She followed his instructions and shut her eyes. A second later, her eyes shot open. “Wait!”

Zeke was in the same spot sitting on the couch, smiling at her. “Why are you so afraid? I’m not going to do anything you haven’t done before.”

  Sydney chuckled a little. “There’s a lot that you’ve done that I haven’t.”

True. “Close your eyes,” Zeke repeated.

She took a deep breath and closed her eyes for the second time.

Zeke could sense that Sydney was nervous, so he decided to go slow with her. He pushed her wet hair from her bare shoulders and inhaled the sweet scent of mango body wash. He unfolded her hands from her lap and placed them at her sides. From the moment he’d laid eyes on Sydney, he thought she was breathtaking. The feeling never changed. In the two years they had known each other, he had witnessed her incredible physique in bikinis and skimpy outfits, but there was something stimulating about seeing her in only a towel. At this moment, he not only thought she was beautiful, but also extremely sexy.

Zeke planned on starting their little experiment with a kiss on the lips, but he instead pressed a soft kiss in between the valley of her breast. He felt Sydney shiver from the contact and was pleased that she was reacting towards him.

A whimper fell from her lips. “Zeke.”

“Shhh.” He shushed her before giving her a chaste kiss.

Sydney attempted to graze his lips, but Zeke moved out of her reach and pressed soft kisses to her chin and right cheek. The next area he touched was at the corner of her lips. Zeke pulled back again when Sydney tried to press her lips against his.

She opened her eyes. "Stop messing around.”

"I just want to make sure you're ready."

"I'm not some fifteen-year-old girl waiting for her first kiss, Zeke-"

Sydney shrieked in surprise when Zeke pulled her legs, forcing her to fall back on the couch. Before she could respond, he was on top of her and his mouth was latched onto hers. Sydney moaned as Zeke's tongue delved into her mouth.

And just like that, any nerves and worries about them having sex were wiped away.

Zeke only meant to kiss Sydney, but he was one second away from fucking her on the couch. He didn’t expect to get the surge of sexual need from a simple touch. The erection that he couldn't get at the clinic pressed against her pussy. The only barrier separating him from entering her was the fabric of his pants. Aware of the proximity, Zeke grinded against Sydney, causing her to moan again.

He couldn’t remember the last time he wanted a woman so badly. He was almost about to pull his dick out when Sierra walked into the apartment.

"Are you done talking? I'm bored.”

One moment he was grinding against Sydney and the next his ass was hitting the ground. Who knew she could be so strong?

"Sierra! That key is for emergencies!" she shouted to her sister. Zeke could see the embarrassment written across her face.

"Well, I didn't know you two would be bonking each other," Sierra replied, looking in between Zeke and Sydney with curious eyes.

If looks could kill, Sierra would be dead by now. It was obvious that she wasn't leaving, so Zeke stood to go. He leaned down and kissed Sydney on the cheek.

  "I’ll call you later.”

Zeke left the apartment feeling satisfied. He and Sydney had astonishing chemistry, and he couldn’t wait to see what happened when they got the chance to be alone, without interruptions.

  Chapter Eight

My house on Friday at seven.

Zeke had left a message on her voicemail with those six words. Today was Friday, and she watched the clock tick on the wall as it crept closer to seven. She hadn't accomplished anything today because she’d spent the entire time thinking about him. She should've just stayed home from work because she was a nervous wreck. A wreck because she knew that tonight was the night that Zeke expected to conceive their child, and she had about four more hours to prepare herself.

What happened between them left her in a daze. She knew that Zeke was a ladies’ man and had a lot of experience, but she had never experienced it for herself. After he left and she kicked Sierra out of her apartment, she had to relieve herself with one of her mechanical toys. It still wasn’t enough. Her body craved the touch of Zeke, and she ended up going to bed feeling restless.

  "Earth to Sydney."

Sydney hadn't realized anyone had opened her office door. Her sister was standing in the doorway. "Do you need something?"

Sierra walked into the office. "Yeah, I need for my sister to start acting normal. What's up with you?" Sierra questioned.

Sydney sighed and ran her hands through her curly hair. "I'm meeting Zeke later."

Sierra didn't find anything significant about Sydney meeting with Zeke until she put it all together. "You're doing the nasty tonight?" she asked eagerly, sitting in the chair in front of Sydney's desk.

Sydney just nodded her head, signifying yes.

"Are you worried about it? You looked comfortable with him on the couch." She hadn't meant to interrupt them, and as a result, Sydney took her key away. It was fine though, because their brother Jonathan had a spare key as well, and she just made a copy of his.

"I didn't expect it to be so-"

"Satisfying?" Sierra filled in for her.

Sydney didn't think that was the reason she felt so much from their little encounter. She had experience with other men who knew how to touch her the right way, but it never had a lasting effect. She’d thought about Zeke every day of this week, and not in a best friend type of way. "Sierra, I think I have feelings for Zeke," she admitted to her sister. She waited for a reaction from Sierra, but it never came. "Did you hear me?"

"I heard you, Syd. Am I supposed to be shocked? I knew that you liked Zeke from the very beginning; I was just waiting for you to see it."

"I never liked him before. I just realized it now,” she disagreed.

Sierra shook her head. "No, sister dear. You caught feelings for Zeke the moment he stepped into the store two years ago. You just used your business as an excuse to not explore those feelings. I've watched the two of you practically date each other. Whenever he doesn't have a girlfriend, you fill in the void, and he does the same thing for you. When you found out about Alana you were upset, and whenever you start to date someone new, Zeke barely comes around.

  “That’s not true.”

“Sydney, Davis was perfect, but you pushed him away. That man would have done anything to get back together with you."

Sydney sighed. Sierra thought Davis was a good guy. He got along with her family and friends and supported her independence. But he also cheated on her. No one in the family was aware of it. "It just didn't work out with Davis. We still talk every once in a while,” she defended.

Sierra snorted. "Okay. What happened to the other guys? In these past two years, none of your relationships have worked, and it's because you're in love with Zeke."

Sydney thought it over and knew that her sister was right. After Davis, she casually dated a guy named Michael and then there was Ervin. Both were quickie relationships. She hadn’t even slept with them. Now that she thought about it, she hadn’t had sex with anyone with since Davis. Have I gone two years without being touched intimately?

She placed her head on her desk, frustrated. "Why didn't you tell me this earlier?” she mumbled.

"I was waiting for you to see it. That's how you are, Syd. Just like when we were kids, you wouldn't believe that Santa Clause was fake until you saw mom and dad putting presents under the tree," Sierra chuckled. "What time are you meeting?"

  "At seven."

Sierra looked at her sister and decided to help her out. "Turn your computer off and grab your purse. We're going to get you prepared for your date."

At five minutes till seven, Sydney stood outside of Zeke's home. She looked ready, thanks to Sierra’s help, but she was still nervous. She wanted to tell Zeke how she felt but was worried about
the outcome. She didn't want to expose her feelings just to be disappointed by the lack of his.

Taking a deep breath, she rang the doorbell. A few minutes later, Zeke opened the door, still dressed in his business suit for work. To Sydney, he looked incredible.

"I'm sorry that I didn't get the chance to change," he apologized, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek in greeting.

Sydney followed him inside. "Did you work late?"

"I had a client come in right before five, and he wouldn't take no for an answer. I ended up discussing his case with him until after six and then I had to go get dinner and make it back home. I just arrived about fifteen minutes ago," he explained.

"I could've made something to eat, Zeke."

He shook his head. "No Syd, I want you to relax tonight. I'm going to hop in the shower. There's wine, have a glass and wait for me. I'll be right back," he stated, before running down the hall towards the master bedroom.

Sydney pictured Zeke naked as she went into the kitchen and observed the takeout bags from one her favorite restaurant in Austin. Grabbing plates from the cabinets and silverware from the kitchen drawers, she set the table. He came back downstairs after his shower, dressed in a polo and khakis and saw what she’d done, and complained.

"Syd, I told you to get some wine and relax."

“I wanted to help." She pointed to the chair across from her. "Sit."

"Yes, ma'am," he agreed, sitting down. He reached for her hand and said grace.

"Lord, we thank you for this meal, for all the blessings you impart, for our family, for our friends and for living in our hearts. Thank you for bringing Sydney and me together and keeping us close. Amen," he finished and released her hand.

"Amen," she repeated. "Thank you for getting the food."

He smiled her way. "You’re welcome, Syd."

They started to eat, no longer talking. It wasn’t uncomfortable, but it was out of the norm for them.

  "Are you okay?"

  Sydney nodded her head. "Yes.”

Zeke stopped eating and watched her. "You're nervous.”

  "I'm not nervous."

He leaned back and studied her. "I know you, Syd. You’re twirling your hair, and you can’t sit still. I thought we broke through the barrier on Monday and got rid of the jitters. We're good together."

Too good, she thought to herself. “I'm alright Zeke,” she repeated.

They continued to eat in silence. When Zeke finished, he came up with a solution to relieve her nerves. "I think I know how to get you to relax." He went over to the stereo system and pushed a few buttons. Soft music started to play over the speakers.

“Dance with me.” He didn’t wait for a response, just walked over and pulled her from the chair.

Sydney melted in his arms as they moved around the room.

"Are you ready? I don't want you to do this if you're having second thoughts.”

Sydney thought it over and realized that she wanted it to happen, not just to give him a child, but because she wanted to experience his love. "I'm ready."

"I just want you to be sure. I know it's a lot to handle, but know that I'll be with you every step of the way. If you need your feet rubbed, I'll be there with the lotion. If you're craving something, I'll go get it for you. When you throw it up, I'll be there holding your hair. When you deliver our baby, I'll be right by your side, holding your hand, supporting you. I'll be there for you 100%," he expressed.

Hearing him say those words only made her feel more secure in her decision. She knew Zeke was going to be an amazing support and father. "I'm sure."

  “Good.”

  ≈

The same desire that he felt on Monday appeared again, and he continued to devour Sydney’s lips as he tightened his arms around her waist. He pulled her closer until there wasn't a space between them.

Ready to take it the next level, Zeke bent his legs, wrapped his arms around Sydney's thighs, and picked her straight up. He carried her this way all the way to the bedroom and then loosened his arms, resulting in Sydney sliding down his body towards the ground.

No words were said as he slipped the straps of her dress off of her shoulders. He stripped her down until she stood bare in front of him. Zeke frowned when Sydney tried to hide her nakedness with her hands.

“Don’t do that. Do you know how beautiful you are?”

  “I’m not.”

He moved her hands. “I disagree. You’re the most stunning woman I know, and you deserve to hear it every day.”

So eager to be inside of her, he gently pushed her back on the bed. Sydney’s giggles halted as she watched him take off his clothes. When he was completely undressed and naked in front of her, he climbed on top of her, connecting his mouth with hers again. Sydney fell under his spell and succumbed to her desires. Zeke didn’t understand what was happening. He never wanted a woman as much as he wanted Sydney. He wanted their experience to last, so he eased into her, slow and easy, taking his time. He didn’t miss the gasp that fell from her lips. He stopped.

  "Am I hurting you?"

“No. I just didn’t expect… you to be so large.”

Zeke chuckled and started moving again. “Tell me if it’s too much.”

He pressed a brief kiss on her nose. He always thought of her as being delicate, just like the thousands of flowers in her store. The last thing he wanted was to cause her pain.

Little by little, his pace increased. With the music no longer playing, Sydney’s moans were the only sounds coming from the room.

They made love twice. Each time left them satisfied, but they couldn’t get enough of one another. Sydney had never experienced the orgasms that Zeke caused with no other man. Maybe it was the fact that she hadn’t had sex in two years but she couldn’t get enough of him, so she willingly accepted all that he had to give. When he grabbed her the third time, she wanted to make something clear. She wasn’t going to break. Sydney got the impression that Zeke was holding back, and she wanted all of him. She wanted his full effort. She wanted to remember their night together forever, and she didn't want him to be tender.

"I'm not some virgin you need to handle gently. You can go harder," she encouraged when he slid in between her legs again.

Zeke listened and lifted Sydney’s legs over his shoulders. He quickened his thrusts while he moved inside of her. Sydney quickly regretted taunting him. Her moans turned to screams as he repeatedly hit her g-spot.

"Am I hurting you now?" he asked, with a smirk on his face.

Sydney shook her head. "No, but it’s too much. I can’t handle it," she admitted.

"Yes, you can. You wanted me harder, so that's what you're going to get.”

The pleasure that Zeke was giving her was too much to take in. He was torturing her, and with her legs placed on his shoulders, he was buried so far inside of her that she knew she was going to orgasm soon.

He felt incredible. With every stroke, she felt sparks throughout her body. This experience was the first time she’d had without the barrier of a condom, and she was hoping it wasn't her last. She didn't want to get pregnant right away, and hoped that she and Zeke got to continue practicing.

She screamed Zeke's name as her release came minutes later. Zeke reached his peak soon after, dropped her legs, and collapsed against her. She wrapped her legs around his waist tighter, receiving him.

Zeke buried his head in the crook of her neck while he regained his composure. They were both breathing hard after their love session.

"Thank you, Syd," he mumbled against her skin.

"For what?" she asked, still holding him close.

"For giving me the greatest gift I could ever ask for, I love you.”

It wasn't the first time he had said it, and she knew that it wasn't a romantic I love you. She wanted him to be in love with her. "I love you, too." She lifted his head from her neck and kissed him.

"How are you feeling?" Zeke asked in a concerned manner.

  "I should've stretched bef
ore,” she chuckled. “I haven’t done anything like that in a long time.”

Zeke laughed with her. "Hold on to me," he stated before rolling them over, so Sydney was on top of him; they were still intimately connected. “We’ll shower in a few.”

"Together?" she asked, lifting her head from his chest to stare into his brown eyes.

He laughed again. "Yes, together. We’re not done,” he said before placing a kiss on her nose.

Zeke held Sydney close to him and trailed his fingers across her spine. "Have you thought of any baby names?" he asked her.

She shook her head. "No, not really. I do want him or her to have a firm name and something that's not going to put them into a stereotype." She and her siblings had neutral names, and she would want the same for her child.

"So Bon Qui Qui wouldn't be a proper name to suggest?" he playfully said.

  She giggled. "No."

"Okay, how about Justice for a girl?"

She thought it over and decided that she liked that name. "Justice.” The named flowed from her lips. “It's different, and it fits because you're a lawyer. What if it's a boy?"

"I haven't thought about any boy’s names," he admitted. "For some reason, I think she'll be a girl and be a gorgeous like her mother."

Sydney blushed when he referred to her as gorgeous. "What about Zeke Jr?"

"Zeke the Geek," he chanted. "I was called that until college ended. I was tortured with it, Syd. So no Zeke Jr,” he replied. "What about Deacon?"

"No to Deacon. It sounds like he's a member of a church." Sydney thought it over some more and came up with a better name. "What about Theodore. We can call him Teddy for short."

  "My dad's name?"

"Yeah. I never met him, but he seemed like a great man.”

“It means a lot to me that you would name our son after my father.” Rolling back on top of her, he kissed her before speaking again. "Theodore or Justice Adams-Coleman. I think it sounds perfect."

"You want to hyphenate the last name?"

"Of course, the baby will be half of you,” he said, before giving her another peck on the lips. Crawling off of her, he pulled her off the bed. "Let's take a shower."
