PLISSINGA:
A student who has willingly bound him-, her-, or itself to a teacher of spiritual matters. One cannot become a plissinga until one has reached vershniffle. (3)
SNARZ-BIZIP:
A sudden, loud snort through the nose, made when a Hevi-Hevian is very tired, or drifting off to sleep; often accompanied by a spray of sparks from the sphen-gnut-ksher. (serial episode)
SPEEKTAM BRECHLIJ KEEBO:
Not Hevi-Hevian, and difficult to translate exactly. The general sense is “What the heck is that thing?” (19)
VERSHNIFFLE:
Literally, “the second awakening.” Refers to the time when a Hevi-Hevian is ready to receive more intense spiritual training. (Hevi-Hevians believe that childlings should glory in the physical world, and adults fear that spiritual training given too early may stifle the full awakening of the wonder and awe they will experience when undergoing training in the Deeper Mysteries.) (3)
WAKKAM:
(plural: wakkamami) A teacher or guru adept in spiritual training. The Trading Federation believes it is important for anyone involved in business to maintain a balance between work and spirit, and no being is allowed to become a full Trader until a wakkam has accepted his, her, or its application to be a plissinga. (This does not represent a forced belief system, by the way, as the wakkamami registered with the Trading Federation represent over twenty-four thousand different sects, faiths, and belief systems. Moreover, a Trader may have many wakkamami in a lifetime.) (3)
