chance.
Meeting his thrusts with my own made all those still tender nerves come alive again, and we both released at the same time, collapsing into a happy, tangled mess.
“Whew, that was fun and new. We should try that again.”
“Not right now, but give me about ten minutes,” he huffed. “You certainly made me work for it.”
I slapped at his chest playfully. “Let’s try tomorrow or the next day. I think you may have worn me out.”
“I’ll give you a couple of hours, but I’ve got to get you ready for when all of us are here together. You didn’t think you could date four guys and not have us take your ass, did you?” He raised up onto his elbow, giving me a questioning look.
Feeling exposed, because we were talking about my ass, I reached down the side of the bed and pulled the edge of the sheet up over me.
“What made my ass fair game? I didn’t know that was really a thing.” I scrunched up my nose in distaste.
“I thought you watched porn to get ideas to use with all of us? How did you miss the internet’s obsession with butts?” Wade flicked the sheet off of, me exposing my breast.
Pushing him over and onto his back, I wrapped the sheet around me and tucked the edge underneath.
“It just seems dirty.”
“That’s the whole point, baby. When something is forbidden, it’s that much more attractive to bad boys like us. Didn’t you like what I did?”
Frowning, I thought about it. “It didn’t hurt like I thought it would. If you’d have put him in there, then it would have.” I pointed toward his cock with a blush.
“Him? You mean my sexy, dancing cock? Or is ‘him’ the only word you can say for our cocks?” He raised an eyebrow, waiting for an answer.
“Okay, I’m embarrassed to say the word. It doesn’t just come out of your mouth all the time.”
Wade started moving his cock up and down. “I think you’ve been doing this blowjob thing all wrong if it doesn’t cum in your mouth.”
“You’re hopeless. I can’t discuss this with you.” I rolled to the edge of the bed, holding the sheet over me as I searched for my clothes.
He noticed my dilemma and stretched out on the bed as his cock pointed to the ceiling. If I went to get my clothes, I’d be naked. If I took the sheet, well, he was laying on it, and probably wasn’t going to give it back to me.
Might as well own it. It wasn’t like he hadn’t seen all of me before.
I got up, dropping the sheet as I walked right in front of him and picked up my underwear. For added measure, to show him that I wasn’t going to be shy, I wiggled my hips, making sure to shake my ass as I collected the rest of my clothes. My bag with my pajamas was sitting right by the door, so I opened it to put my discarded clothes up, grabbing a fresh pair of non-sexy panties to cover my ass.
He didn’t say a word when I reentered, fully clothed in pajama pants and a top. I’d brought some sexy stuff, but at this point, I wanted to get under his skin.
“Did your grandmother’s spirit possess you when you went in the other room just now?”
“Nope. It’s the spirit of relationships. They don’t have to be all about sex, and this should help your cock”—I grinned as I spoke the word—“to chill out, because he’s not getting any more from this girl tonight.”
“Oooh,” he drawled out. “You can say the word. In that case, I’ll go take a cold shower before I join you in bed.”
Listening as he gave me a dose of my own medicine had me gulping down the words, ‘come back and do me again’ as he walked his well-toned ass into the bathroom.
“Agh!” I screamed into the pillows. When he poked his head out, I was pulling down the sheets like nothing had happened. He glanced around, and then went back in to turn on the shower.
I was going to become a sex fiend if I stayed around all of these guys. If this was what I felt like with only one guy with me, then it would be crazy to have all of them home.
The word ‘home’ made me frown. Did any of us really have a place that we could consider home?
I was still contemplating the word when Wade came out with a towel wrapped around his waist.
Seeing my face, he came over and climbed into the bed with me, shaking his wet hair all over me. “Why the long face, Mouse?”
“Ugh!” I pulled the pillow between us. “Because none of us has a home to go to when we all get out of school.”
He pushed the pillow down and sank onto the bed next to me.
“Do we need to really worry about that now? We’ve got two or three years before we’re all even close to being together, and for now, this should work.”
I brushed a stray hair back from his face. “But don’t you ever just want someplace to call home? I’m not talking about a place where we stay, but someplace that makes all of us feel welcome. Someplace that makes us want to come back to, that we miss when we’re gone.”
> “Rox, it sounds like a wonderful dream. I’ve never had a warm home, it’s always been a house. I’m not even sure what that would look or feel like. You’re the closest thing to home I’ve ever had or wanted. I guess we all have a messed up view of what a family or home are supposed to be like.”
“Once my mom passes away, I don’t have any reason to come back here. I mean, my job is great, and my boss loves me, but he knows that I might not be back after school. I don’t want to move back here once I graduate. I want somewhere that Kelly can come when he has leave, and for Carter to move to when he finishes. Jay’s got a lot of years, but one day he’ll come home, and I want him to feel like it’s his too, and that he’s not an outsider.”
“I think I can say for all of us that wherever you decide to put down roots is where we’re all going to make our way back to. That doesn’t mean that you have to come back here again. I understand more now that I’ve spoken to your mom. We’ll figure something out.”
“Speaking of that, depending on how Mom’s doing then, do you think we could go to Kelly’s graduation ceremony in three weeks? I think it would mean a lot if we showed up.”
“He’s where, Missouri? I think that’s only about four or five hours. We can take a bike ride, and then come back the next day. Sophia and Sarah could probably stay with your mom if we asked. I’m up for it.” He grinned. “We can see how well your ass is at taking me and letting Kelly have at your pussy. We’ll do a little double teaming.”
“Great.” I gave an exaggerated sigh. “I should’ve known that you’d come back to that if I gave you the right opening.”
“Opening? Well, you do have a few of those, and we’re going to have to do some experimenting to find the best combination for all of us. It’s should be lots of fun.”
I picked up the remote, completely ignoring him. “Wonder what’s on TV…”
“Porn?” he asked hopefully.
“The cake decoration contests are on.” I grinned, because that was the furthest thing from porn and sex I could think of to torment him with.
“Oh, you mean the ones with cream filling?”
“You know what? I think you’ll make a great lawyer if your clients are hookers and pimps. You certainly know how to speak their language,” I returned saucily. “At least nothing will ever phase you when your clients tell you what they’re in for.”
The look on his face was priceless. He hadn’t been expecting a comeback from me.
I flicked my finger, drawing the number one in the air. “Roxie–1, Wade–0. Boom. Mic drop.”
Chapter Five
Wade
I was determined to make up for my horrible first day, and did everything that I could do for Ms. Vicky to make her last days easier. The next few weeks went well because I brought my homework to finish up while sitting with her, adding interesting things from cases that I was studying in my electives.
Roxie had even stopped checking up on us during lunch, finally deciding to trust me.
Sarah had taken to going out during the day to the lake or wherever there were guys willing to hang out, or rather, make out with her.
I’d just finished a paper when Ms. Vicky started coughing, and couldn’t catch her breath. Even with the oxygen, she was still having trouble breathing, and was going to have to make a trip to the hospital.
Dreading making the call to Roxie, I dialed, hoping I could leave a message.
“What’s wrong, Wade?” she asked immediately.
“I think your mom needs to go to the hospital. She can’t catch her breath and needs more help than you or I can provide.”
“Take her to the ER and get her admitted. They’re going to have to see her and recommend hospice, or we’ll be accused of killing her when she does pass away. Then, if they agree, we can get her some meds to make her more comfortable and have a nurse come in and sit with her,” Roxie calmly explained to me.
“Aren’t you going to come up there in case we need you?” I couldn’t help the panic from seeping into my voice.
“Yes. On my lunch break I’ll come up there and see what the doctor thinks, but there isn’t much we can do. She signed a DNR when my aunt died, and now we just have to let her go.”
“Aw, Rox. I’m sorry, honey. I’ve got her in the car. Just call me when you get there and I’ll tell you where we are.”
Words couldn’t express how horrible and messed up this situation was. Roxie wanted to do what was best for her mom, and her mom just wanted to die and leave her kid all alone in the world.
I just shook my head. If my parents were dying, they’d still want me to be there, even if only to show how disappointed they were in me. I guess when you looked at it, maybe all families were like that.
The nurses on duty rushed her onto a gurney and hooked her up to IVs and oxygen. “Check her file,” I instructed. “She doesn’t want any extra measures taken to preserve her life.”
“Understood,” the nurse responded as she pushed me toward the door.
“No, I’ve been helping take care of her and need to stay with her until her daughter gets here,” I protested. No matter how horrible this thing was, I wasn’t going to leave her alone in the hospital.
“If you’re not family—” the nurse started to say, but Vicky’s hand was waving furiously at her. “What is it?”
Vicky pulled down the mask long enough to rasp out, “He can come.”
“Well, she’s the patient, so I guess you get to follow along. Just don’t get in our way,” she advised.
“Yes, ma’am,” I agreed, making sure to keep up with the pace they were moving.
They put her in the back of the ER and pulled the curtain around us. Hooking her up to the monitors, they gave her something that was supposed to ease her breathing.
The nurse, Kristy, checked everything, and paused before leaving us. “We’ve got everything going. The doctor will be in in a few minutes. If anything strange happens, just push the red button on her bed and we’ll come running.”
She left to take care of other patients, and I folded my long frame into the uncomfortable chair next to the bed.
Vicky reached her hand out toward me, and when I took it, she smiled and closed her eyes.
Even though she claimed she didn’t want help and didn’t need anyone, at the end, she wanted someone to be there with her.
The doctor still hadn’t arrived when Roxie called, so I directed her to where we were waiting.
Roxie breezed in looking so sexy in her dress pants and blazer.
“You’ve been here over an hour, right?”
Barely waiting for my nod, she stormed out and went to look for something. She returned moments later with the doctor and nurse.
“I called her oncologist to let him know, and he’s going to come over for a consult this afternoon. He suggested that we go ahead and get hospice set up for her before he lets her go home,” Roxie informed them as they checked the charts while doing an exam.
“Well, he can say all he wants to, but she’s in my ER. She’s not going anywhere until I tell you she can,” the doctor remarked testily. “That said, she does look like she’s in the last stages of her disease. I can’t say if it’s any one thing, but more of a combination. She’s got fluid on her lungs, and even if we clear that out, it’s just going to come back again. The question is, how long before she’s back here? Ms. Berry, what do you want us to do for you? We can give you some steroids to clear out your lungs and let you go home.”
“No, I want to go home and die in peace. No more meds unless they’re the good kind that make me forget.”
“Very well. We’ll let your oncologist make the final decision, but go ahead and get things ready to take her home this afternoon, or evening. I’ll get her paperwork ready so that we can give her something before you move her. Then tomorrow, you’ll be able to pick up the morphine that should help her through the last few days.” The doctor patted her leg as he made a few notes before turning to go.

Days? That’s all she’s got left?” Roxie put a hand over her mouth to cover her shock. “Sorry, we knew this was coming, but days sounds so final.”
“Well, death is like that, ma’am. It’ll sneak up on you.” He appeared to be trying to offer comfort, but he wasn’t doing a very good job of it.
When he left, I stood and put an arm around her, but she pulled away. “I’ve got to go make the arrangements. I’ll be back before lunch is over to make sure you know what’s going on.”
She fled the room, and I sank back into the chair feeling helpless.
Vicky had been sitting propped up, listening to everything, but hadn’t taken her mask off until now.
“She’ll get over it. When I’m gone, she can go meet the rest of my family. Not that they’ll like her any more than they did me, but at least it will give her something to do.” She let the mask fall back into place, inhaling deeply.
“Do you know who her father is?” I hadn’t ever asked her about it because I didn’t want to pry or be rude. But the time for being polite had passed, and it was time to find out as much as I could for Roxie’s sake.
She nodded. “I wrote down all the information and gave it to the lawyer so she couldn’t abandon me before I died to look for them.”
“Aw, she wouldn’t do that. You two may not have the best relationship, but she does love you in her own way. She wouldn’t be spending her lunch break trying to get things ready to make you more comfortable at home if she didn’t.”
“She could do a better job of showing it,” Vicky huffed as she started coughing again.
I refrained from commenting because I knew that it took receiving love to actually want to show it. Roxie had been so giving, and her mother had never done anything except berate her and her choices.
“Okay. Once the doctor comes in to see you around three this afternoon, then they’ll release you. Sarah is moving the living room around, and the hospice lady will be there when you arrive. Is there anything that you can think of that I’m missing?”
