Lisiek drew closer to him, and Feraan swung the blade forward, sending the man flying into the opposite wall with a bolt of lightning. ?When the dust settled, Lisiek did not move.

Feraan's hair stood on edge with the shock, but the magic took more of his strength. ?He had to blink furiously in order to keep Grimault in focus.

"It would appear as though you've destroyed my steward," Grimault observed, leaning on one leg.

"You might as well surrender now before I destroy you."

"Nonsense. ?I have a whole army waiting outside. ?I doubt even you could fight this entire fortress alone." ?

The foundations of the castle rumbled, and Feraan wondered who had arrived to attack the fortress. ?He didn't want to think about facing another threat once he rescued Caelfel. ?He tightened his shaking fingers around the hilt of his sword.

  If he rescued Caelfel.

He didn't have the energy to call upon more magic, so as he charged Grimault, he left it to sheer force. ?Grimault lifted his weapon and easily parried Feraan's blow.
