His craggy face split into a smile. “Good, good. You may save us all, Lauren Hope.”
I glanced at Mathias who was teetering. “After I take him to see a doctor. Again.”
“Are Tens always such high maintenance,” he asked as I managed to get Mathias back to his feet.
I breathed a wry laugh. “This one just requires more supervision.”

Note from the Author
Around the start of the holiday season last fall as I was working my plots for the second half of Mathias and Lauren’s series, I was struck with the realization that Lauren was not just a Spotter. Then it occurred to me that not only was her father a high number but he was going to be one of the Jinn, which opened a fantastic resolution for Lauren’s arc over the course of the series. In the next book, Quests by Numbers, there will be more exploration of Lauren’s Jinn talent as she continues her journey. And also some more fun cameos from characters who just won’t stay in their own series.
Speaking of cameos, I hope you enjoyed seeing a familiar face in this story. I realized in December that The Therian Way and Rogue Spotter not only fit together, but it filled in so much worldbuilding. I’m currently in the process of updating the published Therian Way novels and novellas to reflect their new position in the Rogue Spotter universe. So in the middle of writing this book, Raina decided she wanted to meet Lauren and . . . well . . . Suddenly Raina happened. Just between us, I’m pretty sure she enjoyed it much more than Lauren did. I do have to admit that writing Lauren’s reactions to Raina being Raina was one of the funniest and best parts of this book. I just loved her gut reaction to Raina as Atalanta.
Timeline wise, I do have that mapped out and the Rogue Spotter series mostly occurs between The Therian Way books two and five. So you can expect to see some more crossovers and cameos by Therian Way characters in the next two Rogue Spotter books. Some other characters that appeared in this book will soon be starring in their own spinoff series, The Fae Billionaires, a clean paranormal billionaire romance series. Both this new series and the continuation of The Therian Way will begin launching in late April to early May, so keep an eye out for those.
