Rescued by a Dom and a Sub

Anger had him riled up as he drove to the hotel afterward but walking in and seeing Jeremy lying on the bed and hearing Clara in the shower had his temper waning, at least for then. Then, they all made love.
He hadn’t told Clara his findings. Shane wanted to know what the hell was going on that someone was going after a former orphan.
“Yeah. Someone had cut her brake lines that caused her accident. Then she’d received some threatening notes.”
Jefferson shook his head as if in disbelief. “I hate when women are in those kinds of situations, but I’m sure if anyone can figure it out, it’s you.”
“Thanks. I just hope I can figure it out before she gets hurt,” Shane replied trying to keep his irritation at bay.
“Well, as you saw, your guy installed all your security devices, and they just need you to activate everything now that construction is finished. Your playroom is totally soundproof, so it doubles as your panic room, and your monitor room is soundproof, as well.” Jefferson turned toward Shane. “I’ve never worked with such an intensive security system before. I was beginning to think you were just a paranoid bastard, but now it seems it may come in handy.”
“Paranoid? Me?” Shane joked.
He knew he could go overboard sometimes, but Shane was thankful he had the foresight to add all the bells and whistles to his own home.

Thomas Mallory sat in the light blue older model hybrid where he had parked down the street from the house Clara Parsons had gone to with two men. One was surprisingly large, tall and muscular, while the other man was slightly smaller.
His irritation was beginning to rankle Thomas as the trio had been in the house for nearly two hours, and another man had arrived not too long after they had. The last man looked to be a contractor by the looks of the sign on the side of his truck.
Covertly, Thomas had been able to take some photos of the initial two men with Clara. He wanted to know who they were and why they were with her.
Staking out the hotel where Clara had gotten a room but hadn’t exited since her arrival two nights before, had gotten Thomas nowhere. He couldn’t just go to her room and remove her from it. There were too many people who could see him. Being part of a political team could have someone recognizing him.
He had called his lackey, Charlie Ashby, to get his ass up to Denver, who should be checking into the hotel sometime tomorrow night. It was high time they got rid of this bitch before Thomas’s plans were ruined.
Movement from the house at the top of the newly paved driveway caught Thomas’s attention. The house was up a way from the road. Looked like it was brand new. A rock and iron fence surrounded it on three sides, and probably a fourth, with a big wrought iron gate which stood about eight feet tall and was open at the moment. Whoever lived here had some money.
Thomas scrunched down as much as he could in the small car, hoping he wasn’t seen by the contractor who was now getting ready to pull out onto the road. The truck passed without any hesitation.
Looking back up the hill, Thomas spied Clara Parsons limping as she moved toward the black SUV sitting in the driveway. Two men came out and surrounded her from both sides.
When Thomas had arrived after following the truck here, he had to keep driving a bit so as not to appear as if he had been tailing them. He turned around further up the road and doubled back, so he hadn’t gotten a good look at the men with Clara. At the hotel, the parking garage was dim, and he didn’t have luck then also.
Both men were tall, one of them slightly taller than the other and was more muscular than the first. What they were doing with Clara was the question of the day.
Until…
Thomas watched as the tallest man reached up and lifted her face toward his. His leaned in and kissed the woman, and it wasn’t just a friendly peck. When he finished, the other man turned Clara toward him and kissed her equally as passionate.
“What the fuck?” Thomas exclaimed out loud. That little bitch was kissing two men!
Wait. Was it possible she wasn’t Kenneth’s illegitimate daughter after all? Perhaps this woman knew of the daughter Kenneth Chambers sired and decided she could get some money out of the family.
Things just took a turn for Thomas. He would expose the woman as a fraud and a swindler, and Jeffrey would be portrayed as the victim. That should get him a lot of votes going forward.
Glancing back at the house, the SUV was pulling out of the driveway, and the gate was closing behind it. He ducked again to avoid being seen.
As the truck disappeared down the street, Thomas began laying out his plan.

“I can’t believe you had a huge house built on the premise that you would have a family one day. Most people wait until that happens before they build a house.” Clara sat in the front seat across from Shane. She was still a bit in shock at the size of the house.
“It was time.” Shane kept his eyes on the road. “I bought the property as an investment, but when I hit my thirty-eighth birthday, I figured I needed to bank on a future for myself. The idea was to have the house built and then start earnestly searching for a wife. You two came into my life before the house was finished.”
“Wouldn’t you be lonely in such a big house?” Jeremy chimed in from the back seat.
“I guess we won’t know. With you two there, the house will be full. Occasionally my mother will visit, as will my daughter,” Shane replied.
“I didn’t know you have a daughter,” Clara mentioned.
Shane drew in a deep breath and released it slowly. “I do. I’m sorry I didn’t say anything sooner. I was afraid it would scare you off that I had a grown child. I love her, and she will always be a big part of my life.”
“It’s all right.” Clara decided he would talk about her when he was ready, so she went back to the part of the conversation that still worried her. “How do you know that you won’t grow tired of one or both of us?”
It had been on her mind since Shane had said he wanted a relationship right after they first met. She felt as if everything was moving too quickly, but then again, she did make love with him and Jeremy earlier. It would hurt if Shane, or Jeremy, suddenly decided they didn’t want her anymore. She hadn’t had luck very much with men, and she feared it would happen again.
She felt Shane’s hand on hers and Jeremy placed a hand on her shoulder, but Shane spoke first. “I know we just met, but I know how my heart feels. I’ve had a month to get my heart and my brain to the same place, and you are who I want to love. Both of you.”
“The same goes for me, sweetheart.” Jeremy agreed with Shane as he gave her shoulder a squeeze. “I was hooked as soon as I saw you in that car. I just prayed that you survived. I also hoped one day I would see Shane again. It was a godsend that I went to go see him yesterday at his office.”
Still uncertain, Clara would have to do a lot of thinking. Perhaps tomorrow she would have some quiet time to think about it.
The silence was uncomfortable since she had told them how she felt. Then, deciding to move the subject away from her indecision, she said, “It is a beautiful house. I didn’t think I would ever meet someone who had an elevator in their home.”
Shane intertwined his fingers with hers as he held her hand. “My mother visits often and she has some knee issues and a heart condition where the stairs wear on her heart. She refuses to have surgery for her knees. Anyway, I thought she would appreciate having her own room, and you saw that it had a bathroom attached. This way, she is further away from the master bedroom, and she can move around the house when I’m not home.”
“How often does your daughter visit?” Jeremy asked.
“She comes a few times during the school year, and then a few times during summer break. She’ll enjoy the pool.” Shane gave a chuckle. “She’ll probably live out by the pool.”
“You sound very proud of her,” Clara observed.
“I am. She knows what she wants, and that’s to help children
of military families. The stress of a parent being away in a war zone is very trying, and she thinks she can help the kids through that.”
Clara was surprised at how Shane spoke about his daughter. He seemed to be a bit gruff around the edges, but his eyes twinkled when he discussed her. She couldn’t wait to meet the young lady although Clara wondered if Diana would have a problem with Clara being only eight years older than her. However, that was something she’d worry about later.
Shane spoke with conviction and pride about his family, job, and the dominance he used to help him in his everyday life. Jeremy also, except he needed submission.
Until now, Clara had been living a life that revolved around her parents and her job. Her parents had been taken from her, something she knew would happen eventually due to their age as they were forty-five years older than her twenty-seven years. She never imagined they would be taken from her by a murderer. She also never imagined someone would try to kill her.
Her life had been dull until now. But she now had two men in her life that were wanting to spice it up a bit. Knowing she wanted to keep them, she had to accept their lives, their families, and to work at making them happy. She would need to talk to her friends about the club and what Shane would expect out of her.
Oh, no!
“Jeez! I totally forgot to let Savannah and Missy I wasn’t going to be able to meet for drinks earlier,” she said as she let her head fall back onto the headrest. “I told them it was pretty much a no-go, but I never got back to them that I was definitely not going. They’re going to be worried about me.”
“Call them now,” Shane urged.
“I left my phone in the room.” Clara hoped they weren’t worried.
“That’ll be one rule you’re going to need to follow, pet. Always keep your phone on you, especially while this little ordeal is going on.”
“I second that,” Jeremy chimed in. “You never know when you’ll need it, and you’ll never know when your Master will want to call and check on you.”
Clara rolled her eyes and let a little chuckle escape. “You sound like you’ve experienced such an incident.”
Silence filled the vehicle for a few moments before he responded. “I have. I got a good spanking for that.”
“Huh?”
“My mistress wanted to be in touch with me several times a day. I lost my phone one day, and she couldn’t reach me. She was worried about me because of my work. It’s not that they’re trying to rule your life, it’s that they want to make sure you are safe and sound. It also will be a part of discipline. It’s a requirement from your Dom, and you always want to please them.”
“Okay.” She wasn’t sure how to respond to that.
“Discipline is a large part of the lifestyle, at least on my part.” Shane never took his eyes off the road. “I don’t want to rule your life. But, like Jeremy said, I like to make sure you are safe and sound.”
“That’s reasonable,” Clara said, knowing Savannah and Missy’s men required the same thing. She just didn’t know she could get a spanking if she didn’t have her phone when Shane called.
“I’m sure they’ll understand, angel. But for now, we’re going to grab a bite to eat and get some sleep. I know it’s been a long day for all of us.” Shane squeezed her hand.
Yes. The day had been long, but for her and Jeremy, it had been boring.
Curiosity about the danger she was in was always forefront in her mind now, but she didn’t know if she should inquire about it or just let Shane handle it. She decided, for now, she would let it go. She was certain he would say something if anything had changed. This was something she was going to have to do to prove to him that she trusted him.

Jeremy’s gaze met Shane’s in the rearview mirror. There was something that had Clara in a thoughtful mood. He wondered what it was. Shane’s gaze told him he had seen it also.
The one thing he hoped was that she wasn’t regretting their lovemaking earlier.
He hadn’t been expecting them to make love when Shane had gotten back from work. Jeremy had thought it was still going to be a while because of his injuries and Clara’s. However, after he had tasted her and then had his cock inside her, he knew he would never be able to move onto another woman for the rest of his life.
She had been overwhelmed by the orgasms they brought out of her, as if it was a surprise. Her body was receptive and soft, and she was so passionate.
Now that they had made love, he couldn’t wait to be able to share Shane.
“So, if you guys wish,” Shane interrupted Jeremy’s thoughts. “When the house is completed in about a week, I would like you two to move in with me. If you don’t want to share the master bedroom, we can let Clara have it, and Jeremy and I can use the two extra bedrooms upstairs. It’s totally up to you, but I’d like us all to move in at the same time.”
Jeremy’s heart sank a bit. “I wouldn’t be able to do that because of my job.”
Clara remained silent, but through the mirror, Jeremy could see Shane smirking. Things were moving quickly, but they had to be realistic about his job.
This was going to have to be a long-distance relationship, and he could come up to visit on his days off, but how long was that going to last? He had already fallen for Shane and Clara, and he didn’t want to give them up.
Finally, Shane spoke. “It will all work out, pup. Just be patient.”
Unsure of what the man meant, Jeremy sat back and thought about his life where it currently was. He wondered what kind of job he could get here in Denver if he quit his job. He really loved what he did, but he hadn’t been happy with the location for a while. Perhaps it was time to move on.
Dinner was a quiet affair at an Italian place Clara had chosen. Even though she suggested it because she liked the food there, she didn’t talk much. It seemed as if she and Jeremy both had things to think about. When they arrived at the hotel, he and Shane bid Clara a good night before Shane walked Jeremy to his room and did the same.
He was curious if Shane was upset with them as the man barely said a word as they walked to Jeremy’s room. Now, Jeremy was lying in his bed, looking up at the ceiling. Sleep didn’t come easy for him, but somewhere in the middle of the night, he had made a decision.

Stifling the yawn that hit him as he picked up the phone at his desk, Shane was feeling the effects of no sleep. He wished it had been because his new lovers were insatiable, but that wasn’t the case. Clara and Jeremy were oddly quiet before they got to the restaurant and when he tried to engage them in conversations, their answers were short. And earlier, the evening had gone so well.
Clara had gone silent after they talked about the house and his daughter. Was it possible she didn’t want to be a stepmother? Did she not want kids?
Shane knew why Jeremy had pulled into himself. It was because of him talking about the house and that they could move in with him once it was ready. Jeremy hoped he would get the job he had applied for in Denver, but he hadn’t heard anything yet. Shane knew that Jeremy was doubtful last night and that didn’t sit well with him.
He had to wonder if he was moving them too quickly.
Picking up the receiver, Shane hit the line button. “Owens.”
“Shane, it’s Drake. I have the information you requested.”
“Give it to me.”
“Major Kenneth Chambers was stationed at Camp Humphreys in South Korea from 1990 to 1992. He was married and had a son at home and went on to have two more once he had returned stateside. In 1998 he ran for congress and won. He was on the fast track for the senate a couple of years later, but in 2002, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and died a year later. His son, Jeffrey, followed in his father’s footsteps and is now a senator. Speculation is he’ll run in 2024 for the presidency.”
“I knew the name sounded familiar. Clara said that her adoptive mother told her that her father was a soldier stationed in North Korea. She said that Kenneth Chambers was h
is name.”
John Drake was a fed whom Shane had worked with several times before. He had turned out to be a good source of information, and Drake had recently joined The Tiger’s Lair. He and his wife had been practicing BDSM for quite a few years.
“Jeffrey is squeaky clean. Not even a parking ticket. He married into a wealthy family, and they have four kids. Of course, that doesn’t mean he’s a perfect man, but I couldn’t find anything derogatory on him,” Drake explained, and he was right.
Politicians nowadays usually had at least one skeleton in their closest. Perhaps he was trying to get rid of Clara because of her being illegitimate.
“Where is he now? Texas or D.C.?” Shane inquired. He was going to contact Senator Chambers and see what the man knew about Clara.
“He’s in Texas now. The Governor’s Ball is tonight, and from the intel I got, he’ll be attending it with his wife.”
“Do you by chance have a way I can get a hold of him without going through a ton of assistants telling me to jump off a bridge?” Shane asked. He knew it was going to be tough getting through to the man.
Drake provided Shane with as much information as he could on Jeffrey Chambers before he signed off. Shane hoped that he wasn’t the one behind the menacing letters, the accident, and the death of Clara’s parents. Chambers did have a spotless record.
After ending the call with Drake, Shane dialed the private number that would lead him to his future brother-in-law. Yes, that sounded pretentious, but Shane knew he was going to marry Clara and Jeremy.
“Chambers,” the voice sounded on the other end.
Deciding to go with the “we’re friends already” tactic, Shane spoke. “Jeffrey, my name is Shane Owens. I am your half sister’s fiancé.”
There was a slight pause then, “How do you know I’m the right person?”
