A Penny for Your Thoughts

asked Randy.
Randy explained how the evening had gone, and told his dad about his new job. “I don’t tell you this often enough, son,” said Dr. Perkins, “but, I am very proud of you.” Then, he hugged his son.
Randy realized that he could no longer read people’s thoughts, but he realized that by just listening to people, really listening, he could tell what they were thinking, and he did not need to read minds any longer.
The next morning, Randy woke up Annie at seven o’clock, and after making breakfast for the two of them, they began their day of adventure. Randy let Annie choose whatever activities she wanted. First, they went shopping. Annie got a few cute outfits, and Randy even let her pick out some clothes for him to try on. He was right about her. She was a fashion genius. He loved the outfits she had picked out for him.
After lunch, they went to an arcade, played miniature golf, and then went to an amusement park. After grabbing some pizza, they went to see a movie. Annie wanted to see a scary movie, and though Randy was not so sure that it was a good idea, he agreed. Throughout the movie, Annie held tightly onto Randy’s arm. When they were driving, Randy asked his sister; “Weren’t you scared?”
“Yes” she replied, “but with you to protect me, I knew that I was completely safe.”
It was late, when they returned home. Mrs. Perkins told Annie to get ready for bed.
“First, I have to write about this day in my diary” she told her mom. “I want to remember this day for ever. It was the best day of my life.”
Randy hugged his sister and said; “It was the best day of my life too, Annie.”
Later that night, as Randy was getting ready for bed, something fell out of his wallet. As he reached down to pick it up, he realized that it was his magical penny. Randy realized that that he had everything that he could ever wish for, so he put the penny in a secret place, in case he ever needed it again someday.
Before Randy went to sleep, he thanked God for his family and Monica, and for helping him to be a better person. Then, Randy closed his eyes and fell into a peaceful slumber.
